Lighthouse was the only program in this city that ever helped me build a life that I felt like fighting to keep. I came to the program on the back end of a few extremely traumatic months without much will to live at all. They didn't teach me how to stay sober they taught me how to build a life worth having, one where I didn't need drugs to cope. I consider the entire staff family and always will. Anyone lucky enough to have a spot in their program should be extremely grateful.

Getting sober at the Lighthouse Program honestly changed my life. When I first got there, I was scared, unsure, and not convinced anything would actually work for me. But the environment felt safe pretty quickly, and that mattered more than I expected. The staff really showed up—not just professionally, but as people who genuinely cared. They didn’t sugarcoat things, but they also didn’t make me feel judged. That balance helped me stay open and actually do the work. What stood out most was the sense of structure and accountability. It gave me something solid to hold onto when everything inside me felt chaotic. At the same time, there was space to be human—to feel, to struggle, and to grow at my own pace. Recovery isn’t easy, and this program didn’t pretend it was. But it gave me tools I still use every day, and more importantly, it gave me hope when I didn’t have much of my own. If you’re thinking about getting sober and don’t know where to start, Lighthouse is a place where you can begin. It’s not perfect, but it’s real—and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Sober Living Houses (SLHs), aka sober homes or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Ideal for those who've just been through inpatient or outpatient treatment, SLHs are supervised environments with rules that support sobriety, such as curfews, shared chores, and therapeutic meetings. Residents are also often trained on life skills and coping skills to make it easier to transition into society. SLHs also provide a strong sense of community that can lead to the kind of deep and lasting connections with other sober individuals that supports a new, healthy lifestyle.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

This place is a JOKE. Drugs come and go. Its staff doesn’t know how to run a sober living. I look for this place to get shut down soon too. Js
