Fremont Hospital is a 148 bed psychiatric hospital in Fremont, California, about an hour from Union Square in San Francisco. The hospital has inpatient and outpatient programs for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors with psychiatric and substance use disorders. The hospital accepts insurance from most carriers, including Medicare, Medicaid,
My mom was admitted involuntarily to the hospital for psychosis. She came back like her usual self. I'll preface this that I don't know of many patients who want to be admitted to a hospital--I can only share my experience for those who were worried by the reviews. The case manager, Estella was very communicative and answered all our questions every 2 days. She was able to accept calls as well. In order to talk to the patient, you'll need them to share a 4 digit code with you via call--which is a little tricky depending on the patient's state. I didn't get mine until 3 days after admission when my mom was more conscious. You'll only be able to visit every other day for 45 minutes during lunch. This is strictly so you can talk to each other, you basically cannot give them anything substantial, they are strict with what you can bring in to make sure no one harms themselves or others. For tips if you are a caretaker, this is what helped my family: 1. Prep questions, once they call you, they will be as thorough as possible and answer as many things as they are legally allowed to. 2. Let your loved one know to cooperate-they are trying to find out the right doses and timing for them. Finding it our sooner can help them leave that much quicker. 3. Let them know of any dietary restrictions and communication preferences like language barriers. My mom can speak some English, but for more complex topics, a translator was needed. Overall, the experience was good, not that I had much control whether or not to admit her to the hospital. It did help knowing that it didn't fit the original mental hospital stigma I had. Everyone was kind and cared about patient safety.

Went in for mental health issues. I don’t think anyone’s happy to be 5150’d or 5250’d, but I can say that the treatment was effective and I left feeling much improved. Facilities were kept clean and food was decent. I’ve had worse experiences. Staff were friendly, attentive, and understanding. Thank you for your help!

Been coming here for a long, long time Through my recovery I have had many counselors some better than others funny how things happen my husband transferred to Medmark from BAART in Oakland crazy we both ended up on Rich’s case load { R.I.P. RICH another great counselor } so you know we both can’t have the same counselors so of course I got kicked to the curb. Best curb I got kicked to { so to speak. } which is currently Nicole Martinez, the best I’ve ever had , She definitely help me get to where I am now she goes above and beyond helped me in my life so much, I don’t even know what I’m gonna do when we goes our separate ways 😔..I wish I can take her with me. I wish I can give her 20 ⭐️’s but was only given an option of 5 ⭐️. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went to New life recovery center when I was 19 and 20 and had a really really bad habit. I’m now 14 years sober and I truly have NLR To thank for that. They would go out of their way for me in ways that I’ve never seen a recovery center go out of their waiver addicts, and it made me believe in recovery again. Although this was not my last stop on the recovery train, it was my favorite stop, and I truly cherish everybody who was there. RIP Terri She gave me so much valuable knowledge that I could never forget. The staff always made me feel like family. I just wanted to drop my review since it’s been so very long since I visited this place but I am a success story! 3% Club. They’re sober living program was also And really put my butt into gear. All I have to say is I could not have gotten clean with NLR! This place is amazing all the staff are excellent make you feel good about being there. Walking in to the gates I had so many emotions but seeing everyone smile and say hello gave me some ease. If you are looking to sleep all day and think you’re on vacation this definitely ain’t the place for you. You’re busy all day. The classes you take a lot from them Mitch and Rob man they really pump knowledge that will have like shit was it really that bad that I needed to be out there doing x y z. The chief Shilpa ABSOLUTELY AMAZING L!!! Meals amazing 5 star and she is just the sweetest. Lupe chief Shiloh’s assistant absolutely amazing!!! All the clinical techs all so cool very friendly they too started their journey with new life so they know exactly what you’re going through cause they come from the same life styles. I recommend new life too everyone in the addiction. Today I have 90 days clean by the grace of god and new life.

I had a really positive experience at New Life Recovery Center. From day one, everyone made me feel welcome and not judged. It’s a calm, supportive place where you can actually focus on getting better and figuring things out. What makes this place different is the staff. Every person I met has been through addiction themselves, so they truly get it. You’re not talking to people reading from a book. You’re talking to people who have lived it and come out the other side. That shows in the way they listen, the way they talk to you, and the patience and compassion they bring every day. The groups were helpful and real. People share honestly and support each other. The counselors and techs are down to earth and always willing to talk if you’re having a rough day. You can tell they care and want you to succeed. If you’re looking for a place where people understand recovery on a personal level and treat you with respect and kindness, I’d recommend New Life Recovery Center. It’s a solid, supportive community for anyone trying to get their life back on track.

