My son has been working with Morris, a Recovery Coach at Mountainside for the past eight months and the experience has been exceptional for us both! Morris truly understands how to support recovery in a real world, day to day way. The coaching goes further than check-ins. It includes accountability, life skills, emotional support, and sometimes honest hard conversations. My son has learned how to manage challenges, make healthier choices and is learning how to stay focused on his long-term goals. The progress he’s made has been remarkable and I credit much of that to the consistent well informed coaching he receives. Not only does Morris provide coaching to my son, his expertise extends to me as well. He is highly responsive and always follows through. Mountainside’s Recovery coaching is more than a service. It feels like it’s a true partnership. As a mom navigating this process, I am grateful for the guidance, structure, the encouragement and situational advice Morris provides. I would recommend their coaching without hesitation to any family who’s looking for meaningful sustained support around sobriety. This has made a significant difference for my family. My daughter’s recovery coach Jeanine Ierardi, was amazing!!! She was the best that Mountainside could offer as a recovery coach. She went far and beyond helping and supporting us through the most difficult time in our lives. She saved our daughter’s life!!! The New York Center for Living is helping our family a great deal. Healing is a process and it is not easy, however CFL provides support not just for the teen but also for the parents and the family. While there are always flaws no matter where you go, it's not a one-size-fits-all. I have personally witnessed for four years many people succeed who are committed to changing their lives. Truth is you have to not only want it but also be willing to work for it. There comes a point in an addict's life where they will do anything to change their circumstances and patterns of behavior that led to their current state, and those are the clients that succeed at Odyssey, or anywhere else.

In IOP, the workshops, my group members, and my counselor, Russ, have been a true support. However, I see that this has been but the beginning of my journey in sobriety. There is still much work to be done. I need to have AA as a part of my daily life; I need my sponsor; I need new friends in sobriety. As the partner of a patient who had surgery today, I have to say that based upon his long experience with this particular VA Hospital, he has obtained the best of care. In addition, when I call to inquire and even when the 10N nurse's station didn't answer because of the volume that they were experiencing, the operators -- all of them -- were not only professional, but caring and considerate to my nervousness in not being able to get through right away. Way to go!

Pretty good hospital. A few haters working with public. But most are wonderful. Medical records long blonde yellowish hair. one of the friendliest people I have ever met. And exceptionally competent. She has a huge smile even though the veteran ahead of me was rude & obnoxious. Sad that the administration is destroying va as they tell us how wonderful it will be. While the people who care disappear. Yesterday the waiting room was closed, and seven patients were sitting on chairs around the nurses station. There were clearly distracting the nurses. Maybe trump wants to build a big hotel on va properties many which are valuable. 😆 🤣 not really a joke.

Coming from a 7+ year Heroin / Fentanyl addict who is now 116 days clean (as of today), this outpatient program really did blow my expectations out of the water. I have no idea how this place doesn't have a higher rating than it does. I wouldn't trust many of these negative reviews to be honest...my guess is that a majority of them are from people that are still suffering from this disease of addiction and something minor and/or specific set them off into having a negative experience here. In any case, all I can convey here is the experience that I myself have had at Parallax - and it's been absolutely amazing (and throughout these entire 10 weeks that I have been going to Outpatient groups, every person I have talked to has only had glowing things to say about it as well!). It's SO clear how much the staff - from the facilitators / counselors all the way to the front desk / reception - truly cares about helping folks recover from alcoholism and drug addiction. HUGE shoutout to Ashley, one of the group counselors, as she is so caring and compassionate and truly lives her job the way she lives her life, and it makes such a difference. But whether it's Ashley or another counselor, these groups have been so instrumental to my recovery and I cannot thank them all enough for contributing so positively to my recovery journey. Without Parallax, I do not know where I would be right now - so if you're thinking about an Outpatient Program or an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), I would definitely try giving Parallax a shot. I promise you will not regret it!

