After countless hours working with different therapists, psychologists, and various specialists, I finally was given a chance to move forward from a road block diagnosis given to me after 30 minutes with a doctor in Acadia as a teenager. I literally cried at my initial assessment when Chris was willing to try a new route and actually hear my story. They blood test you, which can be a glaringly obvious source of internal dysfunction. They refer you for testing and therapy. This is the one place I have not felt bullied into taking one type of medication that has no positive aspects for me. If MBH wasn't it for you, keep looking. Eventually you will find someone who is willing to help you.

Great support and services and dreams logan as well as counseling and IOP address what help you need and get you there and listen to you. Dr logan is a blessing in my recovery and mental health as well as all staff. They are always busy and that's normal but I will never go anywhere else for help. I was so impressed with Dr. Logan's first appointment with my son. His knowledge and demeanor were top notch. Within minutes it was obvious that he had read over the assessment and understood my son and his needs. We have had experiences with several substance abuse agencies and this is the first that we have been thoroughly hopeful about.

It's was ok ,. Some one kept walking in a couple of times but I handled it

All of the staff should be thanked everyday for helping all of the kids during this hard time in there lives. You are not told this by many which is wrong because without you those kids would not have anyone. Thank you for everything you do.

I've only been using the v a system for about three years.I must say i've been very pleased. I would say, I have had a 95% success rate with everybody. I've dealt with like anything in life. You're going to have a few bad examples. But you cannot judge the whole system. Based on the few i can drive 55 minutes to an hour to that facility. Be in and be seen by the time I even get checked in at a regular emergency room. And when you do get care, I find it to be phenomenal.

I had to complete a zoom class for something that happened over 7 years ago and was dreading it as I finally had the time to with two small children at home one with autism—Amy Kimball made the process tolerable. She didn’t just treat me like another patient and seemed to be able to understand the changes I had made in my life since having children and made the process less painful but I also felt like I wasn’t wasting my life and self reflecting for the future. Now everything is back to normal after a long wait from the dmv and life goes on. Thank you! Have and would recommend to friends.

They are nice and understanding and if u need to set up more sessions its easy as a phone call and it can be hard to find someone that is understanding

These people are fantastic. They take my issues so seriously and work so hard to provide an exquisite level of care. Under their guidance I have noticed much improvement. Even though my journey has not finished and probably never will, I’m blessed to have these wonderful people on my team. I could gush all day but you, dear reader, get the idea. My and others’ time is well spent here. Thanks to all the hard workers under the KBH roof. They give me such hope for the future. Cannot recommend enough.

I love this place. The nurses are all great. My oncologist is great. Katelyn is the best whatever she is, I can't even remember her job title since I met her when I was all loopy in the hospital. But basically if you ever need anything she's the one who will get it all sorted out even if she has to talk to fifty other people first. The infusion chairs are super comfy. Everyone is so helpful.

Being with caring professionals & other individuals who know &/or share in your same problems can be (& is for me) an important part of recovery! Being honest with yourself & others concerning your addiction is a road to recovery. Everyone can benefit from the services offered by the Addiction Resource Center. The incredible staff, the mutual respect & understanding of others & any necessary medications &/or programs which can be so beneficial to anyone interested in making the decision to become sober make their program an important option to consider. The hardest part is making that first decision to walk thru their doors. After that....the experience can be what saves your life!

These people can only hope no one is in desperate need of help right now. They would be till next week to get one of them to answer the phone. I followed my Dr. back there instead of Bar Harbor because Ellsworth was closer, but trying to get in touch with your Dr. through Downeast Treatment Center is nearly impossible because trained staff can't answer the phone. This is supposed to be a Treatment recovery center, God forbid if it were an emergency..

After an isolated Middle East duty tour with the US Navy, I developed PTSD. Over the years this developed into depression, anxiety and insomnia. The VA has been a big help in treating these conditions, but I felt I needed a second opinion in regard to medications that may help me. I referred myself into the community to see if AMHC could help. There I met Jennifer and Jessica and was enrolled in an CCBHC (Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic) grant program, which designates certain clinics and provides a comprehensive range of substance abuse and mental health services. After registration I was assigned to Doctor Deerfield, a psychiatrist and medication specialist. A few days later I notified my VA mental health nurse and expressed that I would like to stay with Doctor Deerfield exclusively, and that was noted and respected by the VA. After the first visit with Doctor Deerfield, I realized she had wonderful energy. Her calm presence and knowledge made it easy to speak with her. Doctor Deerfield offered an abundance of verbal support and information regarding medications and offered a new medication. I feel I am making progress towards feeling better and healthier. I am keeping a log of how the medication is working each night so I can review it with the doctor on my follow-up visit. I feel confident with the knowledge and experience Dr. Deerfield has to offer. I made a good decision following up with Aroostook Mental Health and Counseling. I would like to send a special thank you to Sharon Carroll for the excellent and productive meeting today (11/3/22) regarding the situations that I am experiencing. The counselors and clinicians at AMHC are compassionate. personable, knowledgeable and professional. Our conversation was relevant and encouraging. Sharon asked powerful and constructive questions that helped bring clarity to my situation, as she shared her wisdom and insight. Sharon, as well as Doctor Deerfield displayed a calm presence, diverse knowledge and a heart-centered awareness towards my diagnosis. I felt connected and supported through our first video conference and look forward to eventually meeting Sharon in person at some point in the near future. Thanks again AMHC and Sharon for your care and concern.

As someone who does better with more human level interactions between myself and my care team this place has been awesome. I've had two case managers and two therapists here, both of the first moved to different fields, and med management for almost four years through MBHO. I've never done well with that button up all business approach alot of agencies use, so if that's what you're looking for look elsewhere. If you want providers that try to really get to know YOU and not just treat you like client #123, then this agency will be exactly what you're looking for. They put you center in your care and don't handhold through everything so you have to actually try and participate in your own care. My mental, physical and social health have improved by leaps and bounds because I had to say what my goals are not be told what goals are "best". If you are looking to heal and not just maintain by going through the motions then MBHO has what you need.

The staff is very helpful it's 100% confidential no names needed no police no worry please come get what you need to be safe and while your there get tested and get they can guide you in the right direction to get help be it health safety food shelter ect. They have information on local resources plz call or stop in ..

Dr yung has been so helpful to me! I always feel listen to, heard and she goes out of her way to make sure I can get the care that I need.
