With using spravato esketamine nasal spray my insurance covered 100% of it. I've completed 5 weeks of treatment and I've noticed my depression is getting managed for the first time in 35 years and hopefully I can keep doing treatments. I recommend awakenings kc to every single person suffering from ptsd and depression. Definitely a 10/10 experience.

I'm a chronic relapser and have been to Valley Hope several times. My relapses had nothing to do with Valley Hope and the care they provided. It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. There's no treatment center that's going to keep you sober or drug free. It takes work, but at AVH they will provide a serious reboot for your future. Alec T.

I’ve been through some deeply distressing times, and your team welcomed me with open arms—like family. That kind of care and compassion is rare, and it’s been a true blessing getting to know all of you. Dr. Rosinsky, your leadership and dedication have made a meaningful impact on my journey. The support I received from the mental health team was genuine and consistent. While my experience with Primary Care did not reflect the same level of connection, I want to emphasize how grateful I am for the Behavioral Health team. Current Inpatient resident who would like to say I came with much trepidation and anxiety. All of which I was able to shed easily on account of the staff and friendly fellow residents. Not in any small part because of Kerry (think I spelled that right) in detox, because she is @$$@ ing hilarious, and made me feel a lot better. I mean, guys, it’s rehab.. ;) But this is a very good rehab. Admins listen. EDIT: It took guys.. It really took this time. I shed the $&!t colored goggles. I was here from January-2025 to August-2025, honestly it was a good experience, alot of things happend to me that were out of the staffs and in bosses power, as in other clients behavior and such, but unfortunately I did get harrased and assulted by other clients but when i stated that, action was taken immediately, they would separate the client from the other(s), and even though it may have not been far, it was better then being traumatized, these "bad" reviews have too of been caused by bad past staff or a lying child, and I was there as I was 14, I was first on the unit champions& Defenders, but maybe 1 week after, my group switched units with champions (Our sister unit) and we got renamed, but as i stayed kids came, and kids went, but I had a good experience overall, and the meals are okay, I feel like the portions should be increased a little for each unit depending on age group, everyone got the same amount, but alot of kids there would do about anything for extras, even in small amounts, I was one of them sometime but it was always 50/50 whenever I ate, I feel as bedtime is WAY too early for 13+ as its 7:00PM for bedtime, as it is healthy but it was extremely hard for me too get up in the mornings because of the time, the beds are really low on the floor if ur in building 3[unless it has been renovated by now] and in building 7, the beds are a normal height,

I was a client At TLC for at least six months and then discharged honestly for me I had a great time I have no idea these parents are talking about the one in the first photo I was there for that kid the only reason why her therapist told her no for the headphones was because they were working on headphones and then when they got unit headphones she refused to use them for the second one a hold is mandatory you cannot blame the staff they're just doing their job and if your child wouldn't have struggled then she wouldn't have so many bruises apologise but I was here for both of these kids both of these kids were in the wrong during their stay because the one that got into the hold tried to fight a staff so of course the staff has to put them in a hold because that's physical aggression and then as soon as the staff tries to put them in the hold she struggles which causes them to hold her tighter and make them stay longer the more she moves the tighter they get the girl that got bullied because of her autism she did not get bullied because of her autism she got bullied because she would cuss people out she would cuss therapist out obviously I had the same therapist so I can put this on put in that therapist was like the best therapist in the world like I have him again before that therapist left he spoke so many good things about your daughter he spoke good about your daughter even though she did so many bad things to him I'm not saying “this is the kids fault” because basically if I'm saying that I would be telling myself that same thing I'm saying that didn't help your kid and that was your objective go to another place I've been to 2 places TLC and pathways send them to another place if they don't do good especially kids in foster care the caseworker is obviously going to send them to another place if they're not doing better after discharge please this place is done so many good things for me I literally struggled in the beginning I got in so many holds in the beginning so many runways in the beginning as time progressed I got better and they finally let me out and I wasn't in a hold for like 3 months

I used to go here when i was 13/14... and for everyone who has had a bad experience placeing there child here just know as for every place it has its good and bad times. I was forchinat enough to be placed here when it had a good staff systume shout out to ,Michaelis, Doug dear, Melissa, mr Tiny, mark and meany more. I also made a tone of friends who i still keep up with to this day aswell. I had the chance learn alot about myself and my problems and left a better kid who was confident and well more behaved and I still use what I learned there to this day and I'm 30. I'm unsure how the place is doing almost 20 years later or who is working there but this place randomly popped up in my my head and i just felt the need to look it up and leave a review. Salvation Army when I went homeless after the military I didn’t know they had services for veterans like this. The KCVA helped to get into the Salvation Army. I had to stay here due to indifferences at my house. My stay was comfortable and peaceful. The other Veterans are kind. My case worker Irene was very hard on me at first lol! After I was admitted in she was kind and loved all of us. Integration was easy. Irene will help you get more % to help in your case. She is there for you. Use her and let her know how you feel. She has been working there for 15 years (KC,Kansas). What an accomplishment. There are others that work with Irene that are just as important to you. You have to do chores but they aren’t large duties. Roger will be on you. It’s good to clean your surroundings makes you feel good. Breakfast isn’t the greatest but, that will change. Yvette serves breakfast she has to have thick skin because she didn’t make the food. She has no control on what is being served. Be nice to her always and your days will go better. Lunch and Dinner are more filling. Blake is one of the cooks trying to make new desserts and new meals. There is a “suggestion box” downstairs so fill it out. They have snack later on in the night. I met Tom from Salvation Army very stand up person he is kind and cordial. They have a gym for basketball and a small workout room. The Veterans I met are my forever brothers. I will stay in touch after I leave. Thank you Salvation Army for helping me find my way.

