As a person who became dependent on medication for chronic pain for many years, I decided it was time to be out from under them. I hadn't worked with anyone on this before, so I was pretty intimidated. No reason! These people treat everyone with respect and decency, without judgement. Not to mention they were able to help me that very day, and helped me to feel so much better immediately! Just a great asset to those of us who are in similar situations, and I would recommend them to anyone trying to rid themselves of the ever growing gorilla on their backs, like me. If they can help me, of all people, they can help you too! Don't wait any longer, go get the life you deserve without the substance/(s) that you think make life easier! Full five star rating! Thank you CMS!

I cannot say enough how fabulous the team working one evening were when I showed up with my son. He was in seriously rough shape very, didn't make it past the front door. Emt was called to get him to the hospital.
The staff were truly amazing from how they treated my son in kindness, communicating with firm but soft tones. Tim went above and beyond to personally connect with my son as much as he could under the circumstances. He truly cared for his well-being. Tim negotiated for my son to be able to have a cigarette and calm down before he would let EMT help him. My son will be admitting it soon. If this is the level of care I can expect, I am deeply hopeful that my son will find his reason to get the help he needs.
Thank you, Team. thank you, Tim.
Amazing experience! I have just completed family week, visiting a family member and learning so much. I can not say enough great things about the staff or the program. We had a hiccup during our visit with our family member in treatment. It was taken care of in a timely, caring, fully supportive manner. I went for my family member, and I left learning about myself. I highly recommend that if you have a loved one or struggling yourself to consider Rimrock Foundation, my greatest thanks is to Polly for an amazing family program, Traci front desk for truly caring. And Melissa for going above and beyond for our family.
Thank you, is just not enough.

I'm now 40 and came to this place back in 1999. I hated being there but to be fair didn't have much to complain about. Bt time is been there 6ish months I didn't want to leave. I learn so much being there that I'm still grateful to this day. I earned freedom to walk the grounds unsupervised with permission as well as helping give tours to potential clients. I rode horses often did cattle branding of calves of course and did artificial insemination. I did small engines and wood working along with horticulture which were all a blast. There was a lot that happened in the dorms with the girls but what do you expect when you have so many girls with sick am array of issues. A huge part of getting something from these programs is if you want to. If your ready to get better. The staff members were all fabulous I can't think of anyone who I didn't like. I always felt genuine concern from them. I was even given the privilege to go off campus 1x a week to do gymnastics. I still to this day have small decorated box given to me as a gift upon leaving from a staff member named Marilyn. When you opened it it has a tiny box with a small now that says it was filled with her love. I'm not sure what has happened but, this place turned my life around and who know where it be today without it. So Thank you so so so much. Sorry for the delayed post lol.

YBGR was lowkey really nice, I loved it there. The food isn’t top tier but it’s a pretty good treatment place in my opinion. Sometimes there’s some stupid and scary stuff that will happen like fights, but it is to be expected in treatment. But I liked it and I felt it was useful in the long run. I struggled with some staff but I really loved my staff in my lodge. Also, you will get consequences/accountability's for not following the rules, but I think it’s a good thing set in place to hold people accountable. (I’ve gotten a bit of a fair share of consequences so it’s from experience). The place really helped my confidence and mental health without making me a med zombie. They have a Chemical Dependency program and AA to try to help kids who struggle with substance abuse issues and they have very kind counselors with CD. Cheryl was my CD counselor and I felt like she listened to me. Also thankyou to my PM Emily and my favorite day staff Marcos and overnight Zach! They did a lot for me then they might’ve realized. Honest, treatment only works if your kid wants to work it. You can fight it and be miserable, or you can try to participate. And if you do, you’ll likely get somewhere. Please don’t blame the staff and foundation for the outcome, treatment can only work if you have the desire to get better. I was in Shumaker lodge!! 24-25

Dr Bakko I was referred to for administering multiple tests. As part of this he interviewed me and I am very poor at that. He helped keep me focused and many times had to patiently go back to probe deeper to clarify and really understand what I was saying. Because of my emotions, it’s like a freight train driving through his office. He’s gifted.
The tests were administered in a very private, proffessional, clean, and quiet area. He is very organized and proffessional.
He reviewed my answers and again made it very comfortable and open to discuss why I answered the way I did. He asked many different questions to understand my concerns. He was very patient and caring to make sure he understood my answers.

Unequal Treatment of Religious Beliefs. An additional issue that came to light was the Crisis Center's apparent bias towards certain religious beliefs. While the facility allowed Christian crosses to be displayed openly, it reportedly refused to accommodate a pagan high priestess's request to wear her Mjolnir (Thor's hammer) necklace From The director herself Marcia, denying her the right to freely express her religious identity. This differential treatment of religious practices is not only a violation of the principle of equal rights, but it also signals a concerning lack of cultural sensitivity and understanding within the center's leadership. All individuals, regardless of their spiritual beliefs, should be afforded the same level of respect and the opportunity to practice their faith without discrimination.Unprofessional Conduct and Concerning Rumors. Beyond the specific incidents outlined above, the Crisis Center was also criticized for a general lack of professionalism among its staff. Clients reported encountering rude and dismissive behavior, as well as a pervasive attitude of indifference towards the needs and concerns of those seeking assistance. Furthermore, the facility had been the subject of concerning rumors within the Billings community long before my own experience there. Individuals I spoke with warned me about the mistreatment of clients, the staff's assumption that all service users were "drug addicts," and the overall poor reputation of the Crisis Center. These pre-existing concerns only served to further undermine the public's trust in the center's ability to provide adequate and compassionate care.Bright Spots and Recommendations It is important to note that not all aspects of my experience at the Crisis Center were negative. The security personnel, for example, were reported to be understanding and accommodating towards clients' needs, particularly those dealing with PTSD and domestic violence. Additionally, the compassion and understanding shown by a particular morning shift counselor on July 2nd, as well as the empathy displayed by an evening shift nurse from the South, provided some measure of hope that there are individuals within the organization who are committed to upholding the center's stated mission. And as a client I would highly recommend the specified people to further future jobs for understanding the oath that they took. However, these bright spots do not excuse the systemic issues and concerning patterns of behavior that I have outlined in this review. It is clear that the Crisis Center in Billings, Montana is in dire need of a comprehensive overhaul, both in terms of its staff training and the overall organizational culture

