The nurses and services here are very professional yet down to earth and joyful. These services include nurses, your own doctor, and a counselor of your own choosing if they are not full and available. One is no better than the other, just better suited for the individual. They find ways to work with you and help you no matter your situation. And most of all they genuinely care! They also have the tools to help you in your situation, including a big which is transportation and filling out paperwork, such as insurance, DHS, and so on. It's not impossible anymore, give yourself and your loved ones a chance with people you can trust that really care for your happiness and believe in what they are doing!

Great place for people who are in desperate need of the services they provide they should have one in every county...NEVERMIND...I have to change my review as these people kicked out a patient who did absolutely nothing wrong but buy a house a county over and they kicked her out with no warning after they made her an appointment she was going to pay cash for. When she arrived they told her she had been discharged and didn't have an appointment and she wouldn't be seen and not get the refill of her meds.. You can not do this to people who rely on this medication to live ..So now instead of have a woman who works her butt off to take care of her family you the taxpayer get to pay for her welfare because of stupid rules like medicaid refusing to pay because it's to far which its maybe 16 miles more and this terrible clinic for pulling this and canceling her appointments more than likely they don't want cash customers because they can't grossly overcharge like they do medicaid

I have never met more kind, amazing, warm-hearted welcoming staff and peers in my entire life. IT works if YOU make it work. 90% of the staff is nothing short of incredibly amazing. There’s a couple that could work on their “bedside manner” and empathy; but when it was brought to someone’s attention they had issues with that because they just learned self-advocacy, an open “adult-dialogue” was welcomed and encouraged. I have been a patient at A2VA for almost 15 years now. I was reluctant at first, because my family has had an active member in the military going back every generation since 1623 and, well, it's been made public throughout that veterans had been forgotten or pushed aside after they have given what they could. My time as an outpatient has been better than it was when I had private insurance, although the Community Care department is abysmal. Seriously, if you need care outside of the VA in a civilian hospital, just pay for civilian Healthcare. Dozens of stories on this topic, but there is one where I have repeated, REPEATED, issues with and that is in-patient care. They say once is an occurrence; twice is a coincidence; but three times is a trend. I have been in that hospital for major surgeries 3x now and, despite my general lack of fear of anything, I will never be admitted into this one again. After a discectomy this week, everything was great. Pain was managed, felt ok but groggy, and surgical staff was helpful and on point. Until they left and went home for the day. A nurse came in to relieve who explained he wasn't a floor nurse, rather is assigned to the ICU. OH DO I KNOW WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IS, BEING MARRIED TO A LONG TIME ICU NURSE. The orders for IV meds for breakthrough pain was ordered, just never delivered. I was told, by that nurse and every....single....staff member that the hospital policy, was to not give any pain meds unless absolutely necessary, and not before the time allotted.....8 hours in this case. Now this was my 32nd surgery under general anesthesia; I know what to expect. Boy was i wrong. Apparently what was called a policy was really a directive by the sitting Director Ginny Creaseman. A Pharmacist by trade (who puts a Pharmacist in charge of people????????), by the way. I called friends at Toledo and Detroit who are managers there and they have never heard of such a thing. Imagine my amazement. This was my 3rd time getting the same treatment since 2018. Guess when Creasman started? Yep. We have 23 veterans suck starting a revolver every day and now I am starting to get it. It's hospitals that are always under some Hilton-like transformation that vets get the worst care. There is an old adage in the Navy that says "It doesn't have to work, it just has to look good." No truer words could be spoken on this place, Congressman Dingle. I know you are buddies, but if you truly love your vets like you seem to.... fire her immediately.

An excellent place to go if you have an out of control addiction and need help. Or if you just fell off and need a hand getting back up.
Friendly staff, smoke breaks, ample time to socialize and work out our problems amongst ourselves... the place is amazing. And welcoming to people that return.
We can't all always get it right on the first go around. Sometimes it takes two, three, four... hell, even thirty tries. But admitting that there's a problem and working to fix it is the first step. And this place is an excellent resource if you need that kind of help.
I'm also an atheist. If you're worried about going to a church-affiliated group, don't be. They take a light touch with religion (mostly stuff in the daily readings), and try to be open to everyone. Same goes for LGBTQ+ folk: this is a safe place.
If you need help, these folks are who you need to get started
