Bethlehem, CT | Located in Hartford, Connecticut, Newport Academy is an alcohol and drug rehab program that offers addiction treatment services to men and women struggling with addiction. They offer residential treatment, intensive outpatient, and outpatient treatment services to teens ages 13 to 17. Newport Academy is an addiction treatment center for individual | Programs Payment Options | Newport was such a helpful and worth it choice for my recovery. I was provided with great care no matter the time of day or night. My family therapist moe, helped my parent and I start to grow a relationship I never thought id have. My CC's were amazing people! Its really hard to go into residential knowing you wont be home for a long time, but all of my staff made it so much easier and fun. It makes a big difference when your staff and treatment team can have fun and want to be there with all of you so thank you guys for that! The food i will say i struggled with. It wasn't the best tasting or most diverse menu but some days it was pretty good. All of the teachers at Newport are amazing. They make learning fun and relaxed while also still encouraging you to get your work done. I was scared to go to residential but Newport was such a great experience for me and has helped me through things I thought I couldn't even ever live with. I would definitely recommend Newport to any adolescent or family looking to find healthy and helpful treatment with mental health.

Genuinely a great experience. I received a lot of the help I’ve needed for years. The family therapy was very helpful with Gloria in creating a better communication system between me and my parents so far. The food was good when Ben made it, but it wasn’t the most balanced. Overall, the living space and treatment team was great and I hope you decide to send your adolescent here.

My experience was absolutely amazing. I was in the Mustang pod, October 25 (2023) - January 7 (2024). I was previously at a rehab in Minnesota and it was a unanimous decision that I needed more treatment. From the very first day I got there everyone was so welcoming, kind and accepting. I have severe allergies to egg and peanut so that also gives me really bad food anxiety. The nutritionist there was so so helpful and made sure I always had a fulfilling meal, from Breakfast to evening snack to the food I have to eat before breakfast (meds). Since I was in the substance abuse pod, we were able to go off site to NA/AA meetings. That helped me immensely. Kayla and Lisa the counselors for this pod are literally heaven sent. I love them so much and never made anything I talked about feel embarrassing or stupid. All the activities we had throughout the day like Gong, Equine, Music therapy, Tea making, Yoga, Gym, Nutrition, Adventure (S/O J.D), Art, Alumni, MMA (Love Vince, he's awesome.), and others I probably forgot to mention. For school, the teachers I had helped me a lot and made sure I was caught up and beyond where I needed to be in order to pass my sophomore year. (Ayeeee shout out Chris) There was quite a bit of drama, but nothing intolerable. The only thing I really disliked was how immature some of the staff was, making some people in my house (Dove) feel invalidated etc. That obviously isn't something that changed how my entire experience was but i was also one of those people they didn't 'like' for a little bit. I think they need to be more mindful when choosing who to hire. When we just have chill time in between activities, the CC's were so fun and easy to talk to. They all had such a huge impact on my stay. And the cooks!!! Holy crap. They kept me feeling included 3x a day every single day. When we had continental breakfast, they would make me egg free muffins, or the French toast bake egg free. And when it was something I just didn't like, I was able to eat a Sun butter and Jelly, Pasta, or cereal. I never went to bed or woke up hungry, unlike my other experience elsewhere. Overall it was such an eye opening experience and forever changed my life for the better. Also they did an amazing job administrating my Vivitrol injection monthly. One of the CC'S would go in there with me and hold my hand and talk to me. I'm sober to this day, (2 years coming up!!) Reading these reviews makes me upset, because in these programs you have to want to get better. You have to try and if you don't you're going to have a bad experience. It sucks at first, I would literally cry every week before, during, and after family therapy, but it's not because the therapist is bad. These 1 star reviews are solely personal. It has nothing to do with the staff. They're simply doing their job and making sure you are putting in the work to get better. Its not supposed to be fun. But if you put the hard stuff aside and focus on petting the horses, or making your tea bags when it's that time, you will find it to be tolerable. A good attitude = good outcomes.
ANYWAYS if an actual human is reading this tell everyone I said sup

Bethlehem, CT | In the woodlands of the Southwestern Connecticut city of Bethlehem is the behavioral health treatment facility, Wellspring. You'll find a structured curriculum here that will help you find renewed fulf | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I was here from 1992-1994, wellspring made me feel safe and cared for, my therapist Joe B was amazing, so caring and understanding, and the staff specifically Heather and Andy were like role models for many of us...I learned so much here, how to care for animals, and garden. We went on trips, Cape Cod being my favorite and did things I never would have been able to do if it wasn't for Wellspring. As well as forming lasting friendships ...Thank you for giving the tools I needed to be the person I am today. You all are amazing ❤️

This place (The staff, their modalities, the location) Saved my life. The only reason I have contact w my family is because they focused on the holistic approach. Seeing the low reviews breaks my heart. I hesitate in breaking my anonymity and protected healthcare information from when I was a teenager. A lot of people who had good results maybe don’t wanna put their name out there for a good review because they’ve gone on to bigger and better things because of Wellspring. They Deal w Trauma and complex family dynamics. They also do their best to get us kids off drugs.

