MCCA new milford has helped me so much in so many aspects of my life. I personally would have never signed myself up for the IOP classes but im glad court mandated me to take them after I got pulled over drunk. Sue is such an amazing counselor and makes you feel comfortable to be able to talk about my issues and be able to work on them. I am a very stubborn person and she helped me realize that some of the things were not right. I still continue to see her once a month even after my program was done. I have recommended a few friends to go see her at MCCA because it could help them better their life and battle with issues just like it happened to me.

My class was court ordered, but it has almost been a blessing in disguise. I’ve learned so much, even though the curriculum they have to read out of and engage with the class, is a bit outdated, Alyssa and Sue still manage to bring the topics up to date to help you relate and retain. Sue, Alyssa and Jess…some of the most compassionate and understanding people you could ever ask and hope for going through this life choice of committing to better not only your health, your mental health. You’re with so many great people. Everyone conquering and learning about themselves and each other together. Hearing that you’re truly not alone, really is a powerful part of healing. My time with MCCA may not have been by my choice, but I am grateful for the tools and personal will power it has given me to be the better version of myself. Sober.

Lantana Recovery, located in New Milford, Connecticut is a private drug rehab center that specializes in the treatment of addiction rehab.
This is the most amazing place for recovery. I gained such a big family here at Lantana. They have the best employees ever! Thank you Taylor, Christian, Bill, Ralf, Bosna, Kat and Mark. You all inspired me to do my very best and to make the best decisions to continue my recovery. Plus I loved my woman's sober house. It was super clean and very homey. I loved my house managers Michelle and Jessica! It means the world to me that I had all of you and all of my new friends that I made there. We did so many fun things, hiking, working out at the gym, playing pickle ball, and a haunted attraction. Therapy sessions also were such a great help and of course a doctor who knew about to prescribe us the meds that were best for ourselves. It really helped me alot. I will really miss going to all the meetings we had at night and group time during the day. I will most all of you at Lantana. Keep it up! Love you all

This program and staff saved my son’s life. They are kind and compassionate and treated us with respect. Addiction is a powerful disease and cannot be battled alone. It takes an army and Lantana has built a great force to help families with that battle. We could not be more grateful for Mark, Mike, Christian and the entire team. In addition to choosing sobriety every day, I hope my son learns the importance of giving back. No one understands this disease more than those that live it. 💙💚

I've been with NMHBH for(maybe) 20 years now. I've seen 3 women counselors. I literally walked right out in the middle of each session. One woman was constantly late. She would go to her office and spend even more time. Eventually, I was called in and ONLY had 10-15 minutes left to talk. All the while, she was putzing at her desk with her back towards me. Another counselor, I was explaining how I feel with the physical aspects of having anxiety and panic attacks. To me it is physical. So, when I mentioned all this to her, TRUE STORY!!!...AND I QUOTE...(with a tick of the tongue)she replies, "Oh! I don't believe that!!" I was in complete shock 🤯! I gave the counselor a piece of my mind and stormed out of the office. I thought counselors are supposed to be sympathetic. 🤔 Hmmm?? Listens well and has GOOD advice to give that will certainly help with your everyday difficult situations, troubles, uncertainties etc. I received no 😣 helpful feedback. I don't seem to get along with any female counselors or women in general. I'm still a patient at NMHBH. Now I only go every 3 months just to check in & review my medications. This is only MY experience. Perhaps you'll find a counselor for yourself & hopefully be able to establish a relationship that is detrimental to your well-being. Thank you for your time. Mz. Murphy

High Watch Recovery is an addiction and mental health treatment facility located in Kent, Connecticut. High watch saved my life. I was a 25 year old still living in my parents basement drinking and using drugs constantly and had absolutely no way out. I was without hope that I would ever live a full, happy life. It still boggles my mind how lucky I was to be sent to a place like high watch after hearing plenty of horror stories about other rehabs. Not only was I extremely comfortable and well fed there, but I was given a program of action that has turned my life around. I was raised in Simsbury, CT, but I didn’t start growing up until I got to high watch. Today I’m happy, healthy, self supporting, productive member of society and I couldn’t have done it with out that place. I will be forever grateful for my time at high watch, if you or a loved one is struggling please consider it as it worked so well for me and I know it can work for you/them!!

Highwatch provided the tough love that I needed to start my recovery. It is a very structured program that shows you the path to recovery...and they start the journey with you. I highly recommend Highwatch to those seeking recovery from drugs and alcohol.

High Watch is by far the best the choice! I wanted to recover somewhere that treated me like an actual person and not just a 'client'. During my month long stay here I was treated with the utmost respect. I know that coming to terms with any addiction can be very painstaking but High Watch helped to make my transition to sobriety as comfortable and 'judgement free' as possible.

