Windmill Wellness Ranch is an amazing facility with even more amazing staff. Their approach to rehabilitation is multifaceted and holistic. Support from dedicated therapists and recovery coaches as well as 24-hour staff combined with individually focused medical, nutrition, fitness, and spiritual aspects provide an amazing impetus for recovery and a strong foundation for continued success. WWR uses a tired approach to recovery, providing care and treatment at all levels allowing clients to develop healthy life skills that will support their recovery and overall wellbeing as they transition back into everyday life. The fellowship and community achieved here continues after treatment with alumni events and open meetings. Recovery is celebrated and remains a continued focus. The staff are knowledgeable and truly care about the clientele. This facility deserves all of the praise it has received and will forever be remembered by me as a cornerstone of my recovery journey.

I can’t say enough good things about Windmill Wellness Ranch. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. Everyone there goes above and beyond to help, and you can tell they truly care about each person’s recovery journey. The accommodations were clean, peaceful, and made it easy to focus on healing and personal growth. The atmosphere is supportive, positive, and encouraging every single day. The staff is absolutely amazing — compassionate, professional, understanding, and always willing to help however they can. If you or a loved one is looking for a treatment center with caring people and a strong recovery environment, I highly recommend Windmill Wellness Ranch. Truly grateful for my experience there.

Nova is far from perfect, and some of the information can be misleading. But if you want to dive deep into the 12 Steps while enjoying good food and a beautiful scenic view, this is the place for you. The staff is great — the RAs and techs are friendly and genuinely care. The woman who runs it, however, can be unreasonable and enforces some silly rules (like not being allowed to save your food for later — insanity), but fortunately, she’s not around much. Jeff and Korn are the ones who really run the show. They have a ton of recovery experience and are both awesome guys who truly care. Jeff changed my life and helped save my marriage, so the place gets five stars from me for that reason alone. Thank you to Jeff, Korn, Cassandra, Jen, Leon Phelps, Aaron, and the rest of the staff!

I was just discharged from The Right Step, Wimberley, TX, yesterday. This place and all of their AMAZING staff, including RAs, Counselor, Doctors, Nurses, Kitchen staff SAVED MY LIFE! After years of addiction I feel stronger and more equipped to face this disease head on. There are only minor things I would change: I think the women should have a large covered smoking area like the men do. The two small covered areas would get soaked in the rain and we were still required to smoke there. We would have to stand there to have a cigarette because chairs were soaked. It was cold, wet and uncomfortable. I think the women deserve an equivalent to the men, who have a large roof covered patio. It's only fair. Otherwise, not much to complain about. Some staff were better, kinder than others, but I won't name drop here. Overall, I would definitely choose them over again. Going to Right Step was the best decision of my life and I am grateful beyond words!

I first went to the in patient 30 day facility in Spicewood TX and that place was phenomenal!! They give you everything you need to be successful once out in the real world. I am now in Steve’s IOP class and actually look forward to every meeting. There is so much to learn and he has the knowledge to teach it for sure. The program itself is amazing and focuses on what you gain and not what you lose!

This was an amazing experience. The staff is incredibly welcoming and understanding. The counselor (Steve) is one of the most knowledgeable and sincere people I've ever had the privilege to meet and learn from. He welcomes all who are willing to put in the work to improve their lives and help others do the same. This is a safe and judgment-free environment that will not only help you and your loved ones understand the daily struggles of addiction, but will also teach you to understand and appreciate those around you in your day-to-day life. The commissary provides the services for which it exists, and doesn't have some of the options available at local grocery stores (with the cost savings passed to its customers), It was clean, well stocked with a variety of items, but had the limitations imposed by available space. With respect to inventory, it would be generally similar to one of the few smaller HEB stores in the San Antonio area. Most notable for me was the comparatively limited supply of meat. The beef was mostly 'Select' quality, and cuts didn't compare well to HEB beef (and neither compares well to Costco that stocks mostly Choice beef with a smaller array of Prime cuts). The commissary lighting was good (and completely adequate), though not great. Pricing compares well with local market alternatives, but the pricing differential seemed less than the days of my active duty. I suspect that is due largely to HEB's determination to provide the best overall grocery type inventory prices in any market where HEB competes. The commissary was priced lower than HEB and Walmart Superstores, but the average differential appears to run from 2%-15%, with the greatest discount coming from non food items that typically have high sales margins. Add the savings of zero sales tax on ALL items (not just food) and the savings can be very significant on some non food items. The atmosphere and area in and around the commissary felt safe by virtue of being on base, but otherwise it 'felt' a bit depressing.

