To be honest I’m not sure why everyone hates this place, usually when you’re going to a place like this, medication and therapy will be in the question, so will other forms of help, you’re here to get mentally well, at least that’s what I came here for, I’ve been with CMH since I was 9 years old. Now 20! They have lots to offer in all honesty, I’ve been diagnosed with Consistent Depression, PTSD, ED, social anxiety, Bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder, and it’s definitely not easy to live with, some people struggle with finding the right medication for them, and that’s been me since I was 9 years old. I’ve been on multiple medications and to no prevail unfortunately, but that isn’t the prescribers fault, some medication just generally doesn’t work for others like they do for some, we’re all different and I’m still on that journey with finding what works best with my new prescriber here, she mentioned to me that they can do blood tests here to find out what medication is compatible with YOU, And what side effects are more likely to occur, which I’ll be taking! So I definitely recommend you to do that if you’re serious about your needs. I’m currently on 3 medications for my mental health and will be receiving a 4th, and I sure hope it helps! I’m ready to be free of dealing with my mental battles. If you’re worried about being on too many meds and think “4” is too much, don’t hesitate to let them know that and they’ll most likely find other medications that battle multiple things at once, rather than having to take much more than you’d want. But there definitely isn’t a cure all pill XD If your psychiatrist or prescriber isn’t listening to your needs or what you’d like to be on, there is other ones within the same building, either virtually or in person. Just go and do that before quitting entirely with this mental health service dealing with medication, same goes with therapy, find other therapists before you go transferring. I know mental health is hard and is a struggle, trust me. I’ve lived that route my entire life, but just try your best to not give up.. and try to put faith and hope into your treatments and who you’re working with to battle with that you go through. I know not everyone’s experience will be the same as mine, but I’ve had some prescribers and therapists I absolutely hated from here, and that’s why I switched to different ones within the same building and finally found ones who I feel listen to me. I’d rate this place 5 stars for never giving up on me, and accepting me back when I gave up on them, they’ll try their best to listen to you, and will do what they can to help you, giving you resources and recommendations, etc So hopefully your experience here won’t be too bad. And if you feel they’re putting you on too much medication, or are doing something you don’t quite feel comfortable with, just let them know that, and if you’re a minor explain that to your parent or guardian! So that you can both discuss that to the person you’re seeing. And hopefully all goes well. And like I said this is just my experience and I cannot speak on the behalf of others, but I do have faith that you’ll get the treatment you need, just don’t forget to tell them how you’re truly feeling. Ps, Best of wishes to current you and future you! You’re here for a reason, don’t waste that💕

I see a lot of bad reviews on here and wanted to offer up my positive experience to hopefully encourage you to use this Richmond office. My daughter has been seeing Ashley S. for about a year now. We have nothing but great things to say about her. She has knocked down her walls and allowed her space to feel comfortable. Not only does she listen to what my daughter has to say, she listens to what we have to say as well. I wish everyone could schedule their children with her- but don't because we found her first! Kidding. Thank you so much Ashley!

The mind is subjective and so is therapy, i believe if you have a bad experience you simply try somewhere else which may practice a different field of psychology that could help more. Therapist are a guide like a GPS, but I feel like too many people expect them to take the wheel and just fix their problems for them. I had a great experience and have been able to get myself not only in college but running again and I would feel comfortable going back if need be. Therapist were great and that’s all that matters to me!

I started going there when I was in pretty bad shape. My depression had complete control of my life. They helped me tremendously, and I cannot say that enough. I got therapy, and went to different groups. Everyone there were kind and very helpful. I can honestly say that they changed my life! The first gal that I was set up with, well, I just couldn't seem to open up to, so they let me change people, without making me feel weird about it. The groups are small and comfortable, and help you to understand that, although you may differing issues, you are not alone. They teach you "tools" that you can use in different situations. I have just started going back, to help me learn to deal with the loss of my Mother. Will I learn to be ok without her? I am not sure, but, if anyone can help, it is these people. They offer many programs, and I had no problem getting back in.

