I had the most wonderful experience at virtue the staff was absolutely amazing been to several other treatment facilities non-master quality that I received here at virtue Killeen there was amazing woman there by the name of Miss Naomi BHT supervisor she was absolutely on point this has been my greatest experience and they help me to further my recovery I'm going to another facility because. of the way that they took care of me and they're looking out for me. I was stunned after seeing a 1 star review obviously this person hasn't been a resident at virtue due to the misleading review she posted. I've been going here for about 3 weeks now (I'm on the methadone program btw) and this place is really great, I'm honestly so glad I found this place! I have been on opiates for about 7 years now, I started out doing heroin and about 3 years ago I switched to doing fentanyl, which I had to do every single day because the withdrawals were unbearable, which has been absolute hell. In the past 7 years I have been to rehab probably over 20 times and every single time I would do really well when I was in the rehab (I would be very positive, completely ready to get sober, and very optimistic about my future) but once that 30 days was up and I was forced to leave and basically just thrown back out into the real world I would always eventually relapse (sometimes very quickly). And I realized the reason why that would happen was because its very easy to stay sober in rehab, but the rehabs can't keep you sober once you leave, that's really just up to you, and that's when the real hard work starts. Since I started using the longest I have ever been able to stay sober has been 6 months, and the only reason why I got that long was because I went to rehab for 30 days, then the rehab's outpatient program for another month, and then I went straight to sober living. And all of that was VERY expensive (even with health insurance), and I still ended up relapsing because I wasn't truly ready to get sober (I was just doing it for other people). But rehab just isn't an option for me anymore (I lost my health insurance), so that's why I decided to give methadone a try this time, and I am so glad that I did! Because I realized that really I don't need rehab to get sober, because I already know everything they're gonna tell me in there, so now I'm just skipping that expensive little bubble that rehab is (where it just gives you false hope and makes you think that being sober is easy), and instead start the whole process out in the real world. Also when talking to the doctor here she helped me realize that this is a way better method of getting sober because I've been told before that it takes 6 months-2 years for your brain chemistry to get back to normal once you get sober, and that's why the doctor here suggests you to stay on the methadone for at least 1 year, because methadone also helps with the drug cravings, so staying on it while your brain chemistry is still recovering gives you a good safety net and some extra help when you are gonna need it the most. Another thing I really like about this place is they drug test you once a month but if you fail the drug test, and they see that you've gotten high, they won't kick you off the program (but passing the drug test/staying sober does get you benefits, because you will start getting take home doses, which means you don't have to come to the clinic every day anymore, so now you have incentive to stay sober). But I really like that they won't just kick you off the program because I know better than anyone that relapse is sometimes just part of the process, and most addicts will usually relapse for their first few attempts at getting sober, so it is so nice that they realize this and will still give another chance. In the past I tried Suboxone maintenance and even though it was helping me I ended up relapsing, so when I went back the next month and I failed their drug test, they kicked me off the program, so of course I went right back to using heroin all the time. It's really hard to get sober, so if you work with addicts you need to be willing to give them another chance if they mess up, because even though they relapsed at least they're wanting to give sobriety another try. Which is better than them just giving up on sobriety (which they might do if you just punish them for messing up, I know I have before). Not too long ago I thought I would never be able to get sober, but now I am sober and feeling better than I have felt in years! Thank you so much MAT Texas!! You have given me this opportunity, I wouldn't even be able to turn my life around without being on the methadone program!

I rediscovered my self here. I love recovery unplugged. Coming in off the streets with no home and no money but lucky enough to have health insurance I came through not knowing what to expect. They say home is where the heart is and I'm having growing pains after my 9 week stay. I love all the people i met from residential and php there were Many coming in and many moving forward. Each person inspired me in many ways. I was always learning something. it was a true blessing to have the ability to learn and grow in an environment that encourages the rediscovery in self authenticity, healthy coping skills, music and art therapy. Personalized trauma and family therapy and groups on addiction and over coming negative self talk. Learning how to forgive self and others. Heal. And heal and more healing in a safe vulnerable environment. The the community is full of all forms of love residents, alumni and staff all show up as one in creating this magical environment and experience. Shout out to the whole nursing staff at Alb- road. Thankyou Liliana- Lili) for asking me the tough questions, forcing my growth through gentle guidance and listening to me ramble. I love you. I love all of you, my love is real. Chloe in case management thankyou for listening to me and making magic happen you went above and beyond and made me feel like you've been helping people for years. The light worker you are. Thankyou for your effort. Brent, I love you bro I never once ever disliked your morning discussions in fact I looked forward to them every day. One of the highlights of my treatment. Pls never forget the light worker you are. Tracy your empathy is worth mentioning because it takes a very strong person to feel as much as you, guide, shape, and mold as you do, And be as vulnerable as you are. You work within the light never forget the light that you are. Tina, lulu and shawntil thankyou for the fun groups. Last but not least. Douglas my guide, my teacher, my brother I love you man. You surpassed everything I wanted and needed you to be .. we really went to work you and I, and I needed it.. you define the light, a mentor, a friend.. you are someone I will always look up too and think fondly of for the rest of my life.. Thankyou for being my therapist. It had to be Lili and then it had to be you... I appreciate everything you both gave because without being able to talk about certain things I wouldn't have come to the realization or understanding of past trauma and unhealthy viewpoints and coping mechanisms. And none of this would have happened.. I really appreciate recovery unplugged if you can't tell and this is by far the longest review or message or anything I've ever typed on my phone sober so love, peace, and blessings to all who read.

