About The San Antonio Hypnosis Center

No two people have identical journeys in their recovery from drug or alcohol addiction and different strategies work for different people. One tool that some people use in their recovery journey is hypnotherapy. If you’re in San Antonio, Texas, one local option is the San Antonio Hypnosis Center.

This treatment center is run by therapist and hypnotherapist Gordon Leith. He uses strategic hypnosis to help with not only drug and alcohol addiction but other mental health and behavioral health issues, too. In fact, a lot of people with addiction have other difficulties that play a role in their addiction and he can help you address the various facets of your addiction.

Sessions here are conducted via telehealth so you can get the treatment you need from the privacy of your home. In addition to hypnotherapy they also provide group therapy for substance abuse.

One specialized service they offer here too is a program for CDL drivers who’re facing drug and alcohol violations. This program complies with the Department of Transportation’s requirements and can help you get back in good standing.

In 2017/18 I developed Gastroparesis after contracting a virus. It was life-altering because I ended up weighing 80 pounds & losing my job as I threw up 24/7. Eventually I decided hypnotherapy might help me cope with the trauma aspect of the illness. I found Dr. DeWitt to be a lovely human being. He is exceptionally smart & committed. You feel really comfortable with him (and I'm a survivor so feeling comfortable with a man I do not know is a big deal) he's got a very kind heart & a wonderful bedside manner. Not surprising for a hypnotherapist maybe but he's the real deal in terms of his commitment to his profession. Dr. DeWitt is a very kind man, he's highly intelligent & versed in his field & he helped me a lot with the anxiety element of the illness. I couldn't afford to keep going to see him but I did have several sessions & they were reasonably priced. He is punctual, a good listener, professional & invested in what he does. I did not feel he was just going through the motions, I felt heard, accepted and like he really did want to help me (which he did). I highly recommend Dr. DeWitt if you wish to be hypnotized for anything from anxiety to quitting smoking, he will help you. He's such an asset to this city. Thank you for all you did to help me.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Hypnotherapy (aka guided hypnosis) can be used as a therapeutic modality to treat substance use, especially in terms of quitting smoking cigarettes (nicotine). Clinical hypnotherapists help clients turn their attention inward, accessing unconscious or subconscious material, and then make suggestions that are healthier for the individual. The process can help clients make deep, positive, and lasting changes, including ceasing addictive habits.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Dr Witt I a fraud,he treated my daughter claiming he had removed a big tumor off her mind ,turned she got worse,

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Mr Sorensen, whoever' he is is unknown to our office or to me. Clearly he has some hidden agenda.. I imagine he goes about with a crayon in his pocket leaving anonymous messages in public places. A sign of our time. We wish him well.
