Lindsey Garrod Stated I signed up for residential treatment and that I had a surgery coming up on the 13th which is false, I received no copy of anything i signed on a digital pad and not once did they flip the screen around to show me what I was told I was signing.I stated that I had an issue with the neighbors tree falling on my roof and I needed to fly out for a vacation on the 13th. Please note the complete nursing staff was exceptionally professional and very knowledgeable about what they do. I did not like the kiddy snacks they provided they definitely could improve on catering to adults who need to eat healthy. But my main complaint is with Lindsey Garrod who wrote what she pleased and not what I said.

I had to schedule this appointment in advance, meaning it was not same day. During that time, had I known that I would just be an inconvenience to them, I could have scheduled my intake appointment for major depression somewhere else. I arrived to my appointment. I was given forms to fill out. Filled them out. Sat and waited over 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. They called everyone else in except me. Another patient that left forgot something, and the front desk staff called them. After 45 minutes, I accepted that I was just sitting there wasting my time, so I got up and left. Nobody tried to stop me or ask where I was going. Nobody called me to ask if I was coming back or if I wanted to reschedule (I don't). Nobody reached out the next day to see what happened. Like I said, had I known they just wanted to waste my time for no reason, I could have set up this intake appointment elsewhere that I so desperately needed and now have sort of given up on scheduling anywhere else. Oh, and I'm a Community employee, what great care their employees receive. Thanks.

I wanted help no core order no nothing it was me seeking help. It was also somewhere that could get me in. I was actually excited to go to rehab. I know it was gonna suck, but I was excited to get my life back. When I first got there and they took all of my info, I sat in this room for 6 hours alone. I had my prescriptions that I had brought in w/ me & one of my meds I have been on for 10 years. They accepted me, but they said they would not give me my medicine which is a benzo, but I do not abuse those I was there for an opiate problem. I have panic attacks. My heart rate gets super high tachycardia, but I accepted Because I really wanted help. And I know you can t come cold turkey off of a benzo. So I was thinking that they would give me something of their own to calm me down, no matter the form of the benzo .If I got that medication, even if it was an Ativan to keep me comfortable, I Would have been fine. Everyone there got a benzo to help with their withdrawals. I got no comfort meds. I checked out two days early I felt confident And knew I wasn t gonna use an opiate again and the opiatewithdrawal was not very bothersome. It was the benzo cutting me off the way they did. Cold turkey could have really killed me. you can t see the doctor until your 3rd day there. I physically could not move. They had to put an IV in me. Which got infiltrated So I had to walk all the way up to the front desk with a huge hand, carrying the IV bag . My arms looked so bad from them trying to get this IV in me they should have sent me to the hospital. I honestly think it s something I totally could have done at home I really feel like they did not help me. I know the withdrawal symptoms were from my prescribed medication. The first day there the withdrawals from the opiate started and they would not listen to me. They had all my doctor records about why I needed to be on this medication & for how long . and all the heart problems I have I do not recommend this place just thinking about this place makes me sick to my stomach they don t listen and did not comfort me the way they comforted the other girls I ended up in the hospital two days because I had benzo belly .

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. IOP offers group therapy several days and evenings per week. Education is offered to individuals and their families through special weekly family programming. Individuals are expected to participate in a 12-step recovery program. Special groups are available for chronic relapse patients.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving support in a rehab aftercare program have completed inpatient care and may also be preparing to exit formal outpatient care. Outpatient services are typically categorized as rehab aftercare, but these services often continue beyond the cessation of formal treatment. Rehab aftercare services are designed to promote life-long recovery through comprehensive, wraparound care, which may include medical, mental health, and social services. These programs are usually created in collaboration with the client's case manager and care team.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When removing addictive substances from your body under the care of licensed medical professionals, the process is called medically assisted detox. Once you've become physically dependent on substances like alcohol, opioids, or benzodiazepines, quitting can be uncomfortable or even dangerous. To minimize risks to your health and overall discomfort, a team of medical professionals monitors you 24/7 and provides medications if necessary (like Suboxone or methadone) to ease potential symptoms of withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

For long-term recovery from drug addiction, drug rehab in Indiana is often key. This treatment gives individuals who are struggling with a substance use disorder the tools to manage their disorder and achieve long-term sobriety.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

When you participate in cognitive behavioral therapy in Indiana, you'll learn to recognize distorted thinking that has led to substance use. Your therapist will help you establish new patterns of thinking and healthy ways to cope with challenges that don't involve substance use.