Located in Hartford, Connecticut, Newport Academy is an alcohol and drug rehab program that offers addiction treatment services to men and women struggling with addiction. Newport was such a helpful and worth it choice for my recovery. I was provided with great care no matter the time of day or night. My family therapist moe, helped my parent and I start to grow a relationship I never thought id have. My CC's were amazing people! Its really hard to go into residential knowing you wont be home for a long time, but all of my staff made it so much easier and fun. It makes a big difference when your staff and treatment team can have fun and want to be there with all of you so thank you guys for that! The food i will say i struggled with. It wasn't the best tasting or most diverse menu but some days it was pretty good. All of the teachers at Newport are amazing. They make learning fun and relaxed while also still encouraging you to get your work done. I was scared to go to residential but Newport was such a great experience for me and has helped me through things I thought I couldn't even ever live with. I would definitely recommend Newport to any adolescent or family looking to find healthy and helpful treatment with mental health.

Genuinely a great experience. I received a lot of the help I’ve needed for years. The family therapy was very helpful with Gloria in creating a better communication system between me and my parents so far. The food was good when Ben made it, but it wasn’t the most balanced. Overall, the living space and treatment team was great and I hope you decide to send your adolescent here.

My experience was absolutely amazing. I was in the Mustang pod, October 25 (2023) - January 7 (2024). I was previously at a rehab in Minnesota and it was a unanimous decision that I needed more treatment. From the very first day I got there everyone was so welcoming, kind and accepting. I have severe allergies to egg and peanut so that also gives me really bad food anxiety. The nutritionist there was so so helpful and made sure I always had a fulfilling meal, from Breakfast to evening snack to the food I have to eat before breakfast (meds). Since I was in the substance abuse pod, we were able to go off site to NA/AA meetings. That helped me immensely. Kayla and Lisa the counselors for this pod are literally heaven sent. I love them so much and never made anything I talked about feel embarrassing or stupid. All the activities we had throughout the day like Gong, Equine, Music therapy, Tea making, Yoga, Gym, Nutrition, Adventure (S/O J.D), Art, Alumni, MMA (Love Vince, he's awesome.), and others I probably forgot to mention. For school, the teachers I had helped me a lot and made sure I was caught up and beyond where I needed to be in order to pass my sophomore year. (Ayeeee shout out Chris) There was quite a bit of drama, but nothing intolerable. The only thing I really disliked was how immature some of the staff was, making some people in my house (Dove) feel invalidated etc. That obviously isn't something that changed how my entire experience was but i was also one of those people they didn't 'like' for a little bit. I think they need to be more mindful when choosing who to hire. When we just have chill time in between activities, the CC's were so fun and easy to talk to. They all had such a huge impact on my stay. And the cooks!!! Holy crap. They kept me feeling included 3x a day every single day. When we had continental breakfast, they would make me egg free muffins, or the French toast bake egg free. And when it was something I just didn't like, I was able to eat a Sun butter and Jelly, Pasta, or cereal. I never went to bed or woke up hungry, unlike my other experience elsewhere. Overall it was such an eye opening experience and forever changed my life for the better. Also they did an amazing job administrating my Vivitrol injection monthly. One of the CC'S would go in there with me and hold my hand and talk to me. I'm sober to this day, (2 years coming up!!) Reading these reviews makes me upset, because in these programs you have to want to get better. You have to try and if you don't you're going to have a bad experience. It sucks at first, I would literally cry every week before, during, and after family therapy, but it's not because the therapist is bad. These 1 star reviews are solely personal. It has nothing to do with the staff. They're simply doing their job and making sure you are putting in the work to get better. Its not supposed to be fun. But if you put the hard stuff aside and focus on petting the horses, or making your tea bags when it's that time, you will find it to be tolerable. A good attitude = good outcomes. ANYWAYS if an actual human is reading this tell everyone I said sup

MCCA mcdonough was my 4th rehab and probably my last chance to get sober. It was the best place for me to come to in the state I was in and honestly Jenni, Heather, and Michelle are THE best counselors I’ve ever met and worked with out of all the rehabs I’ve been to. They believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. And they all go above and beyond to help any client with whatever they can. They are the reason I have remained so connected to the program, as well as helping me get back on my feet and in sober living and building a community and network in recovery. I have seen some positive reviews here but I’ve also seen some negative, and it’s a shame those people didn’t have the experience I did because these counselors not only saved my life but they have changed it and me for the better. I don’t know where I would be right now without their help, guidance, and assistance, and I fully plan on doing everything in my power to stay clean so I can come back one day, share my story for their groups to show that recovery is possible, the program works, and if you allow these amazingly generous women to help you that you too can have a life beyond your wildest dreams.

