My loved one has had a positive experience with the Hazelden Betty Ford Minnesota program and likes the treatment. I’m giving 4.5 stars because of concerns about insurance and financial communication. During his first stay, he was approached about unexpected costs within his first few days, despite asking that they contact me. Unfortunately, I was not contacted, and the added uncertainty contributed to him deciding to come home within a week. I recommend families to know the insurance criteria needed to cover this type of treatment, also assign a person handle financial matters and be prepared for coverage to sometimes be authorized in short 5–7 day increments. Fortunately, he made the decision to return to Hazelden, and this time he has stayed and is now almost finished with this phase of the program. We are incredibly grateful to have gotten him back into treatment and are very happy to be getting ready to welcome him home. We know recovery is a process that will continue for months and beyond, but we feel much better prepared for that next chapter. I especially want to recognize the counselors and care team. They have been compassionate, engaged, and genuinely invested in his recovery. They have helped prepare him for returning home and worked with him on a continuing-care plan. Their communication and support have made a meaningful difference for our entire family. Overall, we are grateful for the care he received and for the progress he has made. I hope this review helps other families prepare for the insurance process while also recognizing the people at Hazelden who work so hard to support patients and their families.

Having been here for over 10 years I can tell you there’s not a better place to go, without Valhalla (BHG) I wouldn’t be able to thrive and live a normal life which I’ve been able to do. Just got home from Burkwood yesterday! Definitely recommend them. The counselors are rough but that’s because they care. I’ve been to treatment before, however this time learned way more than I ever have. The nursing staff is knowledgeable and helpful. While the doctor only comes on Wednesday she is amazing. And don’t let me forget the cooks Bret and Val! They are definitely top notch! Thank you everyone at Burkwood!

If you are looking to be the best version of yourself, you have found it!!! Burkwood is a Tony Robins style boot camp. This centered based program is a master class on recovery, in my opinion, it's the one place you can really start over and begin the change so desperately needed for the road to recovery!!! The staff at Burkwood is second to none. The RA's and nurse's understand you and are amazing people!!! The cooks created fantastic food (Michelin Star grade) three squares and dessert!!! Also snacks on deck😉 The counselors are fantastic and each has a unique experience which gives better perspective on your journey! You can really emerse yourself in the program if you keep an open mind, don't get in your own way, and mind your bobber. With the community, you will feel like family, not only with the clients but the staff as well! People really care here and you will feel it! The comrodary you may not have known you needed is here and helps you become healthy, not only for yourself but in relationships and life over all. The best version of yourself is waiting to be realized!! Everyone I know has congratulated my achievements since graduating this program. I have no regrets and a much clearer pathway to my goals in recovery. After here, life really begins!

My child had his first visit to the doctor. I asked an interpreter to assist over the phone, but the connection was choppy and the quality wasn’t good. While this might be fine for general medical consultations, I don’t think it’s suitable for situations where you need to express your feelings. Also, the doctor’s diagnosis was different from what I had expected, so I plan to ask about my concerns at the next appointment.

I got sober at Transformation House in Fridley 4 years ago. Been sober ever since. My husband got sober at the men’s when it was in Anoka. (We got sober together) he’s also still sober and 4 years clean. We both loved the program it helped us in so many ways. I recommend transformation house to many people. I’m not sure what it’s like now, but when I was there it was great. The best part was the family like setting they had there. The sisterhood was something special. 🙂

I am an alumni, I am from Anoka so after my terrible experience at (the old) River place in Anoka, I went to Transformation house. 8 actually went there a few times , only completed it one time though. I couldn't tell you today how the program is TBH, but back when Betty was the owner (R.I.P.) and when Brian was the head councilor, and Angel was one of the cooks and Natalie was one of the technicians.... Back than that place really helped me out. They were so patient with me, they gave me the opportunity to get whatever I want out of it. Which really is like most places. Whatever you put into it you will get out of it. I hope and pray that the love and care Betty had for people in recovery lives on through Shiloh Ministries (Transformation house)

I can't say enough good things about Transformation House. My experience here was a night and day difference from my previous treatment center. My counselor was incredible – so empathetic and understanding, which made it easier to be honest and work through things. The entire staff genuinely cares about your well-being. It's clear they're not just going through the motions. What I appreciated most was that they focused on helping me find the right path forward, even after I left. The outpatient program they connected me with was fantastic. Today, I'm proud to say I've graduated, I'm in college, I have a job, and most importantly, I have my kids back in my life. My advice to anyone going to Transformation House is to be honest with yourself and your counselor, and truly commit to the process. Stop making excuses and put in the work – they will meet you where you are and provide the support you need. I also built some strong connections with the other women there. The staff creates a supportive environment, but ultimately, your willingness to change is key. Transformation House truly changed my life, and I'm incredibly grateful for how far I've come.

