Bluff Plantation is a private rehab located in Augusta, Georgia. Bluff Plantation specializes in the treatment of substance, drug and alcohol abuse.

Bluff Plantation Focus:

Substance Abuse

At Bluff Plantation, they’ve designed neuroscience-driven treatment for drug use disorders and addiction to repair the brain’s chemical imbalance that has prevented successful recovery in the past. They provide an unsurpassed rehabilitation experience through intensive outpatient programs designed to treat everything from the simplest to the most medically complex cases of drug addiction. They ensure that you receive the individualized care necessary that not only will help you get through the next day, but will last a lifetime.

Opiate Addiction

Opiate Addiction Treatment Centers specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Research shows that alcohol and drug abuse can lead to low levels of dopamine, a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain's reward and pleasure centers. At Bluff Plantation, the medical staff works to repair the brain’s reward system by using a holistic approach that helps raise low dopamine levels.

Dual Diagnosis/Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

A dual diagnosis requires specialized, individualized care so that both conditions are successfully treated. Conditions that commonly co-occur with drug or alcohol addiction are depression, anxiety, panic disorders, bipolar disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders and schizophrenia. Bluff Plantation's addiction experts have extensive experience treating multiple mental health conditions simultaneously. Their comprehensive psychiatric and psychological evaluations will identify any underlying mental health issue and address the disorder simultaneously in a customized addiction treatment plan.

Rehab Services:

Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT)

Methadone Maintenance Treatment or ORT (Opiate Replacement Therapy) is the use of methadone as a substitute for someone who is addicted to opioids (heroin, OxyContin, codeine, Dilaudid, Percocet and others), helping with the recovery process reducing the cravings for the opioids or used as part of the admittance process to a substance abuse treatment facility that requires complete abstinence.

Buprenorphine Detox and Treatment

Similar to methadone, buprenorphine is a drug meant to help with long-term treatment for opioid addiction. Those recovering from heroin addiction or other opiate addiction may be prescribed buprenorphine (Suboxone and Subutex) to help wean the body off of opioids safely, over time. Buprenorphine helps lessen the discomfort and danger of detox and withdrawal.

What does Bluff Plantation offer?

Medically Assisted Detox

Bluff Plantation delivers comprehensive detox services through their affiliation with the Medical College of Georgia, one of the most reputable and established medical schools in the country. Through their partnership with the Medical College of Georgia, we can provide our clients with the full power of every medical specialty available to get them the detox treatment they need for safe and effective stabilization.

24 Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it’s important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand. Clients with severe, unstable addiction cases who require detoxification will benefit from Bluff Plantation’s 24/7 medically monitored inpatient detox and stabilization service.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Residential (inpatient) Treatment

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatment Types:

Individualized Treatment

Certain drug and alcohol rehab centers have standard treatment regimes they expect all patients to follow. Others offer individualized treatment, meaning they tailor treatment to a person’s specific background and needs. For example, a rehab facility may adjust a treatment program to take into account the type of drug or addiction from which the person suffers, their age, medical condition(s), religious beliefs, or lifestyle.

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex & Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Therapies Offered:

Holistic Therapy

At Bluff Plantation, they treat the body, mind, and spirit by incorporating a multidisciplinary blend of holistic and traditional addiction treatment therapies. Holistic therapies are the tools that accelerate and sustain one’s recovery through the right balance of proper diet, lifestyle management and exercise.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Equine Therapy

Bluff Plantation provides immediate access to local equestrian centers where clients and therapists work closely together to develop important recovery skills. Known as equine therapy, you will build skills and attributes such as accountability, responsibility, and self-confidence-while learning about your behavior patterns and emotional processing capabilities.

Experiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional “talk therapy” by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Life Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.