I was a resident in 1992 to 1994. Wellspring helped me tremendously. Especially the Adventure Program where we would go on hikes. I found a love of nature and friendships for a lifetime. The current director, Dan Murray was my therapist and he was so gentle and caring. He cared a great deal about all of his patients. Many of us are still friends and remember him so fondly.
I also went on to Angelus House at 18 and finished my senior year of high school at the local public high school. The transition helped me gain confidence and lifelong friendships from there as well.
Thank you for the lessons. Many sunk in much later in life, but you helped plant the seeds.

Kent, CT | High Watch Recovery is an addiction and mental health treatment facility located in Kent, Connecticut. When it was established in 1939, this clinic became the world’s very first 12-step treatment center. Now, the facility strives to provide customized support to patients who are in need of addiction treatment, mental health services, or help with | Treatments Programs Payment Options | High watch saved my life. I was a 25 year old still living in my parents basement drinking and using drugs constantly and had absolutely no way out. I was without hope that I would ever live a full, happy life. It still boggles my mind how lucky I was to be sent to a place like high watch after hearing plenty of horror stories about other rehabs. Not only was I extremely comfortable and well fed there, but I was given a program of action that has turned my life around. I was raised in Simsbury, CT, but I didn’t start growing up until I got to high watch. Today I’m happy, healthy, self supporting, productive member of society and I couldn’t have done it with out that place. I will be forever grateful for my time at high watch, if you or a loved one is struggling please consider it as it worked so well for me and I know it can work for you/them!!

Highwatch provided the tough love that I needed to start my recovery. It is a very structured program that shows you the path to recovery...and they start the journey with you. I highly recommend Highwatch to those seeking recovery from drugs and alcohol.
High Watch is by far the best the choice!
I wanted to recover somewhere that treated me like an actual person and not just a 'client'. During my month long stay here I was treated with the utmost respect.
I know that coming to terms with any addiction can be very painstaking but High Watch helped to make my transition to sobriety as comfortable and 'judgement free' as possible.

MCCA new milford has helped me so much in so many aspects of my life. I personally would have never signed myself up for the IOP classes but im glad court mandated me to take them after I got pulled over drunk. Sue is such an amazing counselor and makes you feel comfortable to be able to talk about my issues and be able to work on them. I am a very stubborn person and she helped me realize that some of the things were not right. I still continue to see her once a month even after my program was done. I have recommended a few friends to go see her at MCCA because it could help them better their life and battle with issues just like it happened to me.

My class was court ordered, but it has almost been a blessing in disguise. I’ve learned so much, even though the curriculum they have to read out of and engage with the class, is a bit outdated, Alyssa and Sue still manage to bring the topics up to date to help you relate and retain. Sue, Alyssa and Jess…some of the most compassionate and understanding people you could ever ask and hope for going through this life choice of committing to better not only your health, your mental health. You’re with so many great people. Everyone conquering and learning about themselves and each other together. Hearing that you’re truly not alone, really is a powerful part of healing.
My time with MCCA may not have been by my choice, but I am grateful for the tools and personal will power it has given me to be the better version of myself. Sober.

MCCA mcdonough was my 4th rehab and probably my last chance to get sober. It was the best place for me to come to in the state I was in and honestly Jenni, Heather, and Michelle are THE best counselors I’ve ever met and worked with out of all the rehabs I’ve been to. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. And they all go above and beyond to help any client with whatever they can. They are the reason I have remained so connected to the program, as well as helping me get back on my feet and in sober living and building a community and network in recovery. I have seen some positive reviews here but I’ve also seen some negative, and it’s a shame those people didn’t have the experience I did because these counselors not only saved my life but they have changed it and me for the better. I don’t know where I would be right now without their help, guidance, and assistance, and I fully plan on doing everything in my power to stay clean so I can come back one day, share my story for their groups to show that recovery is possible, the program works, and if you allow these amazingly generous women to help you that you too can have a life beyond your wildest dreams.

