We enjoyed our stay! We had caring helpful staff! The privacy for each patient is takin seriously. I would highly recommend coming here because they allow husband and wife, your phone, and they provide the successful lectures to help u make it out in the real world. Their food is relatively good quality, and the portions are more than u may need. They provide medicated assistance to help you with the withdrawals. The staff are very friendly and truly put your total care at heart. Every patient is accommodating, and welcoming. This does help everyone coming in a lot! Mama cleans her butt off and leaves you feeling cared for and like your her own kid! She puts her all into her hard work and is a very kind, caring soul! Kellie will help u along the way figure out what is bothering you and get to the root of the problem you have, only if you’re ready. James does this as well. Two very good counselors who have been through their own situations and use this to help others. Ronda always puts your health above and goes above and beyond to make sure u are taking care of. Shes a wonderful nurse! Allison is very sweet and kind hearted and will do anything it takes to make u feel at peace and have that active listening skill, she is persistent and so is Mel. They both are great at what they do! The lectures are very educational and give u all the tools you may need to out into your tool box to take with you when you leave. She asks me questions that make me think 🤔 which help her determine the best medications and self care practices I should be doing. She is a delight to work with. I checked myself into the Cox North treatment center about 2010. Got set up on Suboxone. Unfortunately I ended up getting fired before I could finish the treatment and had to get off it all by myself. And I was on 24 mg a day three pills. I wish I’d have been on 2 mg a day. When I tried winning it down myself I realized 2 mg a day was keeping the problems away if you know what I mean. But it does work! Your poop’s going to be pretty loose for a long time if you were on opiates but Imodium will help LOL anyways don’t give up people!

Queen of Peace gave me the tools to save myself from alcohol addiction. Overall, I found the staff to be dedicated, hardworking, and compassionate.
It’s scary admitting you need help with an addiction, especially when you realize you need inpatient treatment. I had a tough time adjusting at first (ended up with 8! roommates in 2 months) but the counselors, peer support staff, and BHTs were always understanding, and supportive. Having access to the beautiful chapel was a blessing as well.
The outpatient program is just as helpful as inpatient. It’s the perfect way to transition back to your “new” normal life.

The difference between this treatment center and the rest has to do with the exceptional people that work there. They’re non-judgmental, compassionate, they’re not critical of us when we make a bad judgment call. This is they’re statement “Triumphing over opioid addiction by integrating treatment, counseling and COMPASSIONATE PATIENT CARE THAT SAVES LIVES”. The last sentence is remarkable, true and they mean it. I’ve been addicted over 40 yrs. I’ve wasted an entire lifetime. This is the first TX center that didn’t make me feel ashamed, judged and no one working there is anything but special, caring, compassionate and kind. I’ve never got clean out here before. I want to point out Shayna care coordinator, she goes above and beyond to help someone ! My son was a patient here for a month and a half. I think treatment team did a lot to help him ! Unfortunately he made some choices good and bad really ! He did try but probably needed more attention with his medications for his mental health issues. They all did a lot to help him. I would recommend them if you want to stay clean and learn more skills to cope !! 💯 %.

I’ve not personally used your resources but know of several close friends and family members who have. Majority of them have kept to the guidelines and resources they learned from their time spent with your faculty. I’ve seen their lives do a 360 in just short period and true change. I love this place, because it helps me love myself. get to know myself. it’s really a growing spot people can really grow here( spiritually , mentally and physically) when you’re on drugs you know you stuck! now you lie to yourself and you don’t even know it. you know they help me recognize my lies in me. the way you think backwards sometimes you know; I used to think they were good and I like them in the matter is that are not good for me and they never had been. it’ s taken relationship my friends my kids . They teach me how to gain my dignity back my respect for me and others. how I can be balanced I’m learning not to drink from my lower self but my higher self as like what would your God. It’s about being a better person that I was contagious for and keep that going and growing.

I AM VIETNAM COMBAT VETERAN. THE VA HAD NO ROOMS SO I HAD TO CHOOSE FROM 4 HOSPITALS. SO HAD PREVIOUSLY TAKEN MY WIFE WHO HAS MS TO ST. JOSEPH’S AND WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE WAY SHE CARED FOR. SO I CHOSE TO GO TO ST. JOSEPH’S I HAD SERIOUS LEG INFECTION THAT DID NOT ALLOW ME TO WALK. THEY OPERATED ON ME QUIKLY AND I WAS WALKING IN A WEEK. THIS HOSPITAL IS AWESOME 👌

Very happy with all the knowledge I left here with. The accommodations are pretty good (only recovery place I’ve been). But others who have been to others, mentioned how much better this place is. Just keep in mind you are going there to focus on you. Absorb all the group information and take notes. The staff os all amazing!

The staff at the Aviary, particularly the wonderful nurses, were a crucial factor in my experience. The program’s structure is solid if you listen, learn and keep an open mind. The group experience was average, although some were much better than others. All in all, I am very grateful that I found a place to heal and clear my mind. I have to say the food is average, and the “barn” needs central air. I had to leave a few times because of the heat. However, I needed help, and I found it here.

Just wanted to comment on the staff. I spoke with Julie in administration about a problem that I had and honestly I had no idea where to even begin. She took the time to be compassionate and understanding, even though her office just happened to be the first one that I knocked on. I’ve tried a few methadone clinics, this one is the best I’ve seen. They do have a few rules that seem rather stupid, but they have gov oversight, so ya have to deal with that kind of BS anywhere you go. They are definitely the nicest and the friendliest out of all the ones T have been to.
Update… the staff that you interact with i.e. the counclers and the nurses are definitely very nice and appear to be honestly intrested in the clients wellbeing, however it took a few months…like 6 or 8 months for the office staff to get my VA insurance worked out and I had to pay cash in the meantime. That was over 2 years ago and they still have not re-embersed a single Penney however I verified with the Va the were paid twice once by me and once by the Va. Should be a law against that sort of thing. I believe it is called fraudulent billing…. If they end up owning you money don’t expect to see it soon…however if you owe them and can not pay the will start detoxing you, they did to me when I told them I get paid in 3 days … they detoxed me for those 3 days. Good luck if you have no other options.

Great place. Great counclers. Clean. They have clean bathrooms. Very friendly staff. They have the new check in mobile system so it saves your spot in line. They are fair. Some of the rules are a little silky but they don’t set those, Corporate does. So it’s not the staffs fault at this location. They probably saved my life. The doctors is very helpful and understanding. She listens. The nurse is a godsend. And the counclers are top of the line.

Detox is also known as detoxification and is a critical first step in beginning recovery from a substance use disorder at treatment centers in Missouri. The process eliminates drugs or alcohol from the body while managing the often dangerous and uncomfortable symptoms of withdrawal.
Since abrupt cessation can cause severe complications, especially with substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines, or opioids, detox is conducted under medical supervision in inpatient or outpatient settings. Medical staff can administer medications to ease symptoms and seizures, stabilize vital signs, and reduce cravings. The length of detox depends on the substance used and duration of use, the presence of co-occurring disorders, and the participant’s physical condition.
Although detox addresses the physical dependence on substances, it doesn’t treat the underlying behavioral or psychological aspects of addiction. For this reason, detox is regarded as a preparatory step rather than a standalone solution.
After detox, participants in Missouri should transition into ongoing treatment, such as residential or outpatient care. They can receive counseling, behavioral therapy, and support for relapse prevention. A successful detox lays the foundation for long-term recovery by helping individuals begin the healing process in a medically safe and supportive environment.
