Fullbrook is a really special place with people who genuinely care about the women and families they work with. The staff are compassionate, supportive, and clearly take the time to get to know each person rather than treating everyone the same. Addiction is incredibly hard on both the person struggling and the people who love them, and I really appreciate the way Fullbrook recognizes that. They provide a lot of support while still giving women the structure and accountability they need to move forward. You can tell the people there truly care about the work they do and want to see their clients succeed. I would absolutely recommend Fullbrook to anyone looking for help for themselves or someone they love.

Loved my time at Fullbrook. I’m beyond blessed that I was able to have a chance to understand and process my addiction and trauma through this program. Amazing staff that can relate and be so personable and open about their experiences makes it so raw, real and relatable. I made some of my best friends and unbreakable connections there. First and foremost, the kitchen is the star of the show here. You come for a life change, but you really stay for the food and for the kitchen manager, Andrea, who I call Ms. Drea. It’s amazing to see how much influence she has over the community and how positive she is every single day. No matter what, she sees the good in everyone. There is nothing you can say that will shake her kindness or her belief in people. She truly has a place in heaven. The operations manager, Tara, is extremely involved. She is kind, but firm when she needs to be, which makes her a great leader. She has an open door policy, and if you ever have an issue, you can walk straight into her office and she will take it seriously, no matter how small it may seem. She actually does something about it. She keeps the place well stocked. There is never a shortage of snacks, and she even asks clients what they want and makes sure it’s there. She is always busy, but she will stop what she’s doing to give you her full attention. That speaks volumes. Haley, one of the main counselors, runs extremely structured and organized groups. She makes sure every single person has the opportunity to share and that everyone is heard. She listens carefully and responds thoughtfully, whether someone is on topic or not. Her groups feel safe, comfortable, and respectful. You genuinely learn things about yourself that you never expected to learn. She creates an environment where people can actually open up. Shad and Jordan are also excellent counselors. Jordan is very intelligent and clearly cares deeply about the clients. He openly expresses that he cares, and you can feel that sincerity. Shad brings a tremendous amount of experience, and if you ever want to dive deep into a topic and really understand it, he’s the person to talk to. Vance is a really cool guy who gets along with everyone. He speaks to you like a human being and treats you with respect. He participates, engages, and genuinely seems to love what he does. He helps make the environment feel welcoming and real. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the breakfast. While they do provide cereal and options in the morning, it’s not always a well balanced breakfast, and it would be nice to have more consistent protein options. Something simple like microwavable breakfast sandwiches would make a big difference. Other than that, this place is incredible. The staff is kind, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping people rebuild their lives. They provide real resources, including help with housing and funding, and they don’t just send you back out into the world without support. They help guide you forward. If you are serious about changing your life, Serenity House can absolutely give you a new mindset and the tools you need to move forward. Highly recommended

There are many VA hospitals and clinics in Texas, but this one might very well be the best. It’s not the most convenient location for me as it’s about 90 miles from my home, but I’ll continue receiving care there even with other options closer. My first visit was a few days ago and I worked with members of both the red and orange team. Each and every one of them was extremely kind, helpful, and it was clear they all really enjoyed what they were doing, and took great pride in providing healthcare to Veterans. If you’re considering the Kerrville VA Hospital as option for treatment, give it a try, you won’t regret it. I’m really proud to know these folks are doing such a great job at providing services to Veterans in the hill country area of Texas.

My experience with the Kerrville VA hospital and its staff is very encouraging and excellent. I am fortunate to have experience health care with a ppo insurance care and my care at Kerrville VA, surpasses the long scheduling and in and out visit with private medical care. I have been assigned to the gold team with my primary Dr. Llanos who is diligent in taking his time in his examination, listening and making suggestions to the different treatments regarding my disabilities. My pharmacist Dr. Rodgers has been responsible for correcting and adjusting my medication and suggesting correcting eating habits to my lifestyle. For years I had previously been treated by diabetic clinic in San Antonio where my AC1 was averaging between 8 and as high as 12. My Agent Orange disabilities to include my diabetes is as good as it will get for now with my AC 1 averaging 7.5 to 7.8. I did experience some very disappointing experiences with San Antonio VA and private medical care. The Pharmacy employees onsite Kerrville our second to none in the private sector. VA care should be the type of care that is deserving for all who served our Nation especially during wartime. Much gratitude to all the staff and caretakers for their caring and service to our Veterans with the upmost respect and care.

