Now I'm over $1000 in the hole without a way to pay it .As i weight on finishing the drug treatment PHP i get further in the red so that by the time i get the money paid for PHP approximately 3weeks after i graduated i will be approximately $2000 in the red .IOP is the next step and it is promised by mastermind that me being in IOP that would pay for 1/2 months rent of $400 leaving a $400 month balance. Here is the scam It took me 2weeks to get into PHP adding up to a negative balance of $350 plus the $100 deposit =$450 to move in The money for the promised paid for rent has to come from Africa according to the addicts that's hired on by Mastermind who controls the balance taking additional $800 in the red adding up to $1250 in the red Once i start IOP the promise by mastermind is to pay 1/2 months rent leaving $400 left over =$1100 in the red. I was placed on a renal agreement non compliance notice even though I'm broke and cant get a job because i don't have ID placing me in fear of being kicked out of sober living leaving me homeless and displace leading to RELAP and my insurance who spent money for me to get better would start all over again because its well known the success of a homeless person would not and could not determine where he would end up at at night. The recipe seems to be get as much money from my insurance company and then start me back over again and push me on to their network buddies to take more insurance money. The way that mastermind brochure explain it is that these deals for paying for rent would help success. WHY DONT THIS ADD UP? I honestly only had the intention to stay 1. Each month I agreed to extend because this place was worth it. One of my character flaws is perfectionism and I could complain about some small issues, but honestly that's irrelevant to the support and care I received. After detox, I was assigned the absolute best therapist I have ever had and several amazing recovery coaches that helped me work through my personal issues, legal problems, and my FMLA so I had a job to return to. I learned more about mental health, addictions, and coping skills then I ever expected. I met lot of amazing friends that I still keep in regular contact with since my departure and most of the staff are incredibly loving and caring. Food and facility cleanliness was also great. Overall, I had my ups and downs, but was shown to overcome them and have been thriving more than I had in a long time before arriving to windmill. But if you want to dive deep into the 12 Steps while enjoying good food and a beautiful scenic view, this is the place for you. The staff is great — the RAs and techs are friendly and genuinely care. The woman who runs it, however, can be unreasonable and enforces some silly rules (like not being allowed to save your food for later — insanity), but fortunately, she’s not around much. Jeff and Korn are the ones who really run the show. They have a ton of recovery experience and are both awesome guys who truly care. This place and all of their AMAZING staff, including RAs, Counselor, Doctors, Nurses, Kitchen staff SAVED MY LIFE! After years of addiction I feel stronger and more equipped to face this disease head on. There are only minor things I would change: I think the women should have a large covered smoking area like the men do. The two small covered areas would get soaked in the rain and we were still required to smoke there. We would have to stand there to have a cigarette because chairs were soaked. It was cold, wet and uncomfortable. I think the women deserve an equivalent to the men, who have a large roof covered patio. It's only fair. Otherwise, not much to complain about. Some staff were better, kinder than others, but I won't name drop here. Overall, I would definitely choose them over again. Going to Right Step was the best decision of my life and I am grateful beyond words! We were referred to the program by a close friend who works in the recovery community, and I'm truly grateful for that connection. Rise made a meaningful impact in my daughter’s life. She began her journey to recovery in 2023, and today, she’s the only clean and sober student in her graduating class. That speaks volumes about her commitment — and the support she received. Throughout her time there, my daughter was offered counseling, coaching, and a safe place to heal and grow. The program isn’t magic, and it’s not easy. But for students who are ready to put in the work, it can work. The staff includes some very kind, devoted individuals who truly care about the kids they serve. For that, I’m thankful. However, my experience as a parent was mixed. I found communication with the staff to be somewhat lacking. It often felt like they were focused entirely on my child — which is important — but I also felt left out of the loop and that my feedback was not always welcomed or acknowledged. That made things challenging at times. One concern I want to raise is how my daughter was led to believe she had a chance to work at the school after graduation. She went through the process of creating a recovery plan, submitting a resume, and even had an interview with the director, Evita. But in the end, nothing came of it, with no clear explanation. I