To be honest I’m not sure why everyone hates this place, usually when you’re going to a place like this, medication and therapy will be in the question, so will other forms of help, you’re here to get mentally well, at least that’s what I came here for, I’ve been with CMH since I was 9 years old. Now 20! They have lots to offer in all honesty, I’ve been diagnosed with Consistent Depression, PTSD, ED, social anxiety, Bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder, and it’s definitely not easy to live with, some people struggle with finding the right medication for them, and that’s been me since I was 9 years old.
I’ve been on multiple medications and to no prevail unfortunately, but that isn’t the prescribers fault, some medication just generally doesn’t work for others like they do for some, we’re all different and I’m still on that journey with finding what works best with my new prescriber here, she mentioned to me that they can do blood tests here to find out what medication is compatible with YOU, And what side effects are more likely to occur, which I’ll be taking! So I definitely recommend you to do that if you’re serious about your needs.
I’m currently on 3 medications for my mental health and will be receiving a 4th, and I sure hope it helps! I’m ready to be free of dealing with my mental battles. If you’re worried about being on too many meds and think “4” is too much, don’t hesitate to let them know that and they’ll most likely find other medications that battle multiple things at once, rather than having to take much more than you’d want. But there definitely isn’t a cure all pill XD
If your psychiatrist or prescriber isn’t listening to your needs or what you’d like to be on, there is other ones within the same building, either virtually or in person. Just go and do that before quitting entirely with this mental health service dealing with medication, same goes with therapy, find other therapists before you go transferring.
I know mental health is hard and is a struggle, trust me. I’ve lived that route my entire life, but just try your best to not give up.. and try to put faith and hope into your treatments and who you’re working with to battle with that you go through. I know not everyone’s experience will be the same as mine, but I’ve had some prescribers and therapists I absolutely hated from here, and that’s why I switched to different ones within the same building and finally found ones who I feel listen to me.
I’d rate this place 5 stars for never giving up on me, and accepting me back when I gave up on them, they’ll try their best to listen to you, and will do what they can to help you, giving you resources and recommendations, etc So hopefully your experience here won’t be too bad.
And if you feel they’re putting you on too much medication, or are doing something you don’t quite feel comfortable with, just let them know that, and if you’re a minor explain that to your parent or guardian! So that you can both discuss that to the person you’re seeing. And hopefully all goes well.
And like I said this is just my experience and I cannot speak on the behalf of others, but I do have faith that you’ll get the treatment you need, just don’t forget to tell them how you’re truly feeling.
Ps, Best of wishes to current you and future you! You’re here for a reason, don’t waste that💕

The mind is subjective and so is therapy, i believe if you have a bad experience you simply try somewhere else which may practice a different field of psychology that could help more. Therapist are a guide like a GPS, but I feel like too many people expect them to take the wheel and just fix their problems for them. I had a great experience and have been able to get myself not only in college but running again and I would feel comfortable going back if need be. Therapist were great and that’s all that matters to me!

Just checking in on you guys. Thank You for all your help and the tools to stay clean. I left about four years ago and was at 120 . After about 45 days of going thru withdrawals I finally gave in to Suboxone. My next step is the shot. Hi Bill and glad to see you're still here. TY for always being cool and I'll never forget you. I think I was 518 and can only imagine what number you're on today!!
Addicts do recover when they choose to!!!! Ty QBH for the tools to stay clean by making me go to group and therapy 🙌. Which made me start going to NA meetings. I believe in early recovery you gotta do 90/90. 90 meetings in 90 days to start change 😉😎. Remember to give yourself a break and get into NA to start working the steps of NA. The books how and why were my best tools. You must have a sponsor to work the steps. You can't do the steps alone because how do you know if you're doing them right 👍 and you'll have a friend forever.

I wasn't a typical addict I guess. I wasn't even using pills to get high. I took them just to feel normal and not go into WD. The people at ARD totally understood and didn't judge me. They didn't pressure me and told me that I really had to be ready because this was a medical procedure. The first day of testing and doctor visits was easy. On day 2 I was under sedation fully monitored and safe. Day 3 was rougher, but the dr. told me in advance that it would be. I am a skeptic when it comes to doctors and clinicians because of past experience with both myself and my children. But I can say with total confidence that Easterseals has done an amazing job helping my daughters and myself cope and adapt in a healthy way to live successfully in todays world. I can’t imagine being a teenager now a days, and as a parent, I would do anything to help my girls get through these tough years. Colleen has done a wonderful job helping us communicate even if it’s uncomfortable for both of us. She helped save my beautiful daughter from going into a very dark place. I see some do not share the same experiences we have with Easterseals, but I’ve been in and out with my girls over the years, and between the staff, docs, and therapists, they have all done an amazing job, considering what they too, have to deal with day in and day out. At times my girls had to change therapists in the middle of treatment, but they did an alright job matching them with someone similar. And if they are ready and willing to change, and it’s explained that stuff like this happens, we got through it. It’s hard to keep constant staff on hand all the time, so I understood. Thanks for all the help easterseals. You have a 5 star review from my family!!

Went there for a trunk or treat event. Everyone was nice and pleasant The kids enjoyed themselves. Also if they had a wonderful presentation about the use of narcan and was given free narcan away to help the community. I love that they were making a positive impact in the community while also giving to the children.

The ladies behind the desk helped me resolve a issue. I was treated with respect and they did everything they could to help me even though I was visibly frustrated they handled the situation professionally and I would recommend this place 10 times out of 10

Lifesaving care provided to combat and other traumatized veterans and their family members. Not 15 minute visits and medications, tailored counseling (individual and groups) to address the numerous issues presented. Questions about care? Call, make an appointment. You have nothing to lose and so very much to gain.

They do tend to put a device on your ankle that tracks you. And have boring group therapy. But you do get three great nutritious meals, every day. Basic respect, andd a personalized treatment plan. And Netflix.

"I'd like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Jody and Kayla for being exceptional nurses on Floor A4 for adults. They consistently provided us with thorough updates, showed immense patience and understanding, and truly gave us peace of mind about our loved ones. Despite their busy schedules and the stress they face, they always took the time to keep us informed and offer reassurance. We deeply appreciate their dedication and the compassion they showed during every phone call and every update."
