I came into the ER, was admitted, and then had my gallbladder removed. From the moment I arrived there, it felt like most hospitals used to feel. It felt like a place where they would do everything they could to get you feeling better. These types of hospitals seem to be getting harder to find. There were so many excellent doctors, nurses, and staff that I interacted with over the 4 days I was there. Especially nurses Gwen Kay, Rose Whitehead, and the doctors in my surgical team. Everyone was great, but I'm terrible with remembering names so please forgive me. Anyway, please keep doing what you're doing. It was about as great of an experience as one could have while still walking away missing an organ. Thank you for everything! Okay, the beds are a bit hard but the doctors, social workers and the nurses (almost forgot to mention the OT folks) were incredibly kind and effective. In my opinion, the inpatient program is as successful as the work you put into it. There is no magic cure; just need to pull yourself up by the britches and dive in. Our pediatrician at the time took a last-minute vacation, and Dr. Sheedy was the doctor who came to Waukesha Memorial Hospital and took care of him.That was pretty much it for me. We left our old pediatrician after that and have been with Dr. Sheedy ever since.He has watched my son grow from a tiny high-risk newborn into this wild 8-year-old boy, and he has watched my daughter grow into almost a teenager. He knows my kids, he talks TO them and not just over them, and he makes them feel safe. As a mom, that means everything to me. He is family friendly, honest, kind, funny, and just real. He never makes you feel dumb for asking questions and never makes you feel rushed. I truly trust him with my kids, and after 8 years I can say that with my whole heart. They allowed me to not only come get treatment, but they gave me the tools I needed to change my life. I will be the first to admit their jobs are anything but easy, but they do a phenomenal job. I have only ever been in the adult residential side, so I cannot speak on the other units, but the adult residential program absolutely changed my life. They prioritized my safety, comfort, and taught me how to prioritize me. When I think of when I was finally able to turn my life around, Brown Deer will always be a huge part of that. The impact they had on me is truly remarkable. After 6 weeks there and completing the program I can confidently say I have confidence in myself, I love myself, I am proud of myself, I am not a lost cause, and I CAN DO HARD THINGS. I am not the same person I was at admission, not even a little bit. If you are struggling and feel like you are out of options, give this place a shot and be willing to try their advice because even when you don’t want to hear it, it works. Therapist Lisa is amazing in every way. She has truly changed my view on counseling and has helped me so very much. She is incredibly supportive, and I genuinely feel comfortable telling her any and everything. Having been through the WisHope Step-Down Housing Program and Wis Hope Treatment Program, I can tell you first hand, that this is a program that can change your entire life, if getting sober and improving your life is truly what you are ready for and willing to do. I struggled with the use of heroin/fentanyl/pain pills for 20 years. It wasn't WisHope that made me stop using. It was "Me" that made "Me" stop using. And it is Wis Hope that co-signed every single step I took to NOT get high every day or give in to the cravings that made me doubt everything that I was doing. Wis Hope offered me the support I needed from day to day to make sure I reached the only goal I wanted to achieve. And that was to make sure I hit my pillow every single night sober! I didn't give a damn if I didn't get one thing done on my "To-do-Lists". And then when I was ready to take the next step, Wis Hope was ALWAYS and still is right there behind me supporting me and giving me the strength I need to realize that I am worth way more than I ever gave myself credit for. They helped me find my purpose again. I have so much to be grateful and thankful for every single day. Instead of chasing that next high and wasting my time degrading and de-facing myself, I amhappy and eager in accomplishing my goals to become the best version of myself. So much that because of my determination and focus, I am now an employee for WisHope helping other people reach their goals and helping them to get past the pain and suffering I once knew all to well. I was just discharged from there today. I came into the ER, was admitted, and then had my gallbladder removed. From the moment I arrived there, it felt like most hospitals used to feel. It felt like a place where they would do everything they could to get you feeling better. These types of hospitals seem to be getting harder to find. There were so many excellent doctors, nurses, and staff that I interacted with over the 4 days I was there. Especially nurses Gwen Kay, Rose Whitehead, and the doctors in my surgical team. Everyone was great, but I'm terrible with remembering names so please forgive me. Anyway, please keep doing what you're doing. It was about as great of an experience as one could have while still walking away missing an organ. Thank you for everything!

As far as psych unuts go, this one is *TOP* of my list!! The food is AMAZING, the people are WONDERFUL, the programs they do and the support they provide are absolutely the best I've had (and, I'm not ashamed to say I've been to *many* different inpatient units over my lifetime. 😅 Being able to go in when you realize you're out of sorts or not feeling safe is VERY important!! We don't talk enough about mental health in the world, and it's just as important as physical care!) Anyway.... 10/10... HIGHLY recommend! (And no, I'm not getting paid yo say this! 🤣)

Although I have nothing to compare this program to, I found my care to be top notch. Okay, the beds are a bit hard but the doctors, social workers and the nurses (almost forgot to mention the OT folks) were incredibly kind and effective. In my opinion, the inpatient program is as successful as the work you put into it. There is no magic cure; just need to pull yourself up by the britches and dive in. Oh- the food is quite good as well! I would highly recommend this inpatient psychiatric programming!

