| Spirit Mountain Recovery is a private facility located in Eden, Utah. Spirit Mountain Recovery specializes in the treatment of substance abuse, dual diagnosis, alcoholism and mental health. Our philosophy is to provide guidance and support in a consistent, compassionate and non-judgmental way to provide a positive environment for healing. Where Hop | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Spirit Mountain Recovery was nothing short of a life saver for me. Before arriving, I was the kind of guy who thought he knew everything, no one could tell me anything new or how I needed to live my life. But this place gently but powerfully shifted that mindset. Through their guidance, I’ve moved from someone stuck in his ways to someone who is open, growing, and learning every single day.
My experience at Spirit Mountain was fresh and a transformation. It wasn’t just another treatment program for me, it was a complete reset for my life. The environment, the staff, and the support system created a space where I could dig deep, challenge old beliefs, and start building a better version of myself.
Most importantly, Spirit Mountain didn’t just give me the tools for sobriety, they gave me tools to grow as a man and to deepen my spiritual life. Today I’m working everyday to walk a path that’s grounded in purpose and faith, and I’m incredibly grateful for the role this recovery center played in that journey.
Thank you, Spirit Mountain Recovery

Spirit Mountain Recovery has brought joy and gratitude back into my life. I had been to seven treatment centers over the last twelve years prior to coming to SMR. It was explained to me before arriving that their style of programming is a little different than my experience in the past. It is not just a traditional 12-step program. They put in emphasis on experiential therapy that allows clients to get out in the beautiful Utah wilderness every week instead of sitting at the house day in and day out. This aspect of the program has allowed me to rediscover my passion for the outdoors and reignite the fire I had lost for hobbies such as hiking, snowboarding, pickle ball, going to the gym etc. They also give us the opportunity to meet and develop relationships with the local recovery community through going to meetings throughout the week. The staff made the experience for me during my four months I was there. Each staff member from the lowest level position all the up to the owner made themselves available at anytime when needed. It was clear that they all truly cared about each client and came always from a place of compassion and love. The staff to client relationships was unlike anything I’ve experience before in past treatment centers. Most of the staff are in recovery and majority of them are alumni of SMR, so being able to relate to them on a personal level came very easy. Honest recovery work requires a lot of vulnerability and the staff provides a very safe place for this to happen. They have been in the exact spot the clients are in during their recovery journeys so they fully understand the pain and sadness we feel in early sobriety. Lastly, SMR is not done with you when you leave the center. Between the monthly alumni meetings and calls from the staff to check-in, they really want to remain involved within our recovery journeys which allows those important relationships that were built to continue on. This is just another part of the program that separates them from others.
There will always be a special place in my heart for Spirit Mountain. I am forever grateful to this program and the people I met as a result. If you or a loved one is struggling with substance abuse, I highly recommend Spirit Mountain. You will be shown love, acceptance and compassion and will have the opportunity to build a foundation of recovery that can bring a life of peace and serenity that we loose when we are stuck in the pit of substance abuse. I wish I had found Spirit Mountain back in 2013 but am so glad I found it when I did. It changed my life and continues to better my life each and everyday.

It would be dramatic to say that Spirit Mountain Recovery saved my life, BUT they did provide the compass and leadership that lead me along the path to self discovery and healing I so desperately needed to actually begin living life. The staff are almost entirely in recovery themselves or have worked in that field for many years, and most of those in recovery (all but one FT staff member) went through Spirit Mountain. As such, they were not only qualified to light the way but have also lived the journey firsthand and so were able to easily see the pitfalls and challenges that inevitably present themselves and demonstrated daily how to navigate them effectively. All of the activities were ultimately based on learning to live a satisfying life of recovery--living with purpose and joy through connection, willing honesty, and discomfort (where growth happens) without the need for substances to alter what I am truly feeling and thinking in the moment. Being active is an important aspect of the experience at Spirit Mountain, and for me that was hugely beneficial because my additions sucked all of the pleasures of life from me, I no longer desired to do anything but feed the beast. I highly recommend considering Spirit Mountain Recovery if you desire to find out once again, or possibly for the first time, what life can and should be lived like.

In the past I haven't had the greatest experiences at clinics due to many factors. Like having too many patients and/or lack of empathy. Their intake processes were always so ridiculous. They would make u jump through 100 hoops just to start dosing. And sometimes if you didn't meet their unrealistic qualifications they would turn u away and tell u to come back another day. But Tranquility Place has put those places to shame! The intake process is easy and painless and goes by quick! They get u to dose right away. They have dr's there each morning to help get u to a comfortable dose. The staff there is beyond helpful, professional, very sweet and personable. Very passionate about what they do there and it shows. Ive never felt judged and I've been met with a lot of compassion. I check in with my counselor maybe once a week for no more than 10-20 min at a time. Groups are available but not mandatory! Each time I dose im in and out in the blink of an eye. There is never a wait time when I come in to dose. I'm finally stable and my quality of life is already improving. I was against going back on methadone for a long time. Please proofread your reviews!! Incoherent rants do not help anyone determine anything about this place, it only makes the reviewer look like an idiot who can’t even write a proper English sentence. You are doing a disservice to everyone who might really need help determining which clinic is right for them. This is a serious medical decision that people are making that could have life and death consequences so please take your reviews more seriously and re-read them for spelling and grammatical errors. Otherwise keep your incomprehensible diatribes to yourself. We will all thank you for your help keeping our Community well.