My experience with Basepoint Forney: It was honestly amazing and incredibly well. I couldn’t have wished for a better PHP honestly. This place does wonder if you let it. You wont get any out of this program if you do not but the effort they’re giving you. Which i knew while i was in this program but i didn’t fully process until after i left. You get out what you put in. I was off and on with this program for a year. The staff is incredible . Shout out to Ms.Liz , Mr Dylan (how ever you spell it), Sid , Brad (which isn’t unfortunately there), Miss Brenda, Ms. Patrice. Each one of these staff are super helpful and supportive, they fully understand you and listen to you. I was always so happy to talk to them everyday. Also the front desk lady, She was always so happy to see me every morning when i walked in , always complimented me . It made my day by just taking to her. And lets not get started with the therapists. I love each one of them , Mrs. Avery, Ms. Courtney, Ms. Ginna, and more. All these people saved my life multiple times. Especially Mrs. Avery , My therapist almost the whole time. I am so grateful that i met her. She was the first person i was truly honest. She was the first person that made me want to continue to live. She was my best friend. We went through the same kind of stuff , which we could really relate to each other. She truly cared about me. Ive been to so many places where it felt like the people there were just working there for. the money. But there they worked there because they truly wanted to help people and want to see people get better, have a bright future. I haven’t talked to Mrs. Avery since ive discharged back in March. But i wish i could talk to her for one more minute. She helped me make some truly good progress. She helped me with my negative mindset. I remember when i first got there last year i was shy so i went to sit in the corner , when she released i was feeling anxious , she went to sit with me. I love her so much therapeutically and i will always. Courntey, I could talk to her about anything with no judgement what so ever , whenever i was struggling she would come to talk to me here my rant. Shes very nonjudgmental, which all the therapist are. Ginna , even though i didn't get to know her much, she really got me when i did talked to her . Shes very funny , i would joke around with her. She understood why i did the things i did. Each one of these staff i have mention helped me with recovery. I would leave to go to a higher level of care and when i come back it felt like all the staff understood why i felt like i needed to do what i did. The space at basepoint felt very comfortable, i did not feel uncomfortable at all. I wish i had put the full effort when i was there. Which always slips my mind everyday. I cannot change the past so ill just have to accept it and put in the effort in the places i go to. Any other staff i did not mention, They were also super understanding and helpful. If you're going there or are going to i suggest to be honest and trust them, from someone that didn't think they could be helped , this place helped me realize thats not the truth and theres hope in the future. I thank God for this place everyday and i will forever. I grew mentally and physically here. This place brought the true Grace out , which i thought i would never see again . The process might be hard but it will all be worth it at the end. Telling the truth might be hard to say but in the future you’ll thank yourself you did. I love this place and would recommend this place to any struggling teen with mental health. I love all the staff here therapeutically. Especially Mrs.Avery (knee slapper).