North Haven, CT | APT Foundation is a program for adults located in New Haven, Connecticut. They offer a variety of services such as primary care, mental health, and substance use. Something that stands out to me is that they offer same-day care regardless of the ability to pay and then you are provided with voluntary treatment options. Their main forms of substance | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I've been in apt for 11 years, when I came I was addicted all opiate and alcohol. I haven't touched any opiates other than the methadone. I'm 11 years I haven't had a drink in seven. when I got here I was on a high dose, after about a year I weaned myself down to 39 mg. Once I got down I realized how much of my chronic pain the meds were masking so I made the decision to stay on the 39 mg. Instead of either having to go on disability or be put back on painkillers again. The apt foundation bought me the time to save myself. At the beginning I was on a really high dose and that kind of gave me the room to pretend I was still kind of high and gave me time for my brain to situate itself again. it takes about ayear for your brain chemicals to sort and for you to start feeling normal emotions again so it got me through that time. the counselors and financial people are very kind and willing to work with you and the North Haven clinic is very clean. I would recommend this place.

I've been at apt for 7 years. It has been uphill battle for me. I went up to120 mg and am tapering now. I'm at 50mg and have a plan. It's probably been the only plan that I have worked on. Life has it's own plan.

I'm still going to the APT Fondation, I been going for almost 4 months now, They have helped me a lot.. It was hard at first but when they got my dose up to the right level I haven't used any drugs except what my Dr ordered at the pharmacey.. I feel great and I can't wait to get takehome bottles so I won't have to go every day...The people that work there are very friendly Kind & Caring.. I recomended the program to a few of my friends so they can get help, But you can show someone the way it's up to them to do it.. The thing with drugs is You can't make someone change The person has to want it to change...

I was a patient there and Dr. Ong was absolutely amazing. She went well above and beyond by making sure I was placed in the Polytrauma Care Team. Dr. Ong made sure I had all my meds, when I needed someone to talk to I went to her and she listened to me and offered her insight. Dr. Ong was the best Primary Care doctor I ever had and her and nurse Mike made sure I had all my updated vaccinations. Nurse Mike made me feel welcome and very approachable, we talked about sports, about hobbies, and he was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I was a patient there from June 2024 until November 2025. I relocated but I wished I did not and now I regret it I may go back to Waterbury just so Dr. Ong, Nurse Mike, and The Polytrauma Care Team can handle all of my care. Because at the Waterbury primary care clinic and at the West Haven VA I feel that I received the best care for my Neurological, TBI, Cognitive Function, Mental Health, and, Occupational Therapy needs.

Is the place . If it was forced upon you or just not ready then may be the place but it may take you more than 1 attempt . In the beginning it’s about reducing amount of your intake substance as you increase amount of medication. That amount and that pace is unique to the individual and CCC recognizes that and also respects that . As long as you trend in proper direction and continue to show progress you have the support of your Counselor. Once stabilized they develop your treatment plan. When you have decreased and eliminated substances and have found a comfortable level of medication dosage that is when you now replaced your bad habit routine with a daily monitored stabilized routine that also is unique to the comfort level of individual discussing a wide range of topics with your assigned counselor: once trust is earned having clean random monthly tests you don’t have to be at the facility unless you chose to and you can begin to take home monitored medication to responsibly proceed with your outpatient program. Your counselor will encourage the timing the is best to decrease at the pace that works for you until you are done and substance free. So much better than 30 day, 90 day ,12 month 0r any predetermined length of time programs because every person is unique whether they feel confident they can do it in a year, 3 yrs, 5 , 10 or stay with this support system as a new part of life what is important is that new life is what you WANTED to achieve and join the team of success stories! In most other reviews I agree that it is about money for the center , but what business , paying their employees ,is not about making money to stay afloat? Also not all counselors are ex addicts that have felt & know exactly what & how we feel, but we can open up & let them learn about the uncontrollable disease & struggles of how our mind works!

I have never had a bad experience at Sharon Hospital. The nurses there help in any way they can with a smile. Dr Soucier is so nice and spends time with you and explains everything in a way you understand.

Spent an unfortunate evening here when my daughter had appendicitis. Ultimately had to send her to a pediatric surgeon elsewhere but our nurse Xavier was absolutely world class. Everyone at the hospital was great but he in particular handled everything with patience, grace and professionalism. Thank you Xavier!

This van from Wheeler Clinic is great. They are equipped with even a heart monitor. We need more of these. I made an appointment at a doctors office that the earliest is 6 months away. There have been urgent care facilities opening up everywhere in the state. It's like the medical field is getting ready for a major health problem. The nurses can read a major amount of my health records and even re-ordered my vitamins that I didn't even know I had a script for. Just saying thanks.
June 2025. Wheeler has a care management program to help clients with extra care needs. Helping book appointments, housing, food, shelter, help finding outside doctors like specialists that your primary can give you referrals to, coordinate rides and more. I will share more as I learn more. Be well.

I cannot say enough positive things about Wheeler Clinic. I was seen the same day for intake and the next day by a therapist who I absolutely love. I’m seeing a PCP within 1 week of intake. The staff is friendly, supportive and efficient, never have to wait for appointments, they always answer the phone. This place is truly a god sent to me and I will forever be grateful.
