I really enjoyed my time at Chrysalis! The staff were amazing and I got a lot out of the program. I made memories of a lifetime and I highly recommend Chrysalis to anyone looking for a place to feel better and work on themself. I had an amazing therapist. Danielle was the best. The teachers were great! I loved the residential staff. I have almost no complaints. I will never forget my time there 🙂 Out of all the treatment centers I attended Chrysalis was by far the best.

Words could never fully describe how amazing Therapist, Amy Durden, and the entire staff and programming at Chrysalis are. Our daughter was there for 9 months throughout 2025, and completed all stages of the program, graduating with the most beautiful Apenglow ceremony a few weeks ago. Throughout her time there, we had weekly family therapy with her therapist, Amy; she had individual and group therapies, and my husband and I had frequent parent therapy sessions with Stacey. Both Amy and Stacey were compassionate, and gave voice and recognition to every hurt, fear and worry. They helped our daughter and our entire family do the work needed to repair relationships and heal from past hurts. Our daughter was closed off, shut down and very angry and anxious when she arrived. When she arrived home last week, she was a completely different woman-joyful, confident, loving, funny, patient, and peaceful. While at Chrysalis she was able to catch up with her schoolwork, even advancing to the next grade level ahead of schedule. Sally, the academic director, saw her strengths and helped her become more confident in her schoolwork and set aside her perfectionist tendencies. The house staff were wonderful at helping her navigate difficult friendships and gave her reminders about setting boundaries and taking space to breathe before reacting. Our daughter's self confidence was completely transformed while there-she went from barely speaking to being a leader in student government, in charge of taking care of the chickens and a baker extraordinare who would make cinnamon rolls and angel food cake to cheer up and encourage the other girls. She was encouraged to take risks, learn new things, and loved the weekly adventure therapies, learned to ski, hike, rock climb, and camp out while viewing breathtaking scenery in Montana. House staff taught her how to crochet and she made our son a 3 ft crocheted dinosaur for him while there. Amy Durden quickly became an angel in our lives, giving us hope and supporting us in our family healing. Our daughter has had many therapists over the past 10 years since we adopted her, and no one has connected better to our daughter and helped her more. The coping and communication skills Amy Durden taught Esther are ones she will carry with her throughout her entire life. Nina, the admissions and administrative staff, was a kind, understanding and welcoming light when we first reached out to Chrysalis, and her patience and help navigating insurance was a blessing. We will forever thank God for Amy Durden and Chrysalis. If you are searching for a place where your daughter can find healing and hope, while your family is also supported, please consider Chrysalis.

Honestly I hated a lot about my time at Chrysalis, but I am a better, healthier, and happier person for it. Even now, the people I met there (teachers, students, staff, and especially my therapist) are some of the most understanding and supportive people I know. They took the time to understand why I was acting a certain way and to push me to become better. Also I learnt to snowboard at Chrysalis, something that still brings me a lot of joy. If you’re there now, best of luck, you’ll be glad for it later in life.

Troy, Montana is home to Turning Winds, a residential treatment facility for adolescents aged 13 to 18 with mental health and drug abuse issues. Surrounded by magnificent mountains and an abundance of natural beauty, this facility is situated close to the banks of the South Fork Yaak River. A psychiatrist, certified teachers, and licensed clinician
Deciding to send our son to a residential therapeutic program was one of the most difficult decisions we have ever made, but sending him to Turning Winds ended up one of the best things we have ever done. Turning Winds was truly transformative for our son and us, and I highly recommend it to other families who have children who are struggling. Our son, and our family, have gone from crisis and hopelessness to a sense of hope and calm, and we can now openly discuss problems and feelings and we have tools to overcome any obstacles that arise. We decided to “swing for the fences” to help our son, and we are so glad we did! It hasn’t just been a home run - it has been a grand slam. Our son and our entire family are so much better off than we could have dared to hope! Our son has suffered from extreme anxiety, ADHD, and depression his entire life. He had low self-esteem and struggled with a sense of failure. He often would prefer to fail because he didn’t try than to try and find out he couldn’t actually succeed. In high school, he went from all A’s as a freshman to failing every class because he didn’t do any of the work as a junior. He had extreme oppositional defiance disorder and had conflict with school administrators weekly. He skipped school frequently, and when he did attend classes, he didn’t participate or do any of the assignments. He was lying and disrespectful at home, and he turned to alcohol and marijuana to help soothe himself. It felt like he had given up on himself - he wanted to drop out of high school and was heading for a life of crime and alcohol and drug abuse. We were walking on eggshells all the time, afraid to upset him while feeling powerless to help him. Finally, he ran away from home, leading us to decide that we were no longer able to help him and we needed help. Turning Winds was fantastic and helped our son find hope for a positive future. All of the staff from residential advisors to nurses, therapists, and administrative leaders care deeply about helping both kids and families. They create a supportive structure that holds kids accountable and helps them to reset when they make mistakes. The group and individual therapy sessions, combined with the all-encompassing accountability and behavior modification activities, helped our son gain insight into himself and his behaviors and learn to make better decisions. They also helped him learn to communicate his feelings and concerns in a positive and productive manner. The academic staff helped him catch up on the work he had missed and helped him realize that he can be a good student if he only tries! The staff communicated regularly with us so we felt like we always knew what was going on with our son. One pleasant surprise was the focus on helping us to become better parents, and to realize that our home situation needed to change so that our son could come home and continue to thrive. The family therapy sessions and the Parent Workshop were deeply impactful, and my wife and I learned to look at how we had parented in the past and to begin to change to how we will parent in the future. If you feel overwhelmed and hopeless about helping your struggling child, we suggest that you also swing for the fences and enroll your child at Turning Winds!

