I had the wonderful opportunity to be able to recover at the Hazelden Betty Ford Clinic. They treat your addiction and mental health and that has been tremendously instrumental in my recovery. Every staff member at this facility is kind and cares about your recovery journey. There are so many activities to do outside of groups. The campus is beautiful. I would highly recommend choosing this facility. They have so much to offer and you will not regret starting your recovery journey here!

This centered based program is a master class on recovery, in my opinion, it's the one place you can really start over and begin the change so desperately needed for the road to recovery!!! The staff at Burkwood is second to none. The RA's and nurse's understand you and are amazing people!!! The cooks created fantastic food (Michelin Star grade) three squares and dessert!!! Also snacks on deck😉 The counselors are fantastic and each has a unique experience which gives better perspective on your journey! You can really emerse yourself in the program if you keep an open mind, don't get in your own way, and mind your bobber. With the community, you will feel like family, not only with the clients but the staff as well! People really care here and you will feel it! The comrodary you may not have known you needed is here and helps you become healthy, not only for yourself but in relationships and life over all. The best version of yourself is waiting to be realized!! Everyone I know has congratulated my achievements since graduating this program. I have no regrets and a much clearer pathway to my goals in recovery. After here, life really begins!

Been to this place off and on for years best place and coming back I felt really heard and seen and actually helped my mental health so much the staff is amazing there and my family therapist is the best and even the dbt day treatment and I would definitely recommend this place. Finding therapist is hard and finding the right fit is hard too but if anyone feels this place isn’t the best it is you can choose who to work with and what works best for you. If I could give 10 stars I would and before I left this place as a teenager I had Karen king and she was a beautiful soul ! Helped me through a lot so definitely recommended this place for any help you need! Everyone in the dbt day treatment was the best staff ever! And the family therapist chue is amazing helped me out and my partner out so much and will continue working with him !

This is an excellent treatment center. It's out in the country with a ton of wildlife, and a farm next door with emus, ostriches, horses and a zebra(that i didnt see but it was really cold). There are 4 different buildings so you get outside a lot. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They will help you with anything. From legal issues to Healthcare to filling out assistance forms and sending them in. They will bring you to offsite appointments and court dates. (You won't miss important things like a reviewer said) The food is decent, you will gain weight if you eat all the meals and finish them. While I was there we had an awesome community of people that were willing to help any way they could. There was no judgment if you opened up. The counselors are awesome and teach productive groups. Other people in the program said it was the best treatment center they have ever been to. The negative reviews are from family or partners that don't understand the person that went here didn't care about getting sober. Were just there for 3 meals and a warm bed. I watched this firsthand. They have lockers and locking wall closets so it's your fault if something gets stolen. People steal no matter where they are so it's nieve to think it would change just because your in treatment. That's just a part of life sadly. I didn't see or hear that while I was there though. Cedar Ridge gave me a very solid foundation for recovery and staying sober. Got me into an aftercare program where I wanted as well. Highly recommend to anyone who needs help getting sober and learning to staying sober. THANK YOU CEDAR RIDGE STAFF! THANK YOU EMILY!

I graduated from The Shakopee Haven in December 2022. This place changed my life for the better. I owe a lot to my Counselor Chris for not giving up on me. I ended up here after a rough day (a.k.a. life). Ten beds, mostly residents recovering from alcohol or drug use. Rooms are spacious and clean. Food was decent, incredibly large portions. Staff was kind, caring, and genuine. The big guy who checked me in thanked me for being there. I don’t have family or friends, and that simple kindness meant more than he probably knew. I was no a fan of the psychiatrist. He seemed offended when I asked if he would coordinate with my regular psychiatrist about my meds. When I said I wasn’t sleeping, he said they do 15-minute checks and I was, which made me feel like my honesty was being questioned. My discharge notes didn’t reflect what I meant when answering questions about self-harm, and I left feeling unheard and invalidated.

I was just there for a week and they make it feel like such a safe place for patients and it definitely felt safe to me. Also the nurses and doctors are very good at what they do and are so open so you can tell them anything. They are all so great at what they do. I appreciate them all, all the ones I’ve met there. Definitely recommend!!

Sunita was wonderful along with Jimi and all the other beautiful people I shared my heart and soul either crafting or cooking something and with all the confidence and abundance I found there I've catapulted to General Manager at two companies but am pursuing an information technology degree with emphasis on cybersecurity I love you allll namaste!!!

I wish we had more programs like this available in the area. They truly care about children/teens and their well-being. I only have experience with the Amery location but this program was life-changing for us and our child. You have to put in the work though, and be open to receiving outside feedback. I have heard mixed reviews from parents but I think it mostly depends on how you "embrace" the program and try to support your child by learning about their mental health. I gave 4/5 stars only because nobody is perfect.

After being diagnosed with Non epileptic seizures/events in December 2024, it has been a battle. Though my seizures/events are getting better, I am still struggling with being listened to by medical staff. I had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Ernest T. Hanes at Noran Neurology in Lake Elm. Dr. Hanes not only knew what NES was but was willing and able to help. Getting me on a new medication, setting me up with referrals, and ordering testing for me. For the first time since this diagnosis, I feel as if I have been heard. If you are looking for a neurologist in Minnesota, I highly recommend  Noran Neurology in Lake Elmo, ask for Dr. Hanes!

I was diagnosed with seizures when I was in 6th grade, going between at least 5 different medications because my doctors couldn't get it right! Ever since I've gone to Noran it's been my savior, helping find the right meds because they ACTUALLY understood my diagnosis. 5/5 would recommend to anyone struggling with mental disorders! I have had the luxury of meeting 2 of the therapist here, Amanda and Val. Both have helped me significantly. Its hard to find a good therapist and when you do its worth the effort. I have been working with Val for a little while and we have a great connection. I feel like Im getting the help I desperately needed and was not able to find elsewhere. I highly recommend this place. When it comes to therapy in general, finding a good fit is up to the individual and it may vary person to person. I feel blessed to have 2 for 2 at this place.

This clinic is such an amazing place. They do everything they can in their power to help children & adolescents grow and overcome whatever mental illness they may be struggling with. As an intern there last summer, I got to witness first hand how kind, empathetic, and life-changing this staff is. They were so welcoming to me, and to every child that walked through those doors. Watching the therapists at Aris Clinic do their work has been my main motivation for the future. I can only hope to be half the therapist that the ones at Aris are one day!

The nutritionist there is HORRIBLE. I personally am lactose intolerant and when I was admitted my liver was bad, so I needed a diet tailored to helping me recover. She told me if I can’t find anything to just eat from the salad bar. I stood my ground and she let the kitchen staff know I was lactose intolerant and couldn’t eat fried stuff but that is ridiculous I should not have to argue with her. Then my roommate had ARFID so she needed dietary help, and the nutritionist told her to eat bread. That’s a sad and pathetic excuse for a nutritionist. Staffs great but they should certainly fire her.

With any institution trying to implement a broad program for individuals, there are bound to be issues. With that being said, my time at HBF Plymouth was invaluable. I especially want to mention Mary the psychologist & counselors Sara and Cozi on the Pioneer Unit. Advocacy is a huge part of individual recovery, and I was especially encouraged by these three to ask for what I need when I need it. It works if you work it!
