I m giving a 4 star because my therapist Rachel has done a great job helping me through hard times. The first few appointments were a little confusing and tedious. After the first few, I saw a lot of improvement in myself and had tools to help with certain issues. Only complaint is the medication side of this organization doesn t follow up or refill meds 100% on time. I fortunately made it work and came out okay but that s the main thing that needs work here. Overall I still am thankful for their help and would recommend to people struggling if it s their only option for help.

I became an established patient with HPMHC in 2019 after going through a mental health crisis. I have nothing but great things to say about them. The front desk employees and billing department were always so kind and helpful. Most importantly, I had an incredible therapist and Doctor. Tara, my therapist was always so empathetic and is such a wonderful listener. She always gave the best advice and always validated my concerns and feelings. Dr. Karen was an incredible Doctor. She listened to my concerns and was able to find the perfect plan for me and my mental health. She always made me feel safe to express any concerns and questions I had regarding my plan/treatment. She is incredibly kind. I will forever feel blessed to have had such a wonderful team that has helped me grow tremendously in so many ways, they are a big part of where I am at today. Couldn t recommend them enough!

I was fortunate enough to have Sid help me cope through a 6 year ongoing divorce where to maintain 50/50 shared custody I have had to disprove twisted truths and preponderance of evidence my former spouse was relentless at throwing at me for custody of our children over and over and over again. Because time with my children was at stake, this therapy I engaged in was much needed for the inflicted trauma that not only I was experiencing, but having to watch my children experience our on and off contact denial at no fault of our own. Sid was very empathetic and caring.

This experience isn't about this hospital. Unfortunately it's about Pawnee County Hospital.I went 3 weeks ago with shortness of breath. And the doctor told me I was dehydrated and walked out of the room and sent in the discharge nurse. I went to another hospital with a REAL DR. and they actually listened to what was wrong. They prescribed medicine that would keep my heart rate close to normal to keep me from dying. And referred me to a cardiologist who scheduled an ultrasound for the heart, stress test and monitor. But the appt days are still in the future.Speed up to today.I forgot to take my medicine this morning. But sitting in my office I didn't really notice it much. It got hard to breath sometimes but wasn't bad. Then I made the mistake of walking around the store. I walked maybe 30 yards and my heart rate SHOT UP. I went and got my medicine because I couldn't breathe then I came home to try and relax. But it kept getting worse. My body got tingly, my hands locked up. My whole body locked up. I couldn't move, talk, or do anything. My buddy called the ambulance and they took me to the ER. I have already had an ekg, blood test and xray. All normal. That's why I'm waiting on the other tests appts. But they did them all again anyways. Then the doctor comes in. This is IMPORTANT. he tells me that nothing is wrong. It's probably just a medicine I took. I told him I want another doctor. He chuckled, said there's not one. THEN WALKED OUT OF THE ROOM.I was a 19D Cavalry Scout Forward Reconnaissance Dismount Team Leader. My body is trained to get through some tough stuff. I know when something is wrong with me. After being treated like that, if it happens again I would assume die on the kitchen floor before going back there.

This place saved my life. The counselors and staff are amazing especially Dr. Phill and Erika they are 2 of the biggest impacts on my life that I have while I was there. I went into treatment planning to use as soon as I got out and Erika was my counselor and she was able to help me open my eyes and see all the underlying problems and trauma that was causing me to use and feel the way I was, and Dr. Phill teaches in such an amazing manner that everything is absorbed and I stayed completely engaged the entire time. Everyone there is so caring and supportive of you and the residents end up becoming family or atleast the ones I was in there with did for me, we are all still in contact and help eachother stay accountable and help eachother through anything we are going through. So if ur contemplating treatment this place is the best place in Kansas to go oh and the foods good too I never ate a meal I didn't enjoy the entire time I was there.