can’t help but feel this decision may have been influenced by my own willingness to speak up about certain safety concerns and the need for stronger leadership. That was disappointing, especially after the growth and hard work my daughter had shown. Despite the challenges, I do strongly recommend Rise Inspire Academy to families with teens struggling with substance abuse. This school offers a life-changing opportunity for young people — but it requires effort, honesty, and a desire to change. For those who are ready, this program can be the turning point. Stellar medical attention, a staff who really cares for your welfare, and excellent living conditions. You're connected to resources in the community who will help with jobs, housing etc. It's a peaceful, safe place. Just follow the rules and you won't have any problems from the staff. Mike Burk 3 years ago This place has the usual issues, remember when you're coming here, this is the government nothing actually works correctly or the way it should half the time. Try not to focus on that let it go worry about your purpose here. I'd say a small amount of staff you might have conflict with but 99% go out of there way to help you. Covid coming back is making it very challenging to stay focused on what you need to and not on the stuff you can't control. Remember have an open mind take what is good for you and leave the rest but remember they've been doing this some of them a long time make sure you listen with an open mind and especially the people who have been addicts they have good advice. So, I've been going their now for past 16-18 months and have got nothing but good things to say about their services, and their caring not to mention the trust in each and every one of the staff that I mentioned in this review, the time an place, let alone opportunity is here waiting on you to just come clean and ask for help with little to no in some cases cost what soever if you consult with them first. I mean as great as something like this could be. Everyone we met from start to finish (other than one of the desk clerks for visitation) but there's one in every bunch right. The intake process is of course long as there are many waiting but I believe it is because they do it right. The answered all of our questions, gave us honest feedback and listened to both my child and us in separate settings. It came down to our child and us deciding she needed to go in and work their program. She did. And we were able to eat with her and visit just about anytime we wanted. We were able to go outside and sit together and just hang out. Was it a fun experience for her, No but did she learn some things, yes. And the big question, WAS SHE SAFE. She said yes, of course she would say that people in there had very different issues than her she was safe. And she actually met some nice people going through some tough stuff. Kudos to everyone that works there, I know it's not an easy job. David the director was so hopeful on intake, all providers were kind and communicative and if my daughter didnt feel like she connected with one they set her up with another one. The house moms or whatever they call them were also nice and helpful. If you are sent here give it a few days. They have a protocol for everyones safety but it will get better the second day and on. This is a great place i graduated residential treatment there on 6/23/26 and my caseworker Kaitie Moore helped me get into Mastermind Recovery in San Antonio Tx and one of the things that she told and showed me through Mastermind brochure that Mastermind would pay for my first month rent in their sober living $800 upon completion. Now I'm over $1000 in the hole without a way to pay it .As i weight on finishing the drug treatment PHP i get further in the red so that by the time i get the money paid for PHP approximately 3weeks after i graduated i will be approximately $2000 in the red .IOP is the next step and it is promised by mastermind that me being in IOP that would pay for 1/2 months rent of $400 leaving a $400 month balance. Here is the scam It took me 2weeks to get into PHP adding up to a negative balance of $350 plus the $100 deposit =$450 to move in The money for the promised paid for rent has to come from Africa according to the addicts that's hired on by Mastermind who controls the balance taking additional $800 in the red adding up to $1250 in the red Once i start IOP the promise by mastermind is to pay 1/2 months rent leaving $400 left over =$1100 in the red. I was placed on a renal agreement non compliance notice even though I'm broke and cant get a job because i don't have ID placing me in fear of being kicked out of sober living leaving me homeless and displace leading to RELAP and my insurance who spent money for me to get better would start all over again because its well known the success of a homeless person would not and could not determine where he would end up at at night. The recipe seems to be get as much money from my insurance company and then start me back over again and push me on to their network buddies to take more insurance money. The way that mastermind brochure explain it is that these deals for paying for rent would help success. WHY DONT THIS ADD UP?