My daughter attended Rise Inspire Academy for 2½ years and graduated in 2025. We were referred to the program by a close friend who works in the recovery community, and I'm truly grateful for that connection. Rise made a meaningful impact in my daughter’s life. She began her journey to recovery in 2023, and today, she’s the only clean and sober student in her graduating class. That speaks volumes about her commitment — and the support she received. Throughout her time there, my daughter was offered counseling, coaching, and a safe place to heal and grow. The program isn’t magic, and it’s not easy. But for students who are ready to put in the work, it can work. The staff includes some very kind, devoted individuals who truly care about the kids they serve. For that, I’m thankful. However, my experience as a parent was mixed. I found communication with the staff to be somewhat lacking. It often felt like they were focused entirely on my child — which is important — but I also felt left out of the loop and that my feedback was not always welcomed or acknowledged. That made things challenging at times. One concern I want to raise is how my daughter was led to believe she had a chance to work at the school after graduation. She went through the process of creating a recovery plan, submitting a resume, and even had an interview with the director, Evita. But in the end, nothing came of it, with no clear explanation. I can’t help but feel this decision may have been influenced by my own willingness to speak up about certain safety concerns and the need for stronger leadership. That was disappointing, especially after the growth and hard work my daughter had shown. Despite the challenges, I do strongly recommend Rise Inspire Academy to families with teens struggling with substance abuse. This school offers a life-changing opportunity for young people — but it requires effort, honesty, and a desire to change. For those who are ready, this program can be the turning point.

If you're looking for a place to get clean and you're a vet, you can't ask for a better place to do so. Stellar medical attention, a staff who really cares for your welfare, and excellent living conditions. You're connected to resources in the community who will help with jobs, housing etc. It's a peaceful, safe place. Just follow the rules and you won't have any problems from the staff.

This place has the usual issues, remember when you're coming here, this is the government nothing actually works correctly or the way it should half the time. Try not to focus on that let it go worry about your purpose here. I'd say a small amount of staff you might have conflict with but 99% go out of there way to help you. Covid coming back is making it very challenging to stay focused on what you need to and not on the stuff you can't control. Remember have an open mind take what is good for you and leave the rest but remember they've been doing this some of them a long time make sure you listen with an open mind and especially the people who have been addicts they have good advice.

I went to alumni last week to get my 1 year sobriety coin and it was my first visit in about 6 months, and what a total disappointment this has become ! Only 2 people spoke the entire time, not even asking if anyone else would like to share, which I had planned on doing, and I'm not joking when I say that both of their speeches was reminiscing about how much fun they had when they were on drugs or alcohol. The meeting ran over by almost 30 minutes because both of them took so long, and to make it even worse, they didn't even have any 1 year sobriety coins !! Bring Priscilla back ! It was a wonderful recovery place when I attended, now it's a JOKE ! Waste of my time, never going back! I feel sorry for the inpatient people that were there because that alumni meeting did absolutely nothing to help them !

I went here as a kid from the ages 13-17 and I have also been to a ton of hospitals including residential treatment centers now at the age of 21 I am currently doing Electroconvulsive therapy (and have a service dog) and it has been life changing- my experience at clarity wasn’t the best I spent a lot of time on the floor being physically restrained however it was way better than laurel ridge most of the time I was at clarity in those 4 years I had Dr.Reeves and he was amazing! I also met some amazing staff there so it definitely could’ve been worse and I’m grateful for my time there as a kid!

