I had the privilege of working with Mario Cocozza as my recovery coach, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. Mario meets you where you are — no judgment, no scripts, just genuine care and real accountability. He checked in consistently, celebrated the wins, and helped me stay grounded through big life transitions.
What sets Mario apart is that he actually walks alongside you; he’s invested in your success as a person, not just a client. My recovery is stronger because of the work we did together. If you’re considering Mountainside and get the chance to work with Mario, take it.

Mario has been my sober coach for a couple months now and has been a great influence on my sobriety. Between months 7 and 8 I came close to a relapse and soon thereafter he became my sober coach. He carried me thru some very difficult times, losing both my grandparents in the span of two days, alongside a breakup and he was there to support me thru it the whole way. Checking in on me has been incredibly helpful. Encouraging me to go to AA meetings regularly, helping me get employment. He is truly dedicated to helping other people stay sober and it’s very clear he’s passionate about what he does. He always makes you feel seen, heard, validated and understood. I’ve never once felt judged or shamed by him, even when I was struggling. He truly understands what we’re going thru and it shows that he cares about his clients immensely.

My 15 yr old son just came home after spending 2 months at Newport in Connecticut.
Prior to Newport , our family was at its lowest point. My son was hurting on the inside but the only way he could express it was violence towards himself or Us his parents. I knew the root was hurt because he experienced a lot of childhood trauma due to me being a severe alcoholic from the time he was born until I got sober when he was 10yrs old. After getting sober and healthy for myself, I tried it all to help him, therapy, psychiatrist, church. He continued to get worse. I finally found Newport and prayed a residential treatment program might help us.
It did!!!! Newport exceeded my expectations. I was skeptical at first after reading other google reviews but my experience was amazing. They didn’t just provide the tools and therapy and psychiatric help my son needed, They also provided all of that for us as his parents as well. It was an all around family therapy that I didn’t realize we desperately needed. They told me from the jump if I put in the work while my son was residing in their program putting in the work that’s when we would see a difference. So I did it I showed up virtually to every family therapy session. I also got one on one parent therapy sessions. These parent therapy sessions were a game changer. I learned how to parent differently. I learned how to speak to my son. I learned about his diagnosis.. Every child is different, but I grew up that there was only one way to parent and I was wrong! Since my son’s been home, he’s thriving. He’s going to his group therapy every single day in an Outpatient therapy that Newport helped us find in our area before being discharged.
We love each other, and we speak to each other with respect. I actually never thought that my son and his stepfather would ever have a healthy relationship and their relationship seems better than my own with my son. It has blown me away and the staff At Newport, not only exceeding my expectation, but saved my family. I hope whoever reading this knows I’m not blowing smoke. I am a real person with a real family that desperately needed help and when I sent my son to Newport and I followed all their instructions we got more help than I ever expected. I’m bad at explaining in words exactly what they did for us, but I encourage you to pray about it if your child is going through something and I also want to assure you, my son was safe and he came home happy and healthy for the first time in his life.

She came into our lives when my 32 year old pregnant daughter was struggling with addiction and felt lost. It was later in the day when I reached out for help, but without any hesitation, Christina answered the call and told me she was going to be there. True to her word, she showed up with compassion, kindness, and hope.
Christina came with a recovery journey chart that immediately built trust with my daughter. She took the time to sit down with her, create a personalized recovery plan, and show her that recovery was possible. From the very beginning, Christina treated my daughter with respect and dignity. This facility is usually mandated by court order in most cases clients are involuntarily participating in a program that will help them with their Mental Health issues with anger and any substance abuse if applicable. I would like to say due to the new Fresh Faces and Lively Souls mcaa is making a comeback. I highly recommended and the administration is top tier. Even though this establishment has been in this community for many years the percentage of Rehabilitation is tremendously low throughout the community of Waterbury and Statewide. Thus we are referring to less than 10% of clients actually have success rates. However hope should not be given up and MCCA should be given another opportunity because they are trying their best to make a dreadful experience into a positive one. Shout outs to the director and Jackie who has been at the establishment for over three decades.

Bethlehem, CT | In the woodlands of the Southwestern Connecticut city of Bethlehem is the behavioral health treatment facility, Wellspring. You'll find a structured curriculum here that will help you find renewed fulf | Treatments Programs Payment Options | a beautiful and nurturing environment with staff that has changed many lives.
having had experience with a multitude of treatment facilities, Wellspring is like no other place. it offers stability and sanctuary for the residence there. treatment is an uncomfortable, confronting, and sometimes painful process, but those are the hills one climbs when healing.
Wellspring challenges the residents to step up as members of a community and be accountable for how their actions impact those around them. the plant & animal program there offers the residents a chance to pour love into other living creatures, helping mirror the love they are capable of pouring into themselves.
There are many challenges at any treatment facility, but I truly believe that Wellspring navigates those challenges better than most places. Not everyone leaves healed, for many its just the beginning of their journey. Many of the girls I was there with continued to struggle upon leaving, but we all reflect on what we learned at Wellspring with love and appreciation. It may not be for everyone but that doesn't discount the healing it has offered to countless families.
No place is perfect but my family and I will forever be grateful for Wellspring.

