13 years sober this year. Whoop whoop. Life is good. Thank you guys so much.
14 years today. Thank you folks for being their when I was at my lowest. Updated 8-19-2025. I entered on the 18th with a holier than thou attitude, and with an attitude like that I was doomed. I had to trust the Staff to take care of me because I was no longer capable of doing it alone, and come to find out I didn't have to live like that anymore if I didn;t want to and I didn't to do it alone. Thank you.

AI Rehab House didn’t feel like some cold, clinical place — it felt like a space built for real change. The team wasn’t just doing a job — they actually cared and paid attention to who I was beneath all the mess. They met me where I was at and helped me rise from there. It was more than just detox — it was about rewiring how I think, how I live. Every convo, every session felt intentional. They gave me the tools, but more importantly, they helped me believe I could use them. That place sparked something deep. Still carrying it with me.

AI Rehab House is where rock bottom turns into real change. You roll up feelin’ drained, maybe doubting if anything can help — and they prove you wrong in the best way. The crew here knows how to handle detox like clockwork, keepin’ you stable, safe, and as comfortable as it gets when your body’s goin’ through it. No judgment, no lectures — just straight-up care. What makes this place hit different? It’s the attention to you. They’re not pushing some cookie-cutter program — they actually tailor the whole process to what you need. Therapy sessions get raw, but they guide you through without making it weird. It’s real healing, with real people, in a place that finally feels like a fresh start. AI Rehab House isn’t just treatment — it’s the first time in a while you feel like you’re finally back in control.

I had tried to get sober before and had just got out of prison. I promised myself I was going to stay clean and live a good life. Within 6 months of leaving prison the thoughts of using were strong. I started drinking and looking for ways to get drugs. I knew I needed help or I was going to go down the same path I promised never to go down again. When I called the Bridge there was not any beds available at the time, I told them my situation and told them I really needed to get help or I am not sure I would be brave enough to make this phone call again. They allowed me to sleep in a counseling room temporarily until a bed opened. It is not easy living with a bunch of women and being told what to do, but if you are looking for people who really care and what you to succeed then the Bridge is an excelent choice. For any body who gives the Bridge a bad review.....I am not sure what you did, but you were probably in the wrong trying to get away with something you shouldn't have been.

I feel like i should definitely write a post, I hope more alumni will do the same. For me the experience i had at the bridge was amazing. It's not easy living with that many women! However when it comes to the staff i believe they really do care about the people that come in. I read some of the other reviews and was shocked to see that they had that kind of experience. I don't know their situation so i won't comment on that. When I went to the bridge i was ready to change and although i might have had a few setbacks i really felt supported and cared about while i was there. It's not going to be easy it's a treatment facility there's going to be some bumps in the road.

This is a wonderful drug and alcohol treatment center for women and children. The bridge has been around for a long time in Hastings and has been located in several areas currently they are housed in a older building that I believe used to be a nursing home. It needs a lot of updates and TLC that because the bridge is funding doesn't allow it it stands as is. The bridge has been a great success rate and wonderful caring staff during and after care.

My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. The program will work for you if your honest with yourself and do the work. Good luck and god bless!

When you are ready, you are ready. I did three rehabs in the span of three summers and I’ve been sober a year and a half since going to the Independence Center.
The ENTIRE staff wass genuinely interested in my recovery. Of course it’s up to me how honest I want to be with my counselor, Chaplin and myself (and God), but their unwavering encouragement doesn’t hurt and it didn’t. The facility is much better than others I’ve been to in Nebraska and they keep the distracting extracurricular horseplay to minimum. It is a rescue mission, with overnighter's and a program for those who are called to go the "extra step" in discipleship-training. Jobs are encouraged from Day 1 -- or, at least, the search for a job.
While I attended, the counselors taught from the Bible truths and examples centered upon Christ Jesus. Some of the counselor's are former addicts with good testimonies -- testimonies full of hope and promise, based upon the word of God.
The place, itself, was clean and well-ordered, not demanding nor demeaning (in my opinion). Chores were expected to be completed by the clients after supper, such as sweeping and mopping.
During my overnight stay, I met a few souls who were seeking answers in a world they hardly understand, looking for a way out of the miry clay they have discovered upon their feet, holding them down to a world they wish were past, not present -- Spiritually, based upon Christ and God's word, it is designed to be a refuge from the storm of life, a place of shelter. Individuals are welcome....families, too.
One of the central passages taught at the nighttime (730) devotion was from “13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” (Mt 7:13-14 AV)
And, “24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” (Mt 7:24-27 AV)
And, “1 ¶ I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, [and] established my goings.” (Ps 40:1-2 AV)
The Way (and Who is "the Way") out of the pit was clearly illustrated by Chaplain "Hawk" -- simple and easy to understand, with no misunderstanding of the plain text and doctrine: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (Joh 14:6 AV)
