This place is great. I was very scared to attend but after a week or so, felt at home. The staff is amazing. I just wish we had more time with staff. There is a good amount of peer-led activity and that can be hit or miss. But the sessions with staff were always great.
Food is above average for a place like this and the medical staff is top notch.
I would recommend anybody needing treatment to go to Center City.
For those crying and saying there was no change in their loved-ones... those folks must have not been attending sessions or doing the work provided. I watched grown adults walk in as big zombie children and leave as men - ready to go to the next phase. After your stay, YOU STILL HAVE WORK TO DO. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?

So my experience here was an amazing life changing moment, that is leading the way for me to be successful in my Recovery. From every single RA to the kitchen staff, and everyone else that works there. My counselor was Jon, he was funny, blunt, caring and very smart. Im grateful to have met him. Cheryl and Kelly may seem like tough cookies, but they are god sent human beings that want nothing but the best for each and everyone of you. I see the hate in the comments..... The program is simple, follow the rules, learn, participate, and dont waste a bed for people that really want this!. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Im blessed i got the chance. Burkwood is an amazing place. Their staff truly care and are so rich of information to share about addiction, recovery, and real life. They’re are meant for their jobs. I’ve learned so much while I was there. I valued the daily book we filled out on our own, fully engaging and eye opening. I was lucky to have Pete as my counselor. His approach was thorough and helpful. My only complaint is that it was crowded there and access to phones, bathrooms, and laundry was a bit tricky but maybe that will change at some point. Thank you Burkwood!

My time at Burkwood was amazing, to say the least. The staff were great and it truly is up to you if you want this place to help you! Take what you can from it and be grateful. Reading some of these horrible reviews is crazy to me! It’s not a vacation - for a treatment center it’s pretty damn nice! The classes do get a little monotonous, but for the most part were engaging and helpful. My counselor Derek was the absolute best and the RAs Diane, William, Kristin, Aidan and Ashley were genuine and helpful. They are heavily rooted in AA which I thought I would hate at first, but if you’re just open-minded and listen to what speaks to you it’s not too shabby. They helped me set up IOP and sober living after and I’m enjoying the beginning of my sober life thus far. Thank you Burkwood ❤️

Of all the treatment I've been to in the last 15 years, Lakeshore has been the best in many ways, but there is always a few bad apples in a bunch.
Let me explain;
THE BEST:
Emily Schwab and the other Certified Peer Recovery Specialists dive in, driven by empathy and altruism. Getting everything a person needs in early recovery taken care of for you and lining up everything for our near future.
The Good:
The counselors care and are very attentive to our needs and help build a treatment plan worthy of a valiant attempt from our end.
The Bad:
Chad Walker. The treatment director. He is arrogant and selfish. He knows best, just ask him and he will tell you. He is very brash to people in vulnerable states and seems to have taken it upon himself to make his own rules and designs outside the scope of what EOSIS is trying to do for recovery.
Get a new director and I would recommend this place to anyone.
Also I think CPRS workers, especially ones this dedicated, should be independent contractors. Or, they should get paid more than "I think" they do because of the amount of actual work they do for us!!!

Gwen and Scott are the best. I tried other treatments, but this one is definitely the best. All the other ones I tried, were for profit, and it truly showed, they were more interested in moving you to a higher level of care than actually helping you. My advice, always choose a non profit treatment facility, and Canvas is the one I chose and I highly recommend it.

Our school has had an incredibly positive experience with Canvas Health and their staff. The mental health supports their skilled staff provide has made a difference in the lives of 1,000s of students and staff over the course of the past 2+ years. CEDAR RIDGE is an essential reason in my return to recovery. Staff; welcoming, skilled, and confident; crucially needed in spite of the COVID pandemic during my brief time there. Unfortunately afflicted with an onset of sudden mental health symptoms, unidentified at the time; they're compassion for humanitiy, spiritual development, and supportive guidance in all areas of human bankruptcy was simply, uncompromising.

I came to Kinnic directly from Burkwood treatment center. I was told that you have enough freedom here to lasso the world or to hang yourself. Now being at Kinnic in a twon with alot of bars, a college, and liquor being sold at gas stations, immediately I seen what they meant. But if your here to better your life, set yourself uo for success, and taki g your recovery seriously, this is the place to to so. The Tech's who are mostly ex clients are amazing, wonderful, and just the right people for the job. Going beyond that to where people come in to speak, set you up for a job, and share endless knowledge of recovery is a daily thing. The counselors here are loving, caring people who truly want the best for you. I had Matt, and I made a friend for life. He stepped uo when I really needed someone, not just on a professional level, but a human being. He showed me love, and understanding and did not leave my side until he felt I was ok, that included staying after work and getting me ice cream and pizza. Im not the type to get close to people in this world, but coming up on my last day I feel sadness, and there will be part of me that will have a hole in it. How do I replace a place like this, I cant, but I can remain in recovery and the AA community. So if your questioning whether or not to come here.... DO IT!!!!!! Awesome staff, bring my inverted bother who fuses to see doctors @72 years old had a stroke, it took us 6 hour to convince him to go to the Hudson emergence room. The doctor was very informative plus convinced my brother to stay over night to prevent another stroke.
Dr. Reierson is amazing trying to figure out best plan for my brother. All the nurses are very special, gently dealing with all my brothers phobia’s. A very special Thank You, to the night team nurses Sophia and Ciara never missed a beat dealing with a difficult episode and keeping my brother clam and caring for him as much as they did. After 5 days and letting me stay with my brother every step of the way, really warmed my heart. He would have never mentally survived the big hospital in the cities. Thank you all for all you do.❤️

This clinic is such an amazing place. They do everything they can in their power to help children & adolescents grow and overcome whatever mental illness they may be struggling with. As an intern there last summer, I got to witness first hand how kind, empathetic, and life-changing this staff is. They were so welcoming to me, and to every child that walked through those doors. Watching the therapists at Aris Clinic do their work has been my main motivation for the future. I can only hope to be half the therapist that the ones at Aris are one day!

I have had the luxury of meeting 2 of the therapist here, Amanda and Val. Both have helped me significantly. Its hard to find a good therapist and when you do its worth the effort. I have been working with Val for a little while and we have a great connection. I feel like Im getting the help I desperately needed and was not able to find elsewhere. I highly recommend this place. When it comes to therapy in general, finding a good fit is up to the individual and it may vary person to person. I feel blessed to have 2 for 2 at this place.

Great place for all types of counseling needs. Even though it comes up as marriage counseling, they have a wide variety of issues they can help to work through.
