My son did alcohol detox here. He was very pleased. Hospital setting with nice room and nurses were helpful. He came down with flu and was treated for it. Being a hospital they do not allow smoking and that was difficult. If you need alcohol detox would definitely recommend contacting them.

It’s a great place. The parking is extremely easy. It is located beside the railroad tracks up on a hill. They do draw blood and do labs in house, which is extremely convenient. They offer mental health and general practitioners. No specialties are located there. You’ll need to go to Birmingham for that.

Childersburg VA has an excellent staff, Especially Dr.Michail Shakhmatov. Dr. Shak is very thorough and always takes whatever time is needed to listen to you, and make sure you get the best care. I have been in the VA system for 30 years, and this facility is A1.

As many other reviews here say, going to treatment was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. I knew I needed help, but I was terrified of the process of getting it, especially because I had never known anyone who had done intensive mental health treatment like the kind Magnolia Creek offers. But after completing my treatment at MC, I can honestly say that it is the best and most important thing I have ever done for myself. Magnolia Creek taught me not just about how to recover but also about what led me to my ED in the first place—and why that origin matters.
The group therapies stand out as some of the best conversations I’ve ever had about mental health—all the clinicians at MC contributed to making these talks so meaningful, but especially Sam and Madison! My individual team changed my life with such personal, passionate, empathetic, recovery-focused care. Anna, my therapist, helped me do things in the weeks I was in treatment that I never thought would be possible for me. Because of her and my dietitian, Emma’s, expert care, I am now able to not only handle my ED but also start living a life full of love and care for myself. Anna and her loving spirit and unmatched emotional intelligence challenged me when I needed it and nurtured me when I couldn’t do it for myself. She has left a handprint on my heart I will carry with me in my recovery forever. I also am so thankful for Dylan’s leadership in the nutrition space at MC; his dedication and passion for what MC is doing and for the clients’ recoveries made so much possible for me while I was there.
The rest of the staff at MC was also key to making my experience what it was. I was so scared of what treatment would be, but the RCSes and facility staff made me feel so looked after and safe that I was able to really focus on the hard work of recovery and to let the other worries fade. I’m so grateful for the kindness and care that the staff of MC showed me in my time there.
My life is forever changed by the wonderful programming and people of Magnolia Creek. I can never say thank you enough to everyone there for allowing me the space to imagine and create a better life for myself. I cannot recommend MC—and treatment—more.

Magnolia Creek truly helped me in ways that I didn’t know were possible. Going back to treatment and having to put my life on pause was a difficult and scary decision, but I was welcomed with open arms into a safe place to heal. Over my time at MC, I learned a lot about myself with the help of my amazing team and many other staff/clients. My team was truly the best, they met me where I was at, while also challenging me. I felt genuinely supported, cared for, and seen throughout my experience here. I am forever grateful for all the people I met at Magnolia Creek and how they changed my life and recovery for the better!

***Disclaimer: My review is concerning a delivery experience to the facility.***
This facility placed a very large order of 99 items at Sam's. I accepted the order, and saw that there was no tip attached to it, but assumed since it was such a large order, the customer probably wanted to wait until after everything was delivered before tipping, which is understandable, so I proceeded with shopping for the order.
Things didn't exactly go the way I thought they would, but I've since been tipped (and tipped fairly) for the amount of effort required to complete their order. I really appreciate their willingness to address and rectify this ordeal. It says a lot about the level of importance they place on the people they encounter in the day to day operations of the center, which inadvertently also says a lot about the quality of treatment I'm sure they also give to their patients.

Just had surgery on my prostate the 20th of Nov 2025. Had to stay in the Hospital until the 24th my surgery went well I'm 65 years young and still in pretty good shape. Now I want to thank God and to the Doctor's and Nurses of the entire Uterologist team and the 4th floor Nurses for taking good care of me. I just changed my VA care from Tuscaloosa to VA Birmingham and had my 1st appointment yesterday. They are very friendly and Dr. Marzette seems like a good doctor. He's very friendly and doesn't rush anything. I believe I'm going to like this facility. The only problem I have seen is the parking.

Birmingham Recovery Center provided a space for me to heal mentally, physically, and spiritually during this season in my life. Looking back at my time at BRC, I was met with 1 on 1 therapy, group processing, while being held accountable. I learned how to get honest and vulnerable with the help of the staff there. BRC played a pivotal role in helping me build a foundation for my life while healing from my past. So that I could move forward and live life on life’s terms. I started going to the methadone clinic after my daughter was born. I have never been arrested and I figured it would be really hard to be a dad while in active addiction. That was in 2001. I've moved around to different places, Gadsden, Trussville, Tuscaloosa and others. I really loved the people in Tuscaloosa and hated leaving. I had to return to the Oxford area, to help with my mom who was terminal with cancer. When I transferred back to Oxford they were great. I loved the staff. At one point they were down to a skeleton crew, they did the best they could at the time with what they had. They have gotten more staff now and they are wonderful. I don't feel like my number so much. Yes, they are strict on the rules but look at what they deal with. I can manipulate just about anyone as an active addict. We all have that power. My whole life I've heard horror stories about the VA. The last 2.5 years we have lived with my dad to take care of him. I have nothing but great things to say about the Oxford VA and the nationwide VA pharmacy. They take great care of my dad and are VERY thorough with his care. The nurses treat him like gold and flirt with him, which he loves. They provide almost anything he needs: some of his prescriptions, a hospital bed, liquid thickener, oxygen tank, eye services, psychiatric services, etc. Any time I have had to call they have been sooooo polite and helpful. Same with the pharmacy. I forgot to re-order one of my dad's prescriptions and they got it to me by the NEXT day. The VA isn't perfect, but I feel like they really care about their veterans and their health.

