I’m leaving this review based on my experience as the mother of this man’s children. While I appreciate that Aspell Recovery has helped him stop using drugs, the support seems to stop there. I have reached out multiple times asking for guidance, mentorship, or any kind of encouragement toward him becoming an active parent to his kids. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. He still shows no involvement, no effort, and no willingness to step into his responsibilities as a father. What concerned me even more is that when I called to speak with someone about this, the staff member who answered the phone went back and told him that I had called. This felt extremely unprofessional and made it clear that communication is not handled with care or boundaries. Recovery is not just about sobriety — it’s also about accountability, responsibility, and learning to participate in life again. From what I have experienced, Aspell has not helped him in those areas at all. They may help people detox, but they have not encouraged or supported him in becoming a better parent or a stable part of his children’s lives. I hope they improve the way they support families, communicate, and help clients grow beyond just getting clean.

This place is an infringement on patient rights. They dehumanize the people who are there to get help. Making people wear a hula hoop for 24 hours if the staff hears them talking about an issue they have encountered. The patients have to ask to rest or eat or use the bathroom. Making them stay up from 5am to 10pm without access to their rooms. This place is not for healing it’s a mental prison.

If your wanting to be part of Aspell Recovery then I suggest you watch out for a man named Zack Sweetman. His last name doesn't match up to him one bit. He recently kicked my husband out of his 3/4 house for being 4 minutes past his curfew. He told him he was going to put him on behavioral contract until he overheard my husband voice his opinion to another client that it was a bunch of non-sense BS. From what I've seen and heard, it sounds like Zack here needs to be put on behavioral contract and grow up a bit. My husband has been compliant and drug free since February. He works for a living and we have two boys to take care of. Since he got kicked out of Aspell housing over this nonsense, he was arrested for VOP (he was court ordered to live in Aspell housing). He is now sitting in jail over it and his release is still TBD.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When your day-to-day life is taken over by drug use, this is known as substance use disorder. If you abruptly stop using your drug of choice, you experience withdrawal symptoms. To overcome this cycle, professional drug rehab in Tennessee is usually needed.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