This was not my first treatment, but it was definitely the best! WisHope offered me a different type of treatment using DBT that taught me skills to use in everyday life and on my sober journey. The staff members were compassionate, empathetic and also knowledgeable. Most are in recovery themselves which made their experiences more valuable to the program that helped nurture clients’ recovery process. The one on one therapy was like none I ever had, getting to the root of some of the contributors to my substance abuse. The recovery community is amazing here! I always felt heard, supported and encouraged every step of the way!

Dr. Sheedy is seriously one of those doctors I wish there were more of. He is so down to earth, so easy to talk to, and just one of those people who makes you feel comfortable the second you walk in. My daughter is almost 13 and absolutely adores him, and my son is 8 and loves him too.And honestly it is crazy to me that we have been with him for EIGHT YEARS now. He literally came into our lives when my son was born. Hendrix was considered high risk because of the Rh factor issue and there was concern he could possibly need a blood transfusion. Our pediatrician at the time took a last-minute vacation, and Dr. Sheedy was the doctor who came to Waukesha Memorial Hospital and took care of him.That was pretty much it for me. We left our old pediatrician after that and have been with Dr. Sheedy ever since.He has watched my son grow from a tiny high-risk newborn into this wild 8-year-old boy, and he has watched my daughter grow into almost a teenager. He knows my kids, he talks TO them and not just over them, and he makes them feel safe. As a mom, that means everything to me. He is family friendly, honest, kind, funny, and just real. He never makes you feel dumb for asking questions and never makes you feel rushed. I truly trust him with my kids, and after 8 years I can say that with my whole heart. I really wish they made more doctors like Dr. Sheedy. We are so lucky he walked into our lives when he did!

Came in with alot of pain, but was greeted by many friendly faces. Good bed-side manner by all employees. Kept me informed frequently on my progress, and kept comfortable as best that they could. I left with the medications I needed and full instructions what to do when I get home. Follow up appt was scheduled the next day. Great care here if you need help when you to see a doctor.

Connections Counseling is by far the best place I have ever been to for therapy and treatment. My therapist is insightful, inspiring, relatable and very knowledgeable. She encourages me to look within myself for strength and wisdom while she is there to help me. I now have 1.5 years of sobriety under my belt and have confidence in the future The groups are a place of safety and comfort. The staff aswell as the peers are relatable, inspiring and encouraging. Kim is the most uplifting person you will ever come across in recovery. Smart move to have her be the first person you deal with at Connections. I think this place benefits everyone that comes to it. There was this one guy though that kept talking about getting loads all the time. There was another guy that was born a mouse and now is growing into a rat, He smoked weed the whole Time. Made it hard to focus on my recovery. Then he did the perky dance right outta here. Kim is a wonderful staff member along with Karen. The rest of the staff isn’t bad either.

Asap is such an awesome clinic. The best one I've been to, tbh. I don't go to this Madison one specifically, I go to the one in Milwaukee co/West Allis. But I wanted to review Madison because I know that is where Dr. Harkin usually practiced, and he'd be in Milwaukee once a week, a while ago. He is/was one of the best doctors ever. I miss him dearly. A couple years ago during an appointment with him, he wrote me a note to place somewhere I could see it often that says; "I am valuable", and I put it in my lock box for my take homes, and it's been there ever since. I see it everyday. It is the little things in life. Definitely bummed he retired, hope he is doing well. And Asap clinic is most definitely the one to go to, if you are looking for a clinic. They actually care and don't make you feel like just another number in their system.

What I will remember most is not the building, the groups, or the program—it is the people. The treatment team, MHTs, nurses, housekeeping staff, and everyone who quietly showed up for us every single day treated me with dignity when I was struggling to find it for myself. Roger's Behavioral Health Brown Deer is amazing. I had a chance to be in another Residential Facility with Roger's Health in Oconomowoc, there is a reason that people from all over the country come here to get better. I came in with a lot of things that needed to help fixing and to better know myself and my mental health. After a little over a month, I am doing so much better and going back home to my family. I came to Brown Deer adult residential having given up, feeling like I was a lot cause, and no hope that I had a chance or that they could help. They allowed me to not only come get treatment, but they gave me the tools I needed to change my life. I will be the first to admit their jobs are anything but easy, but they do a phenomenal job. I have only ever been in the adult residential side, so I cannot speak on the other units, but the adult residential program absolutely changed my life. They prioritized my safety, comfort, and taught me how to prioritize me. When I think of when I was finally able to turn my life around, Brown Deer will always be a huge part of that. The impact they had on me is truly remarkable. After 6 weeks there and completing the program I can confidently say I have confidence in myself, I love myself, I am proud of myself, I am not a lost cause, and I CAN DO HARD THINGS. I am not the same person I was at admission, not even a little bit. If you are struggling and feel like you are out of options, give this place a shot and be willing to try their advice because even when you don’t want to hear it, it works. Thank you to the team at Brown Deer for giving me the tools to turn my life around. Yall brought the light back into my eyes and I will be forever grateful. p.s.