I don't know what this place is like now but I can tell you 30 years ago when I was a homeless addict, I came to try and get clean This program works it's not easy but neither is being on the street looking for money to get high. This is the program where you go when you have no friends no family no money and no insurance. It's no frills but it's clean they feed you and you get to learn how to live drug free with other people. I think we should invest in more places like this one. I Felt I had to add this after reading some other reviews yes this place is a very old building part of our job as we got clean was also to do the daily chores of keeping Our house clean. I don't know about some of the other people who were there but I was literally sleeping either on the trains or just in the street somewhere so This place was a step up for me. 26 years clean greatful every day. 🙏🏻

‘Hurt People , Hurt People’. I needed a free therapist and was able to have 5 intake sessions with a pleasant young woman. I benefited from these sessions as it is always rewarding when we analyze and acknowledge what is going on in our lives. So much was happening for me and I was not able to attend all the assigned sessions. Management was not able to communicate in a responsible or mature manner; I wonder maybe they too are prior clients who have graduated but do not have a total grip on their situation and sometimes need help themselves. My very pleasant intake person became insensitive, cold, ‘passive aggressive’ and quite non communicative. I lead the conversation and realized that I was being ‘expelled’. I really don’t know the reason as I do believe she has her own issues and the Leadership is not of a strong foundation with knowledge of servicing a diverse clientele. Such a shame because this has the potential to be a top notch program in a great community. I only wish I was able to find an experienced, strong, qualified leadership that is familiar with diversity and respect. I was feeling hurt as this was the second time I had to deal with leadership’s lack of sensitivity. It should not be just a JOB when people come to you for help. Fix the structure of this place.

Stayed here for roughly a week on the 4th floor, due to a hypomanic episode while on SSRI + Stimulant treatment. The nurse team was very responsive and positive in assisting with any inquiry I had during my stay. Having (limited) access to iPads for streaming media was a big plus, and the catering quality felt surprisingly delightful on most days (but of course there some misses, mostly on the turkey-based dishes.) Having access to the rooftop, once privilege was given by my very professional medical team (Dr. Carrillo was caring and transparent in the best of ways, with both my family and myself) was THE highlight of this location. Such a good spot for sun worshipping. 🧘☀️ Points to improve include: more visitor-facing info about restrictions and their reasoning for it - to avoid uncomfortable corrections during delicate times - and more maintenance / to the comfort room, which appeared somewhat neglected and undesirable to stay in.

I’ll be completely honest, before coming to the Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center, I read a lot of the reviews, and some of them made me a little hesitant. But I decided to come in and see for myself instead of going based on other people’s experiences. I’m really glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the experience was completely different from what I expected. The new location is beautiful, everything is brand new, clean, and feels welcoming. It doesn’t feel run-down or chaotic at all. It actually feels like a place where you can breathe a little. The staff were attentive from start to finish. From check-in to when I left, I felt acknowledged and treated with respect. People were present, helpful, and not dismissive, which honestly made a big difference. You can also tell there’s been a shift in leadership. I actually saw the new CEO in the hallway, and she took the time to say hello. That might seem small, but it stood out, she seemed approachable, involved, and genuinely engaged in what’s going on in the building. Overall, I’m not disappointed at all. My experience was positive, and I’m glad I didn’t let the negative reviews stop me from coming in and forming my own opinion.

Danisha (hope I spelled that correctly) at the front desk is always funny as hell, no nonsense but still sweet, welcoming and great at her job. The security guards are all polite and professional too. The entire staff really go above and beyond, unlike other clinics I've been to. The place is always kept nice and clean and if a mess does occur they're on it, fast. I honestly don't have any complaints about the place. Best clinic in NYC without a doubt.

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Lenox Hill Hospital. From the moment we arrived, the nurses were absolutely incredible: attentive, compassionate, reassuring, and genuinely on our side every step of the way. I had a complicated and extremely long delivery, and the nursing team walked me through the entire process with so much patience and care. During some very difficult moments, I always felt supported, listened to, and in exceptionally capable hands. Their kindness made such a difference to both me and my husband. The postpartum care was equally amazing. Every nurse who cared for us was thoughtful, responsive, and incredibly supportive as we recovered and learned how to care for our newborn. The level of attention throughout our entire stay was exceptional. The facilities, care, service, and even the food were fantastic. We felt incredibly well taken care of from beginning to end. Truly a 10/10 experience, and I will always be grateful to the Lenox Hill team for taking such wonderful care of our family during one of the most important moments of our lives. ❤️
