there are nice counselors there, who are usually ready to work with their clients to teach them how to cope with life's ups & downs instead of relying on substances to get thru the day. if things arent working out with 1 counselor, dont give up on treatment! you can switch counselors with no problem. its worth it to maintain a support system that can increase your chances of staying away from problem drinking or any other addiction that may be plaguing your life.

I was here as a 17 year old patient in 2009 when it was SOASTC. I truly had a wonderful time at the facility in Merlin. I feel the program helped me out while I was in treatment at SOASTC Merlin. My time there was excellent and yes I had behavioral issues at times but I did learn a lot and it really helped me the program. I was a troubled youth that needed help. I was treated good by the staff. I really liked my therapist Shane. I truly do recommend this program. It really helped me out and I do believe that people can change from their ways. I miss the good old days at SOASTC. I have to say all the staff were awesome. I miss them all.. Jeff Moyer was funny. I miss him and everyone who use to work there. SOASTC will always be a part of me. I am now 30 years old, I always miss the good old days.

Do not recommend. Spent almost a year here a few years back and am just now getting the strength to review. So much trauma came from this place. I was S/A by another patient, then punished for it. Treated horribly, had another patient threaten to r*pe and kill me all because an employee had a conversation with me rather than her and was still forced to stay in the room next to her. After getting off a feeding tube was told my ED isn’t real because I wasnt skinny enough by my therapist. Was given bruises during autistic burnouts and panic attacks. Was lied to and used as a lab rat as they put my on close to 30 medications in a span of 8 months. Was given anti psychotic medications for ptsd resulting in hallucinations etc. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE.

Outstanding experience overall and I’ve learned more about the way our minds process through your information than anywhere else. Staff are amazing and missed. Much love from Eastern Oregon as this side of the state crumbles from the lack of people like you guys.
Also any of these people who left a bad review are most likely narcissistic, pathological liars, psychologically abusive people, or people who can’t take accountability for actions.
I run into it every day. The only people who oppose this training are people who typically just refuse to treat others correctly.
Instead they get offended and treat people who are doing what’s right incorrectly. I could make changes with what I’ve learned if I had the power to do more over here. I’ve tried but people who are manipulative seem to have the power over here.
Any of you who complain need to readjust your opinions and try moving to a new area.
It’s too easy to create an issue just because you can’t do the right thing. It’s part of this training. Most people can’t do the right thing as soon as they are upset.
Anyone who’s upset in these reviews is the exact thing they train you to ignore because it’s a spiteful response and you aren’t using a logical thought process. Keep it to yourself. Don’t go looking for issues months or years later just because your life isn’t what you wanted it to be.

DUI and DUI related incidents are truly world shaking and embarrassing. It can be shameful, it can be something you don’t want to think you are capable of. I wrote a review for Lane Co Behavorial Health services (LCBH), when I was new, and trusted the guidance. After that review, I ended up in the ER, at McKenzie-Willamette where the Doctors and the Respiratory Therapists were appalled that I had been given a psychotropic prescription med , by a LCBH Prescriber, that had depressed my Central Nervous System. It had depressed my drive to breathe, over a long period of time (2 yrs), unknown to myself or any doctor/test that might have been run, until there was an event where the excessive carbon dioxide running thru my blood stream had caused permanent damage to my internal organs. After titrating off that medication, over a 6 month period of time, monitoring the carbon dioxides in my blood, the poisons from carbon dioxide had dropped dramatically.
After our "Covid epidemic" approx 80% of the staff, at the main branch on Martin Luther King Blvd and satellite clinics, left their jobs: re-priortizing their commitment, moving on, actually being fired for misconduct (1 PCP, and 2 counselors that I know of), or
retiring. LCBH was desperate, and hired a bunch of "newbys" to the crew: counselors trying to get clinical hours so as to take the written test and get licensed, with absolutely no experience. Prescribers of very serious psychotropic drugs, that are actually Nurses with a 2 year degree, and PCP's that speak English as their 2nd Language. The clerical staff cannot figure out how to use the scheduling calendar, or get the copy machine to print black&white instead of color. The Pharmerica Pharmacy that is onsite, are making errors in prescriptions and mis-counting, and their billing department is making $ errors.
Be very careful. I would NEVER recommend this business to anyone I love. 3/100 people that work at LCBH are ethical, and experienced. I was told by one of these 3, last week (7/2/25), that he is very aware of the change in quality at LCBH. As a mater of fact, he is the one that equated this decline to "after Covid" and he stated that he is just trying to hold on till he can get the retirement benefits that working for the County offers.
Be very Careful.

Medford is the 64th most expensive city nationwide for addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $60338. This is comparable to the average cost of $58894 for addiction treatment in Oregon and higher than the national average cost for drug rehab of $57,193.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Medford vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of medical detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, and medication assisted treatment. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below. There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Medford. Most rehab treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Medford that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here's the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment near Medford.
UnitedHealth Group is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Medford, with 4 treatment centers in the city accepting their insurance. Aetna is the 2nd most popular with 3 treatment centers accepting it followed by Blue Cross Blue Shield in 3rd accepted by 3 drug rehabs.
Medford has the 37th highest rate of drug use nationwide among nearly 400 cities surveyed. This number reflects the combined use of cocaine, heroin, meth, and marijuana, displayed individually below. The percent shown for each drug represents the number of residents in Jackson county that have reported ever using the following drugs, so these numbers should not be interpreted as direct evidence of current drug use in Medford or Jackson county as a whole.
In 2023, Medford had the 144th highest number narcotics violations out of 330 cities nationwide, with a total of 505 reported drug-related incidents that year. This includes cases of public intoxication, drug arrests, narcotics found during house calls and traffic stops, and any other drug-related crime.
Keep in mind these numbers are dependent on accurate record keeping and reporting laws by local police and sheriffs, and may not fully reflect all drug related crime in Medford. All values are per 100,000 population.
