About three months ago, I was really struggling with a relapse to my addiction, and Crystal Meth was my go-to. I was trying so hard to stay sane while looking for a place that would accept my insurance and help me get back on track. During all that searching and waiting, I randomly messaged Pride Detox for some info on their services. And guess what? Pride Detox and I finally connected about a week later, and I’m so grateful they did! I was hoping to find an LGBTQ facility because I needed to be around people who understood me. After three months, I’m still sober, and I’m working on all the things they taught me and helped me understand, like boundaries, triggers, and coping skills. One last thing: don’t judge their facility by its size. I’d describe it as more of a rehab and detox facility in the form of a sober living house because it looks like any other family home from the outside. But inside, the facility is staffed with a caring and loving staff, a 24/7 nurse, therapists seven days a week, and peer support from a local chaplain who visits weekly, plus an intern peer support if needed. And the entire staff is LGBTQ friendly and understands addiction because most of them have been through it themselves. So, if you’re LGBT and struggling with an addiction, please reach out to them today. They have facilities in California and Florida, and when you’re ready to ask for help, they can and will be the lifeline you need to start your path to recovery.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pride Detox is an incredible place for LGBTQIA+ individuals to begin their healing journey in a truly safe, affirming, and supportive environment. From detox through residential care, the entire experience was handled with compassion, respect, and a deep understanding of what it means to recover while also embracing your identity. The staff at Pride Detox are amazing — not only professionally skilled, but also genuinely kind and nonjudgmental. They meet you where you are, hold space for your emotions, and make sure you feel seen and cared for every step of the way. Detox can be overwhelming, but here, it felt like I was being held in a space of safety and empowerment. Their residential program continues that same level of care, giving you tools, support, and community to start building a new life — one that’s rooted in authenticity and self-love. I would absolutely recommend anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community who is struggling with trauma, mental health, or substance use to attend their program. Pride Detox is more than just a treatment center — it’s a place where true healing and self-discovery begin.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.

Treatments

Alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder (AUD), is defined by alcohol dependence. This is a state the body reaches when it experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. A person who has AUD craves alcohol and continues to drink despite adverse consequences. Because withdrawing from alcohol can pose health risks, individuals with AUD should seek professional alcohol rehab in California to overcome their alcohol addiction. This process typically involves medical detox, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

In California, substance abuse treatment programs can help individuals with any type of substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. These rehab programs typically encompass various levels of care, including medically assisted detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential rehab, and partial hospitalization. You can expect clinicians to utilize evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness to help you achieve and sustain your recovery. The rehab's clinical team can provide a comprehensive assessment to determine the appropriate level of care and medical support you may need.

Programs

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

While participating in dialectical behavior therapy in California, you'll focus on four key areas of skill development: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Treatment includes weekly individual and group sessions.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Trauma therapy is a structured approach used by therapists to help you heal from a past traumatic event. Your therapist works with you to identify the traumatic memory and process the information so you experience emotional healing and a sense of safety and stability.

Accreditations

State Licenses are permits issued by government agencies that allow rehab organizations to conduct business legally within a certain geographical area. Typically, the kind of program a rehab facility offers, along with its physical location, determines which licenses are required to operate legally.