The Summit Estate Recovery Center is outstanding in every respect. The staff is top notch, highly qualified, professional, friendly and a pleasure to work with. Client needs, both medical and otherwise, are addressed promptly and appropriately. The facility and grounds are beautiful and comfortable. Both are maintained in excellent condition. The treatment is holistic and includes nutrition, education, group and private therapy, as well as yoga, meditation, and fitness training. Summit Estates has been a lifesaver for my family. I would describe the staff, counseling services, patient commitment and facility with every superlative term in the dictionary. Our family member received inpatient treatment, PHP and IOP through Summit over the course of a year, and we owe Summit a huge debt of gratitude. The staff members are outstanding: Roshin, Judy, Jon, Annee, to name a few. Addiction is a terrible, lonely disease, and the bright spot has been availing ourselves of the support, tools and community offered by Summit. I would highly recommend Summit and wish that anyone suffering from addiction could be treated by the exceptional professionals at Summit.

The care and staff at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center - ER are phenomenal. The ER team is incredible and all very attentive. MPI is an excellent place for anyone seeking a safe, medically assisted detox from drugs or alcohol. The nurses were compassionate and attentive, the doctors were knowledgeable and supportive, and the facility was clean and well maintained. There is a structured daily schedule, but if you’re not feeling well, you’re encouraged to rest and focus on your recovery. The facility also has a phone and laptop policy, but if you have a legitimate need to use your devices, the staff is willing to work with you to find a reasonable solution. Visitation is held on Sundays, but loved ones can bring approved items for patients any day of the week, which is a thoughtful way to stay connected and supported during treatment. Overall, I had a very positive experience at MPI and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a professional, compassionate, and supportive environment to begin their recovery journey.

I was there a little more than 4 years ago. I was withdrawing from a super heavy Xanax addiction. The withdrawal was the scariest thing that I've ever been through but they used medically assisted treatment to taper me off. I went through hell and back but they almost got me through it. Luckily they knew how to treat me. They sent me to the mental health department when things got really bad and then I came back for the rest of my treatment. The groups and counselors are great and very informative and educational. The nurses on the other hand were horrible and didnt understand what was happening with me during withdrawal. I told them I was hallucinating and scared and didn't know where I was in the middle of the night but they just told me to go back to my room. I begged for help and was scared to death but they wouldn't help me. They ended up transporting me to mental health when I was blacked out and out of control. The food was really good and I loved the weekend special dinners the clients would order.

This review is for the acute rehabilitation services provided at Mission Oaks. My father recently had a fall and a stroke. Once medically stable in the hospital, he was discharged to Mission Oaks for therapy with the goal to get his independence back in his home. There are 15 beds in the unit. Consider yourself very fortunate if you or your loved one gets admitted. This facility is top notch. The staff here are professional, caring, hardworking, and exceptional at what they do. The vast majority have been here for many, many years. It's not a revolving door. They are proud of what they have created. It's the culture here. Relearning to walk (PT), grab a cup (OT), or swallow for that matter (Speech Therapy), doesn't just happen. It requires hard work by both the patient and the staff. Nurses at Good Samaritan Hospital call this place "Boot Camp". From what I have learned, rehab is most effective when started soon after a stroke. Because of this, the therapists push to get the most out of the patients when they are here. I wish I could name everyone who has helped us. It would be the entire staff. I started noting individual names, but after I hit the 20 mark, I figured I would miss someone who definitely deserved credit. Expect several hours of various types of therapy per day. Filling in the gaps are a dedicated team of nurses that make sure your loved one vitals are tracked and correct medicine administered. The nurses all are friendly and care about you or your loved one. My father at 78 years of age came here unable to walk on his own or use his left hand. Two weeks later, he's walking and using his hand. He now has the ability and confidence to get back to living a life of independence. He will have some care initially, but the goal is to minimize the amount of care he gets over time. They have a care coordinator and social worker here on the floor that will actively work out a plan for you and/or loved one. I have heard horror stories about other facilities in the area. Here you can rest easy. When it comes to absolute excellence, this is the place!

She drove me get my medication I needed and helped me get into a 90 day program I'm currently in and loving it. I should have come to palm ave a long time ago! Also Jose and Heather are fantastic staff members. Thanks palm Ave detox!

I guess I forgot to leave a comment. I want to thank the staff at Palm for putting my recovery above everything. I had an insurance issue that I could see caused a lot of problems for the staff by the amount of time I spent with Jacky and the case manager in the office. No one complained or tried to kick me out. Jeff and Jacky went the extra mile to make sure I was able to stay and receive treatment. Jose had powerful groups! Heather thanks for the outdoor walks. Jackie thanks for allowing me to talk about my defects and deepening my spirituality ( so many people forget it’s a big part of who a person is) and helping me with the plan for when I left. Jeff the boss man and the med room staff I can’t thank you all enough!! Hands down the best service I’ve received. Thank you Palm.

