I went there 8-18-2011. Saved my life. They showed me compassion when I had no compassion for anyone or anything. They gave me tough love. That's what I needed or I never would have gotten sober. In August I will have 12 years sober. They gave me hope. Thank you. Update 9-2-2024 13 years sober this year. Whoop whoop. Life is good. Thank you guys so much. 14 years today. Thank you folks for being their when I was at my lowest. Updated 8-19-2025. I entered on the 18th with a holier than thou attitude, and with an attitude like that I was doomed. I had to trust the Staff to take care of me because I was no longer capable of doing it alone, and come to find out I didn't have to live like that anymore if I didn;t want to and I didn't to do it alone. Dr Sood has solved my issues with anxiety, depression and adhd. It took 13 years of seeing other drs and trying medications before I found Dr Sood in 2023. I complicated TMS treatment under Dr Sood which made my meds start working again. Then under his supervision I’ve found a medication combination that makes all of my symptoms go away! Dr Sood is a brilliant Dr and someone to takes the time to really understand at a root cause level what’s going on.

This place saved my life. It taught me how to live, showed me my strengths and showed me what it was like to have true friendships with women. I know this place isn't for every women, but it definitely was for me. I would recommend it for those who need this kind of long term gender specific treatment. I wouldn't be who I am today without it. 🥰

I had a great experience and a not so great one but the not so great was only because I was in the wrong I was keeping secrets I lied to staff to protect another girl don't keep secrets do the right thing always and you'll succeed idk about the newer staff but the ones who have been there awhile and the ones who have moved on are all amazing women who would do anything for you if you just let them in. Love you all I wouldn't change a thing I've learned from you women thank you for being you. And the on behalf of my daughter who recently passed away she loved you guys and always talked about you

My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. The program will work for you if your honest with yourself and do the work. Good luck and god bless!

When you are ready, you are ready. I did three rehabs in the span of three summers and I’ve been sober a year and a half since going to the Independence Center. The ENTIRE staff wass genuinely interested in my recovery. Of course it’s up to me how honest I want to be with my counselor, Chaplin and myself (and God), but their unwavering encouragement doesn’t hurt and it didn’t. The facility is much better than others I’ve been to in Nebraska and they keep the distracting extracurricular horseplay to minimum. They have a great culture and alumni in the A.A. and Lincoln communities.

I have struggled with alcohol for years. At Valley Hope, I realized I was among patients with less than 60 days sobriety. They were just like me. It made me feel comfortable. Some of the staff are in recovery so they could also identify with my own problems. I was treated as an individual and as an adult; with compassion and respect. Some of the patients are in recovery for a second or third time. If they have been somewhere else, they rate the experience at Valley Hope as their best. The food and accommodations were fine. You will get out of it what you put into it. I learned everyone's name. I went to Chapel and AA/NA meetings and participated in voluntary group activities. "Give it all you've got!"

I was a patient at Valley Hope for the month of February 2026. Valley Hope is a very caring center. The counselors all have a strong background in addiction recovery. The staff, from the nurses to the kitchen to the facilities workers truly care about every patient. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing help recovering from alcohol or narcotics addiction.

I was recently hospitalized for a relatively minor medical condition. The company I work for has an arduous process for returning to work after being laid off for medical reasons. I desperately needed to be seen on short notice so that I could return to work. The staff at the Lincoln V.A. worked with me diligently. My primary care physician, Sasha Grantski, went above and beyond her normal duties to "squeeze" me in for an appointment. Thanks to her and the Lincoln V.A. staff, I am back to work. I had the best experience at Blue Valley. The staff is amazing and has always stuck by me...even when I was going through horrible times. Openly admitted myself on my accord, thinking I could leave any time if I didn't like it. Was skeptical at first about addiction counselling, but after two sessions, I learned more about myself than I possibly could with any other counselors I've seen in the past. The staff is courteous, respectful, caring, and most of all, passionate. If you want to get help, and get better, this place is where it's at.

This organization does wonderful things in peoples lives!! They help the homeless, addicts, alcoholics, and downtrodden recharge their lives. They support, counsel, evangelize and assist in re-establishing into the community. Many great testimonies of lives renewed by the residents who have been here. I brought them a load of food products to help with the daily meals.
