| Kerrville Health Care System in South Texas is a center that provides primary care and other medical support for veterans and military members. Among the services offered are mental health, and behavioral care, including addiction treatment. Kerrville Health Care System in South Texas is a center that provides primary care and other medical support | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I have been at VA Kerrville since 2018, although many issues with the entire STVA system I enjoy being out here. I have had my same healthcare team and used the same patient advocate since and because I advocate for my self using the tools the VA has given is the only reason I think my Health care is decent enough. Community care in the South Texas Hill country is slow but I prefer my PCP/PCM (Pink Team) over Audi Murphy (felt like cattle going to slaughter) any day. I just moved back to my home of record in SA and I will choose to drive out to Kerrville VA. The Lab, X-ray and Cantina are excellent compared with others as far as customer service and knowledge goes in my experience.

I have been receiving care here for four years and have been satisfied with my care. The nurses and doctors are attentive, caring and competent. If you have questions, bring a list so you don't forget anything important. Appointments have minimal waiting time, and prescriptions are sent to my home.

Love the staff at Kerrville VA, all the way from house cleaning, volunteers, maintenance staff to clerks and medical staff. "Hi, hello, how are you" are heard often in the hallways. I'm seen on the Pink Team and I could not get better care and treatment from clerks to medical providers. The Optometry clinic is small but never an issue getting an appointment. The clerk acknowledges patients quickly. Optometrists are very through. The eye glass department has a very knowledgeable staff, good selection of frames and staff is well trained to help pick the right frame for the right face.

My experience with Brittany, an addiction specialist with La Hacienda, occurred by chance. I was given her name as a person that "knew the ins and outs of Texas rehab centers". I finally called her when a different rehab center said they were out of network, but then still recommend La Hacienda and contacting Brittany as a first choice.I was in the position of trying to help my friend recover from a severe addiction. I'd been trying to be effective in my attempts for 2 yrs. I had compromised my rules and boundaries to allow for communication with my friend. I was depressed & overwhelmed with the process. I felt an extreme obligation to make this work at any cost. I further felt failure because I am a physician myself. This is what I am supposed to be capable of doing. This is the state of mind I was in when Brittany answered my phone call.Brittany is a well-organized open book. She weaves her own journey with her extensive knowledge of how addiction works. This made her a welcomed voice of both reason and structure to a rapidly deteriorating situation. We called my friend together. I was worried my friend would simply decline to talk to her or become angry about a percieved ambush. This was his initial reaction. He attempted to end the conversation almost immediately. Brittany used empathy, humor, and an explanation of what the call was truly about - to ask my friend how he was doing allowing for a connection to be made between them. She successfully kept my friend on the phone for over an hour. She had him laughing. I have 15 years of experience being a physician, and I was beyond impressed at Brittany's ability to maintain approachibility while talking about issues that would usually shut my friend down. She bypassed egos, she bypassed the fear of judgement, and the fear of being confronted. I truly felt I was on the phone with the person that would give my friend the best chance at recovery. I now know that feeling occurred because I was on the phone with that person.Brittany also helped me. She helped me realize the limitations of my voice due to my position as a friend. She helped me communicate with my friend's family. She was on the call when my friend's family was introduced to the reality of a situation that had gone unacknowledged for too long. Any acknowledgement they had given the situation resulted in denial of its severity and attempts to correct a complex disease such as addiction with quick, ineffective solutions. I do not blame them. Reality can be devastating.Brittany is an example of how healthcare is supposed to operate - insightful vast knowledge and experience delievered with a compassionate honesty that allows each person involved to be heard.Brittany remained in active contact with me throughout the process. She lent a sympathetic ear to my concerns. I assumed she would not want to hear a story she has likely heard too many times. I was wrong. Every call was met with advice, pointing out incorrect thoughts of self-blame, and an optimism that I could no longer provide.I consider Brittany a friend now. It would be hard not to as she has spoken to my friend and myself with a depth of emotional intelligence and realness that went beyond her responsibilities.Unfortunately, this process can be an extensively exhausting and negative experience.Fortunately, people like Brittany actually exist. I am so thankful for her. I love knowing she is out there helping others. The physician side of me viewed Brittany as an emotionally intelligent, invested, passionate individual that any healthcare provider would consider a central asset to the success of the treatment plan.As this is a Google review, I will attempt to end with a more succinct statement:Brittany saves lives.Brittany gives hope and has the skills to achieve success. I thought my friend was gone. I will forever be thankful and consider myself lucky to have connected with Brittany.Without a doubt, I highly recommend contacting her. It does not matter what stage you or your loved one is in - her addition to the process is invaluable.

