About Valle Vista Health System

Valle Vista Health System focuses on using evidence based therapeutic approaches to help patients learn effective coping skills to prevent relapse. All patients undergo an assessment and medical evaluation before staff members create a personalized plan that suits their needs. The facility accepts clients to the treatment program based on a need for treatment and presenting symptoms as well as willingness to adhere to program requirements.

The specific program you will be part of will depend on the level of care you need. Inpatient treatment offers 24 hour round the clock care as you work to recover from addiction. The adult partial hospitalization program is a five days a week program where you get treatment six hours per day. The intensive outpatient program is a short term addiction treatment program where you meet at the facility three days a week for a few hours in the morning or evening.

You’ll engage in group and family therapy and mental health focused programming centered around cognitive behavioral therapy. The services in the outpatient treatment program also include educational resources and an introduction to communication resources. Valle Vista Health System helps individuals addicted to any opioid, regardless of whether it’s an illegal or prescription drug. In the children and teens treatment program, they provide treatment for mental health issues such as anxiety and PTSD, along with treating substance abuse or co occurring disorders.

I have been to valley vista once on the women’s unit. I loved that we had an outside area to hang out in. We could also smoke. The therapy groups were super helpful and the food isn’t too bad so I’m going there for my second time The few downsides- Most staff thought they were better than everyone else especially the nurses for some reason Also I had my discharge day pushed back a day because they were lazy and never got with me to sign one piece of paper .

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. Short-term, outpatient treatment for patients who don’t need around-the-clock care. Less concentrated level of treatment than the partial program.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

For long-term recovery from drug addiction, drug rehab in Indiana is often key. This treatment gives individuals who are struggling with a substance use disorder the tools to manage their disorder and achieve long-term sobriety.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Most of the staff was incredibly rude and unattentive, they only paid attention to some patients but the rest of us 'didn't have a too serious issue' so they would just give us pills. I honestly DO NOT recommend taking your loved ones here.

Do not send your child here voluntarily. My 15-year-old son was admitted for a short stay for SI. He was to get care and support until crisis was stable and while being under the impression he would receive individual and group therapy. The reality is that this facility functions like an understaffed, unsafe holding center/juvinile corrections center. The floor staff openly admitted that zero individual therapy is available for inpatient minors, and zero group therapy happens on weekends. Patients face collective punishment—losing outdoor and TV privileges because of one child's behavior. Furthermore, my son was forced to wear his dirty ER scrubs for his entire stay because the facility failed to provide clean underwear or the laundered scrubs they promised. While providing zero therapy, the facility harassed us about medications. The Nurse Practitioner called me 5 times in 2 days trying to force medication. She even asked me to “push him to start taking the medication, talk him into it”. I firmly told her NO, she went behind my back and asked my 15-year-old son directly on the unit twice, trying to convince him to take the meds without my consent. Most terrifyingly, the unit is unsafe. My son witnessed a boy get punched in the back of the head until he blacked out. The staff were unaware the unconscious victim and my son and another teenager had to rush to the unconscious boy and ask for the staff to help him. The adolescent boy unit was far from filled, plenty of beds open so there no way the staff can be claiming overwhelmed with patients, When I demanded a discharge since I had better therapy plan in place , the NP, charge nurse and house supervisor threatened me, claiming "hospital protocol" required them to call DCS if I left AMA. I had to research Indiana Code § 12-26-3-4, submit a formal 24-Hour Notice of Intent to Release, and attach a letter from my son's private therapist to force them to back down. The moment they realized I knew the law, they dropped the DCS threats and approved his standard discharge. This facility is unsafe, unhygienic, and utilizes predatory intimidation tactics against families in crisis. Advocate for your children and look elsewhere.

More like an understaffed minimum-security jail, than a treatment center. If you don’t ask for bare necessities, you won’t get them. It took four days for me to be able to meet with my social worker and I never met my doctor in person. I asked a supervisor for an A.M.A form multiple times, but only got it when four days had passed and my family added pressure to the system. Truly an abysmal experience that led to me developing serious side effects from the anti-psychotics that were prescribed without warning; and a worse mental state than I entered with.

This place is toxic for those trying to get better. The staff, for the most part, does not care about the patients. The patients are treated like worthless humans. They do more damage than good and are only trying to keep patients there as long as possible to profit off the insurance money. The state needs to investigate the motives here. They are not for the patients benefit. It's more like a phyche ward or prison, than rehabilitation center. Valle Vista Administration needs to reevaluate what is happening at their facility. This is absolutely unacceptable. I demand a response from administration, or else this will be taken to the public media for exposure.
