After they scanned my brain they rushed me to McLaren Flint because of their Neurologist team is the best to deal with what was going on with me. Turned out they caught 2 aneurysms behind both of my eyes. They helped to save my life. I'm forever grateful. Staff was great... building was clean and no bedbugs ...lol Matthew Roeder 1 year ago A family member was treated here. I went and visited during visitation hours. The staff I met were very kind. He had said the same. He got help not only with present recovery but tools to help him stay sober. They also helped him with his next steps like getting into a sober living. They inspired him to one day become a sponsor himself. He enjoys most of the company he had there. I enjoyed that Monday through Friday he would get his own personal phone for twenty minutes to make calls and texts from. It allowed me to send him photos to keep him involved. When I couldn't make a visitation they tried their best to accommodate and do a brief video visit instead. All around they greatly cared for him presently and his future. They even helped with transportation to the sober living. The only negatives were that sometimes you don't always get a very good roommate and theft happens. Plus the food wasn't always great he said, but you can't please everyone all the time with every meal when you get that many people together. I would suggest having more options during meal times though, possibly a microwave and some ramen or something for those who don't like whatever is served. Overall this place really helped him grow. I even have a medical Marijuana card for pain instead of getting back on pills where my addiction began. Don't get me wrong I still have days I want to use but with the tools I used there in the 45 days I stayed or so. The doctors, pulmonary and PA'S were very efficient and willing to talk to us and explain things to each of us. There were three very special nurses whom were more Angels than medical professionals. I dare say they will go far in their chosen professions. The nurses are: Bailey H. R.N., Bridgit R.N. and Anna R.N. They were very professional and at the same time compassionate and caring. They always called my husband by his preferred name: "Lyman" and whenever they came in the room always talked to him and explained what they were doing. Of course there's always an exception and I wasn't going to call them out, but I was told that the hospital wanted to know where improvements are need. So, that being said, Molly, R.N. wasn't as open to questions as others were and she never spoke to Lyman when she came in the room. I don't know if she was just learning or shy, but she really needs to speak to the patients even if they are comatose. Also, Phyllis called Lyman --Frank. I asked her if she'd just called my husband Frank and she said,."yes, I'm sorry.". Apology accepted until it kept happening every time she came in to check on him. Maybe she thought it was funny and she was trying to be humorous, but none of us were impressed. We stopped correcting her. Other than that we had a very positive experience. These used horrible shaming and demoralizing tactics to get us to comply to rules. I was sent there for my drinking but, I wasnt ready was doing under court order. The people were fantastic!!! We went on outings on the weekends, meetings everyday and the gym a few times a week. The one I remember the most is Bobby he was always on my ass but he knew I needed it I guess. I didn't stay sober after leaving but I am now 10 years sober and I used what I learned there to help me. They have people there that have been through it they are not just reading books about addiction they lived it just like me.