I just wanted to thank Robert for his exceptional and heartfelt help when my boyfriend needed help the most. Robert was always there, tiredlessly. He was always calm, collected, very professional, yet friendly, a great listener and he took all measures necessary to save, yet, another precious life! I hope someone else reading this will know that WH does care for our brave soldiers, who at times, are not able to use that same bravery to help themselves. If it wasn't for Robert I do not know what would have happened to my sweetest and kind boyfriend. Robert listened to me many times a day, and today, because of Robert and the other valuable Warriors Heart's staff, my boyfriend is on the road to a new life, stronger to fight the evils that may come upon him. Robert, our whole-heartedly thank you for all your effort and efficiency. May life be good to you!

There's one place on earth that I'm sincerely and honestly grateful for and that's Ripple Ranch. Coming from a man who abused drugs for over 40 yrs and I'm only 56 suddenly got tired of all the things that were slowly tearing me apart and killing me physically from my appearance to my health and seeing the scary man I was becoming made me run to God and ask for forgiveness and to truly save me cause I do want to live and wanted me family and real friend's back but most of all serve my purpose here on earth doing his will and that's when God prepared a place for me beginning at Ripple Ranch and thru that opportunity I have begun to gain access to all the important factors in life I was mistreating and taking for granted. After graduating with God leading me throughout all my days, I can genuinely say that this place cares for each and every individual that arrives for help and change and the awesome techs that work there wholeheartedly somehow pour a little extra concern into those who second guess or have hidden reservations that arise throughout there stay, and with the community (all the clients present) makes a bigger difference showing all the daily love they have for one another is just the reason that kept me involved and willing to be part of the solution and escape the real problem and for that I appreciate Ripple Ranch for giving me the chance and help me become the sober man I am today and I give all glory to God.

For free health care, I don t know why I complain. Probably because I'm a salty lil Karen who can barely get out of bed and when I do; I'm mad I've been to several VAs and Shavano typically completes everything I ask for help with, even if it takes forever. And I really like Dr K.Overall with VA healthcare, or pretty much anything nowdays; being direct and asking for what you need WITH UNLIMITED PATIENCE gets the best results.***ORIGINAL POST***I've been seeing my Shavano Park team since October, and I like the location and staff. Dr K is great. Today there was some hub-bub with the fire department and I was forgotten about in the waiting room and ended up having to be there a few extra hours The pros to this was the waiting room was comfortable, the staff was funny and I got to get halfway through my new library book. The only suggestion I would make would be maybe some feng shui (zen water fountain and tranquil pictures perhaps?) and coffee station/healthy snacks for the waiting room. Where there s a smile, luck arrives.

First and foremost I want to say I would give SOBA a million stars if I could. Many leave false reviews and I witnessed this multiple times.Addicts know how to manipulate and are the best of the best at doing so.SOBA has rules in place for 100% success and 100% safety for all in treatment. If you violated the rules you must be terminated to keep it a safe environment for all of us that want to heal.If a client is discharged at the fault of their own actions the first thing I heard multiple times is I am going to leave a bad review.Thank you SOBA for taking a false bad review and keeping this a safe place to recover.Sadly to say we are a family of 8 (YES 8) that reside in Michigan and have recovered out of state only because of SOBA.We all have years of sobriety due to the highest standards SOBA has set to teach you a beautiful new way instead of using mind altering substances.I was petrified at age 45 to enter a treatment center and I had an extremely bad attitude when I arrived!I was determined to find something wrong with SOBA so I could have a reason to leave.SOBA is different than the other treatment centers we tried multiple times in Michigan. We all failed on numerous attempts.SOBA is loving, kind, knowledgeable, safe and a peaceful place to recover.SOBA far exceed my expectations and I stayed in treatment for 16 months. Our children (3) stayed in treatment for 2 years. My sister and nephews also recovered at SOBA with a lengthy stay in sober living. It is so important to reside in sober living after inpatient and do the work. Leaving treatment early will end in failure. If it were not for SOBA I can honestly say several of us would not be alive today.

