They not only saved my life but also my future 🙏🙏 Leigh Sargent is an incredible person and a great listener I only had one minor issue with a nurse and Leigh had it fixed immediately!!! If you are struggling with addiction please let her help you..she and her staff are amazing and really fast at getting you in and keeping you comfortable!!!!!!! My personal addiction was alcohol..but I was drinking to stop shaking from side effects from Gabapentin and being an artist that could have been career ending and Leigh absolutely saved me 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 if you are suffering from addiction of any sort or type please do yourself a favor and get some help from her immediately….I can guarantee you not only will she get you through it but she will check on you constantly and her staff as well!! Please remember for those of us with addiction. We done it to ourselves and you will not be judged or talked down to you by her or her staff. Clif is the chef at Magnolia Creek. He is absolutely phenomenal. Not only does he take in every clients accommodations and substitutions, he cooks to perfection. Outside of being an amazing chef, he is such an amazing person. He is so genuine, hilarious, and makes everyone feel so cared for and loved. He helped teach me how to cook certain things I struggled with, or simply things i’ve never had to cook before since I am just an 18 year old that had just graduated high school and still lives under my parents roof. His care is so evident, and he truly made recovery possible. Ashley was an RCS. She was the most loving, funny, caring RCS. She made me feel on top of the world, supported me, laughed with me, talked with me, and always was there to help. She had so much energy and a smile on her face. The work she does at Magnolia Creek has left a permanent mark on my heart. She’s a very special person. Heath is also one of the most amazing people I have ever met. He gave us opportunities to be outdoors to walk, fish, build bird houses, or golf. He made every client feel so seen and understood. He was patient, funny, caring, genuine, and so loving. He made my experience at Magnolia Creek worth all the hard days there. He has left a huge impact on my life—one I will never forget. Both my family and individual therapists were outstanding. Rachel and Kelsey are amazing at their jobs…I was very blessed to have them. Mrs. Cindy was a true light to the darkest days. You never saw her not smiling, and she honestly is the sweetest person ever. I could list out so many more staff members and the impacts they’ve had on my life, but all in all, the staff here is truly unbeatable. Here, clients are limited on personal freedoms like bathroom checks, no room time except at night, and supervised showers, BUT it is all with reason and for the best! The precautions and procedures this place has are all for the betterment of the clients wellbeing and recovery. Likewise, they allow for many outings where we still get to feel like the normal person. We all got to shop, go out to eat, and so much more. The environment itself is just as beautiful and comforting. The other clients were so amazing. they became life long friends and memories i will cherish forever. Magnolia Creek didn’t just help me through treatment—it changed the way I see myself, my recovery, and my future. Leaving was incredibly bittersweet because Magnolia Creek and the people there had become such an important part of my life. Magnolia Creek truly changed my life. Hospital, but I was very pleased with the care my husband received. We came in after hours through the ER. I called and ask for directions how to get him inside, and where to park my car. He was in a transport wheel chair. The lady came out to my car, and called for someone to take my husband inside, while I parked a couple of blocks away. When I got to the ER he was already in a bay, with the IV in his arm. They conducted all the testing & cat scan. Every single person was kinder than the last. They even brought him a breakfast tray. They determined he would be admitted and shortly after that was placed in his room. They also asked if I wanted a bed in the room with him. He was there around 10 days.( I declined) And they absolutely were up to date, kind, and above and beyond anything I would have expected. The parking at the V.A. center and shuttling took a while to navigate, I do wish that had been explained to me sooner. CL W 1 week ago My first time experience at the Birmingham VA was very pleasant. Today's visit was as efficient as I have ever seen. The emergency check in, triage, being checked out by a PA, X-ray, nurse administering shots, very smooth. Everyone was so professional and courteous. Review of the images, discharge, and a reasonable wait at pharmacy, and then out the door I went. From the time of arrival until I departed was just under 2.5 hours. Well done Birmingham VA staff! I have never been arrested and I figured it would be really hard to be a dad while in active addiction. That was in 2001. I've moved around to different places, Gadsden, Trussville, Tuscaloosa and others. I really loved the people in Tuscaloosa and hated leaving. I had to return to the Oxford area, to help with my mom who was terminal with cancer. When I transferred back to Oxford they were great. I loved the staff. At one point they were down to a skeleton crew, they did the best they could at the time with what they had. They have gotten more staff