The staff is friendly and caring with your best out come the major goal I really enjoy working with everybody I’ve been in contact with, and if anyone’s having problems with opioid addiction or any addiction, this would be a good place to start your road to recovery. It’s been a lifesaver for me. *Update* Aug 14, 2025, I hope that anyone who suffers a disease of addiction, or any other diseases finds their way to a good doctor or group of doctors to help you begin recovery. I highly recommend Project Recovery, as a disabled man who suffers from chronic pain and was addicted to morphine. Doctor Thorpe was the blessing I needed for what I've been dealing with for a long time. She was very thorough, when I didn't know where to start with all of my issues. She went through all of my history and afterwards explained, with certainty, what I had and how my symptoms relate to it. She also prescribed a medicine and is going to help me find a therapist.
I had been debating going for such a long time, because I was certain I'd be turned down or not heard. It was quite the opposite.
She was a breath of fresh air. She was very personal, very kind and uplifting. I couldn't thank her enough, but, I wanted to leave a review, because, she made a positive change in my life that I needed for so long.

In 2014 I started going to Fort Meade. The nurses were great. The medical service was meh. I was given pain pills for a broken back that accorded in 2010. The pills worked great but I found out later I was only supposed to take them for two weeks. I was on them for 2 years. By the end of 2014 I had suffered two strokes and daily TIA's. In 2015 I had another stroke, a big one, which ruined my memory. Wiped it all away. I had a mild heart attack and the pharmacist came in and questioned how long I was on those meds. They were why I was having strokes and constant TIA's. New pain pills, no dozens of different pain pills that didn't work later I had gout all of a sudden. 2019 had back surgery from a dr. that was an General anesthesia not a surgeon. 2020 happened meds ran dry and I was forced to go cold turkey from all the medicines. My health improved and I got better. As the years went on and especially during Obama and Biden presidency the hospital has gone down hill. I have had dozens of primary's and only one of them was a real doctor. I do not want to ever go back but since I am now, thanks to the VA, disabled I have no choice.

We went to CHI Williston on March 4 for a second opinion, as my son was not getting any better. His fever had returned, and he still had a dry cough.
Backstory: We first went to a clinic in Minot on February 28 to have him checked. They tested him for strep, COVID, flu, and possibly other infections , but all the results came back negative. So, we went back home to New Town. A few days later, his fever returned, so I decided to take him to his pediatrician, Dr. Mulu, at CHI.
Nurse Anabel helped us find an available schedule so we could get my son checked as soon as possible. Dr. Mulu made sure to gather all the necessary information about my son’s symptoms. As expected—and something I really appreciate—they started with the basics: checking his back and chest with a stethoscope, examining his ears and nose for any possible infections.
I also asked Dr. Mulu if he could request a chest X-ray to rule out pneumonia. I remembered a similar situation a few years ago where a doctor couldn’t hear anything unusual from his lungs, but the X-ray revealed pneumonia. I’ll never forget what Dr. Mulu told me: "We doctors also listen to parents” and something like they not just go by the book.
As it turned out, my son did have pneumonia. Dr. Mulu handled the situation with great care, making sure my son received the appropriate dosage of antibiotics to begin treatment rightaway. They explained everything to us through call and gave proper instructions. Nurse Anabel was also wonderful, helping us throughout the process—from scheduling to personally accompanying us to the laboratory. They are all friendly and treat you with most respect and care.
And lastly, I’d like to share my 5-year old son’s own words about what he went through/experience at both clinics
“ Okay Mom, We will go to tito(uncle) doctor in Williston because they are good there..
not in the hospital-the clinic in Minot. They are not good. They are not careful. When they checked my nose , they are not good.
But in williston.. they are careful, they are friends “

Even though this facility has had so many rough patches and so many Conflicts with many Native American and non-colored individuals in this community. I can sure say that the children’s home Society being one of the most oldest facilities to help youth and mothers all around, strive Daily to help those in need whether that’s residential, Emergency Shelter. I once, had To stay at the children’s homes society because I had no where else to go, I was under the custody of my mother. An it seemed so hopeless to even want to move forward with school, or my everyday life because I thought these people were here to hurt me. The Home Society all around had always welcomed My Mother and I with open arms regardless of the opinion on her history. And chose to help us succeed for the better. This is one facility. I am very fond of because even after all these years they continue to fight for what they believe is right in their terms. The facility has their own agenda, but let’s remember all the employees and everybody who wants to help everyone who work there, All work there for one thing and that’s to help indigenous, homeless, and even youth who had no support. Who WE AS PEOPLE would like to see succeed. Although this facility doesn’t shine particularly. Children’s Home Society holds a place in my heart. I thank you all for doing what you can, and making everything possible. Because without the Societies help. I wouldn’t be here today, a grown adult, attempting to change the lives of youth today. I am forever grateful :)

Boyfriend came in under advisement from his primary because of ongoing concerns and the ER “Dr” pretty much said we were wasting his time. He walked away and we were left sitting in the er room and was being ignored by everyone!! The health care in Williston ND is the worst I have ever seen!!!!
