I am amending my review due to consistently better service. They switched me to a different Dr and she has been amazing.
Over the last few months they have If you get assigned to Paige as your provider my advice is to ask for someone else. She not only was very rude and condescending from the very beginning but she also lied to me… stating that there is a new “law” that they have to try patients on the suboxone strips before prescribing subutex…. I called my last provider and she assured me that wasn’t true… I knew it was a lie when she said it but when I told her that those strips don’t work for me and I would really rather just stay with the medication that I have been taking for 5 years…. She said “well I’m not losing my license over you”. She also basically called me a bad parent for giving my child CHILDREN melatonin and told me that it messes up the circadian rhythm… which is not a medical fact. She prescribed me TRAZODONE... Yeah I’m sure trazodone (an antidepressant) is so much healthier for you than a naturally produced hormone. To have a health care provider lie to my face and treat me like I’m stupid then to push her own unsubstantiated opinions on me like she is some actual doctor just shows a level of narcissism that I’m not comfortable with my health care provider possessing. If you decide to go to applegate just make sure you don’t let them stick you with Paige. She is not a pleasant person. I called the main office this morning and am having them switch my provider to someone else. Everyone else was amazing. Laura who is one of the program directors was very sweet and so was the lady at the front desk.

Hi 👋 after seeing all the negative reviews.. I would like to share my experience as a patient myself in this facility. I suffered from depression and alcohol abuse. I was placed in this facility by the emergency room I was at. I did not pick this place as my first choice. Who was I to be picky anyway. I needed help. When I first arrived I was very sick and going through withdrawals. I was a bit terrified because it was a scary place to be in considering you’re in there with other addicts and we all looked like sh** to say the least. But after awhile I got use to it and came to realize they were human just like myself and are actually good people who just were in this same cycle of abuse I was in. I felt like I was going to die in there the first few days because I was so sick from my withdrawals and getting up everyday for checks, meds, meeting with psychologist, counselor, groups, etc was very difficult for me. But I was so thankful for what seemed like help for the first time in my life I wasn’t going to give up. The staff was nice and friendly. There is A LOT going on in there so I can see how a need or two may not be met. You have to realize you’re not dealing with sane individuals in here. You’re dealing with lost souls. That is not easy work. The bathrooms are dungeon like lol but it got the job done. The food was excellent. They had it going on with the meals and snacks. lol they offered cigs and phone calls. We got to go outside and be social. They have a picnic area and a basketball court. They had a living area for movies. Just to name a few. It really wasn’t that bad. Yes I did get put on medication and was doped up but I needed it at that time. Coming off anything causes a lot of anxiety and depression. When I got out I got to talk to my doctor and Psychiatrist about meds and we changed what was needed. While I was there they talked to me about options for long term treatment. But at the time I didn’t want to do a long term treatment center. So they asked different questions and made sure I had somewhere to go when I left. Which was home for me. I lived by myself so they set me up for outpatient care and I had a whole team of people working for me and would come to my house. I was really grateful for the experience. It was eye opening for me. I enjoyed the group therapy classes. It was a great start for my recovery. Although, I ended up relapsing again and again. This place really helped me.
Don’t except your loved ones to come out of here completely brand new. Becoming sober is a long road to recovery. It may take several rehabs and several relapses. It’s all about the will power and mindset. And most definitely the support of professionals. That’s why relying on family alone does not work. We have to let the professionals do their job. Again, I’m thankful for my experience here and I’m almost 2 years sober now. I hope this message finds you well. I do not mean to push any buttons or insult anyone. I’m just sharing my own personal experience. God bless anyone fighting addiction and families who are affected as well. May God be with us all. 🙏

I entered CADA March 30, 2017, I was completely out of hope, and full of despair, the only solution I thought I had was suicide. My drinking, and drug use took me to a place of desperation. I could not stay sober, but I could not quit using. I went 20 plus years of suffering. The only coping mechanism I had, for every emotion, was to change the was I felt with drugs, and alcohol. When I was sad, I used, when I was happy, I used. My life revolved around when I would get my next bottle, or find my next high. I lied, cheated, and stole, whatever it took to get my drug of choice. I destroyed my family, and friends. I was like a hurricane in people I loved lives. I saw only darkness.
In CADA, I learned tools, coping mechanisms, of how to deal with life, on life's terms, without alcohol, and drugs. I gained a new sense of self worth. I started to recover from a disease that had already taken so many I loved, including my mother.
CADA took another chance on me 6 months into my recovery. I was hired as part of the support staff. I continued to learn and grow, in the place that saved my life. Three, and half years later, I am now part of the Peer Support Team, giving back, what was given to me.
One of my favorite quotes is, "It is always darkest before the dawn." CADA gave me my dawn.

CADA offers a treatment solution for almost anyone! It is affordable and very comprehensive in its therapy. My favorite programs at CADA are the adolescent treatment facility, which includes a full time teacher, and the Family program. Women who are pregnant, or have children are welcomed in the family hall. Their children attend public school. Infants and toddlers are cared for while the ladies participate in their groups or counseling sessions. CADA has been a LIFESAVER for hundreds of recovering people!

I want to express my deep appreciation for the outstanding work Lacy has done with my niece during her time at Sundown Ranch. From the start, it was clear that Lacy had a special ability to connect with her and create a safe, supportive environment where she could open up and grow.
