I’ve been to treatment centers all over the state of Texas, and La Hacienda was the last treatment center I ever had to go to. The 28 days I spent there helped save my life and gave me the foundation I needed for long term recovery. The staff genuinely care and are always available to help, encourage, and support clients through every stage of the process. The program is strongly rooted in a 12 step approach, which was exactly what I needed, while also offering specialized programming to meet different individual needs. The campus is beautiful, peaceful, and very clean, creating an environment where healing feels possible. The medical staff were also incredible and made me feel safe and cared for throughout my stay. My son first went there at a time when he wasn’t ready to embrace recovery and after that, he spent time at many other treatment centers. When he finally reached the point where he was ready to get better La Hacienda was the place he wanted to go. That spoke volumes to me. Out of everywhere he had been, La Hacienda was the place where he felt the most comfortable and cared for. It was a place that made him believe that recovery was possible. As a mother, I understood very little about addiction so I attended 4 different family programs at his various treatment centers and the one at LaHa was by far the best. When my son returned to LaHa he specifically asked his dad to attend the family session. It was here that he finally understood addiction as a disease and was given the perspective he needed to not only support our son’s recovery but his own through attending our local Alanon. I came here on a path of death and destruction, and Starlite gave me the opportunity to reset my life, clear my head, and honestly look at what I was doing to myself and the people I love. One of the most important parts of my recovery was rebuilding my relationship with God, and I cannot give enough credit to Ms. Pepper and the Journey Program. The Journey Program became much more than just another class for me—it became a major part of my recovery. Ms. Pepper is an amazing woman with an incredible knowledge of God and the Bible. It’s not the most convenient location for me as it’s about 90 miles from my home, but I’ll continue receiving care there even with other options closer. My first visit was a few days ago and I worked with members of both the red and orange team. Each and every one of them was extremely kind, helpful, and it was clear they all really enjoyed what they were doing, and took great pride in providing healthcare to Veterans. If you’re considering the Kerrville VA Hospital as option for treatment, give it a try, you won’t regret it. I’m really proud to know these folks are doing such a great job at providing services to Veterans in the hill country area of Texas. I am fortunate to have experience health care with a ppo insurance care and my care at Kerrville VA, surpasses the long scheduling and in and out visit with private medical care. I have been assigned to the gold team with my primary Dr. Llanos who is diligent in taking his time in his examination, listening and making suggestions to the different treatments regarding my disabilities. My pharmacist Dr. Rodgers has been responsible for correcting and adjusting my medication and suggesting correcting eating habits to my lifestyle. For years I had previously been treated by diabetic clinic in San Antonio where my AC1 was averaging between 8 and as high as 12. My Agent Orange disabilities to include my diabetes is as good as it will get for now with my AC 1 averaging 7.5 to 7.8. I did experience some very disappointing experiences with San Antonio VA and private medical care. The Pharmacy employees onsite Kerrville our second to none in the private sector. VA care should be the type of care that is deserving for all who served our Nation especially during wartime. Much gratitude to all the staff and caretakers for their caring and service to our Veterans with the upmost respect and care. She has an open door policy, and if you ever have an issue, you can walk straight into her office and she will take it seriously, no matter how small it may seem. She actually does something about it. She keeps the place well stocked. There is never a shortage of snacks, and she even asks clients what they want and makes sure it’s there. She is always busy, but she will stop what she’s doing to give you her full attention. That speaks volumes. Haley, one of the main counselors, runs extremely structured and organized groups. She makes sure every single person has the opportunity to share and that everyone is heard. She listens carefully and responds thoughtfully, whether someone is on topic or not. Her groups feel safe, comfortable, and respectful. You genuinely learn things about yourself that you never expected to learn. She creates an environment where people can actually open up. Shad and Jordan are also excellent counselors. Jordan is very intelligent and clearly cares deeply about the clients. He openly expresses that he cares, and you can feel that sincerity. Shad brings a tremendous amount of experience, and if you ever want to dive deep into a topic and really understand it, he’s the person to talk to. Vance is a really cool guy who gets along with everyone. He speaks to you like a human being and treats you with respect. He participates, engages, and genuinely seems to love what he does. He helps make the environment feel welcoming and real. