Therapist (especially) you pretty much have to go threw a few before u can find one that fits you an your comfortability. I had given up on therapy years ago due to never finding the right one. Last year in May 2024 I met my Therapist through Meridian Professional Phycological Consultants, P.C. She completely changed my life around and is still here through all my struggles. I feel for the most part all the staff are pretty laid back, I get along with all of them, it seems pretty professional to me! Of course I hate that I have to drug test twice a week and do the groups and one on one meetings because it really messes with my job and I lose a lot of hrs every week but I put myself in the position that I'm in so no one to blame but myself. It would be nice if they could work around your job schedule better when it comes to groups and the one on one meetings! That's my only complaint!!

I got a lot of support for my mental health. Very professional and they care deeply for each resident. They helped me find my self confidence and self worth. Most importantly they work as a team. I got support not just with my mental health but they provided an autism specialist who greatly improved my quality of my life. I owe Rose Hill so much to my life also the offer DBT therapy which challenged me to improve myself and receive support to reach my goals. My DBT coach Laura gave me hope to a broggter future and helped me with dealing with extreme anxiety. I totally recommend Rose Hill for mental health and people who are on the autism spectrum. Truly a wonderful opportunity to experience if you’re looking to change your life. Unlike the typical, more “hospital like” residential, Rose Hill encourages independence and helping you build skills to use in the real world. My time at Rose Hill, as a resident, has changed my life.
I would say the biggest pros are: You get to keep your phone, they don’t stop you from vaping/smoking nicotine, you can have your car there under certain circumstances, you can go out on “day passes” into the community, there are many outings on a weekly basis, you get to go grocery shopping on a weekly basis as well, and you get your own, decently spacious room.
Rose Hill has competent and caring social workers/case managers, therapists and floor staff. People you can tell that truly care.
I’d suggest Rose Hill if you want to change your life.

Rose Hill has been my home since March 2025. I am fortunate to have found them right as they began taking insurance. Their leap into the world of insurance is proof of how much they care; I have seen firsthand how dedicated they have been to making Rose Hill accessible for a greater population.
I have been supported by a wonderful team on a daily basis as I’ve moved through their program. Support staff (non-clinicians who oversee daily care in the residential buildings) are amazing. There are many who understand that this is your home, and they work to see that you are comfortable as a result. The drivers who take you to off campus appointments seem to love their jobs, and it shows as you interact with them. There is a high turnover at case manager positions, but the ones who do stay longterm are phenomenal and will always have your back. This turnover is minimal among therapists. The therapist team at Rose Hill is perhaps their best asset. There is truly someone for everyone, and from what I’ve seen, there is a near perfect process in place to match residents with a therapist upon arrival. I highly suggest asking them about their team of clinicians during the admissions process; they will likely be able to provide you with a list of people you may work with, which is unlike other larger residential facilities. I did this and was able to research their team ahead of time.
As for programming, you will get out what you put in. You could certainly skip groups, meals, appointments, activities, etc. if you wanted to — the staff can’t stop you. But I promise you that you will gain nothing from the experience if you do not engage in the community and programming on campus. The four therapeutic work groups are all run by people who have been employed at Rose Hill for a very long time; it is admirable how much these work leaders care. If you are like me and struggle with structure and consistency, this is a place that can help with that— just be open to building the willingness to do the work. The entire team will always work with you to address your specific needs.
As their Vice President of Clinical Operations tells me frequently, “you are not a math problem; you do not need to be solved.” Thankfully, this idea extends into their psychiatric treatment as well. Rose Hill understands that it is not medication alone that will help you succeed in life; it is about building life skills while finding the medication that allows you to put those skills into practice. I’ve seen many people come in lethargic and obviously overmedicated; Rose Hill seems to not keep it that way, as those people typically open up and become more vibrant and healthy during their time here. Once again, it is a result of finding the medication balance that works for them.
The living conditions are unusually clean for a mental health facility. The housekeeping team does a terrific job of keeping common areas tidy, but it is up to you to keep your bedroom that way. Bathrooms are shared with other people in your hallway but are private (they do not resemble college dorms). Phones are always allowed. As long as you stay on campus and check in once an hour, you’re mostly free to do what you’d like.
Bottom line: Rose Hill is unique. I don’t think there are many places that exist like this. If you are struggling with mental health issues and find yourself here, whether by choice, by court order, by a guardian’s mandate, etc., I view you as fortunate. There will always be frustrations and moments of upset that come up in any mental health facility, but they are minimal at Rose Hill in comparison to other facilities. The team is small and the staff cares. Get to know them, and they will get to know you. Once again, you get out what you put in.
As I move closer to discharge, I find myself feeling thankful for my time here, optimistic about the future, and in some ways, sad to leave. And while I hope to never need this intensive level of care in my life again, there is a comfort in knowing that Rose Hill exists should I ever get incredibly off track.