Individuals can call the facility to schedule an appointm | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I really love this clinic and the staff. I've been going here for about 4 years now and having access to this medication literally saved my life. I'm very grateful for all the staff, especially my counselor, Tessa. She is AMAZING! She's fairly new but since I became her patient she has gone above and beyond to help me in every way. Compared to my last counselor here, the difference is night and day. You can tell she really cares about her patients. I think this place has improved so so much since I first started coming. I think that has to do with Lorenzo becoming the director. I have seen such an improvement with the staff and everything since he took over.
So if you're serious about wanting to get clean and change your life for the better, I'd highly recommend this clinic!!
Edit: it's a year later and while I still think this clinic is good in a lot of ways, I truly feel like they made a mistake by replacing Lorenzo. The new director is "nice" but he hasn't once introduced himself to me or anyone else that I know of. He's very stand offish and just stays in his office. I feel like he's very corporate, so he's nice in that sense, but I don't feel like he's genuine. I recently transferred to a different clinic because of a situation that happened with him.
Now my counselor before I left was wonderful. Daphne was always checking up on me and helping me with anything I needed help with and I felt her genuine care for her patients.
I hope this company will stop making their counselors do so much paperwork, it literally takes away from the bonding time with their patients. That's one thing I've always disliked about this clinic. Also last year I went thru like 3 or 4 counselors. You know how hard it is to open up to someone over and over again? To have them say to you that they won't be going anywhere then weeks later they're gone? The turnover rate is extremely high for a reason and I really hope corporate starts listening to their employees or treating them better.

I will start this review off by giving some information about myself so you can actually get something out of this review and hopefully it will help someone else get their life back on track.
I travel 46 weeks out of the year, sometimes my company has to fly me home for a day so I can make an appearance at my home clinic to stay compliant, so I have been to Methadone Clinics all across the United States as a Guest Dose Patient. I can honestly say New Season is one of the good ones. The lady who works up front is super nice And has been nothing but helpful to me. I believe it is $15 a day to pay for your methadone and If you want to go the Suboxone Route they also offer that as well ( I dont remember the cost per day but it is slightly higher than the methadone ) they only serve the liquid methadone ( cherry ) IF you are guest dosing there is a $25 charge, but you only have to pay that once a year.
BUT what makes New Season Treatment a good to great clinic in my eyes, is no matter what person you deal with it is always with respect and they seem to actually care about the people they serve . From the Doctor to the Nurse to the Counselors dont have anything bad to say about any of them. I was in quite a predicament at one point in my recovery And I actually was a full time client with New Season and I ended 2 weeks later having to move to Houston And they never treated me differently or made a fuss about the situation just helped me get the transfer to Houston. I would WAY rather have stayed with New Season than my current Home clinic if I'm being %100 honest...
I can also say I went to other clinics in the DFW Area and I had a horrible experience at another clinic in Dallas and New Season is my go to for the Dallas / Fort Worth Area.

For free health care, I don’t know why I complain. Probably because I'm a salty lil Karen who can barely get out of bed and when I do; I'm mad 😂 I've been to several VAs and Shavano typically completes everything I ask for help with, even if it takes forever. And I really like Dr K.
Overall with VA healthcare, or pretty much anything nowdays; being direct and asking for what you need WITH UNLIMITED PATIENCE gets the best results.
***ORIGINAL POST***
I've been seeing my Shavano Park team since October, and I like the location and staff. Dr K is great. Today there was some hub-bub with the fire department and I was forgotten about in the waiting room and ended up having to be there a few extra hours😂 The pros to this was the waiting room was comfortable, the staff was funny and I got to get halfway through my new library book. The only suggestion I would make would be maybe some feng shui (zen water fountain and tranquil pictures perhaps?) and coffee station/healthy snacks for the waiting room.

