I have known Turning Point to be a person-centered organization that offers folks, affected by substance use disorder, an opportunity to heal in and contribute to the recovery community. As a neurodivergent woman, I appreciate the self-directed nature of the center where I have been empowered to create an experience that works for me.
I have been encouraged to ask for anything I need that might be invisible to staff with a different lived experience. As a peer, member and volunteer, I have been given a voice and a seat at the table. The services are all free of charge which has been a game-changer for me as a single parent on an excruciatingly tight budget.
Turning Point has helped me remove access barriers to important resources and this has helped me to make major shifts in my life. I'm grateful for this all-pathways peer recovery center where we can grow and learn together.

Hello, my name is Todd and I would like to let you know the impact Turning point Recovery Center has had on my life. I was introduced to the center by someone who I had met at an AA meeting. I was 3 days out of prison after serving 9 years. I was filled with anxiety, fear, hopelessness, and just pure lost to this new world that I have not been living in, after coming from a world of chaos. Turning Point has allowed me to grow in so many different ways. The first and most impactful way is my sobriety. They have given me an opportunity to be myself and grow at my own pace. The guidance and thoughtfulness of the staff at the center has been amazing. When I walk into the center I feel welcomed, accepted, and most importantly I feel loved. I have never been in any place in my life where I feel that I can be myself and mostly I feel heard. Today I celebrate 8 months being clean and sober. I am also about to move into my own apartment in a few weeks. I owe Turning Point so much credit, if I had never walked into that center that day I swear to you my life would have taken a different turn. I am now a peer volunteer at the center and I am also a facilitator of some groups. I want everyone to know about Turning Point and the so many ways that it has helped a person like myself.
