Bear River gave me a fantastic start in my recovery! I went to detox and ended up coming home with the Sublacade shot. The detox staff is very patient and extremely helpful and went out of their way to make me as comfortable as I could be. The Dr and nursing staff were attentive and I felt like they all truly wanted to help. I would recommend Bear River to anybody trying to get clean!!

I want to thank the entire staff of My Michigan-Midland Emergency Room for their attentive and helpful care on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Special thanks to our M.D. Dr. Kuchenmeister, our nurse Kennedy, the CT Scan staff, and the lab staff. ERs are famously overburdened and understaffed but as a patient I was never aware of the pace or stress rhey were working under. Back home and feeling much better. Thank you again, Cheryl Anderson

This program has done so many good things for our family and my son who attended this year. Our son had been struggling for almost a year after a very bad car accident and he unfortunately began to abuse his pain pills. They really strive on the fact that you go at your own pace through the program to ensure that you are getting the most out of it. They do not want you to move alongside others their just because they may be going at a different pace than you. There are many different groups to choose to partake in and you get to customize things in terms of what is of interest to you. It is a very beautiful and tranquil center to receive treatment at. He was able to focus on himself in all areas, body, mind and spirit. The staff ensures a clean and inviting center to be at, they all work together to make sure that you are well taken care of and they offer great meals by an amazing cook as well. We are thoroughly grateful.

As great as my counselor has been, I will be discontinuing my visits due to the incompetence of the office staff. Giving me the runaround over $150 they charged me without ever even sending me an invitation to my online visit. They even ignored my call when I reached out for my invite. Now 3 weeks of struggling to get a refund and still no help. I was promised a call back earlier this week, then again today when I reached out again, and obviously by this message they did not call me back. I will have to wait until Monday to reach out again. What an absolute mess of a crew.

My experience with Milford Counseling happened about a year ago, when I brought in a 15-year-old because I was desperately trying to get him the help and support he needed. I never expected that seeking help would become one of the most traumatic experiences I have ever gone through. It has now been a year, and I am still carrying the emotional weight of what happened. I continue to think about the experience and how it affected me. I believe I may be experiencing PTSD because of what I went through. That is what makes this so difficult for me to write. A year later, I am still affected by an experience that happened when I was simply trying to help my child. When someone walks into a counseling center, they are often already overwhelmed, scared, and vulnerable. They are trusting that the people there will listen, help, and treat them with compassion. I left feeling anything but supported. I hope Milford Counseling understands that the way a person is treated during a vulnerable moment can stay with them long after they leave. For me, this wasn't something I could simply move past when I walked out the door. A year later, I am still dealing with the weight of it. I was lucky to find my son a counselor elsewhere who has helped tremendously. I’m glad I made quick decisions to get my son the help he needed it elsewhere.

Absolutely amazing staff! Love Heather and Maurice. They have a great residential program for substance abuse. They offer group therapy and one on one counseling sessions. A family member was treated here. I went and visited during visitation hours. The staff I met were very kind. He had said the same. He got help not only with present recovery but tools to help him stay sober. They also helped him with his next steps like getting into a sober living. They inspired him to one day become a sponsor himself. He enjoys most of the company he had there. I enjoyed that Monday through Friday he would get his own personal phone for twenty minutes to make calls and texts from. It allowed me to send him photos to keep him involved. When I couldn't make a visitation they tried their best to accommodate and do a brief video visit instead. All around they greatly cared for him presently and his future. They even helped with transportation to the sober living. The only negatives were that sometimes you don't always get a very good roommate and theft happens. Plus the food wasn't always great he said, but you can't please everyone all the time with every meal when you get that many people together. I would suggest having more options during meal times though, possibly a microwave and some ramen or something for those who don't like whatever is served. Overall this place really helped him grow. I can't wait to see what the rest of his future brings for him and our family.

I was a junkie for almost 20 years years. I went to the center 8/8/2018 and had to leave even b 4 I was ready for medical reasons and to this day I don't touch needles nor do drugs. I even have a medical Marijuana card for pain instead of getting back on pills where my addiction began. Don't get me wrong I still have days I want to use but with the tools I used there in the 45 days I stayed or so. I would like to share my gratitude with the treatment centers staff and the time I spent with my counselors and and I hope they reach out to me one day for my story. Thank you for my life back good and bad it's all me and my family together again. I am so grateful.