I highly recommend the residential Adolescent Intensive Program (AIP) at Wellspring CT to anyone looking for a healing, loving, intentional program focused on helping teenage females recover from -- or at least cope with -- anxiety, depression, and trauma.
I'll start by saying I'm a parent, not a resident, but I checked with my daughter (P.) and she agrees with everything I say in this review.
P. has struggled for years with depression and anxiety, and we tried various other programs before Wellspring. None of the other programs we checked out worked for us or for P. We have been very wary of residential programs because of everything we're read about the troubled teen industry (TTI). The difference between Wellspring and other programs lies in the genuine care provided by Wellspring staff, combined with a peaceful and beautiful living environment in which residents are given time and space to rediscover some joy in the world.
Key to all of this are the wonderful people who work with the residents. The director of Wellspring AIP, Joe Mancione, sets the tone for the entire program. He clearly genuinely cares for the residents he's working with. You have absolutely no sense that Joe or his team are in it for the money (unlike so many other programs we considered). P. has worked with a bunch of therapists, but we've never seen anyone come close to Joee in terms of connection, insight, and ability. His ability to lovingly challenge negative thoughts and emotions is breathtaking to observe, and P. truly flourished under his care.
Every staff member working with Joe in the program was honestly wonderful: gentle, caring, real. The residents live together in a big old farmhouse, surrounded by beautiful grounds. They cook together, clean, take responsibility for caring for farm animals (goats, chickens, a rabbit), play games, make music, meditate. The environment is one of calm beauty, and it was possible to watch new residents slowly come to the realization they were somewhere safe where they start to heal again.
If this all sounds a bit new-agey, I'd also say that the staff are all highly trained and very intentional in the environment they create. They really do know what they are doing.
If, like us, you despaired of ever finding a residential program that is genuinely caring and healing, take a look at Wellspring. P. and I are so happy that we did!

I was here from 1992-1994, wellspring made me feel safe and cared for, my therapist Joe B was amazing, so caring and understanding, and the staff specifically Heather and Andy were like role models for many of us...I learned so much here, how to care for animals, and garden. We went on trips, Cape Cod being my favorite and did things I never would have been able to do if it wasn't for Wellspring. As well as forming lasting friendships ...Thank you for giving the tools I needed to be the person I am today. You all are amazing ❤️

IOL has been there for me when I was at rock bottom. My first time there in December 2023 was ok, the staff was kind except for one tech from the adult unit... When I went back last December, I ended up staying for Christmas, and the staff did their best to make us happy with gifts, games, etc. I stayed for almost a month and started becoming myself again with help from my favourite tech and my favorite nurses. This was the first place that actually treated me like a human being while being in a psych facility. Most of the staff were still there from the first time and they had a better understanding with what was going on. I was so happy they remembered what had helped me last time.

Bristol, CT | The Bristol Hospital Counseling Center operates a behavioral health department that specializes in providing drug rehab counseling services for adults in Bristol, Connecticut. These folks tend to need addiction treatment and help with complex mental health disorders. Treatment is offered through general and intensive outpatient programs. Bristol He | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Staff is friendly, patient, willing to listen, and quite professional, yet also fairly relaxed and casual. The building itself is quite basic, and the layout is a bit odd, as I had to be guided quite a ways from the lobby to a small room for my intake appointment. Not really a big deal, and not the fault of the staff at all; they're just making the best of the weird layout.
They clearly make an effort to keep the place clean as well, though I saw a few small tables that were covered in paperwork and other such things in one room. Didn't see any obvious dust, dirt, or garbage, so it's likely just one instance of mild clutter.
Giving 4 stars for treatment effectiveness as I haven't actually begun treatment yet, though they are moving it along as quickly and thoroughly as they can. My intake was yesterday, and med management has already been approved. Just got the call a few minutes ago. This shows how dedicated they are in providing the necessary care to those who need it.

I was very happy to have learned of this establishment. Many insurances are accepted like Medicaid and Medicare, although certain counselors accept certain insurances. The scheduling coordinators are very friendly and work with you to receive the help you need. It is also worth noting that services are offered for kids and even toddlers, with referalls offered as well.