I was a client here and stayed for 3 months. I honestly only had the intention to stay 1. Each month I agreed to extend because this place was worth it. One of my character flaws is perfectionism and I could complain about some small issues, but honestly that's irrelevant to the support and care I received. After detox, I was assigned the absolute best therapist I have ever had and several amazing recovery coaches that helped me work through my personal issues, legal problems, and my FMLA so I had a job to return to. I learned more about mental health, addictions, and coping skills then I ever expected. I met lot of amazing friends that I still keep in regular contact with since my departure and most of the staff are incredibly loving and caring. Food and facility cleanliness was also great. Overall, I had my ups and downs, but was shown to overcome them and have been thriving more than I had in a long time before arriving to windmill. God always keeps my life "interesting", but I'm glad this place came into my life.

Nova is far from perfect, and some of the information can be misleading. But if you want to dive deep into the 12 Steps while enjoying good food and a beautiful scenic view, this is the place for you. The staff is great — the RAs and techs are friendly and genuinely care. The woman who runs it, however, can be unreasonable and enforces some silly rules (like not being allowed to save your food for later — insanity), but fortunately, she’s not around much. Jeff and Korn are the ones who really run the show. They have a ton of recovery experience and are both awesome guys who truly care. Jeff changed my life and helped save my marriage, so the place gets five stars from me for that reason alone. Thank you to Jeff, Korn, Cassandra, Jen, Leon Phelps, Aaron, and the rest of the staff!

I was just discharged from The Right Step, Wimberley, TX, yesterday. This place and all of their AMAZING staff, including RAs, Counselor, Doctors, Nurses, Kitchen staff SAVED MY LIFE! After years of addiction I feel stronger and more equipped to face this disease head on. There are only minor things I would change: I think the women should have a large covered smoking area like the men do. The two small covered areas would get soaked in the rain and we were still required to smoke there. We would have to stand there to have a cigarette because chairs were soaked. It was cold, wet and uncomfortable. I think the women deserve an equivalent to the men, who have a large roof covered patio. It's only fair. Otherwise, not much to complain about. Some staff were better, kinder than others, but I won't name drop here. Overall, I would definitely choose them over again. Going to Right Step was the best decision of my life and I am grateful beyond words!

I first went to the in patient 30 day facility in Spicewood TX and that place was phenomenal!! They give you everything you need to be successful once out in the real world. I am now in Steve’s IOP class and actually look forward to every meeting. There is so much to learn and he has the knowledge to teach it for sure. The program itself is amazing and focuses on what you gain and not what you lose!

This was an amazing experience. The staff is incredibly welcoming and understanding. The counselor (Steve) is one of the most knowledgeable and sincere people I've ever had the privilege to meet and learn from. He welcomes all who are willing to put in the work to improve their lives and help others do the same. This is a safe and judgment-free environment that will not only help you and your loved ones understand the daily struggles of addiction, but will also teach you to understand and appreciate those around you in your day-to-day life. I recommend this class to anyone who is looking for help.

My daughter attended Rise Inspire Academy for 2½ years and graduated in 2025. We were referred to the program by a close friend who works in the recovery community, and I'm truly grateful for that connection. Rise made a meaningful impact in my daughter’s life. She began her journey to recovery in 2023, and today, she’s the only clean and sober student in her graduating class. That speaks volumes about her commitment — and the support she received. Throughout her time there, my daughter was offered counseling, coaching, and a safe place to heal and grow. The program isn’t magic, and it’s not easy. But for students who are ready to put in the work, it can work. The staff includes some very kind, devoted individuals who truly care about the kids they serve. For that, I’m thankful. However, my experience as a parent was mixed. I found communication with the staff to be somewhat lacking. It often felt like they were focused entirely on my child — which is important — but I also felt left out of the loop and that my feedback was not always welcomed or acknowledged. That made things challenging at times. One concern I want to raise is how my daughter was led to believe she had a chance to work at the school after graduation. She went through the process of creating a recovery plan, submitting a resume, and even had an interview with the director, Evita. But in the end, nothing came of it, with no clear explanation. I can’t help but feel this decision may have been influenced by my own willingness to speak up about certain safety concerns and the need for stronger leadership. That was disappointing, especially after the growth and hard work my daughter had shown. Despite the challenges, I do strongly recommend Rise Inspire Academy to families with teens struggling with substance abuse. This school offers a life-changing opportunity for young people — but it requires effort, honesty, and a desire to change. For those who are ready, this program can be the turning point.