Review of the Crisis Center in Billings, Montana (2024-07-02)
Introduction
The Crisis Center in Billings, Montana is an organization that is intended to provide support and resources for individuals facing various crises, including homelessness, domestic violence, mental health issues, and substance abuse. However, based on my recent experience seeking assistance at this facility, I am deeply concerned about the level of care and professionalism demonstrated by the staff.
This review will outline numerous issues I observed during my time at the Crisis Center, including a lack of compassion towards a domestic violence survivor, unprofessional conduct from staff members, inadequate communication about policies, and a fundamental disregard for the unique needs of marginalized clients. While there were some bright spots, such as the understanding shown by security personnel and the compassion of a particular counselor, the overall experience left me feeling deeply troubled about the center's ability to effectively serve the vulnerable populations it claims to support.
Lack of Compassion Towards a Domestic Violence Survivor
One of the most concerning incidents I witnessed during my time at the Crisis Center was the treatment of a fellow client who was a survivor of domestic violence. On the night of July 1st, 2024, this individual arrived at the center seeking refuge and support. However, rather than being met with empathy and understanding, she was subjected to a severe lack of compassion from the night shift nurse.
The nurse's tone was described by other clients as "malicious" and "devoid of any warmth or concern." When the domestic violence survivor attempted to explain her situation and request assistance, the nurse responded with blatant indifference, going so far as to say, "If you don't like it, you can go find someplace else to live." This callous and dismissive attitude towards an individual in such a vulnerable state is entirely unacceptable and a clear violation of the ethical standards expected of healthcare professionals.
Lack of Patience and Effective Communication
Another issue that was repeatedly observed at the Crisis Center was the staff's lack of patience and unwillingness to engage in meaningful communication with clients. In particular, MEG, was noted for her tendency to overwhelm clients with information without allowing them sufficient time to process and understand what was being said. Many clients reported feeling rushed and frustrated, unable to fully comprehend the details of their cases or the available resources due to MEGs rapid-fire delivery and unwillingness to pause and ensure understanding. This lack of effective communication is a significant barrier to the center's ability to provide comprehensive support and empower clients to make informed decisions about their own care.
Failure to Explain Policies and Procedures
Closely tied to the communication issues, the Crisis Center was also criticized for its failure to adequately explain the rationale behind its policies and procedures to clients. When clients inquired about the reasoning behind certain rules or requirements, they were often met with dismissive responses, such as the aforementioned "if you don't like it, you can go elsewhere" statement This lack of transparency and unwillingness to engage in open dialogue undermines the center's ability to build trust and foster a collaborative environment. Clients deserve to understand the factors that inform the policies they are expected to adhere to, particularly when those policies may have a significant impact on their well-being and access to essential services.

All but two of the TT’s were amazing, and seemed very invested in patient recoveries, My counselor was both empathetic and challenging. And created a safe space for me to be honest with myself and her. I have been to this treatment center three times now. Every time I have gotten a lot out of it, but this last time changed my life. Billings is the 85th most expensive city nationwide for addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $59150. This is lower than the average cost of $62530 for addiction treatment in Montana and comparable to the national average cost for drug rehab of $57,193.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Billings vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of medical detox, inpatient rehab, outpatient rehab, and medication assisted treatment. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below. There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Billings. Most rehab treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Billings that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here's the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment near Billings.
Blue Cross Blue Shield is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Billings, with 8 treatment centers in the city accepting their insurance. Humana is the 2nd most popular with 7 treatment centers accepting it followed by UnitedHealth Group in 3rd accepted by 7 drug rehabs.
Billings has the 27th highest rate of drug use nationwide among nearly 400 cities surveyed. This number reflects the combined use of cocaine, heroin, meth, and marijuana, displayed individually below. The percent shown for each drug represents the number of residents in Yellowstone county that have reported ever using the following drugs, so these numbers should not be interpreted as direct evidence of current drug use in Billings or Yellowstone county as a whole.
In 2023, Billings had the 298th highest number narcotics violations out of 330 cities nationwide, with a total of 68 reported drug-related incidents that year. This includes cases of public intoxication, drug arrests, narcotics found during house calls and traffic stops, and any other drug-related crime.
Keep in mind these numbers are dependent on accurate record keeping and reporting laws by local police and sheriffs, and may not fully reflect all drug related crime in Billings. All values are per 100,000 population.