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the breakfast. While they do provide cereal and options in the morning, it’s not always a well balanced breakfast, and it would be nice to have more consistent protein options. Something simple like microwavable breakfast sandwiches would make a big difference. Other than that, this place is incredible. The staff is kind, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping people rebuild their lives. They provide real resources, including help with housing and funding, and they don’t just send you back out into the world without support. They help guide you forward. I honestly only had the intention to stay 1. Each month I agreed to extend because this place was worth it. One of my character flaws is perfectionism and I could complain about some small issues, but honestly that's irrelevant to the support and care I received. After detox, I was assigned the absolute best therapist I have ever had and several amazing recovery coaches that helped me work through my personal issues, legal problems, and my FMLA so I had a job to return to. I learned more about mental health, addictions, and coping skills then I ever expected. I met lot of amazing friends that I still keep in regular contact with since my departure and most of the staff are incredibly loving and caring. Food and facility cleanliness was also great. Overall, I had my ups and downs, but was shown to overcome them and have been thriving more than I had in a long time before arriving to windmill. Here is the scam It took me 2weeks to get into PHP adding up to a negative balance of $350 plus the $100 deposit =$450 to move in The money for the promised paid for rent has to come from Africa according to the addicts that's hired on by Mastermind who controls the balance taking additional $800 in the red adding up to $1250 in the red Once i start IOP the promise by mastermind is to pay 1/2 months rent leaving $400 left over =$1100 in the red. I was placed on a renal agreement non compliance notice even though I'm broke and cant get a job because i don't have ID placing me in fear of being kicked out of sober living leaving me homeless and displace leading to RELAP and my insurance who spent money for me to get better would start all over again because its well known the success of a homeless person would not and could not determine where he would end up at at night. The recipe seems to be get as much money from my insurance company and then start me back over again and push me on to their network buddies to take more insurance money. The two small covered areas would get soaked in the rain and we were still required to smoke there. We would have to stand there to have a cigarette because chairs were soaked. It was cold, wet and uncomfortable. I think the women deserve an equivalent to the men, who have a large roof covered patio. It's only fair. Otherwise, not much to complain about. There are plenty of IOP programs around, but the people at this center, especially Robert Kidd, are on a whole different level. Before coming to PRC in San Marcos, I had been through three treatment centers and several Intensive Outpatient Programs, with my life in complete disarray. But everything changed when I met Robert. When you show up at an IOP, it’s not on your best day—it’s one of the lowest. My family had given up on me, and I didn’t have anyone to help me sort through the wreckage of my life and guide me forward. I felt hopeless, like rebuilding my life wasn’t possible. La Hacienda truly changed my life. I’ve been to treatment centers all over the state of Texas, and La Hacienda was the last treatment center I ever had to go to. The 28 days I spent there helped save my life and gave me the foundation I needed for long term recovery. The staff genuinely care and are always available to help, encourage, and support clients through every stage of the process. The program is strongly rooted in a 12 step approach, which was exactly what I needed, while also offering specialized programming to meet different individual needs. The campus is beautiful, peaceful, and very clean, creating an environment where healing feels possible. The medical staff were also incredible and made me feel safe and cared for throughout my stay. I will always be grateful for the experience I had at La Hacienda and for the role they played in helping me rebuild my life.

