The staff worked immediately to get replacement meals put together for me when the kitchen couldn't the Dr approved medication my husband brought in my insurance kept denying due the red dye allergy. They even went so far to make sure I got cracher wit my seizure meds bc I wasn't supposed to take on a empty stomach. If you can check yourself out of the place I don't see why you're not trusted to smoke in their enclosed area. But the food was good. Sarah is a wonderful therapist who has helped me through tough emotions and memories. Facilitators Ronnie and George make the daily groups interesting, interactive and fun. The management is extremely helpful and the wonderful front desk lady Samantha will stop at nothing to make sure you are taken care of! In the sober home you will be able to move freely to work to meeting and whatever your recreational activities may be. All of this sounded so uncomfortable to me until I saw and lived it myself and I can tell you there is just such an opportunity for you and a chance to build a life that sounds like such a fairytale when I was in active addiction . There is a meeting every morning on the beach that completely changes your mind about your chances. God bless Michael Clinton 1 year ago I have had the honor of being accepted into the program, the class and meeting are well put together, they do have the skills you need to be successful in your recovery, you just need to be completely focused on your recovery and dedicate yourself to that, because if you don't the program will not work. I sit back and watch women complain and iI see them same women not fully applying themself to the program, if you want something to work you have to read and do what the instructions say or you're not going to get it right, and you tend to blame the program. 1st I believe the consistent use of the cell phones are a major distraction to our recovery while we are here, there are unit phones that can be used. Also, the rules need to be enforced more and taken serious by the clients, the disrespect between the clients are childish in this moment, so staff are in high stress due to the disrespect they receive by the clients, please don't believe all the wrong things you here about this program. Behavioral Health Centers have come under the jurisdiction and ownership of large hospital groups, Thrive, Newport BH, and CCA in the North are still NOT operated by large corporate Hospital Groups and all the conflicts of interest that may entail. Thrive has programs that are unique too. There's the Briggs School whose aim is to help kids going through rough patches get back on track and back to the public schools as soon as they can. There's the Hillsgrove Clubhouse that is part of the world-wide Clubhouse International movement. While Massachusetts has around 30 Clubhouses there with their population of 7.2 million. Little Rhody has just one Clubhouse for a million Rhode Islanders, and it's Thrive that makes sure that we have one. Accredited Clubhouses like Hillsgrove will have their people 4x as likely to be employed and in the competitive public job market than consumers not receiving that help. Recovery DOES Happen. (We need more Clubhouses in RI!) Thrive has a prison diversion program originally designed for veterans who had an 80% recidivism (return to prison) rate. Thrive's program has flipped that number upside down saving the State large sums of money and helping vets live dignified lives. Thrive has expanded this program successfully knowing that prison is likely the last place on earth for a person suffering from anxiety or deep depression or psychosis "to get better". Recovery DOES happen! Thrive has a unique program designed around, and for young adults called "Healthy Transitions." Thrive is also successfully partnered with the Warwick Police Department to provide invaluable technical help for officers in the field, who may've had great police training, but not extensive training in Behavioral Health. While it’s primarily group therapy focused, Sheri was an excellent facilitator (and therapist) for the group (and on an individual basis, as well). If you need support regarding mental health and/or overcoming substance use, this is the best facility in the area for PHP/IOP. From the first day, you can tell the faculty actually cares and wants you to succeed in overcoming any challenges you face regarding mental health/substance use. With the help of their case workers, their support goes beyond just your treatment which helps you feel supported even outside of PHP/IOP. Highly recommend CarePlus to anyone in need of this care.