The people here are genuine and so welcoming and welcome newcomers with open arms the intake process is super tedious and long and takes 3 to 4 hours but it’s so so so worth it!!!!! no regrets choosing to come here I promise you will feel the same I can’t say one bad thing about this place at all. If i could give this place 10 stars I honestly would i’m pretty sure this place saved my life

I've been in 13 treatment center in my life im sober mow and I went to a vinland in lorretto mn I think there owned by the same people I am proud to say after leaving vinland I now have over 15 yrs sober if it wasn't for vinland I would of lost my family ill never be able to repay vinland in lorretto for what they did for me

Beautiful facility with kind and helpful staff! The housing is set up in a convenient way to focus clients towards recovery. Been to this place off and on for years best place and coming back I felt really heard and seen and actually helped my mental health so much the staff is amazing there and my family therapist is the best and even the dbt day treatment and I would definitely recommend this place. Finding therapist is hard and finding the right fit is hard too but if anyone feels this place isn’t the best it is you can choose who to work with and what works best for you. If I could give 10 stars I would and before I left this place as a teenager I had Karen king and she was a beautiful soul ! Helped me through a lot so definitely recommended this place for any help you need! Everyone in the dbt day treatment was the best staff ever! This facility and their program is amazing and saved my life. I have been in this program 4 times I believe. This is not because the program was ineffective but because I was battling a lifetime of issues. The staff is like family to me, they genuinely care and they played a huge role in changing my life. I also participated in their aftercare programs PHP/ partial hospitalization program and the step down program from that was the AMHOP/ adult mental health outpatient program. These were also very effective and a key factor in my rehabilitation. After care is so important, although this was stressed when I was completing my treatment plan I did not take advantage of these services the first few times I completed the inpatient program. However after completing both after care programs, I understood the importance and have been able to maintain my mental health and sobriety. Most everyone dealing with addiction knows 9.8/10, we are self medicating dealing with severe underlying mental health issues. So addressing both issues at the same time was definitely what the missing piece to the puzzle. I highly recommend Mercy Hospital Unity Campus! Oh I didn’t mention the food and beds, way better than any other facility I have been to! I could go on and on about the many positive attributes, but I won’t. The staff is so warm and welcoming, you will feel right at home! I could go on and on about the many positive attributes, but I won’t. Definitely worth investing your time, you will NOT regret your decision to give it a try!

Went in a mess 16 beers a day extremely thirsty so I drank more beer. I wasn't passing water because my liver was so scarred and imflamed. Thought I would putz and brought projects but they allow nothing inside. Hardly books either because of hiding drugs. It wasn't long before I was aprt of a group of zombies milling about. Having to go get blood pressure checks etc. I wanted to be alone and meditate. Easy to get used to this carefree life. Most take advantage all agreeable to the BS to stay longer. The walls started to close in and I left after 3 days. I only have GOD to thank. But I needed to know I could not drink and live. Very hard but now I'm not afraid and I don't want so much. You have to decide.. I jonesd for cigarettes more than beer.

They've helped me quite a bit in my recovery, honestly methadone saved my life. I have over a year of sobriety now and they actually help you taper down and are super supportive unlike other clinics that tend to recommend you stay on it instead of creating a plan. Though it's okay if somebody is on it for the rest of their lives if it's what keeps them clean and safe it even just for harm reduction purposes. They also offer harm reduction services, test kits etc. I have been on MAT for 6+ years here and at 170mg and am almost done with my taper. I'm currently at 15mg and have been able to safely taper and with education on what to expect and support through it. The nurses are great, S/O Michelle, Whitney, Amber, and Jamie for always being so kind and helpful and keeping it real with us and listening when I was struggling. Y'all are what the recovery world needs. Along with both PAs they have, Shelley you've been a wonderful doctor to me. And to both my counselors, Akin, Anne, and Evelyn. Thanks for being a part of my story. 🖤