Our son was struggling with some addiction issues in the fall of 2024. We sent him to a wilderness program, but once completed we knew he wasn't ready to come home. We did a ton of research and interviewed numerous therapeutic boarding schools and made the decision to have him go to Turning Winds. The decision wasn't made lightly, and we honestly weren't sure what to expect. We read all of the online reviews, and to be honest were concerned about whether he would receive the treatment he needed. And it took a while, but TWI was able to properly diagnose his issues and get him on the road to recovery. The staff is incredibly supportive, and we were treated like family. It wasn't easy for our son or us in so many ways- from the distance apart, to the tough therapy sessions we had going through difficult topics, to the cost. But we are so thankful for the people there who poured into him, and now he has moved on to a young adult transition program. We've seen a marked change in his life, and much of that is because he's learned about what has caused his problems, but more importantly how he can work through them. We couldn't fix him- we had tried everything (years of therapy, in-patient hospital stays etc.) before he went to the wilderness program. We didn't expect perfection but just seeing him begin to thrive as he's begun his transition program has been a huge blessing in our lives. And we're thankful to Turning Winds for helping our family. Life isn't easy, and when you see your own child struggling it's hard to know where to turn. We're thankful that we ran across Turning Winds, and we're thankful for how they helped turn our family around. We don't know what the future holds for our son, but we're thankful that TWI has at least given him a chance to succeed and learn more about his problems and given him the tools to manage them. I would encourage you to give Turning Winds a call and talk with them. It could help keep your family together.

I have been off of pain meds for 12 yrs now. I have never even been tempted to go back to them. It was killing my family and myself. It been easy for me to do what needs to be done when going to a clinic!! The place I was at for 10 yrs couldn’t keep counselors due to pay, insurance and they’d find something better, I had a lot of different counselors because of that, but I never faltered. I did what I was suppose to do. The people at this clinic are absolutely wonderful! They hard friendly, honest, and they truly care! I have gotten attached to all of them. They felt like home for me, I going to have a hard time leaving them due to moving very soon!! I’m m already sad about it. When you walk through those doors, you need to have your mind made up that you’re ready for their help. They’ll be there every step of the way. Just be honest and do what you’re supposed to do to do. The most amazing people work here. There isn’t one bad thing I can even see with this place. It’s very easy. Go in with the mindset of it being the first day of your new life. These amazing people will help you through it all, just be honest and go by the rules. I’m truly going to miss every person I have dealt with here, especially my counselor and the young lady who did the front desk then became a counselor!!! I love them all! You won’t regret going to this clinic!!❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰

This is super long but please read it! If it helps one person it's well worth it. I have been a patient at Community Medical Services since 2013. The staff has always done everything they can to help myself and others in the most professional and empathetic manor possible. This facility is intended to help those who have substance abuse problems, transition to medically supervised medications that simulate street drugs in a way where you don't have to worry about overdose, poisoning and death. They utilize the latest substance abuse alternative medicines, allowing you to function on a day-to-day basis without wondering how you're going to make it/score that day. As well as, individualized personal counseling on a regular basis to help you with the problems and thinking that caused most of us to use drugs initially. They implement this process with extremely well trained Substance Abuse Doctors, as well as, certified counselors and staff that are with you for every step of the sobriety journey. Teaching you the basic tools to stabilize your life, so you can succeed, rather than end up divorced, in prison or on the streets. I honestly can't say enough about how much they've helped me over the past 13 years. I am so grateful for everyone in that building; from the front desk staff, all the way to the individuals in other departments, all who come together as a unified organization to give people in need a easily obtainable alternative to drug abuse. I walked in needing help, and they provided aid for me on my road to recovery. Eventually, giving me all the necessary tools to navigate life and make it's a life worth living. Where I once was lost with no way out, I now have own a business for over 10 years and raised a child who has never seen me intoxicated on drugs. I pray this reaches someone and you walk in those doors and get help.

