The staff are very polite and understanding around my addiction to alcohol. In particular my case manager Scott quickly identified my direction for treatment in conjunction with his team. The therapy, group and individual really got to the bottom of what made me abuse substances. I learned so much about myself. I was given tools that will help me navigate in the real world. Not just platitudes but real strategies. The facility is fabulous. I’ve taken yoga classes. I’ve had acupuncture. I returned to working out in the great gym they have. There’s every kind of art supplies you could ask for. Together with healthy meals and unlimited snacks it’s the total package. I haven’t mentioned the community. You meet people who are going through the same things you are . I made friends. If life isn’t what you want it to be because of substance abuse and you want to do a restart please walk in their door. The only part about therapist counselor ladies there misunderstanding you but I send letter to social worker at Maria about the Providence train station that I had complained with store. But I am not worry I just remind social worker Maria for my safety but in case there in danger some time I got meet social worker at Maria Torres to send complain report at human resources officer reports. For honestly I love those people that work there in behavioral health I gave a five stars to being kindness with me because there know I am so kindness. God bless Michael Clinton 1 year ago I have had the honor of being accepted into the program, the class and meeting are well put together, they do have the skills you need to be successful in your recovery, you just need to be completely focused on your recovery and dedicate yourself to that, because if you don't the program will not work. I sit back and watch women complain and iI see them same women not fully applying themself to the program, if you want something to work you have to read and do what the instructions say or you're not going to get it right, and you tend to blame the program. 1st I believe the consistent use of the cell phones are a major distraction to our recovery while we are here, there are unit phones that can be used. Also, the rules need to be enforced more and taken serious by the clients, the disrespect between the clients are childish in this moment, so staff are in high stress due to the disrespect they receive by the clients, please don't believe all the wrong things you here about this program. Behavioral Health Centers have come under the jurisdiction and ownership of large hospital groups, Thrive, Newport BH, and CCA in the North are still NOT operated by large corporate Hospital Groups and all the conflicts of interest that may entail. Thrive has programs that are unique too. There's the Briggs School whose aim is to help kids going through rough patches get back on track and back to the public schools as soon as they can. There's the Hillsgrove Clubhouse that is part of the world-wide Clubhouse International movement. While Massachusetts has around 30 Clubhouses there with their population of 7.2 million. Little Rhody has just one Clubhouse for a million Rhode Islanders, and it's Thrive that makes sure that we have one. Accredited Clubhouses like Hillsgrove will have their people 4x as likely to be employed and in the competitive public job market than consumers not receiving that help. Recovery DOES Happen. (We need more Clubhouses in RI!) Thrive has a prison diversion program originally designed for veterans who had an 80% recidivism (return to prison) rate. Thrive's program has flipped that number upside down saving the State large sums of money and helping vets live dignified lives. Thrive has expanded this program successfully knowing that prison is likely the last place on earth for a person suffering from anxiety or deep depression or psychosis "to get better". Recovery DOES happen! Thrive has a unique program designed around, and for young adults called "Healthy Transitions." Thrive is also successfully partnered with the Warwick Police Department to provide invaluable technical help for officers in the field, who may've had great police training, but not extensive training in Behavioral Health. And of course Thrive has the usual programs like psychiatric prescribers, case management services, homeless outreach, therapy groups, addiction treatment services, group homes, and supervised housing.