La Hacienda truly changed my life. I’ve been to treatment centers all over the state of Texas, and La Hacienda was the last treatment center I ever had to go to. The 28 days I spent there helped save my life and gave me the foundation I needed for long term recovery. The staff genuinely care and are always available to help, encourage, and support clients through every stage of the process. The program is strongly rooted in a 12 step approach, which was exactly what I needed, while also offering specialized programming to meet different individual needs. The campus is beautiful, peaceful, and very clean, creating an environment where healing feels possible. The medical staff were also incredible and made me feel safe and cared for throughout my stay. I will always be grateful for the experience I had at La Hacienda and for the role they played in helping me rebuild my life.

Our family’s experience with LaHa left a lasting impression on me. My son first went there at a time when he wasn’t ready to embrace recovery and after that, he spent time at many other treatment centers. When he finally reached the point where he was ready to get better La Hacienda was the place he wanted to go. That spoke volumes to me. Out of everywhere he had been, La Hacienda was the place where he felt the most comfortable and cared for. It was a place that made him believe that recovery was possible. As a mother, I understood very little about addiction so I attended 4 different family programs at his various treatment centers and the one at LaHa was by far the best. When my son returned to LaHa he specifically asked his dad to attend the family session. It was here that he finally understood addiction as a disease and was given the perspective he needed to not only support our son’s recovery but his own through attending our local Alanon. We highly recommend La Hacienda.

I was a client here and stayed for 3 months. I honestly only had the intention to stay 1. Each month I agreed to extend because this place was worth it. One of my character flaws is perfectionism and I could complain about some small issues, but honestly that's irrelevant to the support and care I received. After detox, I was assigned the absolute best therapist I have ever had and several amazing recovery coaches that helped me work through my personal issues, legal problems, and my FMLA so I had a job to return to. I learned more about mental health, addictions, and coping skills then I ever expected. I met lot of amazing friends that I still keep in regular contact with since my departure and most of the staff are incredibly loving and caring. Food and facility cleanliness was also great. Overall, I had my ups and downs, but was shown to overcome them and have been thriving more than I had in a long time before arriving to windmill. God always keeps my life "interesting", but I'm glad this place came into my life.

I went into rehab scared, and unknowing of what to expect. Once I got there, Robert (head tech) and Angie (one of the many amazing nurses) made me feel very safe & welcomed me, explained the rules in detail and were willing to help me with whatever I needed. I did the intake process & got settled into detox. The next few days I went to classes and they opened my eyes to staying longer than my original plan which was just for detox. I stayed the whole 45 day program and it was the best decision for me. Some days were harder than others but the technicians - like Courtney, Karissa, Raven, Tito, Chris, JJ, and Sonny. - really made such a huge difference in my stay. Not only do some of them teach the courses but they are with us day to day & get to help us in some of the darkest toughest moments. Others that really helped were counselors - like Andrew, Jennifer, Chelsea, and Katie - with the curriculum, and sessions placed to help us not have to worry about outside troubles, and just to feel comfortable in our recovery. It made all the difference. And for the aftercare, there is Ripple Ranch Continuum Outreach Program, and our fantastic alumni coordinator Skyler Wellman. If anyone needs literally anything ever, he’s the man to go too, his heart and passion for the recovery in every stage is beautiful and awe inspiring. ✨ Not to mention the wonderful chefs in the kitchen who make us 3 wonderful tasty meals a day. And Ms.Nettie - can’t forget that most amazing woman✨💛 kept me strong even when I didn’t think I had anymore left in me. 🌸✨ Ripple became my home for 45 days when I needed it the very most. The connections I’ve made there will last a lifetime & I am so so grateful for it. ✨💛

Ripple Ranch was exactly what I needed and I am grateful for the staff, medical team, and counselors. I joined at one of the lowest points in my life and the work was not easy but the support from the team pushed me through the program and greatly improved my recovery and sobriety. The team cares about their alumni and treats you with dignity, care, and love. Very grateful they had me as a patient and I would recommend going if you are serious about getting sober.

Nova is far from perfect, and some of the information can be misleading. But if you want to dive deep into the 12 Steps while enjoying good food and a beautiful scenic view, this is the place for you. The staff is great — the RAs and techs are friendly and genuinely care. The woman who runs it, however, can be unreasonable and enforces some silly rules (like not being allowed to save your food for later — insanity), but fortunately, she’s not around much. Jeff and Korn are the ones who really run the show. They have a ton of recovery experience and are both awesome guys who truly care. Jeff changed my life and helped save my marriage, so the place gets five stars from me for that reason alone. Thank you to Jeff, Korn, Cassandra, Jen, Leon Phelps, Aaron, and the rest of the staff!

