I've been a greatful patient of Applegate for approx. 8 years now and I can honestly say that they saved my life. They gave me back a freedom I had forgotten existed . The freedom of sobriety. I am amending my review due to consistently better service. They switched me to a different Dr and she has been amazing. Over the last few months they have If you get assigned to Paige as your provider my advice is to ask for someone else. She not only was very rude and condescending from the very beginning but she also lied to me… stating that there is a new “law” that they have to try patients on the suboxone strips before prescribing subutex…. I called my last provider and she assured me that wasn’t true… I knew it was a lie when she said it but when I told her that those strips don’t work for me and I would really rather just stay with the medication that I have been taking for 5 years…. She said “well I’m not losing my license over you”. She also basically called me a bad parent for giving my child CHILDREN melatonin and told me that it messes up the circadian rhythm… which is not a medical fact. She prescribed me TRAZODONE... Yeah I’m sure trazodone (an antidepressant) is so much healthier for you than a naturally produced hormone. To have a health care provider lie to my face and treat me like I’m stupid then to push her own unsubstantiated opinions on me like she is some actual doctor just shows a level of narcissism that I’m not comfortable with my health care provider possessing. If you decide to go to applegate just make sure you don’t let them stick you with Paige. She is not a pleasant person. I called the main office this morning and am having them switch my provider to someone else. Everyone else was amazing. Laura who is one of the program directors was very sweet and so was the lady at the front desk.

Hi 👋 after seeing all the negative reviews.. I would like to share my experience as a patient myself in this facility. I suffered from depression and alcohol abuse. I was placed in this facility by the emergency room I was at. I did not pick this place as my first choice. Who was I to be picky anyway. I needed help. When I first arrived I was very sick and going through withdrawals. I was a bit terrified because it was a scary place to be in considering you’re in there with other addicts and we all looked like sh** to say the least. But after awhile I got use to it and came to realize they were human just like myself and are actually good people who just were in this same cycle of abuse I was in. I felt like I was going to die in there the first few days because I was so sick from my withdrawals and getting up everyday for checks, meds, meeting with psychologist, counselor, groups, etc was very difficult for me. But I was so thankful for what seemed like help for the first time in my life I wasn’t going to give up. The staff was nice and friendly. There is A LOT going on in there so I can see how a need or two may not be met. You have to realize you’re not dealing with sane individuals in here. You’re dealing with lost souls. That is not easy work. The bathrooms are dungeon like lol but it got the job done. The food was excellent. They had it going on with the meals and snacks. lol they offered cigs and phone calls. We got to go outside and be social. They have a picnic area and a basketball court. They had a living area for movies. Just to name a few. It really wasn’t that bad. Yes I did get put on medication and was doped up but I needed it at that time. Coming off anything causes a lot of anxiety and depression. When I got out I got to talk to my doctor and Psychiatrist about meds and we changed what was needed. While I was there they talked to me about options for long term treatment. But at the time I didn’t want to do a long term treatment center. So they asked different questions and made sure I had somewhere to go when I left. Which was home for me. I lived by myself so they set me up for outpatient care and I had a whole team of people working for me and would come to my house. I was really grateful for the experience. It was eye opening for me. I enjoyed the group therapy classes. It was a great start for my recovery. Although, I ended up relapsing again and again. This place really helped me. Don’t except your loved ones to come out of here completely brand new. Becoming sober is a long road to recovery. It may take several rehabs and several relapses. It’s all about the will power and mindset. And most definitely the support of professionals. That’s why relying on family alone does not work. We have to let the professionals do their job. Again, I’m thankful for my experience here and I’m almost 2 years sober now. I hope this message finds you well. I do not mean to push any buttons or insult anyone. I’m just sharing my own personal experience. God bless anyone fighting addiction and families who are affected as well. May God be with us all. 🙏

I entered CADA March 30, 2017, I was completely out of hope, and full of despair, the only solution I thought I had was suicide. My drinking, and drug use took me to a place of desperation. I could not stay sober, but I could not quit using. I went 20 plus years of suffering. The only coping mechanism I had, for every emotion, was to change the was I felt with drugs, and alcohol. When I was sad, I used, when I was happy, I used. My life revolved around when I would get my next bottle, or find my next high. I lied, cheated, and stole, whatever it took to get my drug of choice. I destroyed my family, and friends. I was like a hurricane in people I loved lives. I saw only darkness. In CADA, I learned tools, coping mechanisms, of how to deal with life, on life's terms, without alcohol, and drugs. I gained a new sense of self worth. I started to recover from a disease that had already taken so many I loved, including my mother. CADA took another chance on me 6 months into my recovery. I was hired as part of the support staff. I continued to learn and grow, in the place that saved my life. Three, and half years later, I am now part of the Peer Support Team, giving back, what was given to me. One of my favorite quotes is, "It is always darkest before the dawn." CADA gave me my dawn.

CADA offers a treatment solution for almost anyone! It is affordable and very comprehensive in its therapy. My favorite programs at CADA are the adolescent treatment facility, which includes a full time teacher, and the Family program. Women who are pregnant, or have children are welcomed in the family hall. Their children attend public school. Infants and toddlers are cared for while the ladies participate in their groups or counseling sessions. CADA has been a LIFESAVER for hundreds of recovering people!