Medmark Treatment Center is an absolute wonderful place for addiction recovery! All the staff are extremely supportive & very genuinely want every person who walks through their doors to walk out their doors with a positive experience living in your brand new sober life. They have access to so many different places to help with any type of aid one might have such as homelessness, paying bills, anything life throws at you! They help not because it's their job...they very genuinely care about people & they want "their" people to live a sober, happy, positive new life always knowing that they will always be there for you should you wake up one morning & find life has gone south. Once enrolled in the outpatient treatment there, you are assigned a counselor that is available to you for any reason every day with Sundays being the exception! I have found that a lot of people really don't have a very positive attitude towards Methadone treatment, & I believe that it is because they don't understand it & it's role in your recovery. I know when I initially signed up, I didn't know or even realize all the pros of using Methadone would bring me. In fact, I only knew one thing & that was that the Methadone would prevent me from having to endure the torment of going through withdrawals from my body physically needing the heroin. Anyone who has ever been "Dope sick" from heroin will quickly tell you what a living hell it can be, in fact there are some people who have actually lost their lives not from using heroin but from going through withdrawals from not having it. I had attempted many different times to relieve myself from the dangerous drug & the "Drug Life" only to repeatedly fail for one reason or another...most of which was the cravings I would have to do the drug even though I was sick to death of that lifestyle mistake due to looking for something that would numb me & my emotions after being physically & sexually assaulted back in 2012. I learned that the Methadone actually prevents those cravings, which is why Medmark Treatment Center was my saving grace & the reason I successfully after two & a half years was finally comfortable enough to leave from there completing their program successfully & have now been free of "Satan's Drug" for almost 4 years now! (2025) I do not ever want to live that lifestyle ever again, it was a whole nightmare within itself & my life was completely chaotic & stressful during the years that I was in my addiction. Should you or someone you love & care about or even someone you may not know well yet...find them stuck in an addiction PLEASE be kind enough to introduce them to the help that Medmark offers. I, myself...have told numerous people about it some who went & others who didn't...but I physically took seven different addicts there & introduced them to recovery through Methadone or Suboxen at Medmark. All seven of them enrolled into the program. After a bit of time, two of them stopped going for reasons of their own...but the other five are living their new lives sober, happy and thriving. You can contact either the primary Medmark Center at the 1-800 number or you may contact the local Medmark Center located on Washington Avenue here in Waco, Texas USA at the local number. Simply Google Medmark Treatment Center near me! I wish each & every one of you the sober life we all deserve & are meant to live. Life is already difficult, more so for some than for others...if you've ever wondered what "Hell" is like... it's like living in this already difficult world, while having an addiction! It's a very deep, dark, lonely, extremely scarry place for anyone to be in, especially alone due to your friends & family abandoning you because they find out you are an addict. Please let them know that you love & care for them & introduce them to Medmark. You will most likely be saving their life. Noone has to go it alone as long as Medmark is here. You can expect to find a non-judgmental staff, who are all on your side to help when & where they are needed. At Medmark "YOU CAN & WILL RECOVER"!

| Rise Recovery’s Charlie Naylor Campus is located in San Antonio, Texas. It’s an addiction and mental health treatment facility that has helped young adults and families overcome drug and alcohol addictions for more than 40 years. Young adults seeking recovery from substance use disorders can take advantage of the clinic’s Youth Recovery | Treatments Programs Payment Options | My daughter attended Rise Inspire Academy for 2½ years and graduated in 2025. We were referred to the program by a close friend who works in the recovery community, and I'm truly grateful for that connection. Rise made a meaningful impact in my daughter’s life. She began her journey to recovery in 2023, and today, she’s the only clean and sober student in her graduating class. That speaks volumes about her commitment — and the support she received.
Throughout her time there, my daughter was offered counseling, coaching, and a safe place to heal and grow. The program isn’t magic, and it’s not easy. But for students who are ready to put in the work, it can work. The staff includes some very kind, devoted individuals who truly care about the kids they serve. For that, I’m thankful.
However, my experience as a parent was mixed. I found communication with the staff to be somewhat lacking. It often felt like they were focused entirely on my child — which is important — but I also felt left out of the loop and that my feedback was not always welcomed or acknowledged. That made things challenging at times.
One concern I want to raise is how my daughter was led to believe she had a chance to work at the school after graduation. She went through the process of creating a recovery plan, submitting a resume, and even had an interview with the director, Evita. But in the end, nothing came of it, with no clear explanation. I can’t help but feel this decision may have been influenced by my own willingness to speak up about certain safety concerns and the need for stronger leadership. That was disappointing, especially after the growth and hard work my daughter had shown.
Despite the challenges, I do strongly recommend Rise Inspire Academy to families with teens struggling with substance abuse. This school offers a life-changing opportunity for young people — but it requires effort, honesty, and a desire to change. For those who are ready, this program can be the turning point.

If it wasn't for this amazing program and facility I wouldn't be here today. It's been almost two years since I first walked through the doors of BRC. I would first and foremost like to say that if it wasn't for the staff for taking genuine interest and concern for my overall being and seeing past my physical appearance that I was struggling with something much deeper than I wouldn't have stayed. I see some negative comments and believe me I had some when I first got to Austin, TX. But, sitting here clean and sober almost 2 years later I will admit that if it wasn't for this knowledge that was given to me by this program, I probably wouldn't be who I am today. I've come to my own realization that your addiction will convince your brain of anything to keep you living in the darkness. It will tell you that you aren't and addict or that because you look different that you aren't an addict. I'm currently still working on underlying problems that led me down the road of addiction and using them to help build my strength to continue this journey of recovery. If it wasn't for BRC I would still be a lost 29-year-old mother of 6 beautiful children and I wouldn't know that a healthy relationship looks like or that firm boundaries with unhealthy people are okay. I walk in a new light thanks to this place and the people that make this program possible. One day my children will also thank them for giving them their mom back! No words can ever express the gratitude that I have for BRC. Please have an open mind when going into this program because I promise it will all be worth it. The program is strict but our addiction are even darker.