I am truly grateful for the extra effort they put into making the blood draw process as smooth as possible. However, scheduling appointments with Pediq-lab has been somewhat challenging. Despite multiple attempts from various doctor's offices to send the required paperwork, the scheduling team frequently claims they haven t received the fax, even when I provide confirmation numbers. These faxes are often sent multiple times but still don t appear in the system, sometimes even after 2 or 3 weeks. This forces me to visit the doctor's office in person to collect the paperwork and personally deliver it to the lab, which is especially difficult given my son's special needs. When I raised this concern with the scheduling team, I was told they couldn t confirm when faxes would be processed. On another occasion, despite explaining that this has been a recurring issue, the representative was unable to resolve the situation, and the call ended without any resolution. It would be extremely helpful if the scheduling team could ensure that faxes are processed in a timely manner, as it would greatly simplify the appointment scheduling process for caretakers who already have a lot to manage.During my most recent visit, I had to drive to the doctor s office again to retrieve the fax. However, Margo, the incredible nurse, took it upon herself to personally fax it for me. She didn t have to do this, but she did, and I m truly grateful for her effort. Afterward, the scheduling team went ahead and scheduled the appointment after I mentioned that Margo had faxed it directly from NCB. I brought the hard copy with me to be on the safe side.Margo and Cory are exceptional professionals who consistently go above and beyond to provide excellent care. I am deeply thankful for everything they do. They are real gems in the medical field, and I can t express enough how much I appreciate them. The 5 stars is for Margo and Cory. Thank you, Margo and Cory!

| The Windmill Wellness Ranch is an inpatient rehab and recovery center located close to San Antonio in Canyon Lake, Texas. Here, they treat adults with substance use and co-occurring (dual diagnosis) disorders. If you’re a veteran then it’s good to know that the center is in-network with TRICARE insurance. They also accept most major insurance. | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I am a born pessimist, so I spent a great deal of time looking into this place. First, I found nothing negative whatsoever, Secondly, I spent 60 days here and cried leaving. This place and ALL of it's staff saved my life. I can remember spending countless times in the nurses station, at the wellness advocates desk, and even in the Blanco hall, talking to the different staff about my days, my problems, my achievements, etc. And EVERY SINGLE PERSON TOOK THE TIME TO LISTEN AND HELP OR CHEER ME ON!! There's not a staff member in this place that doesn't care about each person. The therapy sessions are incredible and I can't thank them enough for showing me I wasn't hopeless and giving me all the tools I need to have a beautiful, healthy and sober life. I am 45 years old, and I never thought this was possible.

Windmill Wellness Ranch has truly changed my life in ways I never expected. I ve been to multiple treatment facilities over the last decade and felt that I was mentally, physically and spiritually hopeless. I felt I was a lost cause. I have had experience with 12 step programs before and assumed this experience would be like the others. I was wrong. Windmill Wellness Ranch and the staff they employ offer so much more than just a place to get sober and try twelve steps. From the admissions personnel to the wellness advocates, the therapists and the recovery coaches, I ve never met a team of people so willing to bend over backwards to help me reach my personal goals. Through WWR I was able to process a great deal of trauma successfully, while at the same time gain some phenomenal insight on how to grow in a life centered around permanent sobriety. The employees genuinely care about people and most are in recovery themselves. My time at Windmill Wellness Ranch has truly made a permanent positive impact in my life and in the lives of the people I love.