If you're looking for a place to get clean and you're a vet, you can't ask for a better place to do so. Stellar medical attention, a staff who really cares for your welfare, and excellent living conditions. You're connected to resources in the community who will help with jobs, housing etc. It's a peaceful, safe place. Just follow the rules and you won't have any problems from the staff.

This place has the usual issues, remember when you're coming here, this is the government nothing actually works correctly or the way it should half the time. Try not to focus on that let it go worry about your purpose here. I'd say a small amount of staff you might have conflict with but 99% go out of there way to help you. Covid coming back is making it very challenging to stay focused on what you need to and not on the stuff you can't control. Remember have an open mind take what is good for you and leave the rest but remember they've been doing this some of them a long time make sure you listen with an open mind and especially the people who have been addicts they have good advice.

Especially when you have a staff they currently have right now, from the brain, all the way to mind, their staff, like the Manager Ms. Mary, and her assistant Ms.Tracy who knows practically the majority of each person that comes in either weekly biweekly or monthly, to one of more than several counselors such like Mr. Jim, that learns to know your situation and helps with finding you ways or means of getting you back from abnormal to simply a normal time being yourself once again, believe me these folks are not the there to judge you but to simply help you finding the solution thats going to work in your best interest for all concerned parties involved, including the Doctor B. Dillon, and the nurse's like Ms. Shannel, an others who know what's going on with each patient's past or present addiction, in helping and guiding you through the process and getting yourself back to where you once where even before you started using. So, I've been going their now for past 16-18 months and have got nothing but good things to say about their services, and their caring not to mention the trust in each and every one of the staff that I mentioned in this review, the time an place, let alone opportunity is here waiting on you to just come clean and ask for help with little to no in some cases cost what soever if you consult with them first. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, and the history and character of Los Patios make it unlike any typical treatment facility. Set on approximately 18 acres along Salado Creek, Los Patios has been part of San Antonio for decades. The mature trees, beautiful gardens, historic architecture, walkways and peaceful natural surroundings give the property a character that simply can’t be recreated overnight. PLEASE don’t listen to other reviews of this place. If you are nonviolent, I am almost certain that this will be a positive experience for you. Ashlyn, Liv, and Taylor were awesome! I never once encountered rude staff, they just weren’t what the external world would consider met conversational ‘standards’ in the workforce, but I wouldn’t want them too! They’re talking to CHILDREN, which means they should be approachable and kind. I have experience with outside psychiatric therapy (but not hospitalization), and this met all of my standards and expectations. The Doctor doesn’t have time to be a therapist for everyone, he’s (or she) is simply meant to oversee everything and administer your medications. For reference, I had Dr. Hough, and it was standard procedure. The therapists were extremely supportive, I personally had Guillermo, and he gave me an entirely new perspective. They constantly ask you how you’re feeling ,and if you have any conflicts with anyone. I never had to fear any interactions between people there, it always felt safe. PS, if you’re a foodie like me, their food is kinda mid. You can rely on their customizable salad bar and brand name things, but even the cafeteria food at points had its moments. If you are hesitating, don’t! This was a non-traumatic, positive experience for me. - Jasmine Errey

