Therapist Lisa is amazing in every way. She has truly changed my view on counseling and has helped me so very much. She is incredibly supportive, and I genuinely feel comfortable telling her any and everything. Incredible staff! I have never waited for more than 10 minutes for any appointment and the doctors are so thorough and friendly. They don't make you feel rushed at all. They CARE! As far as psych unuts go, this one is *TOP* of my list!! The food is AMAZING, the people are WONDERFUL, the programs they do and the support they provide are absolutely the best I've had (and, I'm not ashamed to say I've been to *many* different inpatient units over my lifetime. 😅 Being able to go in when you realize you're out of sorts or not feeling safe is VERY important!! We don't talk enough about mental health in the world, and it's just as important as physical care!) Anyway.... 10/10... HIGHLY recommend! (And no, I'm not getting paid yo say this! 🤣)

Although I have nothing to compare this program to, I found my care to be top notch. Okay, the beds are a bit hard but the doctors, social workers and the nurses (almost forgot to mention the OT folks) were incredibly kind and effective. In my opinion, the inpatient program is as successful as the work you put into it. There is no magic cure; just need to pull yourself up by the britches and dive in. Oh- the food is quite good as well! I would highly recommend this inpatient psychiatric programming!

Connections Counseling is by far the best place I have ever been to for therapy and treatment. My therapist is insightful, inspiring, relatable and very knowledgeable. She encourages me to look within myself for strength and wisdom while she is there to help me. I now have 1.5 years of sobriety under my belt and have confidence in the future The groups are a place of safety and comfort. The staff aswell as the peers are relatable, inspiring and encouraging. Kim is the most uplifting person you will ever come across in recovery. Smart move to have her be the first person you deal with at Connections. I've been with the Wishope Recovery program for the last 8 months - 30 days residential, 30 days transitional, and 190 days in sober living. I spent 90 days total in programming learning about addiction, recovery, and about myself. The staff was extremely supportive and helpful at every step along the way. They have answered my questions, listened to my fears, and celebrated my achievements. I would not be where I am today if I had not been a part of this program. I tried to get sober by myself for years before stepping into the residential facility, and there I found the pathway to finding and maintaining my sobriety going forward. I am very appreciative and thankful for this program.

From homelessness and on the verge of sacrificing what life i had, I took the advice of a counselor to go to a mental hospital. During my 12 day detox I was told about Wishope and that rehab may be good for me. Being open to anything different than what I had became my focal point, so I took the offer and went to Woods Crossing to start my first rehab journey in residential. I'm so grateful that I took it! That's when I got sober. It was suggested that I do the step down program which took several months. That is when I learned to be sober. I learned about myself and trauma. I learned about addiction. I also learned that my flaws weren't weaknesses, but things I just wasn't good at. Yet still a part of me that made up who I am. I have learned to respect myself, set goals that are achievable, cope with what life throws at me sober, and how to love myself and smile again. God has thankfully removed the filter that I once looked at the world thru and given me one that is filled with love, faith in something bigger than myself, and respect to myself and others. By the grace of God I am now learning to LIVE sober. And what a blessing that gift is. A BETTER WAY TO LIVE. Thank you Wishope for giving me 12 months sober and pushed me to be uncomfortable at times, vulnerable at other times without judgment, and pushing me to be better. This experience has been worth everything to me and literally changed my life!

WisHope has helped me get my life back. Coming through this program has been the best decision I could have made. The staff is amazing and is always there for you any time of the day. I was able to learn so much about myself and how to continue working on myself for the rest of my life. Wishope helped me to identify my triggers and then how to cope with them. This is the first time that I have ever enjoyed seeing a therapist and actually focusing on how to better my life. This is my first rehab program, and I am very happy I selected to go here. I completed the step down program, and I believe this was a huge part of helping me to learn a new daily healthy routine. I am now 7 months sober, and without Wishope I wouldn’t be able to say that!(:

