My new psychiatrist is very good. Have only seen her once but I can tell. I've had good luck here in the past but during the pandemic had to see other ones that weren't so good. I'm seeing a lady named Amanda now and she seems wonderful. Compass bought Comtrea which was my old Health Network. Compass doesn't believe in prescribing benzos. I haven't been back since I found that out.

I recently finished treatment at the Aviary. It changed my life. All of the counselars truly care about every single clients and are awesome helping you in anyway they can. The nurses are super awesome and friendly. The coaches care and run their butts off helping all the clients. The admin office will work their butts off helping in anyway they can(especially hounding your hr department at work to get your insurance info when they drag their feet getting the info sent off). The kitchen staff are awesome, they work so hard fixing good food and they deliver. Love ya Miss Debbie!!!! Nothing bad to say about the Aviary. Thank you so much for helping me. Much love to you all.

As a former client I have to say Aviary was a life changing experience. The staff really cared for us and was always willing to help. I learned so much from them. Addiction is a killer. I’m so happy and grateful for my experience there. I’m still sober and living my best life in recovery. I would recommend the Aviary to anyone.

I was admittedly very nervous to go to a new office for my mental health care after Compass Health took over Phelps Health. However, I have never had better mental healthcare. I am so pleased. The first psychiatric NP they set me up with was a very bad match, but I was able to be switched to a new one, which I really appreciated. The new psychiatric NP I got was just amazing. My CSS (Community Support Specialist) is really helpful in my mental health journey. Every CSS I've met is caring, kind, and I feel like they genuinely care about my mental health and well-being. I recommend Compass Health as they have been instrumental in my life and mental health, as well as helping me grow as a person.

Dr. Shiue is an amazing physician, she was my son's pedestrian, I remember him getting sick and i would call and she would always see him I know she worked through lunch and stayed late as well. He was 21 and no longer technically her patient but had not seen an adult Phyician and was going to be over a week to get in, I called the office with my concerns, they spoke with her and she saw him through her lunch break, Dr. Shiue also called the adult Doctor and got him in the next day, turned out he had a really bad case of pneumonia. Dr. Shiue also gave me her private cell number to call her if I needed anything. She is totally an amazing person as well as a physician, she really cares about her patients and the parents as well, she has called me after hours to follow up on my son. It was very hard to move on to an adult physician. I can not say enough about the staff and her. My son is now grown and is expecting a little one of his own and of course Dr. Shiue will be her Doctor. I trusted her with my son and now my Granddaughter 100 %. Dr. Shiue is one in a million and can't say how happy I am she will be seeing my Granddaughter

The place is great, but a few if the check in clerks could use a different position that doesn't deal directly with the patients. Rudeness and a cold attitude is not warranted towards any veteran. On the old hand, 95% of the staff are amazing human beings and value their patients. They are kind, respectful, cordial and patient towards their patients.

My experience at Alsana Residential was absolutely amazing! The staff there genuinely cared about me and my recovery. They didn't just do their job they went above and beyond! I am so grateful to my care team there and the DC's that put in the extra effort. There was only one there that I felt cared more about their title than they did about genuinely helping and being a part of the community. I also met some of the best people. I will never forget you all. Thank you for being a safe place for me , for helping me to see that the apple fell far from the tree, and for showing me that I am human too and deserve the same rights as every other human on this planet! To Tracy, Jojo, Mae, Katrina, Jordan, and Karlie: I am a better person for knowing each of you and you have all touched my soul! I will never forget any of you and what you did for me! You each went out of your way to help me and are amazing people! Thank you for everything you have done! With Love, Ashley Alderson

Before Alsana, my daughter was so deep in her eating disorder and co-occurring mental health issues that functioning without these things felt next to impossible. She seemed entrenched in this disorder, and I didn’t know how to get her out. Each time we took her Alsana, they’ve helped pull her out of some of the darkest points of her life so it seemed at the time. The staff and philosophy of Alsana guided me through the ups and downs of early recovery, never giving up when she would stumble. I felt like everyone I met truly cared for her and her recovery. Now, after Alsana, she is living a life of freedom from the grips of this life sucking eating disorder. SHe feels stronger, more capable of dealing with triggers, and more compassionate towards others in a similar spot than ever before. Thank you for giving me my daughter back.