There are moments in life where you realize you cannot continue carrying the weight you’ve been silently battling for years. For me, that battle was an 8–10 year dependency on and overuse of prescription sleep medication — something that slowly became etched into my everyday life until I no longer recognized how deeply it had taken hold of me. Walking into Laurel Ridge Treatment Center was one of the most vulnerable and frightening moments of my life. I did not know what to expect. I was exhausted emotionally, mentally, and physically. But what I found there was something I will never forget: compassion, patience, structure, understanding, and people who genuinely cared. Every single staff member I encountered treated me with kindness and dignity. Not once did I feel like I was simply another patient passing through their doors. I felt seen. I felt heard. I felt cared for. What impacted me most was that healing at Laurel Ridge went far beyond medication management or detox protocols. The conversations mattered. The encouragement mattered. The way staff took time to speak life into people who often arrive feeling broken, ashamed, scared, or uncertain… mattered more than my words can truly express. Every interaction — whether big or small — helped prepare me for my release back into the real world. They did not simply help me withdraw from medication. They helped rebuild parts of my mindset that had been neglected for years. I left with knowledge, tools, coping mechanisms, and a deeper understanding of how to properly navigate not only my current struggles, but future hardships as well. The education, attentiveness, and emotional support I received gave me something I had almost forgotten existed: hope. I also want future patients entering Laurel Ridge to understand something important. The rules, structure, attentiveness, and routines are not there because the staff wants to be harsh or unreasonable. They exist because the people they take their positions seriously and genuinely care about the safety, recovery, and success of every individual who walks through those doors. Structure is part of healing. Accountability is part of healing. The consistency they provide is meant to prepare you for success outside of the facility when no one is standing next to you and guiding you anymore. If you enter with an open mind and an open heart, you may realize that even the difficult and uncomfortable moments encountered there - are rooted in care and concern for your wellbeing. To every staff member at Laurel Ridge: Thank you. Thank you for your patience during moments when I struggled. Thank you for your compassion during moments when I felt weak. Thank you for the conversations that shifted my perspective. Thank you for reminding me that transformation is possible, even after years of dependency and emotional exhaustion. You helped guide me through one of the hardest chapters of my life, and I will carry the lessons I learned in my heart for this moment on. I truly hope to continue growing and developing into a healthier, stronger version of myself in a way that honors every staff member who genuinely cared for me during my stay. Some people may never fully understand how life-changing this kind of support can be until they experience it themselves. But I will never forget the impact Laurel Ridge had on my life, and I will always be grateful for the role each staff member played in helping me begin again.

My experience at Laurel Ridge was perfect for my treatment needed. The M100 regular staff was awesome. Tonya, Crystal, Amanda, Stevie, Ashley, Ivy, Will, Gale, Edwin, Andrew, Bianca, Shauntrice. Therapist Tammy (the best), Dr. Kashup. STS staff Coach Calvin, Derek, Vanessa, Carolyn, and Mckayla. Mrs. Danny in the cafeteria always smiling. Sean for the haircuts. Even through whatever the drama treated us with respect and dignity. The replacements and new comers needed training. Caught sleeping, rude, and overall not taken in well by those who'd been around. I've been to Laurel Ridge plenty of times for help with detoxing. They were very helpful if you know what i mean. They even let you smoke cigarettes too throughout the day hahaha never would have thought of that. They also make time for groups to associate with each other and take place in games like trivia and listing to music for therapy. Found out I have schizoaffective disorder. In order to survive here you have to be one of the toughest and hang in there as much as you possibly can. Thank you Laurel Ridge.

A majority of the nurses are awesome, compassionate and caring! Nurses Rachel, Bianca, Nancy, Nicole and Michelle on the 4th floor in the CVT Unit were awesome! The care they provided made my husband at ease with his treatments. Nurse Alyssa on the 3rd floor Progressive Unit provided exceptional care. She also provided information and explanation of terms to my husband so that he can understand what needs to be done for him to get well. Just all around great care.
