Staff was very helpful and patient. I’ve been to multiple programs similar to this one and have never seen such a clean building let alone dealt with people that work there that actually act like they care would definitely recommend over any other place in Connecticut from my personal experience.

Whether you are a 1st time treatment/detox seeker or have relapsed and are searching for a new facility, this is your place. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond for the patients. This was my one and hopefully only experience, but I am incredibly grateful that I chose Retreat (New Haven). My therapist was PHENOMENAL! If you are willing to do the work, commit to yourself that YOU are worth the time & energy needed that it takes to truly recover, and remain sober then I highly recommend you give Retreat a try. It is a welcoming community and hopefully you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was about the services available, especially if you are a first responder or an active duty/veteran service member.

I've been in this place before in comparison with the ZEN feelings and vibes at this establishment I would ruin the feel.
Before the tension coming from the staff and clients was high; feeling to a point as a trigger for relapses.
Now this site is comfortable, very calm soothing and relaxed environmental atmosphere. Peaceful and calming are the staff that works here and very supportive and hands on. They are together delivering exceptional world class service to our neighborhoods, communities and towns-To our people.

Westport House is well managed and well run. It has all the amenities you could ask for, with resources to get every aspect of your life back on track. The management and staff cares about you, and that's important when trying to better yourself. They really give you an upper hand. I hope I don't need to, but I would recommend anyone to stay here to get their life back on track, and I would again in a heartbeat.

After years of trying everything we could think of, my wife and I finally found Westport House. Our son was admitted quickly and efficiently, and, from that point on, our experience was incredible. After a couple of months we saw a noticeable change in our son. The staff was very timely in their correspondence with us and always treated us appropriately. During his time there, our son became actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous, obtained employment, and began treating us and others with a level of respect we did not know he was capable of. He stayed there for 7 months, and I can say, it was very much worth every penny. Our son is still sober today and continues to attend the AA meetings that he went to during his time at Westport House. We cannot thank Westport House enough for giving us our son back. After 7 painful years, the change that he was able to make in his life is incredible, and it is all thanks to the great staff and services at Westport House.

After being in and out of many different rehabs, it was at Westport House that I learned how to live a brand new life. The staff was kind, loving, and compassionate. They showed me the way up and out of the horrible rut I was in. They also helped my family understand addiction, and what they needed to do to help me, and themselves. The atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable, and the incredibly supportive! Being able to see their therapists and clinical team was also essential in aiding my recovery. I'm so grateful for the life Westport House gave me.

Ann Psychiatrist she is an empath she will find you out haha 😂 she's the best , Victor was amazing but he left Alexis and Jamie are also the shit but but def Jamie and Ann if you need a power pack.

My counselor was respectful, responsible & made me feel comfortable whenever I was talking with him. Receptionists at the front desk are always so nice, the whole place, in general, seems more caring willing to talk instead of simply pushing pills into your system.

The staff is very good and I suppose the doctor I had was not and I terminated her services for numerous reasons, e.g., failure to prescribe the appropriate dose for a non prescription medicine and failure to send to my PCP after a request in writing for needed information about my condition. From what I can tell the focus of the practice is much too narrow.

I went to the ER with my daughter last night and waited about 7 hours to be seen. I understand ERs can be extremely busy, but a dirty waiting room and restrooms are not acceptable. In seven hours, the waiting area and bathrooms were not cleaned, and there was garbage on the floors and seats. That environment was stressful for us and raises concerns about hygiene for all patients, especially families with children.
On a positive note, the medical care my daughter received was exceptional, and the rest of the hospital we visited felt clean. Because of the high quality of the care she received, I would recommend Bridgeport Hospital, with the hope that the ER waiting area can be improved.
Suggestions for improvement:
Increase cleaning frequency in the ER waiting area and restrooms, especially during busy periods. Ensure restrooms are checked and stocked regularly in peak times. Improve communication about expected wait times and ongoing updates for families to reduce uncertainty.

The place has changed drastically (for the better) since APT took it over. Parole and Probation would not allow people to come here otherwise. Lots of Food, amenities, an outside smoking area, gym, cell phones allowed, Good staff etc etc. There's now full fencing with locked gates around the facility. It's amazing what there funding has done to the place now that new management is NOT stealing it. Which was the case yrs ago when it was called "Crossroads". If your new to the logistics of getting in here then ask ask ask questions. They don't freely tell you much of anything without asking. Possibly due to the high number of return clients. That's the only reason for 4 not 5 stars IMO.

I was in crisis a few years back because of the shortage of adderall and my dr just retired so I was in bad shape. My head was spinning and I had to work full time and I just needed a two week RX to hold me over until I saw a new dr. So I called them and the person I spoke to was really nice , I explained my situation and she said “come in as soon as you can”. So I went. I was called in immediately and then out of nowhere, was told “we can’t help you “ and was left in the room by myself. I didn’t know what was going on and after 20 mins they brought another patient in and I was like “this is crazy , I’m outta here. “. That’s was agile ago though. Before the pandemic so idk if has changed or not. But I was surprised to be told to leave a metal health facility when I was in complete crisis. I ended up having to pay $300 to a psychiatrist in Stamford for a 10 min visit just to get a $35 Rx. Because after you tell them you’re in crisis they surprisingly don’t take your insurance. It’s a scam. Health care has gotten so bad it’s scary.

Utter disgrace. They claim to take walkins but only when they feel like it. I came in with a very painful infection in my finger and"Oh well, only one Dr on duty so Sorry we dont have time for you, but you can drive 3 towns away and maybe be seen there. I will never return to this disaster of a so called medical facility. 3.3 is generous for a rating. They deserve none. SHAMEFUL After 3 finger amputation, tried to make a physical and was met yet again by the rudest most disrespectful employees. The I began talking about me as I sat waiting because I was 2 min late for an appt I waited 2 months 4¹1

Maggie is the main coordinator at the Counseling Center. He is the greatest human being on the face of this Earth! She will jump through hoops for anybody any given point in time. As far as the other stuff and the therapist and the receptionist and all the behind-the-scenes people who you never get to see you do all the work are also amazing and so friendly it's comforting I highly recommend this place to anybody that seeking help!!!

The best decision I ever made, this wasn't my first treatment center but definitely the last. I spent 6 months here and changed my life forever. The program and top notch AA, the staff is unforgettable. This place can change your life too but remember the work is personal. They give you the tools and teach you how to use them its up to you after that. The program invites you to change you just have to be willing. If you had a bad experience maybe you were looking for an exertional change, this is an inside job at the end of the day. Good luck if you in need of help, this is the first step. Highly recommended.

This place is amazing. The staff is beyond incredible. They make you feel like family. They truly care for you. I stayed for 95 days. Best thing I ever did. Oh and you eat like a king lol some of the best food ever and the bakery is out of this world. In all seriousness this place is an amazing place to get help. I felt welcomed by all the other guests as well. Everyone is there for the same reason so its very easy to get along and you build a family forever . I've been out for over 6 months now and I still talk to at least 15 of the guys. Highly recommend. In fact I have already recommend it to a few people. And i met some people here in bennington vt where I go to AA that went to h.w back in the day. Can't wait to go back for a prime rib dinner soon..
