it’s been years since i went here but now im old enough to actually make a review, oceans was my saving grace the put so much care and attention into helping all of us girls in the pod, i sang everyday and they even printed sheet music so all the girls could join in! food wasn’t my favourite but they threw a super bowl party for us and let us have the best time! There is a new doctor at the VA Medical Clinic in Brownwood, and he is amazing! He asked questions and actually listened to my answers. When I asked questions, he answered. He spent time explaining things. I sure hope this is a turning point to upgrade this clinic that has gotten so many bad reviews due to the disrespectful and uncaring attitudes of some of the front line personnel. I actually felt like I was heard and respected. Very good doctor's appointment this year! I am impressed and grateful.

Wonderful place and owners, Richard and Tracy have worked hard to make this a safe place for people looking to turn their life's around. Safe for men and women, food is provided as well as all tinsels to prepare meals. They even have a way to help people get clothes. If not for this place and people like the Kennedy's and so many others who help make this place what it is, there is no telling where I would have ended up. I don’t know how there could be a better place to get serious recovery! I felt like I was hidden in a beautiful and peaceful area, away from all the distractions of everyday life. The team was caring & nurturing, but also held us accountable. They don’t let you get away with any BS, & every ‘crutch’ is taken away; but that’s where the real recovery starts. I think it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I know it was worth every minute, every dollar & every tear.
If you’re not ready to do whatever it takes, you’ll find excuse after excuse & complaint after complaint. But when you’re ready to make serious life changes, Shades of Hope is the best place to go!

In short, Shades opened me up to a world I never knew existed. A world where I wasn’t alone and instead I was surrounded with love, acceptance and patience with lightbulb after lightbulb of new understanding. There was a plan and a path for daily reprieve and I was so grateful. I’ve since been back to several 6 day intensives and if I lived closer I’d do it as regular mental maintenance because life gets hard sometimes.
The leaders are gifted at understanding the root of behavior and trauma to help work through it in a safe way. Love being a part of this lovely group of alumni! Highly recommend if you think you are alone and wake up every morning saying “today is the day I stick to a diet” and by noon you have given up. When “if only my life was ....” is the beginning of most sentences and reasons why you can’t put down your vice, this is the place to find peace. This is the place where hope is restored and permission to set healthy boundaries are given. Give yourself the gift!

I had the most amazing experience of my life! WWR saved my life in many ways. I tackled multiple addictions and took advantage of every service they offer (which there are many!). The counselors and recovery advocates are incredible. While I now have the tools to go back to the real world, I will miss this place in my soul. I would recommend WWR to anyone needing to face addiction or any other mental challenge.

Words could never express my appreciation for the team at La Hacienda. The buildings are older than I expected, but the love and treatment there is state of the art. The time spent there will put you or your love one on the right track to the life you are seeking. The family program is not easy, but plays a huge role in success. The family support during and after is amazing. It is like an extended family reunion of support each week, where joys are celebrated and those experiencing set backs are supported. This place is amazing. The complaints in the reviews worried me. But the moment I arrived I was treated with the upmost care. Only weak people leave a treatment facility like this. This place saved my life and I was treated with dignity and respect throughout. I have my life back and that is what I went there for. Anybody you read on here that has anything bad to say is soft. This place can fix anyone WILLING to be vulnerable. Some adults never got told they couldn't be unicorns when they grew up and it shows.

Warriors Heart in Bandera, TX was the safest spot I could’ve landed when my life was burning down. I came in drowning in booze, broken from childhood abuse, combat PTSD, and straight rage. They gave me the tools to start building something solid out of all that wreckage.
Biggest lesson for me was Ego. I thought I had one, maybe two. Nah, I had a fleet of them! All those past traumas twisting up and firing off as anger. Warriors Heart helped me see it, strip it down, and start putting in the real work.
Most of the staff are real ones, and they show up every day with wisdom, patience, and love.
It wasnt a magic fix. But it’s where the construction starts, new foundations can be started, and for me, that made all the difference. 🙏

I can't express enough how greatful I am to these wonderful people and the huge heart they have. They spend everyday looking out for and taking care of Warriors who are lost and seeking peace and stability in their lives.

Discovery point has changed my life I've been to 22 other rehabs it has been the most influential the staff is amazing the staff Miss birdie, Miss Whitney Brian P. Tim, David, Nae, Emry all the amazing therapist this is not a standard rehab I needed something more it teaches you how to recover as well as live and enter society as a new sober person. I came here for my recovery, and at first I would say that I didnt like it, but that was making excuses for myself. But I stayed and graduated, this place tought me to learn patience and roll with changes that can come up in real life and not have to turn to drugs. Now im a peerlead helping others in the community to see the bright side of things and fight those urges we all get. This is hard thing to do alone, but if u build a community it becomes easier. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