Our family’s experience with LaHa left a lasting impression on me. My son first went there at a time when he wasn’t ready to embrace recovery and after that, he spent time at many other treatment centers. When he finally reached the point where he was ready to get better La Hacienda was the place he wanted to go. That spoke volumes to me. Out of everywhere he had been, La Hacienda was the place where he felt the most comfortable and cared for. It was a place that made him believe that recovery was possible. As a mother, I understood very little about addiction so I attended 4 different family programs at his various treatment centers and the one at LaHa was by far the best. When my son returned to LaHa he specifically asked his dad to attend the family session. It was here that he finally understood addiction as a disease and was given the perspective he needed to not only support our son’s recovery but his own through attending our local Alanon. We highly recommend La Hacienda.

From the beginning, the staff was helpful in understanding the process, getting insurance approval, clear communication to the family throughout the process, etc. The staff is wonderful about checking in with the patient post-visit and have developed a vast network of alumni who are deeply connected. I cannot say enough good things about Starlite Recovery Center. This place truly helped save my life. I came here on a path of death and destruction, and Starlite gave me the opportunity to reset my life, clear my head, and honestly look at what I was doing to myself and the people I love. One of the most important parts of my recovery was rebuilding my relationship with God, and I cannot give enough credit to Ms. Pepper and the Journey Program. The Journey Program became much more than just another class for me—it became a major part of my recovery. Ms. Pepper is an amazing woman with an incredible knowledge of God and the Bible. What makes her special is her ability to take Scripture and explain it in a way that connects directly to real life, addiction, recovery, forgiveness, and becoming the person God is calling you to be. She doesn’t just teach the Bible—she helps you understand how to actually apply God’s Word to your life. Through the Journey Program, I learned that my recovery could not just be about staying sober. I needed to rebuild my life on a stronger foundation, and for me that foundation is God. The program helped me strengthen my faith, find hope and purpose again, and understand that God had not given up on me. I truly hope the Journey Program continues to grow because I believe what Ms. Pepper is doing can change lives. God deserves the credit, and I am incredibly thankful He used Ms. Pepper and the Journey Program as part of changing mine. My counselors, Sabrina and Jill, were also a huge part of my recovery. Their dedication, compassion, and knowledge of addiction and military trauma are incredible. They didn’t just focus on the addiction—they helped me dig deeper, identify the root of my problems, and build a plan for moving forward. They genuinely care about the people they are helping, and that made a tremendous difference for me. The nursing staff was amazing as well. They treated me with kindness, respect, and compassion and made sure I was cared for throughout my time here. There are many VA hospitals and clinics in Texas, but this one might very well be the best. It’s not the most convenient location for me as it’s about 90 miles from my home, but I’ll continue receiving care there even with other options closer. My first visit was a few days ago and I worked with members of both the red and orange team. Each and every one of them was extremely kind, helpful, and it was clear they all really enjoyed what they were doing, and took great pride in providing healthcare to Veterans. If you’re considering the Kerrville VA Hospital as option for treatment, give it a try, you won’t regret it. I’m really proud to know these folks are doing such a great job at providing services to Veterans in the hill country area of Texas.

My experience with the Kerrville VA hospital and its staff is very encouraging and excellent. I am fortunate to have experience health care with a ppo insurance care and my care at Kerrville VA, surpasses the long scheduling and in and out visit with private medical care. I have been assigned to the gold team with my primary Dr. Llanos who is diligent in taking his time in his examination, listening and making suggestions to the different treatments regarding my disabilities. My pharmacist Dr. Rodgers has been responsible for correcting and adjusting my medication and suggesting correcting eating habits to my lifestyle. For years I had previously been treated by diabetic clinic in San Antonio where my AC1 was averaging between 8 and as high as 12. My Agent Orange disabilities to include my diabetes is as good as it will get for now with my AC 1 averaging 7.5 to 7.8. I did experience some very disappointing experiences with San Antonio VA and private medical care. The Pharmacy employees onsite Kerrville our second to none in the private sector. VA care should be the type of care that is deserving for all who served our Nation especially during wartime. Much gratitude to all the staff and caretakers for their caring and service to our Veterans with the upmost respect and care.