EDIT: It's been almost a year since my last review & I wanted to update it again. I love this place and & the people. Unfortunately, Jerry, who was the owner, had to sell. I met the new owner & he seemed very nice but omg the new systems they're implementing are just so awful & annoying & frustrating. Before we would come in & Susan, the receptionist, who is so sweet, kind, smart, & efficient, would get us checked in & we could literally be in & out in like 3 minutes for real. Now they make u check in on a tablet & there's a TV where they put your # when you're allowed to go back & see Jeff, (the one who gives u your dose). I hate it for a couple reasons, #1- it slows things down A LOT!!! There is always a wait now & it is no longer in & out. #2- it makes u feel like your at the DMV! Waiting for your # to be called, you're not a person, you're a # & it feels so clinical & impersonal. Now one of the things I do like & really appreciate that they've done is if u miss your counseling apt they give u a week to do a group & if u do u don't have to pay a fine. Which I really appreciate. Last Monday the while morning was going awful & all these things came up & I totally spaced & felt so bad about missing my apt but am so grateful I am able to make it up! I'm also grateful Jerry is still there & I still have him as my counselor, he is a wonderful person who u can tell really cares about everyone & never judges. & I'm also so glad Susan is there & Jeff. Jeff is the nurse who gives u your dose, who is also one of my favorite people there. He is so kind, efficient & I love coming every day & getting to see Susan & Jeff cuz they're such wonderful people & I hope they never leave!!! Diane is another staff member who has been there for years & is such an amazing person. As a matter of fact, all the staff there is amazing & I'm grateful to have such wonderful people to be there & support me in my recovery journey. So even though I really don't like the new system (& talking to others, everyone else hates it too & were kind of hoping they'll do away with it after a while when they see how much it slows things down) I will still continue with, I guess it's called True North now because of the people there.

I was committed by Twin falls county 4 times and Bannock County 1 time to State Hospital South. This was 5 times In a 3 year period. The longest they kept me was 7 weeks even though my family and I both desperately plead with the hospital and courts for more time to get things right. They are over flooded with commitments from all over the state and it's in their interest to keep people moving through even if they require more time to stabilize. Other than this 1 complaint I was always treated with the utmost respect and dignity and I am a chronic pain patient and at the time which was 2009,2010, and 2011 they worked with my home providers to keep my high dosages of opioids going while at the hospital. I realize in today's world they probably would not do the same for me but at the time if I would have been pulled off my methadone and Oxycodone it would have sent me into a further spiral so I'm very thankful that they treated this in a humane manner. I probably would have not returned so many times back to back if I just would have been given more time the first time or second time around. I hope they read this and keep this in mind when rushing patients into discharge. It would have saved the state dept of health and welfare and the courts and my insurance a lot of money to just keep me a little longer the first time. I often waited 30 days sitting in St Luke's Canyon View in Twin Falls after my commitment was official before a bed opened at SHS which just shows you how full they are always kept or was at that time period. I only imagine things have got worse now with so many people from other states moving to Idaho. I live in California now which is my home state and the hospitals here are horrible compared to in Idaho. It's been a long time since I have been in one but my best hospital memories are at State Hospital South. They have a patient library, cafe, completely separate medical clinic for health problems and we were allowed to walk outside in open grounds. They even took us on a activity to go bowling at a local bowling alley in Blackfoot. You have to remember many reviews of mental health facilities are bad but that's what you get when the population they serve are forced into the hospital by legal holds and commitments against their will. I am one of the few ex patients that see my going here as something that saved me from myself at the time. I have a lot of appreciation for the hospital.

Benchmark Behavioral Health is a residential treatment program in Woods Cross, Utah. It’s devoted to helping teenage boys between the ages of 1 | Treatments Programs Payment Options | So far our experience have been very positive. We were very impressed with the check in process and how smooth that went. We got all our questions answered before we left and were able to say goodbye feeling like our son was going to be in good hands. We got to talk to him that night which helped ease our anxiety a lot.
The only rough thing for us was we did not hear from our son for a week until we sent an email asking for contact.
Family Therapy went okay for our first Zoom session. I'm still nervous about him being so far away but I do feel like he's being taken care of and will learn good life skills needed to come home and be successful.
I am always willing to admit when I am wrong and I have been convinced that the communication was only one sided and that we were being kept from contact with our son. Come to find out it was our phone carrier blocking the unknown number the whole time. My only suggestion to calm a worried parent would be to send an email letting us know contact is trying to be made. Thank you for the help in clearing up the situation and reconnecting us. Staff went above and beyond. Thanks Alex and Zach

Thank you for caring for my son and teaching him some valuable, lifelong skills. I have no doubt in my mind he will not succeed. All the staff have been very communicative, show empathy, and are well engaged in children's treatment plans. Benchmark goes well above any facility that I have worked with. Thank you for everything!!!

Additional levels of care off | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I was very happy with the staff at Professional Services. From the beginning, I felt comfortable with my experience, and I also knew that I came to the right place, a place that offered classes/treatment that I had previously never been offered. There was an extremely helpful staff member. She helped me through the process and organized my schedule for me. Not only was she professional, but she was very relatable - I always felt comfortable with her efforts to help me on my journey to sobriety. I never felt judged in any way.
I appreciated the instructor Prime For Life classes - she was very helpful, and again, relatable to work with.
Another instructor had a great impact on me as well, instructing online classes each week. I learned so much about my addiction in a way I had never discovered before. The different phases of alcoholism were very understandable and easy for me to relate to. I was given hope that I now have the power to turn back, and to not lose the most important things in life!