So, I just left Palm treatment/detox center and wanted to leave a review while it’s fresh in my mind. To begin, when I was first getting checked in, a girl was on her way out literally crying with gratitude for how much this place saved her life. You could tell how genuine and appreciative she was. Super heart warming, so that was a good start. Pros to going to Palm Ave: -The staff is great, they genuinely care and all are in recovery themselves so they’re very empathetic. -It’s small, so if you’re someone who is anxious or nervous, don’t be. If I had to guess I’d say they can only hold up to about 15-20 at most and that’s a huge positive when you’re not at your best at don’t want to be around a hundred other people. -Food was very clean, healthy, and always available. -Meds are all taken care of for you, they’ll even pick up your prescriptions and make sure you get them on time, even if you’re asleep, they’re on top of it. -There’s really only one mandatory meeting (NA/AA) but several groups which are optional that I found really helpful and well led. -They don’t press you on where or when you need to be somewhere like other treatment centers do. If you need to sleep- you can sleep. Special shout out to Christian (who helped with meds, he always has good music playing and just a very positive vibe). Also, Tree. I spent ten minutes talking to this man and gained more perspective than I have in probably the last three years. Heather also, very chill and easy to talk to. These people really care. They’ve completely turned their lives around and some have come from really difficult pasts. It’s inspiring to hear their stories. Not to turn this into a novel but I’m just really stoked places like this exist- and free no less with medi-cal. To finish, if you’re struggling at all, just go for a few days. I only stayed a few days bc I had previously detoxed in a hospital but some stay much longer- the choice is yours. Thank you to everyone at Palm Ave. I won’t forget it.

My dad underwent a transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) at the Palo Alto VA, and we could not be more grateful for the care we received. We came from out of town because he could not receive the care through our local VA, so we had to travel to this hospital for the care he needed, and we couldn’t be more happy with the care he received - across the board. From the moment we checked in at the Fisher House, we were met with kindness, warmth and incredible support. The staff made us feel welcome and gave me a comfortable place to stay during what was a stressful and emotional time. Having the Fisher House available to us made such a difference and we are incredibly thankful for everyone who makes that possible. Our experience at the Palo Alto VA was equally exceptional. From the attention in the weeks prior leading up to his procedure Donna on the Cardiology team kept us up to date and informed about everything. She is such a gift to the patients and their families. Then from check-in, to pre-op through the procedure and all the way to discharge, every person we encountered was professional, compassionate, patient and genuinely caring. We felt informed and supported throughout the entire process, and it meant so much to know that my dad was in such good hands. The Cardiology team there is top-notch and everyone made us feel comfortable every step of the way. A special thank-you to his nurses, Tricia, Emily and Ryan in the intermediate ICU unit. They were absolutely awesome! They were kind, attentive, reassuring and took such great care of my dad. Their compassion and the way they interacted with both him and myself meant more than they probably realize. My dad also had wonderful things to say about his anesthesiologist. Unfortunately, I am terrible with names and don't remember his name, but my dad specifically mentioned how much he liked him and how comfortable he made him feel. It is easy to focus on the medical procedure itself, but what made this experience so meaningful was the humanity behind the care. The doctors, nurses, staff and Fisher House team all made an incredibly difficult situation feel a little less frightening. We are deeply thankful to everyone who cared for my dad and supported our family. Your kindness made a lasting impression on us. Thank you for everything you do for veterans and their families. We will never forget the care and kindness we experienced at the Palo Alto VA and Fisher House. The Cardiology team there went above and beyond and we just are so very grateful. Thank you Palo Alto VA!

Actually the food was amazing. The art and classes. The finance classes and the what else. Thought I wouldnt remember. I remember. There would always be extra food. and they would ask us, anyone want this, they had coffee if I remember. We had to line up at the right by the windows on my floor and then door would be unlocked we'd go in and who was the old guy the wheelchair. He was awrsome. Was it Dave ? Anyway, and milk the desk always had milk stashed back there. The tv was great I think we watched football and stuff. Yeah, and the evening snacks! They had a garden with planted something. I was eating them everytime we got to go out. Very clean always very very clean. The doctors were great. 2023 Thankyou...for a grateful veteran & now an internet influencer!

I was a patient here in the past. I got off 6 years ago. I found a drug called fentanyl. I became addicted and decided to return here to the Baart program. Tomorrow being Presidents day I found myself in fear. I wasn't sure if staff would be available for the intake process. I called the clinic number to be introduced to Thomas. 🦉He was so calming he immediately assed my needs. Updated my file set an appointment for me. I felt a lot better than before I spoke to Him. The fact that Thomas was there to answer my phone call means everything to me. I'm able to take the necessary steps to move forward. Had I called and a recording came on it would have been a whole different attitude with me during this time. A person on the other end of the line made my world a bright inviting place that I can have a part in. Moving forward on my journey of life. Thanks to the Entire Baart staff. Thank you Thomas for being there and for being who you are. T.L. D.🦋