This placed saved my life and introduced me to a world that was hidden in plain site: a community of selfless people everywhere that are apart of Starlite or have been clients of Starlite. Starlite's help, their staff from top to bottom, have done the impossible task of getting me back on feet and with hope in my mind that I can do this. I’m truly grateful for my experience at Starlite Recovery Center. The support, encouragement, and sense of community made a meaningful difference in my journey. I was just discharged from The Right Step, Wimberley, TX, yesterday. This place and all of their AMAZING staff, including RAs, Counselor, Doctors, Nurses, Kitchen staff SAVED MY LIFE! After years of addiction I feel stronger and more equipped to face this disease head on. There are only minor things I would change: I think the women should have a large covered smoking area like the men do. The two small covered areas would get soaked in the rain and we were still required to smoke there. We would have to stand there to have a cigarette because chairs were soaked. It was cold, wet and uncomfortable. I think the women deserve an equivalent to the men, who have a large roof covered patio. It's only fair. Otherwise, not much to complain about. Some staff were better, kinder than others, but I won't name drop here. Overall, I would definitely choose them over again. Going to Right Step was the best decision of my life and I am grateful beyond words!

My son was at this facility. At first I had a few little issues with some of the staff but learned my son was the issue not the staff. The 2 staff members I dealt with the most were Crystal and Austin and I have the upmost respect for them they both had went above and beyond to try to help my son with his issues and he ended up needing to go to a more strict facility and Austin and Crystal went above and beyond to find a facility that could help him better and Crystal went above and beyond and took time out of her busy day to take him to that facility so I didn’t have to drive for 2 days to get there to take him. I am forever grateful for everything Austin and Crystal have done to get my son the help he needs.

Recovery unplugged changed my life in ways I never thought possible. The care for their clients went far beyond my expectations of rehabilitation centers. My counselor LuLu helped me find the understanding of myself needed to move forward from active addiction, my case manager Chloe provided me the resources needed to take the next steps, and my Alumni Coordinator Natalie has an incomparable heart for those in recovery as they take those next steps. The program also entrenches you in the Austin recovery community, intentionally becoming the connective tissue with society needed for rehabilitation from addiction. As someone who never wanted to step into rehab, I would recommend the program to anyone.

Long story short, 35 years of hard drinking landed me in a ditch in a city I'm not even from. But I thank GOD every day for it! My desperation for change got me to Briarwood detox center. I was so scared but I was unusually willing to do anything, the night before waking up in that ditch I was contemplating suicide, again. For so many years I watched my life fall apart time and time again, over and over. I really never understood why I was unable to control my drinking. Leaving Briarwood and while being transported to Nova recovery center I didn't know what to expect but my anger and anxiety were already building. I still can't get over how amazing Nova looks, it pretty much relaxes you the minute you arrive! I had never been to "rehab" before so I was blown away by the beauty of the amenities and the attentive staff. So with that said, I was sweet and grateful to be there for about 48 hours and then I started being the walking talking character defect stage character I was, telling everyone how they should do their jobs and finding things, if not inventing things to complain about. I still get embarrassed sometimes of my actions and comments I made the first weeks of my stay. But what stands out is how the staff didn't even blink! I never got the reaction I would of deserved! I was loved on! I was given understanding and compassion! They treated me like the sick person who needed help, that I was! They dug in and held me accountable with truth and what I referrer to as grace. The Recovery specialist who work with us, for us and teach us vital solutions to my disease of alcoholism that I will be forever grateful for. From the frequent individual counseling sessions to the daily group counseling classes to the, "hey I need to talk!", I received an understanding of how to maintain my life of sobriety! Nova is a very important and special place to me so I could really go on and on but the main point I want to testify about is this, I'm truly a better person today because of the dedication to helping people by the Nova recovery family! I came here barely alive, hopelessly alcoholic after years of heavy daily drinking. Going on 15 months sober. I wouldnt be here if it wasn't for them. I thought I'd need a 30-day program after, but i felt so much better by day 5 that I resolved to not drink again, and still havent. They have the drug cocktail down to a science, I barely felt any serious withdrawls. The nurses are very attentive albeit DMV-ish at times, which is a good thing in that context. The staff is very kind and caring, experienced and understanding. No nurse ratchet here. You will be frustrated by some of their institutional policies, but they do a good job explaining why those policies are in place without being overbearing or condescending. The reasons I gave it 4 stars, not 5. This is not an indictment but constructive criticism, and a warning about what to expect if these issues matter to you: The food seems to be mostly cooked off site and reheated. It's stale institutional slop, with processed food snacks left out. Nothing on the menu is fresh or natural. I had some food sensitivites and they had trouble wrapping their heads around it. I ended up mostly eating fruit cups and bagels with cream cheese. You cannot order food in. This policy is in place because people will try to sneak things in and this facility does take on patients who are there against their wishes via parents, employment deal, or court order. If you're running a detox, you may want to consider serving healthier food? Fresh fruit instead of canned? some high fiber grains? real meat, not frozen food? I brought this up. Hopefully they fixed it. There wasn't much to do there. They had a room full of movie theater seats with a flatscreen, a broken guitar, some supermarket books, AA stuff, and a set of chairs outside. Mostly you sit around and talk, watch tv, or sleep. It's a small property but you can walk laps. There's no counseling at the detox. Some AA volunteer groups shows up once in a while to talk. It may be helpful for some. There should be an on site counselor that does that job full time. Everyone else has their own specific job and sitting down and talking to people 1 on 1 didnt seem to be part of the description. They seem to be focused entirely on the medical detox aspect of the process. If you need rehab, you do that after, or find a rehab that does detox on site.