It’s amazing to see how much influence she has over the community and how positive she is every single day. No matter what, she sees the good in everyone. There is nothing you can say that will shake her kindness or her belief in people. She truly has a place in heaven. The operations manager, Tara, is extremely involved. She is kind, but firm when she needs to be, which makes her a great leader. She has an open door policy, and if you ever have an issue, you can walk straight into her office and she will take it seriously, no matter how small it may seem. She actually does something about it. She keeps the place well stocked. There is never a shortage of snacks, and she even asks clients what they want and makes sure it’s there. She is always busy, but she will stop what she’s doing to give you her full attention. That speaks volumes. Haley, one of the main counselors, runs extremely structured and organized groups. She makes sure every single person has the opportunity to share and that everyone is heard. She listens carefully and responds thoughtfully, whether someone is on topic or not. Her groups feel safe, comfortable, and respectful. You genuinely learn things about yourself that you never expected to learn. She creates an environment where people can actually open up. Shad and Jordan are also excellent counselors. Jordan is very intelligent and clearly cares deeply about the clients. He openly expresses that he cares, and you can feel that sincerity. Shad brings a tremendous amount of experience, and if you ever want to dive deep into a topic and really understand it, he’s the person to talk to. Vance is a really cool guy who gets along with everyone. He speaks to you like a human being and treats you with respect. He participates, engages, and genuinely seems to love what he does. He helps make the environment feel welcoming and real. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the breakfast. While they do provide cereal and options in the morning, it’s not always a well balanced breakfast, and it would be nice to have more consistent protein options. Something simple like microwavable breakfast sandwiches would make a big difference. Other than that, this place is incredible. The staff is kind, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping people rebuild their lives. They provide real resources, including help with housing and funding, and they don’t just send you back out into the world without support. They help guide you forward. I was a client here and stayed for 3 months. I honestly only had the intention to stay 1. Each month I agreed to extend because this place was worth it. One of my character flaws is perfectionism and I could complain about some small issues, but honestly that's irrelevant to the support and care I received. After detox, I was assigned the absolute best therapist I have ever had and several amazing recovery coaches that helped me work through my personal issues, legal problems, and my FMLA so I had a job to return to. I learned more about mental health, addictions, and coping skills then I ever expected. I met lot of amazing friends that I still keep in regular contact with since my departure and most of the staff are incredibly loving and caring. Food and facility cleanliness was also great. Overall, I had my ups and downs, but was shown to overcome them and have been thriving more than I had in a long time before arriving to windmill. God always keeps my life "interesting", but I'm glad this place came into my life.

This is a great place i graduated residential treatment there on 6/23/26 and my caseworker Kaitie Moore helped me get into Mastermind Recovery in San Antonio Tx and one of the things that she told and showed me through Mastermind brochure that Mastermind would pay for my first month rent in their sober living $800 upon completion. Now I'm over $1000 in the hole without a way to pay it .As i weight on finishing the drug treatment PHP i get further in the red so that by the time i get the money paid for PHP approximately 3weeks after i graduated i will be approximately $2000 in the red .IOP is the next step and it is promised by mastermind that me being in IOP that would pay for 1/2 months rent of $400 leaving a $400 month balance. Here is the scam It took me 2weeks to get into PHP adding up to a negative balance of $350 plus the $100 deposit =$450 to move in The money for the promised paid for rent has to come from Africa according to the addicts that's hired on by Mastermind who controls the balance taking additional $800 in the red adding up to $1250 in the red Once i start IOP the promise by mastermind is to pay 1/2 months rent leaving $400 left over =$1100 in the red. I was placed on a renal agreement non compliance notice even though I'm broke and cant get a job because i don't have ID placing me in fear of being kicked out of sober living leaving me homeless and displace leading to RELAP and my insurance who spent money for me to get better would start all over again because its well known the success of a homeless person would not and could not determine where he would end up at at night. The recipe seems to be get as much money from my insurance company and then start me back over again and push me on to their network buddies to take more insurance money. The way that mastermind brochure explain it is that these deals for paying for rent would help success. WHY DONT THIS ADD UP?

Recovery unplugged changed my life in ways I never thought possible. The care for their clients went far beyond my expectations of rehabilitation centers. My counselor LuLu helped me find the understanding of myself needed to move forward from active addiction, my case manager Chloe provided me the resources needed to take the next steps, and my Alumni Coordinator Natalie has an incomparable heart for those in recovery as they take those next steps. Nova is far from perfect, and some of the information can be misleading. But if you want to dive deep into the 12 Steps while enjoying good food and a beautiful scenic view, this is the place for you. The staff is great — the RAs and techs are friendly and genuinely care. The woman who runs it, however, can be unreasonable and enforces some silly rules (like not being allowed to save your food for later — insanity), but fortunately, she’s not around much. Jeff and Korn are the ones who really run the show. They have a ton of recovery experience and are both awesome guys who truly care. Jeff changed my life and helped save my marriage, so the place gets five stars from me for that reason alone. Thank you to Jeff, Korn, Cassandra, Jen, Leon Phelps, Aaron, and the rest of the staff!

