Dr. Hillman is a wonderful doctor whom I just started seeing at Avera in Worthington. She is kind and takes time with me to figure out meds and what will work the best for me and my situation. I'm so glad to have her as my physician!

Dr.Visit

Many of the people posting negative comments are not complaining about Avera, they are complaining about a particular doctor. The trick here, as it is in every clinic in the country, is getting a doctor (what we used to call a GP I guess) that's right for you. I have Dr. Lilgaroth, she is great, so I gave 5 stars. My wife has had bad experiences in the past with so many male drs (the old "you're a woman & I'm both a man AND a doctor, so I'm gonna ignore what you say") that she finally demanded a female doctor, and that happened to work out great for her. Gender may not have been the reason, she may just have got a great dr-- the important thing is, my wife was comfortable with her. When her female dr retired, she ended up with a male dr (Dr Gunderson, I believe?) and she says he is great. Ya just gotta shop around and get a doc that is a fit for you-- that is true of any clinic, not just Avera. But I've also had pretty much all positive experiences with other parts of the clinic-- reception, labs, nurses, Avera hospitals, even the money people. (Btw, I'm not a nice guy or a pollyanna; I am by nature an extremely demanding pain in the, uh, rear.)

I highly recommend if you are struggling with addiction to opiates/heroin. If you want to change your life around don't hesitate The doctor is amazing and listens. The Nurses are so sweet. I'm going to miss one of the Nurses it's her last day. Also the counselors are all great people. I enjoy going talking to my counselor.

They changed my life, to they are like family and anyone that goes there and REALLY works the program will agree. I have been a patient for a long time and have had my fair share of relapses but the team here has stuck with me and kept my accountable and on a constant path of serenity. Thanks guys!

Without this methadone clinic I would not be able to live here. I am very grateful they are here to help.

I have not heard of or used southeastern directions for life, but a therapist named Tyler came to meet with a family member of mine when she was in a crisis. After they finished talking my cousin was in a much better mood and I felt better knowing she has somewhere to turn to in times of need. Thank you.

We've been using SBH for a few years and I am extremely satisfied. My son has difficulties trusting and opening up (as well as others), and his counselor has been amazing at gaining his trust and doesn't push him too hard. I've seen some positive changes since beginning and couldn't be happier with them!

The reception is usually fine though I may know who the other reviews were trashing. I have seen a few therapists here and a med nurse and they've all been easy to work with.

Cassidy is amazing spreading the word for volunteer and donation opportunities, has helped me to give back!

I have been thru here. When it was located at old building. In 1997-98 ish. It helped me to a certain point, things there showed me that the REZ life isn't the only thing in life. When I became a Christian and I read books by people who overcame great struggles, poverty and broken homes to become successful and productive citizens in society. I knew a GREAT LIFE is possible. . .