I arrived at the mission on November 30, 2018 broken and lost, an addict with no sense of direction and 17 years of self medicating. I joined the one year program then graduated to the internship program for another year. Once I completed my internship I became a staff member which lead to another four years. What the mission gave I could never repay. I found christ and letting him into my life as been the best and most rewarding experience. I now have a relationship with christ and first put God first in every decision I make. Now God is restoring family back into my life, Thanks to all the donor that makes it possible to help people in need. I will always be so grateful for what the mission has done for me . The mission has gave me HOPE again Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you , says the Lord . They are plans for good and not disaster , to give you a future and a hope... The mission will always hold dear to my heart . The mission and letting God into my life as given me life again And thanks to all the stuff that help in the process of 6 years of being at the mission Love all of yall .

I would like to take a moment to share my gratitude and appreciation for Lacy and the incredible work she did with my daughter during her time at Sundown Ranch. From the very beginning, Lacy demonstrated not only professionalism, but also compassion, patience, and a true ability to connect. She took the time to understand my daughter’s individual needs and created a safe space where she felt heard, respected, and supported. Lacy’s approach was both structured and empathetic, which allowed my daughter to open up in ways I had not seen before. She was consistent in providing guidance, encouragement, and tools that have had a lasting positive impact. The progress my daughter made under Lacy’s care is something I will always be thankful for. It is clear that Lacy genuinely cares about the young people she works with, and her dedication shines through in the trust she builds and the progress she helps facilitate. I could not have asked for a better therapist to support my daughter through such an important time in her life.

Before learning about this place; I had very limited knowledge about what programs I would be qualified for (I’m a veteran) I assumed just the VA (for medical ) and I never gave it much thought past that . Finding out about the RRC has dramatically changed my life for the better; and I’m profoundly grateful. Prior to going there -I had lost my job and was about to be added to the ranks of the newly homeless (Depending on how you define “ homeless” in some people’s eyes, I would’ve already been there. I was staying on the floor of a gym at a church where I would clean every night in exchange for sleeping there. I was too stubborn to go to a homeless shelter, because the one thing I had left in my life that I had no intention of leaving was my cat. Me and Cleo have been together a long time- she’s my family. Fast forward almost a year. I have my own car; my own apartment (cat friendly! ) I make a little income online but also searching for a job (it’s hard to maintain a job if you can’t wash your clothes or have a place to stay) RRC didn’t do EVERYTHING for me - But I can honestly say I would not be where I’m at now without them. And although it’s a government agency, I have not met a bad employee from there- My caseworker, Amanda Jones; has went out of her way numerous times to help me-These people care about their clients and they do whatever they can to help them- If you are a veteran and you need help, they should be the first people you call. You won’t regret it. I can not thank them enough for what they have done for me.. Thank you RRC and Especially AMANDA!! William (Former squid; GMG - USS Wabash)

Hey! I am so thankful this has been a place of refuge for my socioeconomical and domestic violence problems I have two protective orders on two parties to leave me alone. I have had a past of bad boyfriends and their narcissistic friends who have lied to me and stolen from me and looked past really simple health issues which fogged me up really bad for a long time. I mean I almost died at least once or twice as a young child and have found some really bad deals growing up along the way. Wow! Keeping my own beliefs and trying to keep the enemy away and out of my mind body spirit has not been easy as a middle aged woman. Burke is alright. I am grateful for them, but I don't like it when they change my appointments when I rely on the city bus or Uber, etc. No I am not the one too good for the five dollar bus vouchers. Single mom Cassandra 39. Where was Longview Square Apartments anyway? While my 1boy and 1 girl ran off!? Well at 40 I have to admit as a patient there at Burke I honestly had a recent problem with missing an appointment and rescheduling myself, so there is the humanity I have! Today Feb 18, 2022 was a wonderful day to visit Burke, Hearts for the Homeless was there. It is always good to see them. They made me my sugar cookies I love so much ❤️ with colored frosting and sugar sprinkles.

Three months ago, my dad was very sick and was ordered to go the nearest hospital and so I drove him . We were immediately checked in and the Doctor immediately went to work on him. They explained everything that was going on and treated him well. He was admitted to icu, where he spent the next five days. Dr. Miller ( who I can’t say enough good things about ) was awesome from beginning to end. Unfortunately after three months passes, my dad is having issues, because of the care he received we took him back to this hospital. Again, they had him checked in, the nursing staff treated him with great care. The Doctor on duty was not what I had experienced at the previous visit so I can’t say I was happy with her. She only came in the room once and stuck her head in once. She didn’t explain anything to us. Never knew what was happening. Later he was admitted which would be around 4 am the next morning. Dr. Miller was with my dad by 6 am. The nurses took very good care of dad. He loves Ms. Dorsey. From that 4 am admit until today when we left, every single person we came in contact with was educated, I caring and super friendly. I am happy that our hospital is making some good changes. I pray that it continues to strive. We need this place in our town. Thank you Dr. Miller and staff for helping my dad live a little longer, thank you for caring about not just him but his children too. Keep up the good work.