now and they are wonderful. I don't feel like my number so much. Yes, they are strict on the rules but look at what they deal with. I can manipulate just about anyone as an active addict. We all have that power. I am NOT one of them! This facility is well laid out, and the staff is efficient and helpful. I had one glitch with their optometry department, but otherwise, no issues in 2+ years of going here. What they cannot do, they refer out for Community Care, or suggest the Birmingham VA. Despite Birmingham being nearly 2 hours each way, it’s been worth the trip each of the 2 times I went there. Unless I move, I will continue to go to this clinic, and I’ll recommend it. I appreciate the staff there each time I visit. Wingate were the best people & care I have received military or civilian that I can even remember. My anxiety was in full blown mode and April made me feel so understood and she was such a comfort. And B. Wingate made me feel heard and understood and set up all test, meds and referrals that were needed. I feel extremely bless to have had these two taking care of me and can not stress enough how quick , efficient and KIND they both were. The ladies at the front desk were beyond helpful as well getting my future appointments schedule before I left. I have nothing but good things to say for Oxford VA Clinic! He was shot twice in the stomach and twice in the chest. He remained calm and called 911 and told God you saved me once so I know you will save me again. He was born three days after my 42nd birthday and received his name due to a healing when they said he was going to die. His name is Blesset Isaiah Person. After he was named after a Nigerian friend named Blessing and my sister-in-law said to name him Isaiah which means the Lord Saves I called and gave my assistant minister his name and the doctors’ cane in and said look like he’s going to pull through to which I responded there is no look like with God! Anyway UAB trauma surgeons are the best in the country. The surgery took about 41/2 hours. He lost a kidney, his spleen, a piece of his pancreas and has a bullet lodged in his back. First off when I made it to the 9th floor trauma unit Fonda gave me a coffee cake and Laquita continued to take care of me and my family daily! The nurses were heavenly divine. The PCAs’ Jason, Jordon, Brady, Daphne and the rest went above and beyond. As for the doctors’ the Trauma doctors were the best this side of heaven. Dr WAN was so kind and friendly. He explained my son’s condition very well as did Dr. Frutata and Dr Wu who discharged him today! Dr Amini made a great impression on me as well and Dr Weiner. I was thankful that I had a SCA approved by insurance so I would never be able to go back with my insurance/being out of state. I was in treatment from Jan. 2025 until October of 2025 going through all levels of care offered. I came out of a college environment doing online treatment through Within Health. So this was a complete 360 for me. I think a person’s experience truly depends on when they were there. This is because the biggest concern that my insurance even noted is the staff over turn. Specifically in Direct Care Staff (DCS). During my time there, there was also a transition with at least one RD, and a handful of therapists who did not stay. I truly believe as some were for personal reasons and others for because of how Alsana was. The supervision and quality of care from DCS was very poor during my months of Res specifically from Night time staff. This was my first 8 weeks. Staff did eventually get fired or quit but it took a long time. Leadership was always messy and something I did not get to see figured out. This cannot be controlled but sometimes the group of clients you are with (the milieu) can make it or break it“. During my time I made a solid group of friends and we became tight. Of course as people came and went it changed. Many friends I am still in contact with today. You are not gonna jam with everyone you meet. Everyone is going through the unspoken so you really have to be determined to recover in any level. Although you can ACA, you are not forced to stay. During my time DCS Alden, Mya (not spelled that way), Tiffany, Demetria, Zoe were phenomenal. The nursing staff was great and made sure I always got what I needed. Deb, Brooke, Alex, Michelle, Sylvia… You rock!! What pushes my rating on this place is the quality of care from my therapists and RD’s. Working with one team in Residential and one team in PHP/IOP. Kimberly Ward, Callie Mauldin, Lia Puzzo (temporary/left), Kaitlyn Martin/Weldy were my main people. Because of my past I clicked really well with Kim and she truly changed my life. Alsana is really open to you leaning into your faith and welcomes it. If you also do not follow a religion or different spiritual beliefs it is not brought up. It was something I spoke up about and integrated into my sessions. The Psychiatrists that they had when I left was great! The website does need to be updated and changed as the inside has. No complaints about quality of beds! Just be prepared it is cold. Main Rooms have been flopped and needed revamping when I left . I stay in touch by email with my team when I can and went straight into having a full OP team. Psych, RD, and Therapist. Treatment is like college. There is different options because not every place is gonna be a good fit. I mean, when it comes to treatment it should be. The healthcare system itself needs much help.