I have nothing but good things to say about this VA Clinic location. The staff are friendly, helpful and service is always very professional and prompt. I enjoyed meeting Dr Coker today. He is friendly, kind and listens to what you have to say. I transferred my care here from that train wreck Rainbow City location. MUCH happier here!

The Lovelady Center is awesome! I have learned to love my self again, how to love other and most importantly how to love God again. I honestly can’t thank Impact and their entire staff enough! I had no clue what to expect with them being my very first treatment center. I’ve never worked the Steps before and truly believed that I was just meant to live the same miserable life that I’ve been living until my death. They showed me that was far from the truth. I can proudly attest to that with today being 90 days sober! This is the longest I’ve been 100% off anything mind-altering since I was 14 years old.
From my very first call with the owner Adams to my last day of the 35 day program, everyone treated me with so much kindness and patience. They teach you everything you need to know in order to live a happy and healthy life without drugs/alcohol, you just have to be willing to not only learn what they teach but also put it all into practice in real life.
Wherever below rock bottom is, I was there for sure before Impact. Adams, Chad, Shaun, Colby, Schwartz, Dikis, Taner, Moody, Sam, Kathleen, and Emily, you are all a Godsend and I thank you for honestly saving my life. Nurses/front desk/dosing staff are great, really sweet people who treat you like you're human. I love that THEY OFFER GRANTS that cover all or most of your treatment.
Focus is definitely not on counseling here, and your experience can vary pretty widely depending on who you get. I'm currently on a by-the-book stickler counselor, but they never last long so hopefully my next one will be better. I think I've had 5+ counselors I've gone through in less than a year because they come and go so quickly.
Dr. Archibald tends to be less than sympathetic to addicts. I'm not sure why people like that work in these places but I guess maybe they start wanting to help then get jaded. One good thing about him though is that he'll prescribe narcotics like Xanax and Adderall on top of the Methadone if you play your cards right.

I learned those are people who are there to help you and they are actually very serious about health and recovery. Now I am a happy, functioning, productive member of society. Counselors knew where to take me and were non-judgemental. Everyone acts as if you are the only client because they give you their full attention (and there is a lot of people coming really)

I want to say how positive my experience at RMC was. My husband had to have a pace maker put in unexpectedly. Dr. Kameron and all the nurses and staff on 3rd floor were amazing. They were attentive, caring, and present the whole time we were there. I can’t say enough good things about this experience. I will forever be grateful for the good care my husband received. I am so thankful we have RMC in our region.

My son was shot 4 times on Jan 31 on my granddaughter’s 13th birthday in front of his father in Bessemer. He was shot twice in the stomach and twice in the chest. He remained calm and called 911 and told God you saved me once so I know you will save me again. He was born three days after my 42nd birthday and received his name due to a healing when they said he was going to die. His name is Blesset Isaiah Person. After he was named after a Nigerian friend named Blessing and my sister-in-law said to name him Isaiah which means the Lord Saves I called and gave my assistant minister his name and the doctors’ cane in and said look like he’s going to pull through to which I responded there is no look like with God! Anyway UAB trauma surgeons are the best in the country. The surgery took about 41/2 hours. He lost a kidney, his spleen, a piece of his pancreas and has a bullet lodged in his back. First off when I made it to the 9th floor trauma unit Fonda gave me a coffee cake and Laquita continued to take care of me and my family daily! The nurses were heavenly divine. There was Abby Vice my favorite and Abby Hadaway my other favorite, plus Emily, and Shantia my son who relieved me and my son the patient’s favorite along with me. Omg all the nurses were so great. The PCAs’ Jason, Jordon, Brady, Daphne and the rest went above and beyond. As for the doctors’ the Trauma doctors were the best this side of heaven. Dr WAN was so kind and friendly. He explained my son’s condition very well as did Dr. Frutata and Dr Wu who discharged him today! Dr Amini made a great impression on me as well and Dr Weiner. They are exceptional and do their jobs in a manner consistent with excellence. I’m proud to have known them! I wish them continued blessings in order to continue to help others’ in their professional journey!💙🔥💙🔥💙🙏🏿
