This place is great, getting sober is not easy or fun and the only issue I have personally witnessed is that yes; all of thier staff cannot be in recovery or understand us addicts but they truly have made a huge effort to adapt to this new age in which you can get into a rehab basically for free, get decent if not really good food(DFD) and have the chance to.btreak old bad habits etc. Im 39 and when I first tried to get sober at 18 or so it was incredibly difficult to find a rehab that didn't cost 40K. Jail or the streets were your option so remember that these people are getting paid very little yet choose to work here because most of them do care but there are thinhs called HIPPA laws etc and so that takes a toll on certain aspects of how they have to structure thier program. This place and ann arbor will keep you sober and help you recover for better or worse.

This place was a pivotal part of my recovery journey. I was here twice, once in September 2019 and once in March 2023 (which was my last time in rehab). I’ve been to several different rehabs all over the state and I’ll say this:
Brighton isn’t the nicest facility, they don’t have the best food, but Brighton has THE BEST therapy, therapist, and THERE is where you get some of the most one-on-one time with your therapist. They give you real thoughtful work to do on your own and hold you accountable to change and doing the work if you say you really want it. Their IOP is Amazing and the sessions lead by Mo changed my life. Dudes awesome 👏
Anyway, never a fun experience but 100% would recommend.

I Was a patient here 5 years ago I started drinking at the age of 14 and got into other stuff at 19. I didn't know how to live life without a buffer Brighton gave me the tools to begin the recovery process I am still clean and sober after a horrible detox from barbiturates and Suboxone, I am thankful and grateful everyday that I made the decision to call and ask Brighton for help. Even after being shipped out to the hospital after 2 weeks they let me back in and gave me the tools and advice to start my recovery process.

I could not have had a better experience! Everyone from the moment I walked in, taken to the back and left was kind and helpful. I’m big on looking at patients outside of what a textbook says. My daughter has been sick for 3months and I was fed up with her old pediatric office not doing anything. I’m so glad I switched to Howell Pediatrics and Teen Center. I felt heard, understood and I could tell they cared for my daughter’s wellbeing. As a first time mom those three things are important. I’m thankful we have found our new pediatrician. I went to the farm and stayed for a little over 3 months. The treatment duration is determined by the therapists. The shortest duration I saw was 2 1/2 months. Longest I saw was 4 months but most do around 90 days. I had moments I really loved the farm, and others where I felt like I hated it. Their rules are really strict and you’re there for a while. However, it did work for me. It was a long journey. I got yelled at for breaking rules, for sleeping in, and absolutely resented waking up early every morning to do work duties. Definitely cried a few times. By day 50 I was like “get me the heck out of here” but had months to go. But every time I got upset, I’d sleep on it and always decided to stay. Now I’m much better. I can wake up for an actual job early without a problem. I have more self control, more friends, more support, I try to follow the rules in real life situations, try to be a good person, and have a much more rewarding life overall. The Farm is really challenging but it does actually work if you listen to them and do what they tell you to do and don’t fight it. It’s hard to follow their schedule and rules every day for so long, but it just might change your life.

I did my intake/transfer from my muskegon clinic this morning and they were so good to work with and made me comfortable which is something I was worried about. The staff was super nice and professional! I'm excited to see where this next chapter of my sober journey will take me with this facility now! You can tell that they truly care which is more than needed.. If you want to get your life back from addiction and are ready for the change then please stop in there and let them help you. The councilers & Doctor really have empathy for what people are going thru, they don't judge, and help you every step of the way. This location is beautifully laid out. The landscaping is first rate. On site are training locations for teachers as well as for students. The buildings are kept in good shape. The bathrooms and facilities are kept clean.The cafeterias are in good working order. Their sports fields are maintained well. The school is in a quiet setting away from major manufacturing, thoroughfares and commercial shopping.The only drawback I see is the sheer size of the place. Otherwise with proper monitoring of the school setting and the children themselves this school should provide a good, over all education and preparation for higher learner or skilled trades. It is a pleasure to see the wooded area close by.Some of the parking lots need work but they are not quite that deteriorated at this time. The site is well lit in the evening. It is deserted, as you would expect, at night.