I've enjoyed my counciling here very professional staff. Girls up front are very nice. I like how quickly they get to me on the phone. That can agitate people. Justin Hutchenson has helped me decompress alot of stress in my life dealing with multiple deaths in my family and my own health tragedy. Thank you to the hospital, doctors, and nurses who care more about the patient than money. May God reward you for your kindness. I swear to God, people of America, you will not find a hospital that cares for you like this one. It doesn't discriminate based on your religion, color, or race. It cares for you whether you are an immigrant or a citizen, whether you have health insurance or not. They will care for you. I am writing this thank you because I lost my children at another hospital called Corwell Health Dearborn. My wife was five months pregnant when she started bleeding, so I took her to the hospital. Because of the negligence they showed my wife and children, she bled uncontrollably while they searched for health insurance for over an hour and a half. After that, they took her to the emergency room, gave her two sleeping pills, and told me to take her home. She was in pain, and the bleeding wouldn't stop. I took her home, heartbroken, wondering what would happen to my wife and children. Then I took her back to her doctor, but the nurse who was with her refused to see her, and the bleeding still hadn't stopped. I took her back to the same hospital, and when we entered, the tragedy occurred. We lost my children, and my wife is now in shock because, after ten years, I finally became pregnant, and in the end, the hospital and fate took them. I will never forgive them before God, and that is why I am so loyal to this hospital, this legendary hospital, for its compassionate treatment of patients. Thank you so much.

Took my child there TWICE and the next day I’m at ER with my child because this place CLEARLY is not equipped to properly diagnose a child when they’re sick! The longer we have been going to this location the more I feel the care has gotten worse and he is treated just like a number. NO PERSONAL CARE, follow up, waste of time taking your child here!

First off be prepared to navigate 13 stairs (9 ADA compliant)
Then prepared to use the bathroom connected to a hallway with random people walking by while you’re on the toilet. And yes, the door is fully open

Very rude. Wanted to charge me full price twice for service not completely rendered the first time. Should have been half the amount.
Also did not throughly deliver very important information in order to benefit their pockets.
Was treated by the secretary like a crap, very rude and unprofessional.
When you see the facilities, which consists of a rundown old house, you realize this is a backyard operation, and very far from modern and innovative.
Bottom line: Choose better. You deserve better.

Not recommended! When my marriage was falling apart, Diane never encouraged us to work on it together outside of her office. In fact, she told me that if I tried to talk to my husband, he would leave. The few months we were with her she sided with him on everything. That was in 2019. Recently, my daughter needed therapy services and she returned to Diane. After a few visits, she too left saying that she gave her absolutely no strategies to try on her own outside of the counseling office. She was very frustrated to say the least.
Also, Dr. Vora charges an exhorbitant rate per hour and only sees you for 10-15 minutes for med checks. One of the many reasons our insurance rates are so high.

