Went to this place in 2018 short term program, 3 months. Saved and changed my life. I understand it may not be for some but it always starts with yourself, you have to really want it and if you do the people and counselors here will help guide your way. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows here or anywhere for that matter, you have to be strong you have to be determined and if you are this place will work wonders for you. I'll have 8 years sober in 2 days and it all started here. Life is what you make it. If you're lost it doesn't mean you're lost forever, sometimes we all just need a little help and adult and teen challenge can be that help.

My Dad was recently on the 3rd floor of the Mpls VA hospital. One of his nurses was named Amy and she was so kind and thorough. He is 95 and has a hard time seeing and hearing. Although my appointment started a little later than scheduled, the medical assistant explained that they were running behind, which I appreciated. Once I met with Jande Dadzie, NP, she was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to listen carefully to all of my questions and concerns. I never felt rushed, and she provided thoughtful advice and explained everything clearly. She made me feel heard and comfortable discussing my health and was very patient throughout the visit. My initial primary care intake was a positive experience, and I look forward to continuing my care with her and the Minneapolis VA. Thank you for the excellent care.

Just got home from Burkwood yesterday! Definitely recommend them. The counselors are rough but that’s because they care. I’ve been to treatment before, however this time learned way more than I ever have. The nursing staff is knowledgeable and helpful. While the doctor only comes on Wednesday she is amazing. If you are looking to be the best version of yourself, you have found it!!! Burkwood is a Tony Robins style boot camp. This centered based program is a master class on recovery, in my opinion, it's the one place you can really start over and begin the change so desperately needed for the road to recovery!!! The staff at Burkwood is second to none. The RA's and nurse's understand you and are amazing people!!! The cooks created fantastic food (Michelin Star grade) three squares and dessert!!! Also snacks on deck😉 The counselors are fantastic and each has a unique experience which gives better perspective on your journey! You can really emerse yourself in the program if you keep an open mind, don't get in your own way, and mind your bobber. With the community, you will feel like family, not only with the clients but the staff as well! People really care here and you will feel it! The comrodary you may not have known you needed is here and helps you become healthy, not only for yourself but in relationships and life over all. The best version of yourself is waiting to be realized!! Everyone I know has congratulated my achievements since graduating this program. I have no regrets and a much clearer pathway to my goals in recovery. After here, life really begins!

So far my experience with Anne Marie has been TERRIBLE!!!! Early in recovery dealing with disconnection notices and getting back into the work force relying on public transportation in rural Minnesota and trying to find housing is NOT EASY and neither it is an excuse, but I am not sure how she can be kicked out of group after 1 group absence and individual. It is frustrating to work with a provider who calls their clients names during sessions and communicates in a condescending manner. Is this place not trauma informed? I’m so confused as to how I was discharged without being able to speak for myself or to Anne Marie’s supervisor.
UPDATE: Club recovery was ready to listen to my concerns and was quick to offer an efficient solution. I am highly satisfied with the care that I've received at Club Recovery, but amazed at their proficient customer service.

My child had his first visit to the doctor. I asked an interpreter to assist over the phone, but the connection was choppy and the quality wasn’t good. While this might be fine for general medical consultations, I don’t think it’s suitable for situations where you need to express your feelings. Also, the doctor’s diagnosis was different from what I had expected, so I plan to ask about my concerns at the next appointment.

The people here are genuine and so welcoming and welcome newcomers with open arms the intake process is super tedious and long and takes 3 to 4 hours but it’s so so so worth it!!!!! no regrets choosing to come here I promise you will feel the same I can’t say one bad thing about this place at all. idk about wakiagun but KOLA be the cleanest shelter/day center I have been to in MPLS. love not having to call to get a spot you just show up and they open doors at 7pm but spots get filled quickly. Holds like 25-30 men and 5-10 women. Seriously only place I feel safe to sleep and not trip.

I'm back, less than two weeks until I graduate the program. How has it been? Incredible. The best thing that's ever happened to me. I will NEVER forget the people I met here....the staff all the way down to each of my peers. Ignore ANY bad reviews you may see, Maghakian Place will change your life.

I have fought my mental health since I was a teen. (51 now)
I was in United Hospital for a few weeks after being off my meds and having some "issues". After the hospital I came here for 90 days of intensive treatment. It has literally changed my life and outlook ON life more than I could've ever imagined. The staff and the other residents have been amazing. I got my meds all lined up and have been taking them religiously. The groups and the actual treatment has helped me enormously to the point that friends I had lost because of WHO I had become with my bipolar flaring up have come back and are so supportive. I will never forget what Maghakian Place has done for me and there's still two months to go. If you need help, trust me....it's out there. Don't be afraid to WIN the battle you've been fighting!!!!! My niece had a brain biopsy and a brain tumor surgery at Gillette’s Children’s hospital. Every staff member was so attentive, caring, respectful, and truly supportive. I wish I got this nurses name but whoever did my blood draw today was the best I've ever experienced. I have never had a blood draw where I didn't feel the needle but I swear I barely noticed it and she took like 4 samples of my blood in what must have been 5 minutes? maybe less? 10/10 to whoever that was.