Ok... Let's start with the obvious and the easiest way to my heart .. the kitchen and the chefs... Yes I said chefs. The food here was the type that if you saw it on a menu at a restaurant you would think you couldn't afford it... It was literally that good. And the kitchen staff were an absolute joy. Second... My treatment team... Dr. Sloan and therapist Katy.... I honestly cannot say enough about them. The facility is not funded nor designed for long term care... They not only understood my need for further care, they also advocated for a longer stay with my insurance as well as led me to pathlights program for further care in a php program in San Antonio. They went out of their way to facilitate and insure my transfer, acceptance and travel to the facility. I am now five weeks into my php and, although hard at times, I am finding the proper tools to deal with my PTSD and grief that logan health helped begin. I will never be able to thank my team enough. As well as nurses like Stefan and others I can't remember their names. I would be remiss not to mention Kelsi... The logan health superhero. What she did for me on her own time and of her own free will and obvious compassion, went so far above and beyond her job description that it's difficult to convey with mere words. For a man with no reason to live when I entered the facility.... I am beginning to see some light at the end of a very dark tunnel and I have logan health and my team and wonderful staff to thank for every bit of it. I hope they will read this and understand the true scope of impact they had on my road to recovery. God bless you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!

In a point in my life where I was planning to end my life, my primary provider calmly but firmly said I needed to check into an inpatient facility. I was taken to Logan Behavioral Health. From the moment I walked in every staff member was truly kind and caring. Very quickly the Dr that was assigned to me diagnosed me with PTSD. Most of my previous prescriptions were not made for PTSD. By the time I was discharged, I was stable and had tools to help me cope with the long process that I'm facing. From the Dr to the nurses to the pharmacist to MHS to HUC to the cooks and housekeeping, I can't express enough how much support and kindness they provided. It's truly an amazing facility focused on each patient. The food was excellent and the facility was always clean. Thank you all for what you do.

Recovery Centers of Montana I could list so many things I disliked about treatment while I was going through it. Truthfully, every time I came back, I thought I hated it a little more. Looking back now, I realize that what I really hated was being forced to face myself, my choices, and the work that recovery requires. The truth is, Recovery Centers of Montana saved my life. They changed my life in ways I never thought were possible. They taught me how to love myself, how to recognize my worth, and how to believe that I deserved a better life. Most importantly, they taught me empathy, forgiveness, compassion, and the importance of never giving up. For so many years, I fought against myself. Recovery taught me that my life matters. I matter. That realization changed everything. My eyes have never been more open than they are today. I have never experienced the kind of peace that I have now. Not once in my life. Recovery isn't easy, and it doesn't end when treatment ends. It is a lifelong commitment and a fight that continues every day. But it is a fight worth fighting. No matter how many times I fell, every time I called, the staff at Recovery Centers of Montana welcomed me back with open arms. They never gave up on me. They never looked at me differently. They continued to believe in me, even during times when I struggled to believe in myself. Today, my life is forever changed because of Recovery Centers of Montana and the grace of the Lord above. If you're struggling right now, please don't give up. No matter how defeated you feel, don't lay your life down. Keep fighting. Keep showing up. Keep believing that change is possible. I am living proof that recovery can happen. If I can come out on the other side, so can you. You've got this.

When I was 24, my addiction to prescription medication had spun wildly out of control. So much so that I crashed my step fathers car I was borrowing into a lake and don’t remember a single bit of it. The next day, sitting in a jail cell, I told myself I had had enough. I have a friend that had gone to WTC so I called them first without even trying anywhere else and immediately knew this was the place for me. WTC and the counselors/staff that work there without a doubt saved my life. This place is fantastic, but don’t be fooled. If you go here, expect to work. It’s not sit around and watch tv rehab, you’re expected to do certain things and act certain ways. It sounds hard I know, but I promise you if you’re serious about getting help for yourself, even if you’re being forced by your parents to do this, please give WTC a chance. The work pays off 10 fold.

I attended WTC 3 years and 5 months ago, my first time trying out the sobriety aspect. This place saved my life and truly push me to change into the better person I am now. If I could comment on other people’s 1 star reviews. I would say. It sounds like those people were not willing to get sober. Making up excuses to make it sound like it wasn’t everything that it was cut out to be. Especially co dependent parents who comment saying not to send there parents to a place that will eventually help their kids out in the long run. All in all if you want to change your life. Go here, if you don’t. Then you truly haven’t hit your bottom in life. I work in recovery now. Due to this program, my life has changed for the better and I have everything I could ever want to keep me happy in this life.