Friends, members of my family and I have used this facility over several years. The staff has always been welcoming and thorough. The doctors assistants have always been very Pleasant. Dr Deosha Williams is an extraordinary doctor. She has a heart for each patient. She has an extraordinary sense of what’s going on with your concerns beyond the normal basis of medical learning. Most doctors are not familiar with holistic practices. She combines both traditional and holistic. She is concerned about your overall health not pumping you up with chemicals for a quick fix. Her personality and presence is always a joy. I very much appreciate doctors like her. They are few and far between.

I truly can’t say enough about how much the New Oakland Clarkston location changed my life. I came in during a crisis, and I left feeling stable, hopeful, and genuinely happy. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re greeted with open arms—there’s no judgment, just compassion, warmth, and professionalism.
I was part of the face-to-face program at 28 years old, and everything exceeded my expectations. The group therapy sessions were incredibly powerful and gave me tools I didn’t even realize I was missing. My group leader, Kailee, was with me for the majority of the program and is genuinely one of the most bubbly, kindhearted, and knowledgeable souls I’ve ever met. She created a space that was safe, supportive, and uplifting every single day.
Niki, my therapist, is truly amazing—so insightful, attentive, and caring. Dominique, the nurse, is an absolute gem—compassionate, patient, and always there when you need her. And Matt, the psychologist, didn’t waste any time helping me find the right medication and support. He took my concerns seriously and acted quickly, which made a world of difference.
The staff here truly care. It doesn’t feel like “treatment”—it feels like a community of people who love what they do and want to help you grow and heal. The food was great every day, the atmosphere was calming and structured, and they even gave us breaks for fresh air, which made a huge difference for my mental health.
This place gave me a full toolbox to take with me, and for the first time in a long time, I feel ready. But here’s the truth: you get out what you put in. If you show up, participate, and commit to the process, you will see change. This team will support you every step of the way, but you have to meet them there.
What sets New Oakland apart is that their care doesn’t stop when you walk out the door. They set you up with a real plan for continued support—and they actually follow through. I will forever be grateful for the experience I had here. This team helped me find myself again.

I recently was discharged from the PHP Face to Face program. It was an amazing program! I learned a lot of coping skills, and really felt that I was in a safe, non-judgmental facility.
I spent most of my time with Kailee. She is EXACTLY what the mental health world needs. She is so kind. She really takes the time to get to know. She challenges you, makes you get a little out of your comfort zone, and shows incredible support. I also had the pleasure of working with Martha and Dr. Harris. Both were so warm and friendly. You can tell they just want to see you feel better.
Everyone I encountered was so kind! They never made me feel bad or insecure about being there. Even the front desk ladies were amazing! The one who works check in was always in a great mood, and that helps you settle in and feel comfortable.
Overall, I highly recommend New Oakland in Clarkston if you’re in a dark patch. They will help you create an action plan to get you back to your best self! I hope I never hit a spot again where I need PHP again, but it’s great to know there’s such wonderful humans willing to help you. 10 out of 10 experience.

I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for the incredible support I received from Unison. After experiencing an accident, I had to join a program while also managing communication with the court — a very stressful time in my life. Thankfully, my consultant Chyna was with me every step of the way. She went above and beyond, offering guidance, encouragement, and all the resources I needed.

Wonderful staff. They really want to see you get better. Only downfall is that there are some patients that can be unruly or are just there to detox and not actually heal themselves. i competed the adult PHP and i couldn’t be happier about my time at new oakland! i am a healthcare provider myself and the therapists, providers, and support staff are SO genuine and kind. being in a group therapy setting was a scary thought initially but i felt that it was a very safe space to share my experiences. i also enjoyed hearing other’s experiences as it helped to remind me that we are all going through similar issues in life. the therapists even completed the worksheets along side of us and shared their experiences about their own healing journeys which was reassuring. i’ve learned and grown so much during my time here and i am very appreciative of the employees who made it happen: zach, mara, michelle, amber and everyone else. ya’ll deserve a raise LOL. thank you!!! :)
