About Life Center of Galax

One thing that I like about this facility is that it offers addiction treatment for a variety of drugs. Clients can receive help for addictions to heroin, marijuana, meth and other substances. They also provide assistance for those struggling with prescription drug addiction. Life Center of Galax features a qualified staff that includes board certified psychiatrists, licensed counselors and nurse practitioners. Most patients will start by undergoing their detox program with assistance from the 24 hour nursing staff. If medication assisted treatment is necessary for opiate addiction, patients may receive methadone, Vivitrol or buprenorphine. All of the medications are designed to alleviate withdrawal symptoms and drug cravings.

In the residential treatment program, clients receive assessments, testing and interviews to develop a treatment plan. The treatment plan is also adjusted throughout the time the client is there. Therapeutic treatments that clients may receive include reality therapy, experiential therapy and cognitive therapy.

In the outpatient drug rehab program, clients receive a less intense approach through day support that gives them the flexibility to leave the center after the completion of treatment for the day. Services in this program include group therapy and leisure activities.

I wish I could give negative stars. I'm just leaving the place administratively discharged. I was returning from a doctor's appointment and when I got to my cottage they told me I had to be searched I complied they searched me found no contraband and then drug test and passed it. Later that evening a patient asked me if I was okay and said that the tech brandy and Xavier pulled him up questioning him and telling him I was awake all night (not true) and I was sweating profusely (on methadone so possible) and then he said they told me you went to urgent care so something must be wrong with me (HIPPA violation) I talked to a guy named Mark and he told me he would get to the bottom of it and they were in the wrong he told me not to worry. Also when I was searched it was done by techs and not security which is against protocol. I told them I wanted to report the HIPPA violation. The next day I was pulled out of lunch told to stop eating and go see a man named Josh. I complied. When I got into his office he told me I was being administratively discharged because a tech seen me pick up dope hand to hand with someone in a black Mercedes.(Like the movies) (Also very untrue) Then he said he had multiple reports that I was using drugs (passed drug test) when I asked to please show proof and allow me to stay and get the treatment that was paid for he said it was already decided by the treatment team. He called a lady named Susan and was on speaker phone when she shut us down for conversation and said "he needs to leave today so pack his shit" and hung up. Yea this place is insane and please save yourself trouble and stay away! Also does anyone know how to file a HIPPA violation because I know they won't. Thanks for reading!

Life Center of Galax works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Great place to get the rehabilitation you need, IF you're willing to work for it. The staff and the service workers who come (Jay Malcolm & Pastor Jill) are absolutely amazing as long as your request is in their power. Miss Kay, Miss Debbie, Alex, Brandon & Noah all deserve a round of applause and more for the steps they take to help the patients & to keep things running as smooth as possible.

Chrissy and Rhonda are my Techs at the off campus house and they do a great job.I also had a great experience while I was there. The classes are alil long but it's very informative and the teachers do their best. The only problem I had was the other patients act like children. The program itself is a great program.