What can I say about Valley Hope? I was a participant here on March 17, 2021, and I currently work here as a Kansas Centered Peer Mentor (KCPM) and a Person-Centered Case Manager (PCCM). When I came to Valley Hope, I was coming here to get my family off of my back and then go back out there and drink after I had an Intervention. Then, something happened while there; I found hope and serenity and learned to love myself again. After long sessions with my counselor, Ruth Jurgen-Owens, she basically told me to quit smoking and actually give this program a shot and see where you are at the end of the program; if nothing has changed, then I am already going to go out there and use it anyway. Well, after doing everything I asked and giving it 110%, everything started to change immediately, and I noticed a difference in my appearance and attitude. After I completed my treatment at Valley Hope, I did the IOP and the OP on Zoom, which gave me guidance for the real-world situations that I was getting myself into. This also held me accountable for my actions for a bit longer. Now, I am going to school to become a counselor for addiction and mental health to help the next suffering addict or alcoholic.Since I have been working here, I cannot tell you the love that everyone here has, from the Alumni Coordinator Kathryn Reichenberger to the clinical staff, nursing staff, business office, and kitchen staff. I must thank Kathryn Reichenberger for everything you do for our participants after they leave inpatient treatment; you are a genuine and sweet person. Working with you and becoming close friends with you has been an honor. Never change who you are or what you do; you touch everyone you come in contact with. My next person would be my partner in crime, Kassidy, as a case manager; you have helped me out so much by showing me around and teaching me how to do this job. Thank You, Denise, for always having my back and being someone I could vent to when dealing with situations, good or bad. Last but not least, I have to say, Ruth, you will always have a special place heart; you help made me into the person I was always supposed to be and then took a chance on me to come to work for you, and I have to say it been one crazy of a ride but I have loved every second of it and will never forget you and all you have done for me and my family; so thank you to all of Valley Hope and the staff that works there.I wholeheartedly recommend Valley Hope to anyone seeking a new lease on life. The genuine care and support from staff and participants make this place unique. It is a haven where one can find support, compassion, and unwavering encouragement on the journey to recovery and self-discovery.

I'm originally from Phoenix and after taking my Grandfather to the VA and enduring the wait and poor service, I decided to just use my insurance. I was in my 60s and living in Winfield, Kansas before friends here urged me to use the VA. I have COPD so I decided to try Robert Dole. I was recently seen in the ER at the VA. I had bad edema in my legs with fluid buildup in my abdomen. I was seen immediately and the ER team ran possibly every test and procedure they could to get to the root cause. They treated me so well there. I was treated poorly about 10 years ago there, but they have definitely changed my views of them. After my visit they had already set up two Dr appointments for me and sent me home with medication. No place is perfect. I have been going here for 12 months now and I have been clean for 11months. It tooke a month to get off everything, but I have. It's been wonderful, my family is shocked and so happy how well I am doing. My kids are starting to trust me again. Everyone says I am starting to at like the old me that they haven't seen in a long time. I wish someone would have told me about this sooner. I have had some issues with the drug screens coming back positive 3 times when I have been clean and was not using. One of them got dropped because the confirmation came back negative, so that was great but the other 2 was contaminated because I haven't used one thing since 6/19/23.This was hard to deal with because How can u fix a drug screen that comes back dirty when u are clean..so I did lose my take homes for a month which sucked. But you know what It's a hell of a lot better then where I was before. I love who I am now I am working really hard on my recovery and just gotta keep doing the right thing even when things don't go ur way. If you want a change it is so able and this place has really saved my life and my relationship with my kids, and family.

As someone who was terribly frightened of starting on the path to mental health recovery, Comcare made it very easy. The workers were patient with my inexperience and my intake was a breeze. My greatest fear was that I'd be treated as an attention-seeker, or foolish for having done my research. Instead, my intake practitioner was thoughtful and receptive, and agreed with my basic coverage of things; though I am not a skeptic of therapy, it was not what I needed. Referral to a medication consultation was quick and painless, as was that appointment.Above all, everything has been immensely affordable -- and more importantly, Comcare doesn't pressure you to cough up. I've never once been made to pay in office, or even asked to. I get my bill in the mail, and pay when I am able.
