Waypoint Recovery Center in Cameron, South Carolina, is a serene and rustic drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility on 58 acres. They serve adults with a team of interdisciplinary professionals who treat addiction as a chronic disease with various therapies and practices. It's a private facility with luxury amenities. In addition to widely used b
I attended Waypoint for their 7-day program, and from the moment I arrived, after a 3-hour drive,I was welcomed with compassion and zero judgment. They took me in without hesitation. The staff clearly explained what to expect, when I’d see the doctor, and the protocols of the program, which helped ease a lot of my anxiety. There was a point when I wanted to leave, but they helped me truly see what I’d be giving up. Although I didn’t stay on track immediately after I left, Tara didn’t forget about me. She added me to the group text and invited me to the Zoom meetings. That simple act made all the difference. The support I’ve received from the ongoing group chat and meetings has been a lifesaver. I can honestly express how I’m feeling, and I trust the people in that space, something that hasn’t come easy for me because of my past trust issues. I was hesitant to leave a review because I value my anonymity, but people deserve to know how incredible this place is. Waypoint truly cares about your well-being and wants to see you succeed in every way possible. Turner, the CEO, is a no-BS kind of guy, and I mean that in the best way. He’ll tell you the truth, even if it’s hard to hear, and for me, that honesty helped save my life. When I was freaking out, he calmed me down and reminded me that I could do this… that I needed to do this. The staff is amazing, and I loved the group sessions during the short time I was there. If you’re struggling, please call them. I truly believe this place can help save your life, just like it did mine.

Waypoint definitely saved my life! The staff is awesome and they got me admitted almost immediately after I reached out to them. It’s a 12 step based program but they provide tons of information about other pathways and resources for recovery. They also do an excellent job with family support, mine still attends a support group weekly. Amazing alumni program to keep you informed and connected.

I would highly recommend Waypoint for any addiction recovery. Turner James, CEO truly cares for each and every client. At 64 I was very nervous but there were people of all ages there. Detox was medically supervised. In a separate building from the resident quarters/classrooms etc.(but the same building as community dining room)where you were treated with care and made to feel welcome by staff and residents alike. The amazing staff is where all the money is spent for sure. My counselor , Tymia, was great and very understanding (and called me on my crap). Lane led Community and his door was always open to anyone. Our process classes were very very informative and the BHA’s, for the most part were so good. Shout out to Devin and Faith. Tara, in charge of Alumni, is on it. Especially making sure we all stay connected after we leave. The resident building was gender separated with separate lounges. The women’s lounge was by the nurses station and that really was my only complaint, but not really that big of deal. It is an old hunting lodge and grounds so it was kinda like camping in cabins with catering, lol. It’s definitely a bit rustic and bring a sweater or hoodie. The Ranch is freezing. The big surprise was the maintenance supervisor, Tripp, if you know, you know. You can always complain about something but the counseling, classes, staff and residents saved me…Thank you