Nova Recovery Center offers a full range of treatment options for adults struggling with substance use disorders. The | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Long story short, 35 years of hard drinking landed me in a ditch in a city I'm not even from. But I thank GOD every day for it! My desperation for change got me to Briarwood detox center. I was so scared but I was unusually willing to do anything, the night before waking up in that ditch I was contemplating suicide, again. For so many years I watched my life fall apart time and time again, over and over. I really never understood why I was unable to control my drinking. Leaving Briarwood and while being transported to Nova recovery center I didn't know what to expect but my anger and anxiety were already building. I still can't get over how amazing Nova looks, it pretty much relaxes you the minute you arrive! I had never been to "rehab" before so I was blown away by the beauty of the amenities and the attentive staff. So with that said, I was sweet and grateful to be there for about 48 hours and then I started being the walking talking character defect stage character I was, telling everyone how they should do their jobs and finding things, if not inventing things to complain about. I still get embarrassed sometimes of my actions and comments I made the first weeks of my stay. But what stands out is how the staff didn't even blink! I never got the reaction I would of deserved! I was loved on! I was given understanding and compassion! They treated me like the sick person who needed help, that I was! They dug in and held me accountable with truth and what I referrer to as grace. The Recovery specialist who work with us, for us and teach us vital solutions to my disease of alcoholism that I will be forever grateful for. From the frequent individual counseling sessions to the daily group counseling classes to the, "hey I need to talk!", I received an understanding of how to maintain my life of sobriety! Nova is a very important and special place to me so I could really go on and on but the main point I want to testify about is this, I'm truly a better person today because of the dedication to helping people by the Nova recovery family!Sincerely,Dustin

I really needed some accountability and to be around other sober people after a relapse on alcohol in August. I signed up for the online IOP service and my counselor was Jasmine. She was amazing. I found myself looking forward to group everyday and felt a great relief of wanting to use after group. It helped me stay sober and maintain abstinence from alcohol I am truly grateful for the program. Jasmine is amazing and I consider her a good friend at this point she was able to talk me out of using my stinking thinking a lot of times and evaluate my situations from another perspective, which helped me get away from the parts of me that contribute to relapse.

I'm going on 80 days sober because this place helped me. I loved the Trauma inpatient program. PHP was okay, I felt like it was lacking counseling and also I felt like it was non stop getting in and out of busses. You'll get your phone on lunch and like 90min on Saturday which is nice. But on Sunday when you should be calling friends and family you don't get your phone. The house on 1st street stayed nasty. I brought it up to the techs several times and nothing changed. I would give this place 5 stars but the aftercare completely sucked. I had no idea how sober houses worked or how to get into one. I had to stress out my final day because I had nowhere to go. Also I had no idea how to get a scholarship or even fill my meds... im in their IOP program currently and I'm enjoying it. Aftercare definitely needs to be worked on. I've also talked to many people after they got through with PHP and they had the same opinion. Thanksz that's my Ted Talk.

Recovery Services For Young Men The facil | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Our experience with Alpha has been nothing short of transformative for my 15-year-old son. When we first sought help following my son's overdose, I was overwhelmed with concern and uncertainty. But from the very first phone call, the staff made us feel supported and heard. The intake process was smooth, and they took the time to carefully explain every step of the program, ensuring we were fully informed and comfortable moving forward. The team of counselors, therapists, and support staff is exceptional. They truly understand the challenges young people face and have a unique ability to connect with teens in a compassionate and non-judgmental way. My son has made incredible progress, thanks to their individualized approach that takes into account not only the addiction itself, but also the emotional, psychological, and social factors that contribute to it.What stands out most about this center is their holistic approach. They don t just treat the addiction they work on building self-esteem, coping strategies, and life skills that are crucial for long-term success. The therapists created a safe space for my son to open up, express his feelings, and rebuild trust. It s clear that the staff genuinely care about the well-being of their patients and their families. The outpatient program was tailored to my son's needs, allowing us to balance treatment with school and other activities. The center also encourages family involvement and offers parental support and therapy, which has been crucial for my understanding and support of my son's recovery journey. The progress I've seen in my teenager over the past few months is remarkable. Not only has he shown an improved attitude toward his recovery, but I've also noticed a significant positive shift in his overall mood and outlook on life.