Heartwood Recovery truly saved my life. From the moment I got there, I felt like I was surrounded by people who actually cared about me and wanted to see me succeed. Being a young adult in recovery can be difficult, but Heartwood does an amazing job helping younger guys feel comfortable, connected, and understood. One of the biggest things I took away from Heartwood was the brotherhood. I built real relationships with people who were going through the same things as me, and that made a huge difference in my recovery. The combination of the 12 steps, clinical support, recovery coaches, and staff gave me the structure and tools I needed to start building a better life. The outings were great, the food was honestly amazing, and the entire staff made Heartwood feel more like a community than a treatment center. Overall good treatment center. Great therapists and all that. If you’re looking for addiction treatment I’d definitely try applying to go there. But if you need mental health treatment, you’d best look elsewhere since they only deal with mental health as it relates to addiction. Just coping skills training & some psych-ed. Not much art therapy if that’s your thing. Also, they don’t really help you find a job so just be aware of that too. I would go to them again if I relapsed I guess. They’ll get you to 6 months sober at least. Being discharged too early before I felt like I was ready activated my abandonment wound though.

My experience with Alpha (Now Release) was wonderful. This is where my experience with addiction recovery became enjoyable not just a chore. I found a distinctive unique experience. They helped me learn how to live in the outside world and experience life in ways that changed my perspective of the world. This place really can provide change to people’s life from life skills to recovery while still having fun at the same time.

I would like to share that Recovery Unplugged, Albert Road, is a step above all the rest. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful, nursing staff is compassionate and caring and let me say the therapists are the best. The food is on par and the activities are fun and exciting. I also want to mention the alumni coordinators Sarah and Ross, big kudos to them. They are always big fun!

Oh man, this place is a game-changer! I never thought a rehab situation could be so much fun, AND help me achieve my ultimate goal of sobriety. This place did both. The staff is invested, the food is stellar, the Alumni team has been an absolute pleasure to work with. They even host weekly hangs for us! Run, don’t walk. 5-stars!

I can't say enough good things about this rehab. Walking through the doors was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. The staff truly cared about my recovery and treated me with compassion, respect, and understanding every step of the way, from residential to outpatient services as well as the alumni program. The counselors and support staff created a safe environment where I could be honest, heal, and learn the tools I needed to build a new life. They believed in me even when I struggled to believe in myself. If you or someone you love is battling addiction, I highly recommend this program. Recovery is possible, and this place gave me the foundation to begin that journey. I will always be grateful SARC!

I had a very positive experience with Austin Recovery Center in downtown Austin while completing my IOP counseling program. Hector A. was sincere, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to, and he made it comfortable to have meaningful conversations about some of life's more difficult experiences. His guidance helped me work through an uneasy period in a positive and constructive way, and I'm proud to say I successfully completed the program. Although I completed the program requirements, I still check in from time to time at the downtown location. I always feel comfortable there and leave with a positive experience. I'm grateful for the support I received from Hector and the Austin Recovery Center team and would recommend them to anyone looking for a supportive and understanding environment during their recovery.