I know places like this will always get a mixed review from people who didnt get what they want or expected from a place or being turned away for space or not fitting criteria to get in which im sure is devastating BUT My family actually had a great experience here. I mean as great as something like this could be. Everyone we met from start to finish (other than one of the desk clerks for visitation) but there's one in every bunch right. The intake process is of course long as there are many waiting but I believe it is because they do it right. The answered all of our questions, gave us honest feedback and listened to both my child and us in separate settings. It came down to our child and us deciding she needed to go in and work their program. She did. And we were able to eat with her and visit just about anytime we wanted. We were able to go outside and sit together and just hang out. Was it a fun experience for her, No but did she learn some things, yes. And the big question, WAS SHE SAFE. She said yes, of course she would say that people in there had very different issues than her she was safe. And she actually met some nice people going through some tough stuff. Kudos to everyone that works there, I know it's not an easy job. David the director was so hopeful on intake, all providers were kind and communicative and if my daughter didnt feel like she connected with one they set her up with another one. The house moms or whatever they call them were also nice and helpful. If you are sent here give it a few days. They have a protocol for everyones safety but it will get better the second day and on. I went to this place, it was very helpful and staff were amazing!! Before I went here I was kinda scared because I looked at the other reviews, but my experience there was very good. There’s many activities you do (swimming, gym, music, painting, etc..) during the day. The only downside was that the intake process took about five hours 😅😅 For calling YOU can make two calls a day, but you can receive calls anytime, atleast for the unit I was in.

My sister felt safe and cared for. Not being able to be with my sister was a helpless feeling but every conversation we had with her therapist and nurses helped relieve those feelings. She was cared for, went through group meetings, met with specialists and given the resources she needed to help her grow mentally and physically. And they are still so responsive since she’s left. Answering any questions we have now. They really wanted to help her succeed. We are very blessed to have her at Laurel Ridge and will always be grateful for their help in helping her healing.

I came in feeling like I was going to die and I was on the edge. Not only did this hospital save my life but my but the team of doctors that were seeing me were absolutely incredible. I stayed on the cardiac floor for almost 3 weeks and every single staff member that I interacted with went above and beyond it was absolutely amazing. I would like to personally thank my nurse Edwin who took care of me most nights and made me feel extremely comfortable in uncomfortable situations and a special shout out to the best housekeeper in the world Miss Linda who would make me smile every time she came in and always made sure I didn't need anything. I just want to thank Amina for providing great care to my family member while they were hospitalized on 3East. It was a very difficult time for my family. She was exceptionally competent, kind and compassionate. There was a lot of uncertainty. She communicated well with my family member and made every effort to manage the pain and condition in conjunction with the doctor's orders. She even coordinated their transition to rehab with their medication regimen to ensure there was no delays and the transfer was as comfortable as possible. She treated them with respect and dignity, and most importantly, like they really mattered.

I want to share my experience delivering my twins via C-section at North Central Baptist Hospital, because the care my family received was nothing short of extraordinary. I was diagnosed with postpartum preeclampsia, and I'm convinced the reason it was caught early was because the nursing staff was so proactive. From antepartum through labor and delivery, and all the way through my postpartum recovery over 9 days, every single nurse I encountered was attentive, caring, compassionate, thorough, and genuinely invested in my wellbeing. They didn't just check boxes — they noticed changes, asked the right questions, and caught my preeclampsia when it mattered most. That kind of vigilance can be life-saving, and I don't take it for granted. Because my twins were born premature, they spent 26 days in the NICU. I can honestly say the NICU team became like family to us during that time. The nurses were skilled, compassionate, and treated my babies like their own. I especially want to recognize Paul in speech therapy, along with the occupational therapy and physical therapy teams — their expertise and patience helped my twins reach milestones I wasn't sure they'd hit so soon. Watching my babies grow stronger every day, in the hands of people who clearly loved their work, gave me so much peace during an incredibly scary time. To every nurse in antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and the NICU, lactation consultants, chaplins, cleaning ladies, restaurant team and the therapy teams who worked with my twins — thank you. You gave my family the best possible start, and I will be grateful for the rest of my life.