I can't say enough good things about this rehab. Walking through the doors was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. The staff truly cared about my recovery and treated me with compassion, respect, and understanding every step of the way, from residential to outpatient services as well as the alumni program. I struggled with 8 years of addiction... I never wanted to be one of those people that had to say ah I man I had to go to rehab... but truly going to this place really was not at all like anything I expected it to be... this place was really awesome because it didn't feel like some typical boring office space just going over the same cheesy PowerPoint... but it actually was shockingly something I really enjoyed and ultimately looked forward to going each week. It felt like a family in a way, just in a place full of close friends who could all just kinda unload the weight of our problems, share our triumphs, relate to each others lives in ways that you just can't do with anyone else in your life who doesn't understand addiction. The staff here really cares, and it felt really personal like not just through a I care about my job kinda way but honestly like I'm passionate about wanting to see you make it! I want to help however I can so that you can be happy and free to enjoy living again... and I absolutely got that from this place! I am extremely grateful and highly recommend you give this place a try if you're even just thinking about getting clean... you can always leave lol but I promise you... you'll WANT to stay!

If you are debating whether sobriety is for you, I seriously recommend checking out Positive Recovery. I have struggled with alcohol my entire life and now I’m proud to say I’m coming up on 3 years of sobriety. My life has totally changed for the better. I can’t even put into words how much of a win it has been for my family and I, especially here just on a google review. Todd, the counselor, is the best I have ever seen and this was not my first time in a recovery center. If you are thinking about it at all, you probably need to give it a try. You owe it to yourself and your family. It works, I promise.

I was just discharged from The Right Step, Wimberley, TX, yesterday. This place and all of their AMAZING staff, including RAs, Counselor, Doctors, Nurses, Kitchen staff SAVED MY LIFE! After years of addiction I feel stronger and more equipped to face this disease head on. There are only minor things I would change: I think the women should have a large covered smoking area like the men do. The two small covered areas would get soaked in the rain and we were still required to smoke there. We would have to stand there to have a cigarette because chairs were soaked. It was cold, wet and uncomfortable. I think the women deserve an equivalent to the men, who have a large roof covered patio. It's only fair. Otherwise, not much to complain about. Some staff were better, kinder than others, but I won't name drop here. Overall, I would definitely choose them over again. Going to Right Step was the best decision of my life and I am grateful beyond words!

**FIVE STAR GOOGLE MAPS REVIEW EARNED by SABHH** ***10-STAR GOOGLE MAPS REVIEW*** Pain in my joints left me four weeks and little to no sleep. My sleep had deteriorated to, “20-hours awake followed by 90 minutes of sleep.” This made normal life impossible. SABHH was there for me at a “critical” life or no-life point. This was not my first rodeo as I’ve been battling things for 19 years and have experience with many programs and facilities. SABHH Magnolia Unit is many performance levels above the rest. SABHH Staff made the difference from the cleaning professionals to the Extraordinaire Cafeteria gourmet cooks and bakery aficionados. Nurses and nurse technicians worked together to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all guests/patients and Staff themselves. Even when a patient was experiencing difficulty in any given moment/situation, SABHH Staff managed to maintain a safe environment, allowing for the best possible recovery of each patient. Mission accomplished by SABHH STAFF…!!! I didn’t memorize everybody’s name so please accept this short, “Shout out List”. Valerie (evening shift – Magnolia): Valerie was capable of keeping things running smoothly with clear instructions and explanations of SABHH Policies, while demonstrating compassion and empathy. Laura (Technician -Magnolia) Warm smile paired to a warm heart and demeanor. Maria (Nurse -Magnolia) Compassionate care and attention to detail. I could tell Maria cared about my care. Angelina (Technician -Mustang/Magnolia): Great conversationalist, warm heart and beautiful inside and out…! “Key” (Therapist Extraordinaire): “Key” always smiled when she saw me. The kinda smile that warms your soul. Key consistently presented with a warm glow and aura of the true beauty needed and the benchmark of proper “bedside manner”. Dr. Campos (Psychiatrist): Extremely intelligent and a true problem solver. Dr. Campos and I quickly reach a workable system to address my medical needs. Art (Technician -Magnolia): Outstanding Unit management. Amazing depth of information on many topics of relevancy. Ronny (Cafeteria Professional): Keeping it real while you enjoyed your meal. Sichelle S. (Transportation Specialist Extraordinare): Sichelle S. Provided a listening ear while transporting me to my first destination. Sichelle showed empathy and compassion and is the first of many, I pray, great conversations on my new journey. Many, many others deserve my thanks… Houdini---