I have quite a bit of experience in behavioral health - both as an employee and as a patient. Despite the cons listed below, this is a 4+ star facility for the treatment they provide, compared to my experience with other programs. I'm giving it 5 stars here because the review doesn't allow half stars, so I'm rounding up. First the pros: * The intake dept at the hospital for BH is on a walk in basis which makes it easy to get care exactly when needed. * The psychiatrist Dr. Qaisrani spent nearly 45 min assessing my concerns on my first day inpatient, then spent considerable time each day helping create a collaborative treatment plan with me and my spouse. * Many of the nurses and other staff really cared about patients. * Therapy groups are mostly helpful with good information. * Social workers are diligent about following up with family for discharge planning. * The inpatient unit has daily visiting hours from 4-5pm. * Patients can choose their meals from several options for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is usually eggs, bacon, sausage and some kind of carb - toast, biscuit, oatmeal, and French Toast. * There were many snack options available and 3 set snack times in addition to the 3 meals. * Good selection of puzzles, games, word searches, coloring sheets, playing cards, etc. * LGBTQ friendly and pro trans supportive to me. I was also allowed to continue my HRT during my stay. Staff seemed genuinely to try to get pronouns right, not 100%, but very apologetic when they slipped up. Several other patients had different preferred names and staff were 100% in using the preferred names. * The TV is available 630am-1030pm (off during groups), a good variety of cable channels available. * Phones are available for patient use 8am-10am (off during groups). * Christian religion focused with many Christian religious materials available (a plus if you like that sort of thing, also included as a con below for those that don't). Next the cons: * Outside of breakfast, the food is consistently terrible (mostly overcooked). * The staff sometimes gossip about patients and other staff within earshot of the patients. * No regularly scheduled outdoor time and no real physical activity possible (no gym, no stretching or yoga classes, no outdoor space except a courtyard that was only accessed 1x for 45 min during my 8 day stay). * Therapy groups are only scheduled 1-2x each day on the weekend (6x on weekdays). This is typical of most facilities but still a con in my opinion. * Rules are applied inconsistently at times and seem dependent on staff member / their own set of rules (use of dental floss/floss sticks, tampons, holes in jeans, zippers on clothing, jewelry, piercings allowed, soft cover/hard cover books, etc.) * Building is quite outdated and in need of deep cleaning and remodel (rust in shower and toilet, chairs with significant wear, table is wobbly, carpet is stained and very dirty). * Therapy groups rarely start or finish on time. * The daily therapy schedule isn't provided to patients until right before the first group and only shows the therapist name, not the type of group (processing, art, music, pets, etc.) * Christian religious materials are EVERYWHERE - posted on the wall, handouts, nurse uniforms, etc. (again, listed as a con here, but a pro above also, depending on preference).

My husband was a patient 5 times maybe more I lose track. In hospital staff was excellent only once did we have a problem. The nurse didn't dress his wound just wrapped gauze around it after doc visited to check wound. This gauze wrap stayed that way on evening and night shift. Day shift hadn't looked at it when I got there so I dressed the wound myself. Also his urinal had spilled on night shift and the nurse said she would call housekeeper but no one ever come to clean a towel was laid over it. But they have been great all the other times. In fact they have saved his life twice. I have been a patient most recently during New Years 2025. They did try to send me home and I told them I am not ready. I kept dropping 02. I did the walk test and thought I was going to pass out. Therapist said no my 02 level dropped on exertion. I did go home the next day. Diagnosed with CHF and COPD. But test showed common cold. Care was excellent but to rushed to discharge. Now my true complaint. The ER doctor is the rudest worst bedside manner I have ever encountered. I was sick and went to ER before my admission. Was there 7 hours with no one telling me what they even thought. I finally asked nurse to take needle out because I was leaving. He said wait I will get doctor to come talk to you. 30 minutes later I left took IV out myself. The next week I need back in ER. I couldn't get my breath. I think I had a mild heart attack on Sunday. But wouldn't go because I was afraid I get same doc and the chest pain eased then went away. On Monday morning went to ER. Same doctor. I asked for nurse practitioner. She admitted me. At home my 02 was high 50s to low 60s not sure at ER. I was to sick to care and confused. I am not sure of ER doctor name. Nurse told me he was really smart but I am telling you no beside manner and I am not sure he cares. Doesn't listen to patient. We travel a long way to get medical care. Doctors are great, my husband goes to wound center and they are awesome. This would be the perfect hospital if you changed ER practices. Things happen we are all human. I am an old nurse and worked administration in long term care as administrator for 40 yrs. I understand. But I hate going to this ER and don't want to be in any other hospital. Please fix. I kept waiting for someone to call about why I left er no one called. And today stumbled on this site. While looking for dermatologist connected to BJC. I see I am not the only one that has had ER problems. A once was told he was medical director of ER. I don't know.