Just checking in on you guys. Thank You for all your help and the tools to stay clean. I left about four years ago and was at 120 . After about 45 days of going thru withdrawals I finally gave in to Suboxone. My next step is the shot. Hi Bill and glad to see you're still here. TY for always being cool and I'll never forget you. I think I was 518 and can only imagine what number you're on today!! Addicts do recover when they choose to!!!! Ty QBH for the tools to stay clean by making me go to group and therapy 🙌. Which made me start going to NA meetings. I believe in early recovery you gotta do 90/90. 90 meetings in 90 days to start change 😉😎. Remember to give yourself a break and get into NA to start working the steps of NA. The books how and why were my best tools. You must have a sponsor to work the steps. You can't do the steps alone because how do you know if you're doing them right 👍 and you'll have a friend forever.

At the heart of what I love about River’s Bend is therapist Julia Greenbaum. I initially struggle to open up but she has met me where I’m at mentally and changed my life. Although the entire facility is professional and courteous, Julia takes her standard of care to places I have never seen the bar raised to before. Her methods are down-to-earth yet professional, her insights are relevant, her empathy is tangible, and she goes above and beyond to be there for her clients. Whether Julia is providing homework/resources for continuous growth outside of our sessions or pushing me to see beyond my present circumstance when we are talking, I always feel safe, respected, heard, and valued. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Thank you BioMed for your dedication. This is my truth. I am in recovery and I also completely stopped drinking alcohol 2 1/2 months ago. I am a hard working tax paying contributing member of society. I am at the same time healing repercussions of physical, emotional and verbal abuse, gaslighting and neglect. Do not misunderstand me it goes against my principles to mess with another person’s job. However, BioMed has a counselor that has no business counseling women in any capacity. I understand that abused women, including myself, require a bit more reassurance and support not further abuse. Dennis H. has stated to me more than once, “ignorant independent American women .” This is what he really thinks of women. He is a fraud, an abuser and a thief. Ps Good riddance to him. And Yes I Still Exist.

I am a skeptic when it comes to doctors and clinicians because of past experience with both myself and my children. But I can say with total confidence that Easterseals has done an amazing job helping my daughters and myself cope and adapt in a healthy way to live successfully in todays world. I can’t imagine being a teenager now a days, and as a parent, I would do anything to help my girls get through these tough years. Colleen has done a wonderful job helping us communicate even if it’s uncomfortable for both of us. She helped save my beautiful daughter from going into a very dark place. I see some do not share the same experiences we have with Easterseals, but I’ve been in and out with my girls over the years, and between the staff, docs, and therapists, they have all done an amazing job, considering what they too, have to deal with day in and day out. At times my girls had to change therapists in the middle of treatment, but they did an alright job matching them with someone similar. And if they are ready and willing to change, and it’s explained that stuff like this happens, we got through it. It’s hard to keep constant staff on hand all the time, so I understood. Thanks for all the help easterseals. You have a 5 star review from my family!!

I lived for 9 months and I really liked it very much. They had adult sized tricycles in 2015. I would ride them around on the property to and from the Scripps Mansion and to the circle drive near the men’s treatment center. I tried riding to and from the gym/ physical therapy building where the business offices and printing press for the magazine journal. It was too hard going up hill but a breeze coming back down to the bridge . Then I had to get off and push it up to the treatment center for women. I really enjoyed my time at this place. However all good times have to end and mine ended .

Guest House offers best-practice, evidence based treatment of addictions and other conditions which may be associated. Their commitment to clients is the foundation of their intensive treatment program, and they support health on all levels. Not only did I get my life back, I'm living a quality of life I didn't even see as possible before treatment. It was hard, hard work, but I'm a much better member of my community now, as well as engaging with life in fuller and more healthy ways. I thank God daily for the gifts and grace I received through treatment at Guest House!

The ladies behind the desk helped me resolve a issue. I was treated with respect and they did everything they could to help me even though I was visibly frustrated they handled the situation professionally and I would recommend this place 10 times out of 10

Dr. Sam may be a very busy guy but he is very intelligent and caring, it takes time to find the right combination of meds and he knows what he is doing. Also if you have things to talk about write them down and he will talk to you. I think he’s a good psychiatrist, and I would recommend this place.

It’s been hard to get a hold of the secretaries since they began teleworking. They do not answer the phone. They leave the recording that the office is closed during working hours. You leave a message and they do not bother to call you back.