Individual dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) takes place in weekly, 60 minute sessions. You'll have homework to do, such as keeping a diary to track your emotions and actions. You'll also attend group sessions, which are intended to be skills practicing sessions. DBT in Indiana typically lasts six months to a year.

equine-therapy iconEquine Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Qualified therapists in Indiana use a customized treatment approach for individual therapy to address your drug and alcohol addiction treatment. This considers your past history and life circumstances to help you uncover the underlying issues that trigger addictive behavior and manage these factors to support a healthy approach to recovery.

Motivational interviewing aims to stimulate the client's personal motivation and commitment to change. Rather than receive advice and warnings from the therapist, the client is given the opportunity to share their concerns and reach their own conclusions.

During trauma therapy in Indiana, your therapist helps you process traumatic experiences and learn how they affect your emotional, mental, and physical responses. You learn effective coping strategies that help to reduce the symptoms and improve your mental health and well being.

In couples therapy, you and your partner work with a psychologist to identify challenges in the relationship and what changes need to be made. You'll work on listening, communicating, and navigating those changes in healthy ways.

eye-movement iconEye Movement Desensitization And Reprocessing

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Life skills include cognitive skills, interpersonal skills, and personal skills that help you manage daily living. Cultivating these skills during rehab in Indiana is an important part of recovery. With these skills, you'll be able to navigate challenges and prevent relapse.

To function properly, your body must have nutritional balance. Addiction throws off this balance by depleting your body of essential nutrients. Nutrition therapy aims to restore this balance by providing a healthy diet that supports healing and long term sobriety.

Recreational therapy integrates structured activities into a holistic treatment program to help promote your physical and mental health and well being. You might engage in sports, creative arts, or outdoor adventures as a positive outlet for your stress and emotions. This helps you develop new interests and build a supportive network that helps you maintain long term sobriety.

Creative arts therapy opens an alternative pathway to emotional health. For those who find it difficult to talk about their feelings, it provides a new way to express feelings and thoughts. Options include poetry, music, journaling, dance, and painting.

Experiential therapy is often provided in conjunction with talk therapy. It is offered in inpatient and outpatient settings and may occur in individual or group formats. The basic components are an activity that evokes creative expression and emotion and a therapist to facilitate analysis of your reactions and perceptions.

Feelings of withdrawal and intense cigarette cravings make quitting smoking difficult. Nicotine replacement therapy can double your chances of long term success. This therapy provides a small amount of nicotine, so you can slowly wean yourself off this addictive substance.

Detox is hard, and you are miserable when you first get there. But these people know what they are doing. The staff and nurses are amazing people, some who have been addicts themselves.

After agreeing I would seek help at Fairbanks, I was left sitting in a room for 4 hours. I was shown no compassion. No one would give me any idea of how long I would have to wait. Also nobody checked on me unless my wife went and searched for someone. My experience with them was absolute ridiculousness.

apparently if you go to the ER because you need meds to keep you from dying with withdrawals, and then they refer you to fairbanks they’re going to turn you down, even if you get the clearance from fairbanks corporate saying that you need to finish detox there. this facility is a joke and has always been helpful to my family until now. RCA has been much more understanding and patient and helpful and overall a much nicer facility.

If you're having a drug problem GO HERE not valley Vista. You can show up drunk or high, or even actively withdrawing. The staff is absolutely amazing and they can help you make arrangements for living, for therapy, the works. And you can smoke cigarettes here too, it's not psych ward level security so you can bring some personal possessions. The only downside is no cell phone.