I think this place benefits everyone that comes to it. There was this one guy though that kept talking about getting loads all the time. There was another guy that was born a mouse and now is growing into a rat, He smoked weed the whole Time. Made it hard to focus on my recovery. Then he did the perky dance right outta here. My family was encouraging me to get help. I put it off as long as possible. If I was going to treatment, I wanted a very nice program and a private room. I finally went to The Manor. This place saved my life. The staff were very patient with me. I had been to treatment before but it was nothing like this program. I liked having individual therapy. Also, my wife and I had a lot of couples counseling. I was also able to do some work and that helped relieve stress about losing clients or my company. I have been home now for several months. It has been difficult at times but I am doing well. I have my life and my family back.

I was given an ultimatum by my wife. Go to The Manor or get a divorce. You do a lot of hard work there and within two weeks it was clear that my addiction to meth was a co addiction evolving primarily from my addiction to a controlling and mentally abusive wife. The staff is wonderful..they ask the tough questions but we do the work. I'm now happily divorced and drug free! Thank you to the amazing staff!

March 25 I will have been clean for 2 years. I have been to many clinics and never have come this far! If I have a problem I get dealt with usually that day and with addiction being fast and efficient can be life or death. I think Dr. Harkin has tried hard to make his clinic a better the typical methadone clinics and I think he’s done amazing job! Not one of the other clinics in Madison can you walk into and say I’m struggling can I please talk to the doctor, not one of them will you be able to do that but at ASAP you can and that’s enough for me that right there is what it should be! When we walk in there in the morning sometimes all we need is someone to say hi , how are u doing with a smile on their face and that’s enough to change that day!! I’m so grateful for my second chance at life….well let’s keep it real more like 100th chance at life!! Lol but I think I got it this time and that’s thanks to dr. Harkin and he’s amazing staff!!

Dr Harkin, is great he is truly compassionate for his patient's. I have only been to one other clinic and they just treat you like a number, they treat you with respect at ASAP and they don't judge. It seems like everyone likes Dr Harkin, you will even find him out in the parking lot from time to time giving fist bumps to his patient's and asking them how they are doing.

I came to Brown Deer adult residential having given up, feeling like I was a lot cause, and no hope that I had a chance or that they could help. They allowed me to not only come get treatment, but they gave me the tools I needed to change my life. I will be the first to admit their jobs are anything but easy, but they do a phenomenal job. I have only ever been in the adult residential side, so I cannot speak on the other units, but the adult residential program absolutely changed my life. They prioritized my safety, comfort, and taught me how to prioritize me. When I think of when I was finally able to turn my life around, Brown Deer will always be a huge part of that. The impact they had on me is truly remarkable. After 6 weeks there and completing the program I can confidently say I have confidence in myself, I love myself, I am proud of myself, I am not a lost cause, and I CAN DO HARD THINGS. I am not the same person I was at admission, not even a little bit. If you are struggling and feel like you are out of options, give this place a shot and be willing to try their advice because even when you don’t want to hear it, it works. Thank you to the team at Brown Deer for giving me the tools to turn my life around. Yall brought the light back into my eyes and I will be forever grateful. p.s. My son is currently inpatient. He had a rough couple days and refused to speak to me. He finally called me today with a whole new outlook. He said it’s not a “bad” place and they let him do puzzles all the time. The drs are keeping in contact with me as his meds are needed some work so he can be fully himself when he gets home. I was extremely misinformed when I was told it was a bad place.

If you need help getting your life on track and you struggle with addiction this is the place to go. I tried many other avenues and nothing worked. The staff is super friendly. Jeff has done a great job giving patients multiple ways to check in. No longer do you have to guess your place in line with the new system. I never wait more than 5 minutes and honestly I am usually able to walk in and walk out within 2 minutes. The nursing staff truly care about you. It has been sad to see some people who work there (like counselors) leave but that’s life. People move on to bigger and better things. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting help with opioid addiction. They helping me regain control of my life.