Words are so inadequate to express the level of gratitude that I have for Taylor and the staff at MRC. Prior to meeting Taylor, I felt terrified and helpless not knowing how to help my daughter. Taylor not only took the time to speak with me and explain the need for a recovery program for her, but he came to the hospital and spoke with her personally. Sharing his story with her and his words of encouragement helped to convince her that she needed a recovery program to overcome an alcohol dependency. Taylor and MRC quite literally saved my daughter's life. For that, I am eternally grateful.

Obviously no one wants to be here, it is a psych ward. Let's get into it. Bad - the food.OMG the food sucked. The eggs at brekkie are a mystery, the snacks are the same 5 types of crackers. There is no protein and/or fat served with snacks. Dessert most lunches/dinners is fruit. Y'all, I am depressed, the least you could do is give me real dessert twice a day. I was starving 60% of the time. If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction, good luck solider. My friend who I met there can't have gluten and the lady with two missing teeth served her a fish fillet (aka gluten) on gluten free bread... -Some staff members don't seem to care and are just there for the pay check. I would say more do care though (more on that later) -The washers stink and smell like mildew and make your clothes smell like mildew. -It is loud all the time. I wish they had noise canceling headphones. Good - I had a great psych who I feel like really listened to me and my struggles. I felt like a patient to him, not just a mentally ill person. -Omg, my therapist, Langa, was AMAZING. Amy, if you are reading this, PLEASE make sure she is recognized. She had actual mini sessions with me, not just check-in's about discharge. I liked this since I was there for longer than average and discharge wasn't even on the table until my last few days. -Most of the staff were great and I felt like they cared. Normally, I would say 3/4 day staff cared while it felt like only 1.5/4 night staff cared. -We got at least 30 minutes on our cell phones a day! Most techs gave us more. A change from when I was here last time in 2021. -Lastly, many nurses were amazing, but I want to world to know how amazing nurse April is. I was on her unit for 4.5 days and I was blessed to have here working 3.5 of those days. She is kind, hilarious, honest, and trustworthy. I told her things I was too scared to tell my team since I trusted her more. Amy, again, if you are reading this, make sure April gets a cookie or something, idk but she needs to be recognized :) Overall, this place saved my life as cliché as it sounds. The days were long and boring. The weekends were even longer and more boring. However, I got stabilized enough to return to work 3 business days after discharge. I felt hope again thanks to Dr.Khan working so hard on my meds. Again, the food sucked though.

I came to Cottonwood Springs with the absolute worst heroin addiction the I think the doctor had ever seen, with the worst attitude problem possible to boot. And I came there something like 17 times. One time, Dr. Willey, the Director of the Substance Abuse Unit, kept me there for a full 30 days, refusing to release me, because he was convinced I would die of an overdose if he did. The amount of verbal abuse that poor man endured from me during those 30 days, I can never take back. And I probably WOULD HAVE died. My addiction was out of control. I was out of control. My life was unmanageable, and I had absolutely no will to live any other way, if to live at all. I was a horrible person, and I was SO horrible to the staff there...but they kept taking me back, as many times as it took. I had been an IV heroin addict for 7.5 years with no hope, who didn't even believe I'd make it to see 30. Apparently, neither did Dr. Willey, sadly. Recently, I came back to the facility to take a Continuing Education course and reconnected with them, as I am now 5 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, and 1 day clean, and a Licensed Master Addiction Counselor in the State of Kansas. I owe my life to Cottonwood Springs. And it is because of them that I want to pay it forward by helping others find recovery. (Also, this place has great food, and as someone who's been to like 7553677653 rehabs, the therapists at Cottonwood Springs REALLY know what they're doing, genuinely care, and even the techs take special care to make sure you are comfortable and you don't just feel like a number or another dollar sign to them. And they have a full actual MEDICAL staff there, so as someone with physical health issues, I felt comfortable going here without worrying I'd have to stop taking my needed medications for my other health issues. The facility is newer, clean, and really well-kept. The recreational therapist actually makes fun things for the clients to do; you don't just get shoved into the cafeteria with a bunch of craft supplies like most places. Seriously, even if Cottonwood Springs is not your first choice because "you can't smoke there anymore," they'll give you nicotine gum or patches. Decide if a cigarette is really worth your LIFE, because this is the place that is actually going to make the difference for you...make it all "click," make you "want it.") I cannot say it enough: I owe Cottonwood Springs my LIFE. Don't even think about going somewhere else. Just get in the car and drive there right now before you change your mind. They do 24 hour walk-in intakes. Take that leap of faith. They believed in me, and look where I am now. Now I believe you can do the same, whether it's for your mental health or substance abuse issues, or both. There is hope. There is help. It's on Arrapaho Drive.

Having worked closely as an Architect with the facility administrators, volunteers, and some of the medical professionals it is clear they have the wellness of the 'patients' as the primary focus. The decision to invest in the betterment of the community through the building of the facility, the staffing, and the great accommodation to help the wide range of situations that can present themselves in a detoxification environment points to the sincere effort to help those in need or dealing with the personal demons of dependency.

I go there for my suboxone and they Nurse Practioner, Carla, is amazing. Truly goes above and beyond to help people. I couldn't ask for a better place. Front desk people can be overly rude and undependable but otherwise it's a great place.

I've been a client here since 2011, and I'm so grateful. It's a life saver, but like all recovery clinics you can only get out of it what you put into it. It's easy to blame others when things go wrong, but it's almost always our fault! I had a very hard time, until I stopped arguing and followed direction! They know about recovery, all I knew was self destruction, but thought I was so smart! Now I'm doing really good. This place is great. Update: It's now called Rediscover Transitions, staff is great, doctors great! Give it a shot if you need it!