I was a resident at Wellspring from 2012-2013. I successfully graduated from high school with a 3.8 GPA because of the attention and support I received from the residential and school staff. While things were not perfect, I am so grateful for my time at Wellspring. I was in and out of residential programs for 2 years prior to Wellspring for self-harming and an eating disorder. I was extremely resistant to any treatment and support and will admit that I hated Wellspring for the first 6 months of being there. My resistance was caused by a lack of trust and insecurity. After being displaced from several programs beforehand, I was reluctant to start over, I was reaching the end of my rope. Healing is not easy and I will admit that I was put on 1-to-1, level drops, lots of restorative work, and even restricted from participating in programs. I was a teenager coming from a severally neglectful household, wanting to push every boundary I could and I began to heal at Wellspring

My daughter was here Jan - may 2014, her last semester of high school and Wellspring turned her life around, She was in the early stages of recovery from an eating disorder, depression, anxiety, and the truth came out there of being an alcoholic (hid that well). She lived in the adult house and was transported to Wellspring's Archbridge school. The therapists being tough on her and expression therapy helped her, along with being away from home in a very structured environment. Not only did she graduate high school, she graduated college with a 4.0 GPA. She had some slip ups along the way but nothing like she was in high school and remains sober. After being bullied in high school, home schooled by tutors, trying a boarding school in Missouri for 2 weeks and a alternative Long Island small high school, it was being at Wellspring that allowed my daughter to face head on her inner self, get off depression meds, be a college grad, we got our daughter back from spiraling out of control.

I was a patient there and Dr. Ong was absolutely amazing. She went well above and beyond by making sure I was placed in the Polytrauma Care Team. Dr. Ong made sure I had all my meds, when I needed someone to talk to I went to her and she listened to me and offered her insight. Dr. Ong was the best Primary Care doctor I ever had and her and nurse Mike made sure I had all my updated vaccinations. Nurse Mike made me feel welcome and very approachable, we talked about sports, about hobbies, and he was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I was a patient there from June 2024 until November 2025. I relocated but I wished I did not and now I regret it I may go back to Waterbury just so Dr. Ong, Nurse Mike, and The Polytrauma Care Team can handle all of my care. Because at the Waterbury primary care clinic and at the West Haven VA I feel that I received the best care for my Neurological, TBI, Cognitive Function, Mental Health, and, Occupational Therapy needs.

This is absolutely the best of the best medical offices I have ever been to for medical assistance. Every person who works there is friendly, helpful, and polite. I have been a Connecticut resident most of my life, but I have lived in Pennsylvania for a few years, Texas too, and have used their VA medical centers as well. Like ALL programs in or out patient if you WANT to stop and only need the means, guidance and support to do it than this Is the place . If it was forced upon you or just not ready then may be the place but it may take you more than 1 attempt . In the beginning it’s about reducing amount of your intake substance as you increase amount of medication. That amount and that pace is unique to the individual and CCC recognizes that and also respects that . As long as you trend in proper direction and continue to show progress you have the support of your Counselor. Once stabilized they develop your treatment plan. When you have decreased and eliminated substances and have found a comfortable level of medication dosage that is when you now replaced your bad habit routine with a daily monitored stabilized routine that also is unique to the comfort level of individual discussing a wide range of topics with your assigned counselor: once trust is earned having clean random monthly tests you don’t have to be at the facility unless you chose to and you can begin to take home monitored medication to responsibly proceed with your outpatient program. Your counselor will encourage the timing the is best to decrease at the pace that works for you until you are done and substance free. So much better than 30 day, 90 day ,12 month 0r any predetermined length of time programs because every person is unique whether they feel confident they can do it in a year, 3 yrs, 5 , 10 or stay with this support system as a new part of life what is important is that new life is what you WANTED to achieve and join the team of success stories! In most other reviews I agree that it is about money for the center , but what business , paying their employees ,is not about making money to stay afloat? Also not all counselors are ex addicts that have felt & know exactly what & how we feel, but we can open up & let them learn about the uncontrollable disease & struggles of how our mind works!

Have been a patient here for multiple years. Maria went out of her way multiple times to help me; as well as my current counselor Nicole. If you comply with their program it can be life changing. Please disregard negative comments. Their nurses-June,Vicki,Jim. Etc are awesome, encouraging, and professional. Recovery is difficult but the staff here is great.

Spent an unfortunate evening here when my daughter had appendicitis. Ultimately had to send her to a pediatric surgeon elsewhere but our nurse Xavier was absolutely world class. Everyone at the hospital was great but he in particular handled everything with patience, grace and professionalism. Thank you Xavier!

I went to the PROS program for about 3 years. It was extremely helpful in teaching me coping skills for dealing with my social and general anxiety disorder. After graduating from the PROS program, I was enrolled in the substance use program at this location. Dr. Stumacher helped me to slowly taper down off of my suboxone script when no other doctor would help me do so. I'm now 4 years clean and sober and now I work at Cove Care Center as a Care Manager. I can say from both sides my experience has been excellent at Cove Care Center.

I really love our therapist she has been so good. I see other people leaving bad reviews but they do the best they can and they actually want to help, sometimes you have to meet people halfway. They have listened to all my concerns and tried to accommodate them as much as possible, they also have a really good children’s program. They actually care about the kids