I want to sincerely thank Jeanette, the house supervisor at my brother’s inpatient facility, for her heart, dedication, and commitment to providing him with the best care possible. She has gone above and beyond not only for my brother, but for my family as well. She has taken an incredibly stressful situation and somehow made it feel lighter and more manageable through her compassion, patience, and support. People with Jeanette’s level of dedication, passion, and genuine care are rare. No words can truly express how grateful I am for everything she has done for my brother and our family. This was a mostly really good experience for me. I was scared and super frustrated with the registration process. I felt like a burden or just another number when I came in. That made me more afraid because I knew I'd need to be here a few days. When I got to the actual hospital part, the staff were so kind. Sylvia and Jennifer at night were always so helpful. Valerie and Art were super kind, and ran a tight ship. The director Kiki checked in on me multiple times and always had a smile. I didn't feel like a burden for the first time in a long time. Highly recommend.

This place changes lives. Its helped me to have the tools to accurately address and process what my addiction and addictive behaviors look like both mentally and physically. How my trauma has played a role in my life and how to deal with it and myself daily. The amount of growth that can be gained in a few weeks and months is a miracle. Robert Kidd and his team do an amazing job prompting, listening, and directing healing and true recovery. Its all about being healthy in the end. He serves to help people be healthy and does better than could ever be expected. I will always owe and have gratitude for this place. Mr. Kidd will always have my biggest level of respect.

It’s hard to put into words the amount of gratitude I feel for Robert Kidd & “the Room” @ Positive Recovery, but I will give it my best shot. After finding myself at an ultimate low & loosing nearly everything that ever mattered to me in life, I found myself sitting in what we call “the room”. Robert asked me a question that I had no idea wld be the start of a new & beautiful journey…. “Who is Kat?” Take away the kids, the marriage, the job, etc…most of which I had lost at that point anyway - who was I, at my core? I had absolutely no idea - but thankfully, I had a willingness & a safe place to find out. Thru some really challenging assignments & sitting in the room w/ others who were willing to open up & share things we probably wldn’t otherwise talk about…I found myself doing the same. In doing so, I have been able to let go of things I didn’t even realize I had been holding onto & have rediscovered who I AM. It’s a special room & To say that I’m grateful is a serious understatement. Everyday is a gift 🙏 I realize that more today than ever. #soberaf #onedayatatime

I hope this review reaches you when you’re feeling like you’ve tried everything and nothing has worked. If that’s where you are, know that PRC will give you the help you need, and Robert Kidd is in the business of the highest calling—Saving Lives. There are a few moments in my life that I can pinpoint as truly life-saving, and my experience at PRC is one of them. There are plenty of IOP programs around, but the people at this center, especially Robert Kidd, are on a whole different level. Before coming to PRC in San Marcos, I had been through three treatment centers and several Intensive Outpatient Programs, with my life in complete disarray. But everything changed when I met Robert. When you show up at an IOP, it’s not on your best day—it’s one of the lowest. My family had given up on me, and I didn’t have anyone to help me sort through the wreckage of my life and guide me forward. I felt hopeless, like rebuilding my life wasn’t possible. Robert took me in at my lowest point, and I’ll never forget what he said after going through the intake process. He looked at me—a 28-year-old man, fresh out of my second rehab, with a newborn child—and smiled. “Hey Bud, we’re going to get through this. And I don’t just mean maintain—I mean thrive. I have high hopes for you, John.” It had been a long time since someone believed in me. Robert became the father figure I needed when mine had stopped speaking to me. From that moment, I gave everything I had to getting clean. I had never stayed clean and sober for more than 12 days, but Robert's belief in me made me want to succeed. It wasn’t the money spent on rehab or the numerous counselors and medications that made the difference—it was Robert’s belief in me. He didn’t just let me slip away when I missed a group session; he would reach out, encourage me, and motivate me to keep going. PRC, and especially Robert Kidd, are the reasons I’m here today, thriving. If you’re considering PRC here in San Marcos, know that it could be the place where your life changes too.

Ripple ranch helped me peele back the layers of myself I was blind to, continuum helped iron them out. I highly recommend anyone to go through their programs, you get out what you put in but the return is bigger than you can imagine.
