Even though this facility has had so many rough patches and so many Conflicts with many Native American and non-colored individuals in this community. I can sure say that the children’s home Society being one of the most oldest facilities to help youth and mothers all around, strive Daily to help those in need whether that’s residential, Emergency Shelter. I once, had To stay at the children’s homes society because I had no where else to go, I was under the custody of my mother. An it seemed so hopeless to even want to move forward with school, or my everyday life because I thought these people were here to hurt me. The Home Society all around had always welcomed My Mother and I with open arms regardless of the opinion on her history. And chose to help us succeed for the better. This is one facility. I am very fond of because even after all these years they continue to fight for what they believe is right in their terms. The facility has their own agenda, but let’s remember all the employees and everybody who wants to help everyone who work there, All work there for one thing and that’s to help indigenous, homeless, and even youth who had no support. Who WE AS PEOPLE would like to see succeed. Although this facility doesn’t shine particularly. Children’s Home Society holds a place in my heart. I thank you all for doing what you can, and making everything possible. Because without the Societies help. I wouldn’t be here today, a grown adult, attempting to change the lives of youth today. I am forever grateful :)

At one time this nursing home had a reputation that made you question whether or not you should place a loved one here. I’m here to tell you that shouldn’t even be a question. My aunt came for therapy, a few months ago and was very reluctant to go. Now, she and my family couldn’t be happier. The staff is very caring, kind and respectful. My mother spent 17 days at Big Horn Rehabilitation and Care Center while recovering from heart stent surgery. First, the term "rehabilitation" is used very loosely. She was taken to the gym only 2 of the 17 days and received very little rehabilitation. I will have to say the majority of the nurses are caring and the therapists appear to be skilled. However, one of the Occupational Therapists mentioned that they are only allowed to spend a certain amount of time with each patient. Apparently, that allotted time is extremely minute. My mother had the bad fortune of spending her second week at the facility during the Physical Therapist's vacation. The facility did not provide a replacement PT. The facility does not provide therapy or showers on the weekends. My mother often was only given the opportunity to shower every 3-4 days. Now let's talk about the food, which was consistently bad. My mother lost weight during her stay. On the night prior to her release, she ate a few bites of broccoli and became very ill. Reportedly, many residents became ill after eating the broccoli, as it was apparently contaminated by salmonella. My mother's check-out papers reported that she routinely consumed at least 75% of most meals. This is absolutely false. I was at her side during nearly every evening meal and during many lunches. A more accurate description would be that at least 75% of the food was unconsumed and remained on her plate. Fresh fruit was NEVER served, but a significant amount of pork and processed food was. I made several complaints to the management regarding my mother's care but saw no improvement. I just finished reading an article that quotes Ahron Katz, who has been the owner and CEO of the facility for approximately one year. Katz claimed he was dedicated to putting the residents first. I have heard very poor reviews of the facility while it was named Sheridan Manor. My mother's experience at the facility (which now has a different name) would indicate that there have not been many significant improvements. In hindsight, after having sufficient time to research this facility, I discovered that Big Horn Rehabilitation Center's Short-Term Rehabilitation Rating is quite low. Only 34.9% of residents were able to return home after being discharged. Compared to Wyoming 48.1% and national 50.8% averages.

I was a patient in this clinic in February of 2025. They have a provider that has so much specialty experience, she was amazing. I met her when she worked at the GI office, my wife worked with her at two local urgent cares. She was compassionate, really listened to me and my concerns. The first time I’ve seen a registered nurse working in a clinic in over 20 years. It was clean, one of the nicest clinics in town. I highly recommend Crossroads to anyone. I didn’t have insurance at the time, but their cash rates are so affordable. Anywhere else, it’s $175-$200 to walk in with a sore throat. Not even kidding, I paid less than $50 to be examined, tested and an additional $5 for the prescription. Their nurse called me a few days later just to check in on me. Don’t be fooled by the other places in town - you want to feel seen, heard and like the only patient of the day? Go to crossroads - best medical clinic in town!

Even though it was over the computer (I came in but she was offsite) I knew she actually cared. For many years I have been able to watch as this organization has grown into what is has become and be a part of what it is going to continue to become. The vision that Laura had all those years ago for people to just be able to have some hope for something different instead of addiction and degradation in a setting of welcoming and judgement-free helpfulness. By promoting many pathways to recovery for the person and family, there are new beginnings happening all the time in our community. The PATH program, Peer Specialist training, QPR, and other hopeful and helpful endeavors that the wonderful staff get to help with and serve people in have filled a needed and wanted niche. Here's to many more wonderful decades to come!

I had the pleasure of working with the team at Big Horn Rehabilitation and Care Center in Sheridan about a month ago, and I was truly impressed by their warmth and dedication to the residents. The caregivers I met were not only friendly but deeply invested in providing quality care. You could feel the authenticity in the stories they shared, and it was clear that the residents are genuinely loved and well taken care of. During my time there, I filmed an interview with both administrators and employees, and hearing their passion for what they do really stood out to me.
